I had a wonderful dinner with my friends there a couple of weeks ago. We had reservations and were seated immediately. I had never been, so the waiter explained the entire menu to me which really helped when it came time to choose what I wanted to order. He was patient, kind, and very helpful. My friends and I ordered with the intention of sharing everything. The sushi was so delicious! They are beautifully presented and came out quickly. We also ordered drinks--would highly recommend! I can't wait to go back!
This has been sitting in my review drafts. Stopped in here this afternoon while walking around. Saw that they had a decent Happy Hour offering. Ordered the sunomono and some sushi. Sunomono salad was tasty and was served quickly. Hamachi was soft, tender, and flavorful but a pretty small portion. Possibly because of Happy Hour? Tuna nigiri lacked flavor and were some of the smallest pieces of sushi I've been served at a sushi restaurant. Service was quick. Pretty quiet but it was a weekday in February around 4pm.
It's about time I leave a glowing review for Blue Sushi! I have loved this restaurant over the years and it has always been a staple for great happy hours, elevated dinners, and go-to's for nights out or even ordering in! First off, the vibes are immaculate. The atmosphere feels like i'm in a bigger city! Second, the most important part, the food and drinks are incredible. Their sushi is great with some fun, unique rolls but their apps are out of this world. I could just eat apps and not even get sushi. I'm obsessed with the itchy salmon, cherry bomb, and yellowtail serrano small plates. I would say those are a must get for me. As for a rolls, you really can't go wrong with anything BUT recently the Amazon roll changed my life. All the cocktails are delicious so again, hard to go wrong! They have a bunch of sake which is always fun to drink when having sushi too. We love visiting during late night or reserve happy hours. They have a lot of great options for discounted apps, rolls, and drinks so you'll definitely find something great on the happy hour menu! Overall, Blue Sushi is one of my top restaurants in Omaha! This is a must try place if you haven't been or are visiting the city!
I tend to avoid chain places even though I travel 3-4 nights/week. However, I really wanted sushi in Omaha so here we are. I ate at the bar upstairs. It was a little quieter than the main downstairs room. Service was excellent. I don't eat a lot so this was more than enough. Ebi nigiri is my favorite and the standard by which I judge any sushi place and this was great! Will be back!

I have since been on countless hangouts with friends, sister nights out, and date nights with my boyfriend. The fun, dimly lit restaurant makes the dining experience feel luxurious and exclusive, and the food is absolutely amazing. I always get the Crunchy LA and Hawaiian Roll, and their cocktail menu is amazing. Blue Sushi also boasts a great happy hour, and you can get a meal and drink for a decent price. The servers are very sweet and knowledgeable of their menu, so I have always received the best recommendations from them!
I wanted a little sushi takeout for lunch. I got a kids bento box to go. It comes with a sushi roll (your choice from the kids menu), a choice of noodles or rice, fruit and edamame. Not shown in the photo is nice little containers of pickled ginger and wasabi. . It was super easy to order and pay online. The online system says when the takeout package will be ready at the front door. And exactly like the online system said, my lunch box was ready.
Walked by this restaurant while looking for a place for lunch. They were busy, which indicated their popularity. We were seated quickly and found their Happy Hour menu was good until 6:30 pm. We ordered a few items off their regular and HH menus. My husband had a sake bomb and I tried their Passion Paloma. Sushi was fresh. It was a very enjoyable meal. Service was great and we got to chat with the manager who came by to check on us. I'd go back if I were in the area again.
Blue Sushi Sake Grill is never a miss! The servers are always so polite and accommodating. The restaurant is also always clean, which is a plus. I love to start my dinner with the Mango Rangoons. The mango sauce is so tasty and there is also a spice to it, which is nice. For dinner, I had the Philadelphia Roll with the smoked salmon. You can either get smoked or raw salmon, but the smoked is always delicious. The Beef Hot Rock was also very good. It is nice that you can cook it yourself too. Can't wait to go back!
If I have the option to choose dinner, 9/10 times I'm coming to Blue! I love coming to Blue during happy hour! The drinks are always amazing, appetizers are flavorful and the entrees are fire! Drinks: White peach daiquiri and Samurai Sake Tini, literally amazing! So full of flavor! I like the popping boba in the daiquiri and the balance of the Tini! Appetizers: miso soup, so great! I loved it with mushrooms! The Brussel sprouts are the best thing on the menu in my opinion, they have a great sauce on them and just the right amount of crisp! Entrees: the Shiitake to me is vegan, it was good but not great. It is a warm roll, it's not packed with flavor but it is good! I always order a Philadelphia roll, it's the best roll (in my opinion). I get it with smoked salmon and I eat it all, it's perfect. The Tekka was great, good fish and a solid roll. The service was wonderful as always, we always get a wonderful server! If you have a chance to sit in Heidi's section, I highly recommend her! The vibe is very casual, get your sushi fill and then go into a food coma on your sofa afterwards!
This was my first time at blue sushi, but not my last time. I went with co-workers and we got fried calamari and crab wontons for the appetizers. And I got 2 sushi rolls, one was made from mushrooms and did not have meat, and the other one had ahi tuna. They have a plethora of sushi rolls to choose from, and they also have a wide variety of cocktails. I chose a cucumber Martini. Everything was super tasty and fresh. The food came out quickly, and I would definitely come back here again when I'm in town.
I love blue sushi, and now I love this location!! It's in a great spot near down town and the old market. They have tons of seating, and upstairs area, and an outdoor patio. They have a great selection of sushi, vegan sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and cocktails. They also have an excellent happy hour menu. I loved my China Doll cocktail. It was sweet and strong. The sushi is always fresh and flavorful. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They're popular for a reason!! They can be very busy so make sure to get a reservation. Very cool vibes.

