A nice addition to add to our Steakhouse list. The service was awesome. Friendly and attentive. Food was yummy. Started with soup appetizers. Clam chowder was thick as it should be bit as a native New Englander...I say to the chef 'hold on the carrots '! French onion was delish except one of the pieces of bread was hard and stale. Brussel sprouts were seasoned well and crispy. Filet was great! Cooked perfectly. Shrimp and scallops entree were awesome. Drinks at the bar were nice as we waited on our reservation. Such a great date night. Will return for sure!

I tried Legacy chophouse this week for dinner with a client and the experience was definitely a mixed bag, on one hand I'd have to give the staff 5 stars, everyone i dealt with from the bartenders to the girls at the hostess station were amazing, on the other hand I'd have to give the food 3 stars, it was just average, I am hoping i just caught them on an off night because I certainly want this place to succeed. The restaurant itself was nice, a large u shaped bar when you walk in and a big dining room full of oversized leather chairs and nice tables. This place also has two options for salad, either you can order from the menu or you can pay for the salad bar and make your own. I didn't quite know what to think if this since most higher end chophouses don't have a walk up salad bar, but it was good and I ultimately didn't hate it. We ordered the meatball appetizers, they came with bread and a chunky tomato sauce, they were good, but not amazing. I ordered the 8 Oz filet cooked medium rare with Brussels sprouts. The steak was overcooked to almost medium well and had very little seasoning, the sprouts were cooked very nicely, but again had very little seasoning. I ordered a piece of cheesecake to go and it was decent and had some nice toppings. Like I said, maybe I caught them on a bad night, and the staff was amazing, but there are so many amazing choices for high end steakhouses that I hope Legacy finds a way to stand out.

Food was very tasty. I ordered the Ribeye with Risotto. My steak was slightly undercooked which is why I gave it 4 vs 5 stars. Great ambiance. Staff was excellent! Always checked on us. Salad bar was fresh and clean with great variety. The table shared the bread pudding which was very large that it was taken home. I would go back and sample appetizers!

Our first time here for a very large birthday party was good! I love the renovations they've done on this interior, it is so classy, and upscale. The tables and chairs are beautiful and well picked. I loved the huge salad bar, and I ordered that with the steak. It was really great, overall maybe overpriced $26, but my husband was paying hehe. We also got thr cowboy caviar and it was excellent. Overall the service was slow but there were multiple large parties, so understandable. I ordered a mocktail drink, then a soda water, they did place water pitchers at the table which is nice. Bread is also served with dinner, very good. Overall great experience, we will definitely be back.

First time trying Legacy Chophouse. Had a very modern, sexy aesthetic. We unfortunately did not get the appetizer we ordered but love the return of a classic salad bar. I had the filet kabobs that were incredibly tender and the garlic mashed potatoes. This is definitely an elevated date night but overall was impressed.

Very glad we visited Legacy chophouse. We'd heard some things about its connection to the Drover and were very curious to see for ourselves. In comparing the two, legacy chophouse was slightly better in most categories. I loved the atmosphere. Slightly upscale, but still warm and comfortable. It feels reminiscent of jams and upstream, but definitely still has its own vibe. The table lights were very low to the table so it was hard to see my food. If the lamps were just a little taller, it would lend a lot more light to the eating area. I feel like there's a fine line between ambience and not being able to see. One thing that was odd was the salt shaker. They put coarse sea salt into an egg shaped salt shaker with a teeny tiny hole on top, so it took a really long time to get any salt out at all. I ended up turning it upside down and pouring a little out by opening up the refill stopper. A few notes about the food... Everyone enjoyed their entrées tremendously and there were very few complaints at a six person table. Fabulous prime rib. Cooked to a perfect medium rare. Needed a little salt. The brussels sprouts were quite tasty. Lobster bisque was too tomato based, and while there were some generous chunks of lobster in it, I just did not enjoy the flavor. FYI there's a $6 up charge for bisque as a soup option when you order a steak. The kids meals are pricey, but have very generous portions. I would recommend scaling back the amount of food offered, and also the price. Also a $3 up charge for chocolate milk for kids meal. Would have expected it to include a beverage. The service was fabulous. And the owner was very hands-on throughout the evening. He greeted us when we came in, and then unfortunately, a server spilled almost a whole tray of food onto a lady sitting across from us, and the owner was on site within 30 seconds to help his staff clean up. Handled the mishap very well. They've only been in business for about three months and they're getting a lot right. Just a couple of tweaks I would make, but I will definitely be back.

