I've heard a lot about this place over the years and figured I would finally try it out but it definitely fell flat from my expectations. Service was great! Our waiter checked on us and was very quick when we asked for something! Overall the food was just basic which is not something you want when this place is more expensive than others. Hash browns were almost rubbery and not crunchy like you want them to be. Most things felt like it had been under a heat lamp which I highly doubt but only thing I could compare the texture of the food to. It just didn't wow me like I thought it would which was sad but maybe we just didn't order the right thing. read more

Came to Early Bird with family on a Wednesday morning around 830. Seated right away, no issue with waiting there was plenty of seating. Service from the moment we walked in was attentive and friendly. Our waiter gave plenty of recommendations as it was my first time and I was torn between menu items. Ended up getting what I originally wanted then my cousin got my other dish and we shared. They were both very tasty. Definitely recommend! read more

It was fine. I was looking for a basic breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, their hash browns (some weird herbs/spices - not a fan), bacon (it was overcooked so so crispy- touch with your fork and it literally shattered) and sourdough toast. I don't complain but I did this time and come to find out they should ask how you want your bacon cooked- the waitress said it was her fault because she clicked crispy as the choice. She didn't ask us so we didn't know there was a choice. The orange juice is great and generous for $3! read more

I've officially eaten at all 3 locations in Omaha. The food is always delicious and this location seems to be the largest. Our group had chocolate chip pancakes, a breakfast sandwich (on a biscuit, had blackberry jam but I can't recall the name) and the breakfast totchoes. All were hot, fresh, and flavorful. Went to the west center location today and wow what a difference compared to the village point location! No wait to be seated with only being on the online waitlist list for less than 5 minutes. Service was fast and friendly. Drinks came much more quickly than other location so I was able to have a 2nd one. ordered the bloody Mary came with the fried chicken sandwich and the sandwich was delicious corn beef hash was great and we really enjoyed the banana bread French toast. My son was dying to go to EB. Went on a day off from school so it was super chill. The hostess was so sweet and asked my son what he got for Christmas. The waiter was kind and made sure we got everything we needed. The selection for breakfast was good and unique in some areas but honestly pretty pricey for some of the basic stuff. Compared to some other places, this wouldn't be on the top of my list for much else other than super friendly staff. But I'd be back if someone really wanted to go. read more

We sat at the bar and the person behind the bar had tunnel vision. The music was so liter had to yell to get her attention when she was three feet away. The oil that everything was cooked in tasted old and rancid! We took a few bites of capri food and couldn't even eat it. We came around 9:15 am on a Monday and there were only a few other tables, so we had quick service. The server was friendly and helpful, she was great. My husband and I got cappuccinos, which tasted like they were made with instant espresso because they were oddly sweet. It was okay, but I wouldn't order again. The wonderful day sandwich was so good! I loved the buttery, crumbly biscuit and the jam made it a touch sweet. It was filling on its own, so I didn't finish my side. My friend enjoyed her unoriginal breakfast sandwich on a croissant and her iced latte. My husband really liked the chicken and waffles, especially the gravy. I cannot believe how many Early Bird locations there are in Omaha! The OG Blackstone location is still my favorite. This location is large, but they had a great variety of options whether you are in the mood for something healthier like avocado toast or more indulgent. I had a smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was good, but not my favorite benny in Omaha. I love the side of tots, great way to soak up the runny egg yolk. Service was great and we were able to easily get a table on a recent Saturday morning. read more

Came here with the girls on a Saturday morning brunch date (we decided that brunch is girls' version of golf). It was my first time at an Early Bird after moving to Omaha and it has such a cute and trendy vibe. The restaurant offered many gluten free/sensitive options which made dining with food restrictions so much easier. We ordered some nacho tater tots to share and I got their pork belly tacos. The food was mostly very good quality, but the side of fruit that I got had a weird taste (may be old or sitting out for too long). The service was also very good! read more

We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess, shown to our table and I was already feeling a lift in my spirits just by picking up the vibe of the staff. When I first went to Early Bird in Blackstone years ago, I was blown away by the unique menu. However, as they have expanded, I feel like the quality has gone down and the flashiness has dissipated. This location is much larger than some of the others and is well laid-out. My husband and I both had coffee and each ordered an omelette. He had the quesabirria omelette, and I tried the crab rangoon omelette. The coffee was decent and not super bitter, which I appreciate. Our omelettes were fine, but were they $17 worth of fine? Absolutely not. In particular, my crab rangoon omelette was STUFFED with shredded crab meat with barely any cream cheese. It was just not great. I also am Not a fan of the square hash brown. I get the aesthetic appeal, but it leaves way too much of the potato undercooked. A $50 breakfast for two with no appetizers and no alcohol should be fantastic, and this just wasn't. There are so many brunch spots in this corner of town; I can confidently say I probably won't venture back to Early bird. read more

The restaurant is huge with nice big open spaces and tons of seating. It is clean and modern. The food was decent nothing out of the ordinary or over the top. I was slightly disappointed with the service as my meal did not come our as I ordered it and I did not feel like sending it back. Excited to see an Early Bird in west Omaha! I've tried the one in Blackstone, Pacific street, and Papillion. So far, this restaurant lives up the same quality as the others. I went at 10am on a Sunday and joined the waitlist online... it was an hour long wait! Highly recommend checking the wait time during busy periods an hour before going. My friend and I ended up just sitting at the bar. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict was delicious and I highly recommend their hash-browns. Their menu had a wide variety of breakfast options with unique twists such as breakfast tacos, pot pies, to crab Rangoon omelets. Their servings are filling so be hungry! read more