The drinks were a 10/10. Love how it's the same recipe, every location. I was surprised when I found out the establishment had more than one floor. I love how the concepts of all Blue Sake Sushi are the same. The ambience of the place is just aesthetically appealing. Wherever I travel as long as there is a Blue Sake Sushi, I'll be there.
Blue Sushi Sake Grill absolutely exceeded my expectations! The sushi was so good I forgot to take a picture of the rolls I ordered. My sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented every bite. I had the Thriller and cloud 9 rolls. Their menu has an incredible variety, from classic rolls to creative, unique options that make it hard to choose (in the best way possible). My drink was perfectly balanced and paired so well with my meal. A special shoutout to Courtney, my waitress, who was amazing from start to finish. She made spot-on recommendations for both sushi and drinks, and you could tell she really knows the menu inside and out. Her friendly, upbeat energy added so much to the experience. The atmosphere here is vibrant yet relaxed perfect for a night out with friends, date night, or even a solo sushi fix. I'll definitely be back!
Had a great time being able to sit outside and enjoy this unusually great June weather! For not being very full, there were a large amount of to-go orders and those made everything else take a bit longer. I was so excited to eat the roles that I forgot to get a picture but I tried a new one, the Lion King, and I liked it a lot. I think they could've put half the sauce on it though and it would've allowed the roll to be the focus. The Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita was very good and spicier than I would've predicted! We also enjoyed the entertainment with the little birds that wanted to visit and get some rice! read more
We were impressed to find a sushi restaurant right next to our hotel in Old Market. And, it has an all day Happy Hour until 6:30 pm every day! Food (5/5): Charred Edamame with spicy with garlic, tamari & togarashi Crispy Rice Cake Contains raw seafood, shellfish, beef or egg. topped with spicy bigeye tuna, scallion & tataki sauce Itchy Salmon: this odd little 2 pieces of warm spicy crab was good, but it had a really weird taste. Hot popper: This roll was my hubby's favorite. It was tempura jalapeño and cream cheese wrapped in a soy paper. Truffle salmon: I loved the seared salmon that was lightly drizzled with truffle oil. Tidal Wave: This was my absolute favorite - the tempura crab and cream cheese was a really great roll. Service (4/5): A bit slow - we went here twice. Atmosphere (4/5): We first came in around 6pm and it was crowded..We were able to get a seat at the bar. The second time we came in right when it opened and got a lovely seat against the window. read more
I love that Blue in the old market has a lot of seating inside, upstairs, and on the patio. They can usually get you seated pretty quickly but if they're busy, it can take a minute to get seated and served. All the food I've tried there is delicious though! I loved the truffle salmon and the lion king is my go to roll! I also tried the china doll drink and it was super tasty. Overall, the food is good but I always go for happy hour for better prices. read more

