The BEST kalua pig and cabbage out of Hawaii! The portions are so worth it for the price and I usually have leftovers for the next day. I love the curry rice as well which has a good kick to it and they have a bunch of sauces available when dining in. Why does some of the food and desserts taste like a fragrant detergent or cleaning product? I will not be returning.

My husband grew up in the Philippines and loves to try Filipino restaurants whenever we come across one. He has frequented this establishment several times since being in Nebraska. She may be the only restaurant here. He says that the food is very authentic and it gives great portion sizes. Tuesdays they have a buffet where you can try all the different items on the menu. Dinner is only on Fridays. We arrived when it opened around 11, and ordered our food. It arrived less than 10 min later, hot and fresh. We met the owner and chef and she was really sweet and told us of her different specials and the days they are going to have live music and other events. Her daughter ran the cash register and she was super friendly and helpful with helping us select meal choices. They were both super chatty and nice. Everything tasted wonderful, authentic, hot, fresh and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be returning. read more

Please don't take that lightly I've never been to a place that will accommodate you even if it's not on the menu!!!! I'm blown away. Juju and her mother are sooooo helpful and amazing and soooo sweet wow!!! Anyways I seem to have gotten carried away I almost forgotten about the FOOD!!!!!! I got the adobo chicken as well as the kalua Pork and an order of Lumpia. The chicken adobo was soooooo good a MUST try I promise you won't regret it. I've been coming here for five years and the food remains good. The service is even better. They serve your basic Filipino and Hawaiian favs. In my opinion the place I would go to specifically for filipino food, but I haven't had something I didn't like here. Don't forget to look at the desserts they're serving, it changes regularly. My favorite is when they have live music because it brings me back to the island. The downside is they're only open during limited days, mostly just lunch, and the food isn't exactly like Hawaii or the Philippines but it's the best I've had in Nebraska. I was hoping the steamed veggies would have had some seasoning. They had some gluten free desserts, but I felt they absorbed the odor of something, maybe the plastic lid, the environment, what it was stored near or perhaps the bowl it was mixed in? My first take on this newly established restaurant that just recently opened and say that... it's just OK. I'll chalk this up to the "opening day" chaos that normally goes with any new restaurant trying to get settled in. The menu changes daily with a few staples (e.g. Kalua Pork, Chicken Adobo, Mini plate). The place can get busy during the lunch rush and parking can be a challenge. We came in at 12:30 for lunch and they've already ran out of their advertised special, which was a bummer. The food is good, definitely a change of pace and adds more flavor for the restaurant scene in Bellevue. We'll definitely be back to sample some of their goodies and other dishes/specials...but will probably wait when their schedule settles and they figure out some of their kinks. read more

I'm so happy to have more Hawaiian and Filipino food options in Omaha. The shoyu pork was super tasty. It came with mac salad and pancit, both were really great! The ube pancakes were good as well. Even my toddler liked the pancit, and he's VERY picky :) The portion sizes were generous and prices were very reasonable. This place is a real gem, located in what used to be the Moonstruck Meadery. They have limited hours, and combined with excellent food the atmosphere felt a little chaotic. They cook the food ahead before opening, not upon your order. The line to the register backed up to the door, which also is right next to the tables. So as we are eating at the table the folks in line are standing right next to you, looking down at your food and just getting closer than I would like. The food was SOOOO good. I really liked the spam Musubi and the pancit noodles. My black peppered pork adobo was great, as was my fiends Char Siu. read more

For the past 6 months I have been following this restaurant on Facebook, figuring out how to coordinate my time to visit this Hawaiian Filipino restaurant. Easter weekend ended up being the event to travel out of my way to Bellevue to pick up an Easter meal order. I ordered by calling in the morning and later, picking up the meal containers that evening. We had to wait longer than expected but I was hoping the quality would make up for the extra 20 minutes in their parking lot. The huli huli chicken was spot on as were the lumpia egg rolls. The pork was okay, already was prepared it wouldn't be shredded and roasted in a pit with banana leaves. The pancit was good along with standard rice without garlic. Overall, a good value for what we received. I will look forward towards the Loco Moco in the near future, a favorite dish of mine when I travel to the islands. Aloha. read more