This was our second time at an Early Bird and first time at this location and we are big fans. This new location is spacious and nice. The food was tasty. I got the crab cake Benny and my husband got the birria omelet. Both were delicious. Our server was on top of everything and very kind. Went to the soft opening of this Early Bird location today, and it was fantastic. Been to a couple soft openings of other establishments and this was one set a bar that will be extremely difficult to beat. The staff and restaurant were running this restaurant as if it had been opened for years already. The atmosphere is absolutely awesome, you walk in and the smell alone drives your hunger up. The dining room is well thought out. They have a mural on the left hand side that captures the location well, with a little zorinsky lake mention in it. The bar area is awesome as well, plenty of space for drinks and food. They have a dual use outdoor seating option with garage doors that can close on colder days. We loved sitting there today with the beautiful weather. Up next, the service. The staff was so nice and so well organized. We were regularly getting checked on. Any questions we had about the menu, they had answers for, and gave great recommendations. They were also very attentive, refills right before we ran out on cue, and timed everything extremely well with us. Now onto the food. Appetizers: Hash Holes, Cinny Bobs, and Cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls are the perfect combination of flaky, doughy, gooey, and the icing was just different but in a good way. Their icing is a vanilla buttercream icing that just hits different. I'm a fan. My new favorite sweet, the Cinny bobs, fried cinnamon roll dough bites on skewers that come with caramel and icing dips on the side. These are the very definition of getting the perfect cinnamon roll bite every time. I shamelessly ate these quickly without regard for sharing with the wife and kids. Hash holes, our new favorite savory. Hash croquettes stuffed with cheese and bacon, and queso to dip in. Need I say more? Just get them, trust me. Entrees: Avocado's jam- nice breakfast sammie on rye with ricotta, eggs, bacon, and bacon jam. Wife loved it, I didn't get to try it, but photo posted below. Chicken and Waffle: Plenty of Waffle with two chicken strips, eggs, and pork sausage gravy. Awesome balance of flavor and daughter claimed "now this is how you make chicken tenders". She ordered the adult portion because she's got a bottomless pit and enjoyed every bit of it. Pancakes and Waffles: Cinnamon roll pancakes, they are a fan favorite here for a reason. They are extremely rich in flavor and have the perfect density. Two pancakes portioned into four "rolls" and an awesome balance of flavors. It's also great because we got to share it four ways with our family of four. This is usually my go to, and I combo it with eggs, links, and add their hash browns. Bonus points here: The hash browns are seasoned and you can order them crispy. Love that they always ask. The game winner today, the Churro Waffle. Fried, cinnamon sugar galore, caramel and vanilla buttercream, whipped cream, so much goodness. Was curious when we ordered to see how "heavy" this might be, and it wasn't, at all. It went down dangerously easy, and was dangerously light. And now we're all full and happy. Would highly recommend it, they open up officially on October 7th. High quality food, service, in a fun atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try some other options. One last thing, they have an awesome drinks menu. We were lame today and just went with iced lattes and chocolate milk for the kids. But one of the best drinks menus I have seen at a brunch location. read more

Started off with a super unfriendly new server. Came off extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Completely messed up our order. The trainer, Kelly, told us it was our fault and that we ordered wrong, even after showing her the menu. They took no lack of responsible and basically threw cold toppings on top of our pancakes to call it good. Overall, the place lacked complete taste, was Overpriced. Food came out cold. Wont be here again. Not even that cool inside sat us right by the door and was cold. Manager came to talk to us but basically ran away after taking off one menu item. The food was great. We got a parking space right near the front even at brunch time there was no wait. The food was really good. We got enough for about four people between the two of us, which is always good in my book and the service was great, very prompt once we ordered, It was there within about seven minutes and the cost is just right for the amount of food that you get so I was happy all the way around, My friend whose last name happens to be flock coincided with one of the advertisements they had on their T-shirts so the manager gave me a T-shirt for my friend since it was our first time at his establishment. We've been here twice now and both experiences were poor. Service is good, ambience is loud and a little chaotic for breakfast, but par for the course at a place this size. I tried the breakfast pot pie, which sounds like a good idea, but the execution was dreadful. Pastry wasn't fully baked, and soaked in gravy it just became a stretchy, gluey mess, inedible. I also requested eggs over hard, and they were served runny. Server was kind and apologetic, but when she brought the replacement, I was told the cook arbitrarily decided to give me scrambled eggs instead of fried, "to make sure there wouldn't be any runny yolk." I'm not a fan scrambled eggs, so I just ate the gravy soaked hash browns at the bottom of the bowl. My wife went with an omelette, which was overcooked (dry and rubbery). She didn't finish it. On a positive note, the hash holes were hot and tasty. Overall, extremely disappointing considering how much we'd heard about this place over the years. (We tried to go to the Blackstone location a couple years ago, but they were very busy and were treated incredibly rudely by the host, so we left without trying it.) Was really hoping for a good breakfast option out west, but Saddle Creek Breakfast Club is still worth the drive (and the wait!) read more