Tidal wave up front, and Crunchy red in back. I will say the tidal wave honey wasabi sauce was too sweet for me. I was hoping the wasabi would kick up the spice but it was mainly sweet. For someone who likes sweet it's probably perfect! Crunchy red though...the star. Sounds weird but is awesome. Despite the name it needs something inside (IMO) that is crunchy to give some texture to the roll. Maybe add a veg or cucumber? Notes for next time. Drinks - had the Samurai Saketini (over ice) and the Winter Warrior sake. Both fantastic. WW was dry and not sweet, cold. Service was nice even though they were busy. Sat at the bar by choice, restaurant seemed busy right away and stayed that way until we left. Rocking and rolling as best they could. Overall vibe of the place was nice. Nice music. Everyone was helpful. You can tell the sushi and produce quality is great. We had a nice experience. We will be back. Thank you so much for the love on our first time in. read more
We showed up here just in time for happy hour. I think we got lucky because it was a day where the upstairs was open, so even though we couldn't get a reservation there was space. If the upstairs isn't open, I'd expect it to be pretty crowded and hard to get in. The selection on happy hour for both drinks and food was pretty good. I'm used to places only having a couple of items for happy hour and not much of a discount but this was a pleasant surprise in terms of selection and pricing. I tried the mango rangoons which were an interesting take on crab rangoon. They were so tasty that I forgot to share, then again so did one of the people that was part of my party so I don't feel quite so guilty, but that tells you how delicious they are. The sushi rolls were also very fresh and had good flavor. I will be back! read more

Ok ok.. this place was not only was it super nice but they really have good food. Sake bombs for the win and some amazing sushi and not to mention the crab Rangoon's with that special mango sauce. Ufff 10/10. Ambience , service and food was simply perfect to join with better half. read more
Derek and I had an impromptu date night when we decided to stop here for happy hour sushi. The place was packed, but we were seated very quickly at a bar side table. I opted for the happy hour margarita and spicy edamame. We later went to order a few sushi rolls and more drinks. I love their spicy edamame that is always cooked perfectly. My California roll was fresh and tasty as well. Great location to be able to walk around and take advantage of multiple areas happy hour specials, but they have a decent list of food, appetizers, and drinks to check out. read more

This is my second location I've been to of Blue Sushi, and the quality does not change! We love coming here when we visit as it is most often the first place we stop at. Plenty of seating at this location, great specials for lunch & if you sign up for their rewards program you get % off your meal (or next meal I can't remember). Server was friendly and attentive. read more
The margaritas are incredible here. I always get the Hawaiian rolls and they never disappoint. Most of their rolls are good. This is definitely a place where reservations are encouraged as they are always busy. But for good reasons. Their food is incredible. read more

