Came here recently and there is a new menu and new booths from when I came a few months ago. Food is still good, so definitely still suggest that you come and check it out. I especially suggest eating the Hawaiian food.

another top recent find for us. incredible prices, great service, & unique options. they're gonna be seeing a lot of us. it was hopping when we were there for din & for good reason!!! honolulu garlic chicken bento: only $12 for all of it. insane!!!! chicken entree (slightly less of a portion than the plate), california roll, rice, ocean salad, veggie base, gyoza, & miso soup. chicken has a ton of flavor & sushi was fresh. bluefin tuna poke bowl: again, so fresh. some of the best bang for your buck seafood you'll find in omaha. topped with shoyu poke sauce. gyoza w/ pork & veggies.

Best spam musubi when I want my Hawaii fix. Friendly service and great tasting food. Lots of seating cleans bathrooms and great foods like katsu , udon and drinks.

I've been to blue Hawaii twice now and really enjoyed it for lunch! It would also be a good place to take kids because the food comes out really quick and there are many many many options to choose from, oh of course it's all delicious too so that helps! Kind of like a fast casual buffet that they deliver directly to your table!

Always the best experience and food here. We have eaten in and out from here before and each time the food is amazing and the staff is so kind. Inside is nice and clean, nothing special but not bad at all. They bring your food to your table and it's quick service. Amazing food per usual!

We stopped in about 30 minutes before closing and they mentioned if we could order right away that it was fine to dine in still, we appreciated it. We ordered a dumpling appetizer right away and had it to our table within five minutes, our server even had recommendations for us since it was our first time in. After ordering, we had our food within seven minutes, piping hot and delicious! We probably ordered, ate, and paid within fifteen minutes. Shout out to our server, his name started with an M, sorry for not remembering it.

This place is a hidden gem in Omaha! As you walk in, you can tell it was going to be a relaxed place for a family lunch. The owner is from Hawaii and delivers authentic, large portions of Hawaiian food. The Honolulu garlic chicken was a great blend of garlic and sweet flavors. The macaroni was a favorite with a light mayo as the base. We could have shared this dish but I was happy for leftovers. The staff and owners came over to ask how our meal was and couldn't have been more friendly!

Starting with the positives: this place had a very cute vibe with instrumental ukulele music playing and nice decor. The server Kevin was very nice and service was quick. The food's presentation was cute in the little bowls and plated nicely. Now for the negatives: As someone actually from Hawaii, this was like the touristy version of Hawaiian food. It lacked seasoning and taste. All 3 of our dishes were not enjoyable. Real Hawaiian food is seasoned heavily and not over cooked. The chicken was the best part. This was too bland for me to consider coming back.

Food and service was phenomenal. Everyone there was so nice and absolute must are the sushi tacos. The food came out super fast. They have an eaten or carry out option so if you're looking for a fast meal or a quick bite to grab, this is definitely the location. Everything was super fresh. I highly recommend. Very clean and fun environment.

Such an interesting place! I loved the selection of Hawaiian food that I've never seen before. The food was tasty and it felt like home. The inside was quiet; I feel like most people order it to go rather than eat in. I would like to come back and try more items, as well as the sushi

We love Blue Hawaii! We have been going regularly now (probably once a week) and everything we try is great. The Shoyu Poke bowl or Chicken Katsu bowl for lunch is only $10 or less and is made quick. They have Hawaiian breakfast, sushi, shrimp, chicken and whatever you'd like. Service is quick and friendly.

I am not saying "do not go there." Maybe on another day, the food and service could be better. I ordered Korean style Seafood Saimin...but they brought out the short rib saimin. I decided to keep it, rather than make a deal about it and send it back. One piece of meat was very tough (but it was edible). The other piece was almost entirely composed of fat and not edible. I did like the broth...so I can see how some customers may be happy with their experience. I told them about bringing the wrong food...and explained that I was fine with being brought the wrong food. However, I was disappointed that when I showed them the meat that was nearly all fat, the response was to thank me for letting them know. My fiancée is Japanese...so we have been trying a lot of ramen and noodle places...and she thought her food was okay, but not anything special. As I said, the broth was good...and on another night...maybe the experience is better...but I don't see myself in that restaurant again.