    Lobster Mac and Cheese

This new spot in Legacy is atmospheric, elegant, unique, and yet friendly all at the same time. The foggy fireplace adds quite an effect, and my friend and I were lucky enough to be seated next to it. Our server was very efficient and helpful. They have a separate person to take cocktail orders versus food orders, which made the experience feel unique in the level of care being provided for the meal. The lobster Mac and cheese was simply one of the most elevated Mac and Cheese experiences that I have ever had. The cheese was thick and creamy, and slightly sharp. What had my friend and I in surprise was that the garlic bread that accompanied it tasted like it had truffle incorporated, which was delicious! It also had a strong rosemary flavor, and was buttery flaky and melt in your mouth. While this location is definitely family friendly - you could also have a fancy date night here. Come support this new Omaha spot!

My husband and I moved out here from out of state and we love great food but don't always want to go downtown. Legacy chophouse is just what West Omaha needed. I'll agree with some posts that table service is a little different having a beverage and food server but they are still building and training... nothing to make me want to drop a star. Food has NEVER disappointed us and we both love the salad bar. We dine here about once a month. We love the bar service (we're bar people) but if we have guests visiting we'll get a table. Our past visit we actually went with seafood vs our usual tomahawk and it was all great! The restaurant has a fine dining vibe that meets family warmth. Oh, and their custom Moscow Mules are delicious!! I'd recommend the blueberry and raspberry!

I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was spectacular and got better the more we ate. The crab cakes melted in my mouth, the bruschetta packed a punch of flavor in a small bite, and the filet was so tender I could cut it with my fork. This is one of the few restaurants left with a salad bar and they executed it perfectly with vibrant colors and crisp lettuce. The absolutely star of the show was the roasted sweet corn. The service was attentive, we couldn't more than a few seconds with an empty plate in front of us without someone grabbing it. My only complaint is that it's very noisy, so you have to talk pretty loudly to carry on a conversation.

French onion soup. Hot and tasty.
    Jen D.

Such a disappointment. There are many great restaurants in Omaha and we are always willing to try somewhere new. But you have to deliver. The old fashioned my husband had was good and the French onion soup was hot. Those are the only positives in our experience. A steakhouse charging high end prices...paper napkins? Nope. Brown plates that make the food look so unappetizing? Nope. Cold truffle fries. Nope. Sub par quality prime rib, also cold. Just yuck. A prime rib melt with completely soggy inedible bread, goodness no. My red sangria had soda in it...hmmm...and at least half was soda. That's not sangria. Server was such a struggle, wouldn't clear our appetizer plate or soup bowl. Just left them even after bringing entrees. It was Mother's Day so they had an alternate menu and were clearly just pushing food with little care for quality. We won't be back and that's too bad, we had high hopes.