This place NEVER gets old! My absolute favorite sushi spot by far, and the best prices around if you come on happy hour! I worked here for a summer and still LOVE coming in if that tells you anything about the food and atmosphere! Always great service, consistent dishes, and the freshest fish in Omaha. Located in a trendy area of downtown Omaha. Popular sushi restaurant that had a waiting list at 5pm!! Even in Seattle, the crowds don't show up until 6. That must tell you something. Once we got seated the server was so friendly and helpful. We ordered the spicy garlic edamame and at the suggestion of our server, got it charred. They added another layer of depth for flavoring and was addictive! I also ordered the miso soup. Which was fantastic. Super good flavor. I ordered the Godzilla Bomb and The Beach for rolls. Each roll was topped with a Serrano pepper which added a little heat, so beware. Rolls were super delicious and packed with amazing flavor. read more
I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty busy, but I was able to snag a seat at the sushi bar as a solo diner. Food: I ordered the lunch special which came with miso soup or salad and two maki rolls. I got the veggie miso soup to start. The miso soup was pretty good! It came with mushrooms which I loved. I ordered the avo kaluna and the unami maki. The avo kaluna didn't come with the sweet soy it was supposed to, but it was really good. The vegan tuna was realistic to me that I asked if I indeed got the right roll. The unami maki was delicious. The eggplant was very good in there. Service: Service was short and sweet. I was able to order soon after seating, and my food came out promptly. I came during a shift change too apparently, but that didn't affect me at all. Blue Sushi Sake Grill in Downtown Omaha is a new favorite for us! It has a great vibe, and they have an upstairs seating area, too, so it's really big. They offer their happy hour menu on Sundays from 12-9pm, so that was a bonus when we stopped in for lunch. It's a great value. We ordered the Itchy Salmon (10/10), Cabo Roll (8/10), and Tidal Wave Roll (10/10). So yummy!! Our server was great, too. She was attentive, friendly, and gave A+ recommendations to help us order. Long story short, 5/5 in every single regard. Ambiance and vibe is fantastic on the inside with an awesome small patio to enjoy on a perfect evening like tonight. Service was immaculate. Kolin presented a masterclass in service and hospitality tonight. I have been in the restaurant business for over a decade and have managed multiple restaurants in Texas and any of the teams I've ran would be lucky to have someone like Kolin on board. Every recommendation was spot on, menu knowledge was flawless. Give that man a raise! Lastly, the food. Every bite was incredible, even the less impressive things were fantastic. Shout out to the entire BoH staff for kicking food out quickly without sacrificing quality in the slightest. If you've made it this far in reading, do yourself a favor and get the crab soup, San Marcos roll and yellowtail sashimi with Serrano and cilantro. Not placing in the top three but definitely a necessary order is the lion king roll. I met the AGM at the host stand to commend the experience we had tonight and she was very kind as well. My sister and I took our kids here today after the zoo and were able to use our passport passes to get them each a free kids bento box. I found all of the staff to be extremely kind and welcoming. Sometimes when people say that you are bringing kids along they aren't as eager to help you! I found my experience at Blue be completely the opposite! Our server, Courtney, was definitely one of the best servers I've ever had at a restaurant. She was polite, patient, and extremely attentive to our needs! My sister and I both ended up getting the lunch special which was a pretty good deal.!We both chose to get a house salad and selected two sushi rolls. I selected the Tidal Wave and Crunchy L.A. for my rolls. Everything tasted very fresh and were beautifully assembled. Each kids bento box had your choice of entrée and side and came with edamame and fruit! The kids loved their meals! I would have to admit, as a graduate student, being able to find a happy hour with delicious food is a godsend. Then at blue has a ton of options, but the happy hour menu has all of my favorites. The tidal wave has always been my favorite with the eel sauce and honey topping. I decided to try one of their nonalcoholic drinks on the menu and the dragonfruit lemonade was amazing!! It was very brightly colored and brought a huge smile to my face. The server my friend and I had was so lovely and made sure we were taken care of! Their establishment is always clean and has a very nice modern feel to it. I've always loved blue, but their happy hour will always have my heart! read more

This location is very busy so be prepared to wait for a table. They will take your number and send you a text when your table is ready. It's super convenient so you can go explore the Old Market. The staff were friendly and helpful with the ressie. Like everywhere in the Old Market parking is a pain, find a garage. Food: All day happy hour on Sunday had us exploring a bit more. We got the charred edamame for the first time. We totally missed out before. I am a BIG fan! Brings a layer of flavor complexity that you don't want to miss. The cucumber app was a nice light flavor profile which crunch. My husband got the Snow White with Sea Bass (his new favorite). It is less pieces than average so be aware when you order. Vegetarian Rolls: My favorite roll on the menu by far is the Eden Roll. The crunch of the asparagus with the edamame hummus on top is a game changer. I can't go without ordering this one. The veggie sushi list is quite long and they have been adding fish substitutes if you're into that. I have not tried them. read more
The sushi and service were great! We tried the Lion King, Cowgirl, and Crunchy Blue rolls, and each one was delicious, especially the Lion King, which was a new one for us. As an appetizer, we had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts with lemon miso and cashews. They were perfectly crispy without being burnt, and they had a great flavor. The China Doll cocktail was a well-balanced drink with a sweet and sour taste, and it had a pretty garnish! We sat upstairs by a window overlooking 12th Street. It is a really cool and fun area.
