This has been sitting in my review drafts. Stopped in here this afternoon while walking around. Saw that they had a decent Happy Hour offering. Ordered the sunomono and some sushi. Sunomono salad was tasty and was served quickly. Hamachi was soft, tender, and flavorful but a pretty small portion. Possibly because of Happy Hour? It's about time I leave a glowing review for Blue Sushi! I have loved this restaurant over the years and it has always been a staple for great happy hours, elevated dinners, and go-to's for nights out or even ordering in! First off, the vibes are immaculate. The atmosphere feels like i'm in a bigger city! Second, the most important part, the food and drinks are incredible. Their sushi is great with some fun, unique rolls but their apps are out of this world. I could just eat apps and not even get sushi. I'm obsessed with the itchy salmon, cherry bomb, and yellowtail serrano small plates. I would say those are a must get for me. As for a rolls, you really can't go wrong with anything BUT recently the Amazon roll changed my life. All the cocktails are delicious so again, hard to go wrong! They have a bunch of sake which is always fun to drink when having sushi too. We love visiting during late night or reserve happy hours. I loved it with mushrooms! The Brussel sprouts are the best thing on the menu in my opinion, they have a great sauce on them and just the right amount of crisp! Entrees: the Shiitake to me is vegan, it was good but not great. It is a warm roll, it's not packed with flavor but it is good! I always order a Philadelphia roll, it's the best roll (in my opinion). In general have a great experience at Blue, and we often go with our 2 toddlers - this location does get hectic (busy) on the weekends and the volume can be loud, so just keep that in mind. I'm used to places only having a couple of items for happy hour and not much of a discount but this was a pleasant surprise in terms of selection and pricing. I tried the mango rangoons which were an interesting take on crab rangoon. They were so tasty that I forgot to share, then again so did one of the people that was part of my party so I don't feel quite so guilty, but that tells you how delicious they are. Food: I ordered the lunch special which came with miso soup or salad and two maki rolls. I got the veggie miso soup to start. The miso soup was pretty good! It came with mushrooms which I loved. I ordered the avo kaluna and the unami maki. The avo kaluna didn't come with the sweet soy it was supposed to, but it was really good. The vegan tuna was realistic to me that I asked if I indeed got the right roll. The unami maki was delicious. The eggplant was very good in there. Service: Service was short and sweet. I was able to order soon after seating, and my food came out promptly. I came during a shift change too apparently, but that didn't affect me at all. The patio is small - probably about 10 tables of various sizes total. They run happier open-630p so we ordered raspberry mojitos and a couple rolls off the happy hour menu.