Omaha has long been a beacon of beef, known for some of the best steaks in the country--if not the world. Anytime I host out-of-town friends, family, or clients, their first request is almost always a steak. Because when in Rome... For years, I've felt confident that no matter where we were in Omaha, a quick Yelp search would yield solid steakhouse recommendations. That is, until recently--when Legacy Chophouse managed to do the unthinkable: serve a steak so uninspired, so offensively bland, that it single-handedly tarnished the city's proud beef legacy. I know what you're thinking: Wow, Justin, that's dramatic. It can't be that bad. Yes. It. Can. And yes, it is. Allow me to explain. Walking in, the place was dimly lit, and once we were seated, it was borderline deafening thanks to the high, exposed metal ceiling. Their website and Yelp profile claim it's the area's newest "modern-rustic steakhouse." I'm confused--does the wood paneling make it rustic? Is it the food? Because I wasn't getting much "modern" beyond the LED-lit fireplace, which, honestly, looked like it belonged in a high-end vape lounge. But the real identity crisis? They call themselves Legacy Chophouse... while also claiming to be the newest steakhouse in the area. Different words. Different meanings. But maybe that explains the overall confusion here--because that theme carried right into the food. I'll admit, I did like the comfortable lounge chairs, which could have made for a great dining experience--had we not been sitting in a concert hall masquerading as a restaurant. Reading the menu under the dim table lights was a challenge, but no worries--we had nearly 15 minutes to squint our way through it before a server acknowledged our existence. The Service: A Masterclass in Absence When our server finally arrived, he seemed completely unaware we had been sitting there waiting, so we spared him the reminder and just hit him with the full order. Given his frazzled demeanor, my confidence in getting the correct food was low, but hey, hope is a powerful thing. A small bright spot: the salad bar. Stocked with fresh, crisp ingredients and ice-cold plates, it was the closest thing to a highlight of the evening. I'd heard whispers that the folks behind The Drover (a true Omaha steakhouse institution) were somehow involved with Legacy Chophouse, so I was thrilled to see that influence here. But if they really are I wish they had brought more than just a decent salad bar. Maybe something minor--like, I don't know, flavor? The Drinks: A Brief Respite Before the Downfall Back at our table, our drinks were waiting--and they were great. Perfectly crafted. Kudos to the bar staff. Unfortunately, that would be our first and last round, as our server practically vanished after the food arrived. I didn't have time to express my concerns before he disappeared, mainly because I was too busy trying not to choke on the driest prime rib I've ever encountered. Ordered medium-rare. Served well-done, leathery, and devoid of any natural juices. I drowned it in au jus in a desperate attempt to revive it, but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Across from me, my date wrestled with her 6oz sirloin and Brussels sprouts, her expression making it clear that she, too, was in the trenches. They say you eat with your eyes first--and based on her face, this was shaping up to be a battle. The Food: A Steakhouse Without the Steak Both of our steaks were bland and uninspired, completely failing to live up to even the lowest of Omaha steakhouse standards. The Brussels sprouts? Somehow both mushy and flavorless. My mashed potatoes? Cold, dry, and in desperate need of seasoning. We tried to add salt, only to find that the shaker was filled with sea salt--which, unfortunately, was paired with a shaker hole not designed for sea salt. A square peg, round hole kind of situation. Much like this entire restaurant. Ultimately, the biggest fans of the meal were our dogs, who feasted on the leftovers after we cut them into chewable portions. Final Verdict: The Only "Legacy" Here is Disappointment The restaurant's Yelp page describes it as a "charming steakhouse with a foggy fireplace and standout lobster mac & cheese." That just about sums it up--if you're here for ambiance and overpriced lobster mac, you might leave happy. I truly wanted this place to be great, especially since the west side desperately needs more than just sports bars and pub fare. But this wasn't just disappointing--it was an egregious assault on the taste buds! And if the fine folks behind The Drover are, in fact, partners? My advice: Stay very silent --so your actual legacy remains intact. Because Legacy Chophouse is currently living up to exactly one word in its name: Chopped. Good luck, Legacy Chophouse - ya know if the steak/chophouse doesn't work, Legacy Lobster Mac has a nice ring to it.

Shrimp & Scallops with Brûléed Sweet Potato
    Hayley B.

Legacy Chophouse has definitely caught my attention. Most steakhouses offer some sort of shrimp, and maybe lobster or salmon which taste alright but nothing impressive. It's hard in the Midwest. That was not an issue here! There were multiple seafood options available that all sounded wonderful! These scallops were absolutely divine. Melt in your mouth. Subtle but delicious flavor. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. The brûlée sweet potato tasted more like a dessert than a side to a main course. The salad bar has chilled plates which was a nice touch and then all your standard salad bar toppings and dressings. My only critique is that for the price, I would love to see fresher ingredients at the salad bar or maybe better lettuces than your standard romaines, maybe a "house" dressing that is different from the standard dressings. You will be served by two waiters during your visit. One for drinks, one for food. On busier nights I think this will help to even out the workload to maintain a high level of service. Very interesting to experience. If Legacy Chophouse can maintain this level of quality and service this restaurant should be around for a very long time.

Sirloin and onion rings with peppercorn sauce

Loved. Steak had great taste even before the peppercorn sauce. Pace of the evening was excellent. It was nice for once to not have the appetizer show up five seconds before the entree. Salad bar looked great (I opted for soup--it was leg day at the gym ). Fantastic experience and great 40th birthday dinner.

We started off getting their special Christmas cocktails. I got the Snow Bird and my husband got the Not the buttons. The drinks were pretty disappointing, my husband couldn't even finish a quarter of his. The Snow Bird had a coconut foam on top that was absolutely gross in my personal opinion, but the drink itself was fine once I got the straw and avoided the foam. Both of us got burgers with fries and the burgers were very delicious. I would have liked to have some seasonings on the fries though. The staff were welcoming and as attentive as they could be with only having two of them managing about 7 tables and one bartender. The space is very festive and decorated so cozy. Their theming and decor is always phenomenal and truly makes the experience magical. I have most recently gone to their halloween pop-up, and their Christmas one as well, and both were equally jaw-dropping when it comes to presentation. The service is always great as well, and our first time at Barnato we were confused on how to locate the speakeasy (since we had never been to one before) and the staff was very helpful. My one note is that their holiday mixed drinks have consistently been nicer to look at than to taste, but we mostly come for the theming anyhow.