Just had the best experience here! The food was so good, and portion sizes are huge. I intentionally saved some for my husband to try. The kindest lady (I'm assuming the owner), asked me how it was, I let her know I was exited for my husband try it. She took my to-go box and added a bunch more (amazing) food! The food here is so Ono-licious! And the staff here is amazing. They are very welcoming. So far, we have been here twice for dinner on a Friday. They are very aware of gluten in their food and will help point out which foods do not have gluten in them. On one of our visits, there was no main menu item that was gluten free, so the chef/owner volunteered to make a special dinner for me to meet my allergy requirements. It was so good! As an individual from Hawaii I always wanted to try Ono Pinay Kitchen since they opened earlier this year. Today I finally visited and was not disappointed! My friend and I came for their brunch menu. Upon arrival we were greeted with smiles and quick service. My friend ordered the HI breakfast plate and I ordered the loco moco. We also shared an order of poke. The loco moco came with two eggs (when I expected only one), lumpia and mac salad, so you could say I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were made over easy and cooked just right so that the yolks trickled out like a stream when sliced into. The hamburger patty was juicy and considerably thick, and at one point I requested to use a steak knife since the plastic forks they supplied just didn't do the trick. The poke was enjoyable as well and wasn't covered with an excessive number of toppings that distract you from the fish itself. Historically, my experience with poke in Omaha hasn't been ideal but the poke at Ono Pinay Kitchen is probably the best I have had away from home. Overall it was a very satisfying experience, and I can't wait to try items on their regular menu! Will be back for sure. read more

Here in Omaha for business and was craving for some Filipino food. The Filipino restaurant in Omaha is closed so I drove 30 mins to this place. I did NOT regret coming in here even though it was out of my way. The staff was very friendly. I met the owner Maria and had me try Portuguese Bean Soup! And she gave me siopao to go! I've been to this Filipino-Hawaiian fusion kind restaurant a couple times already and I'd have to admit it's really good. Of course aside from my Dad's exceptional cooking this establishment hits the sweet spot. The different meals and preparation of food is what you would expect if you were in Philippines or even in Hawaii. The food phases you to solitude with a smile on your face. My all time favorite is Dinuguan, pigs blood with pork, vinegar, and other spices. Sounds weird but it's legit. There's one time that I ate others portion before ordering mine and still finishing my plate. The order came with an eggroll and Pancit. They even serve breakfast meals which is also tasty. This is a hard review to give because the service was outstanding but the flavor combinations aren't at the top of my list to re-visit regularly. With that said, the food IS really great! But as a personal choice not my favorite. The women working at Ono are amazing and so helpful! My daughter and I had no clue what to order so they patiently and kindly guided us. Stopped in on grand opening night. Unlike most other new restaurants, they were well prepared for the rush and after a 15 minute wait we had our food. What a welcome addition to the downtown Bellevue area with fresh, delicious, hawaiian/Filipino food. I was so glad to finally try pancit, loved that the lechon plate came with crispy skin on, fried rice, and lumpia. I also tried the pandan pionono and ube buttermochi; both of which were just the right level of sweetness. I hope to come back to try the tofu dish and their drinks. I went with a friend and my daughter for their grand opening and was VERY satisfied with not only the quality and quantity of food, but also the service and friendliness of the staff. My 7 year old enjoyed her Kalua Pork, my friend her Lechon, and I was more than happy with my Spicy Tofu. The desserts are amazing, it doesn't matter what you order. We tried the Pianono and Buttermochi, the latter of which is gluten free. My favorite was probably the Pianono. No need to dress up, come as you are and enjoy some great food. I highly recommend you get their early. For good reason there's a pretty long line, but the service is fast, and the food wonderful. It is quite obvious that the owners put alot of love into their dishes. I had the lechon (sp?). The pork skin was nice and crackly, while the meat succulent. My dining partners had the kalua pork, they were floored by the flavor. The whole ride back to work consisted of them reiterating how good the kalua pork was. Our meals came with garlic rice, noodles and a lumpia. Everything was fresh, and so good. Serving portions are huge. You will not leave hungry, I promise.