The Fukui cocktail (cucumber vodka flavors) is a great pairing with the menu items. One thing I really enjoy about this restaurant is that you order as you go, so you never leave hungry and it's a safe bet that you won't over order. The wait staff will frequently check in on you and see if you need to order more. The Bunzai Buns (runza inspired) and Gyoza are my favorite options outside of the sushi. The Gyoza are fresh, chewy, and are paired with a very flavorful sauce. Our favorite Nigiri is the Sea Bream And you truly can't go wrong with any of the rolls. Don't forget to end your meal with the cereal milk ice cream! Reservations are highly recommended as time slots will fill up fast. The atmosphere is well thought through - I enjoy how it is fairly dark in there, but the lights are shining so they are focused on the food. Can't recommend this restaurant enough!

I got the cocktail that was similar to a Paloma, very delicious.

We walked in at 5:15 PM, sat down, and the place was packed within minutes. Not an empty seat in sight--good timing on our part! Our server greeted us quickly, and after a quick look at the drink menu, we went all in with water, Coke Zero (YES, a Coke Zero establishment!), and a cocktail--the amusingly named Sex in Okinawa. No regrets. As the sushi train made its rounds, we grabbed a crab rangoon. It was tasty but had cooled off from its little journey, so we opted for a fresh batch from the kitchen. The spring rolls? Crispy, hot, and on point. I did have to ask for sriracha a few times (our server kept forgetting), but to be fair, they were busy, so I didn't hold it against them. One thing we noticed was that some of the sushi rolls lacked descriptions. A tiny sign with ingredients would be helpful. I am a sushi newbie, and I wasn't about to roll the dice on a Volcano Roll without knowing what was inside. For what I did try: California rolls - classic and exactly what you'd expect. Sexy jalapeño - surprisingly good! (If there was fish in there, I didn't notice.) Tempura sweet potato roll - crispy, slightly sweet, and a winner. Pro tip: They offer a veteran/military discount, but double-check your receipt--ours wasn't applied at first, but they fixed it without issue. Final bill: about $68, and let's be honest, a good chunk of that was drinks. Not bad for a fun dinner out! Would I go back? Absolutely. There's plenty more to try, and the atmosphere makes for a great night with friends. Final Verdict: Worth the ride!

If you heard about a sushi omakase place in the middle of America, what would you think? I bet…read moreit's probably not fresh-tasting raw dishes or wow-level sushi omakase. But there is a James Beard-level recognized chef here, in Omaha, that is delivering fresh-tasting raw and other omakase dishes week after week - geography be damned. His name is David Utterback. It's incredibly difficult to get reservations at this eight-seat omakase called Ota. Moreso than any omakase in my hometown on an island in the middle of the Pacific. In fact, I dont think he needs this review - the best don't need to advertise. I also don't think we have a sushi chef here in Hawaii that is as nationally-acclaimed as Utterback. So we were very interested to try. And we were very lucky to get reservations. I dont think there is a parking lot for this restaurant, which is tucked within his also highly-regarded Yoshitomo restaurant. So if you from Hawaii like me, and get lucky with the reservations, gotta roll da dice on parallel street parking. That's code for come early ;) (parking is free in the area) W-h-e-n you do arrive at Yoshitomo, there is a small - hidden - waiting area within Yoshitomo where you will be asked to wait for the omakase to begin. The dark photo with the lantern and Ota sign is in that waiting room. - And frankly - That's all that needs to be shown in a photo cause the omakase course itself varies depending on chef's tastes and what's available that week. The courses we had will likely not be the entirety of the courses you have. But the rice might be the same. There is a special black vinegar that chef uses to add to the rice. Ask him about it. There is a whole story behind it ;) So my photos are small in number. They are the highlights of our experience and what stood out to me that is beyond anything I've tried in Hawaii or elsewhere (including the black-vinegar sushi rice) Enjoy - cause we most certainly did :)
