    STEAK, EGG, & CHEESE CROISSANT
    Marissa S.

I've only been to the Early Bird in midtown and wasn't too impressed. We decided to try the one out west and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress suggested the steak, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant, which made it that much better. The vibes were nice in the restaurant and the service was relatively quick. We did go during the week which could have made all the difference. When Pugs Fly was a great appetizer and a great shareable size. The price was on the more expensive side for breakfast.

    Ceiling vent

So I roll into Early Birds this morning thinking I'm about to have a wholesome breakfast with my wife. You know... eggs, bacon, maybe some dignity. Food? Solid. No complaints there. But then... I made the mistake of visiting the men's bathroom.Big mistake. Huge. Let me paint you a picture. It looked like the janitor quit mid-shift three days ago and said, "You know what? Let chaos finish the job. Dirt all over the floor like someone tracked in the entire state of Nebraska Toilet paper and paper towels scattered like it just lost a bar fight. The ceiling vent? Oh sweet baby Jesus, it looked like it was breaded and deep-fried in pure filth. I've seen cleaner bathrooms in gas stations that double as crime documentaries. You ever walk into a place and instantly feel like you need a tetanus shot and a priest? Yeah. That. This isn't some tiny detail. If the part of your business people see for 60 seconds looks like the set of a post-apocalyptic movie... what am I supposed to assume about the stuff I don't see? I'm not asking for marble floors and a spa attendant handing out warm towels.I'm asking for "doesn't look like it's growing its own ecosystem." Clean your bathroom. Seriously. Because right now, that place isn't just dirty, it's a full-blown health hazard with a side of regret.

    SMOKED SALMON BENNY

I love earlybird, and have been to their Blackstone location, many times, always within an exceptional experience. This was a great meal, and the service was good as well! I did not have a bad experience by any means. The smoked salmon Benedict was pretty good, although the sauce was separated upon serving, and it wasn't the most impressive flavor profile. Still a decent brunch. I could tell, biting into the avocado that it was rotten, so I took this out (pictured). The side pancake was good, nothing special. My friend got the breakfast nachos and like these, it was a large portion! I would come back here again, but I do think I've had much better experiences at Blackstone. There was nothing amazing about this meal, it just got the job done. The only pro for this location in my opinion is it is larger and has better parking.

The EB B&G, Traveler's Omelet, and Kid's Pancake.

My family and I visited the new Early Bird location for breakfast on the morning of the 4th of July. We've been to other locations before and knew to join the online waitlist ahead of time, we love that feature! We were seated immediately when we arrived. The interior of the new spot is clean, nicely decorated, and a decent size. Our server was attentive, kept our drinks filled, and checked in regularly. I ordered the EB B&G with eggs over easy, and they came out perfectly. The biscuits and gravy were solid. My husband had the Traveler's Omelet and noted it was spicier than expected, so heads up if you're not into heat. We also got the kids' pancake meal for our son and appreciated the generous portion and option to customize. Overall, it was a good experience but not necessarily a standout or wow moment. Still, we'd go back!

DP ordered Lemon Berry Pancakes, a plate-filing short stack of goodness. I'd like to say it tasted as good as it looked, but I couldn't tell as DP chowed down like a hound from hell. In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

We said first available seats, which ended up being at the end of the bar. More about that later... I ordered the vegan standard and hubs ordered the banana bread French toast. The server was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner, considering the place was packed. Regarding the vegan standard, it seems they have cut back on the amount of tofu scramble and increased the amount of hashbrowns, which was a little bit disappointing. As usual it was very tasty though! I tried a bite of the hubs French toast and it was VERY unique and tasty! II will be getting that next time. I was disappointed to hear that they haven't brought back the vegan biscuits and gravy, but maybe once again they will! So the food was great but our experience, not so much, based on where we were sitting. I feel like they should not even use the last spot at the bar to seat a patron. Right next to where I was sitting is the place they bring the clean silverware to dry it off, then they would toss it into the silverware holder. The noise was very annoying and they did nothing to try to even be quiet about it. The other thing about that location is the register is pretty much right in your face, like 15 inches directly in front of me and someone was pretty much there the whole time. Other areas of the bar wouldn't be quite so bad, but next time we will wait longer to get a table or sit at the bar top that looks outside instead of at all the workers doing their thing and talking to each other. Other than the location of where we sat this visit, this is still one of our top spots for a yummy vegan breakfast, and we will be back!

The service was excellent and our server was attentive. Went there for their fried chicken which was highly recommended but was not a fan. The chicken is under seasoned and dry. Crisp and amazing with butter and jam. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as well which were tasty and crunchy, they came with tasty goat cheese and some sauce, while I do wish there was a bit more sauce it was still a great choice. The Mimosa flight was good but it wasn't anything special, I do wish for the cost that there was a bit more going on or even bigger portions. Overall good place to go with a good variety of options.

The chai was house made and it was SO great, like Christmas in a mug, just phenomenal. The food is different from other breakfast spots around Omaha. The croque miss was the breakfast sandwich special and it blew all other sandwiches out of the water. Thick bread, Dijon mustard, ham, and topped with 2 eggs! WOWOWOWOWOOWOW!! It was so complex and the flavors blended so well together! The only thing I wish there was more of was ham, just one more slice would have been great! After a couple of minutes, I went back up to the counter and asked if they had already started making it, because I wanted to change my order. The kitchen was open, so I said to the cook, "Don't worry about it if you've already started. I know my indecision can impact people, and I don't want to be a problem." He looked at me and said, "No, it's totally fine. Would you like some veggies on the side?" "Yes, that would be amazing," I said, and walked back to my table... and burst into tears. It wasn't just what he said. It was the kind energy in his eyes. I felt someone who took pride in what he was making, and who genuinely wanted people to be happy. I found myself asking, why am I crying? Because in a world where so many people in power feel disconnected, where corporations can make us feel like numbers, being genuinely cared for in a small café reminded me how much I love humans. Most people have love in their hearts and are trying to share it in their own small ways. As the world cracks, these simple things are more meaningful than ever.

They were fairly busy, and honestly our food took a bit to come out, but I am still giving a five due to the overall experience and quality of service. Our server Melannie was fantastic and always present. We did the bottomless mimosa deal (3 out of 4 of us) and she was always coming around asking us what flavor we wanted next when our current was still half full to make sure we got our moneys worth. The champagne might not be the fanciest, but for $20 bottomless mimosas I'll take it. They have fun flavors in addition to the basic ones like strawberry, mango, etc. which adds an element of fun. For food--there were several things I was eyeballing but landed on the spicy chorizo Benny. It was really good, eggs cooked perfect, and came with hashbrowns. Another at our table got the poutine which also looked yummy. I'd say the food portion could have included a bread/toast option, however If brunching in Omaha i'd return to try several things on the menu. The vibe inside is chill, would be more fun sitting outside once the weather warms up. Since I was the one that booked the reservation, the tab got a bit confusing. At first they were taking it off my total, then the server said that hold would come off so I paid for my meal/drinks there. I did end up getting double charged (for both the reservation hold and my meal) which was cleared up with a quick phone call to their establishment---apparently it is a new process they are trying. I do understand though why they wouldn't want to just deduct the hold as then people that don't know how to tip wouldn't tip on the total, which hurts the server.
