Saw their sign from across the street and had to check it out, even though we were able to hit the road to Omaha for a dinner reservation lol! I ordered the musubi bomb as a snack and it was really good! Think of a spam musubi with spicy mayo bruleed on top! Wish I could've tried their Hawaiian plates too! Maybe next time if we're in town again! The only issue was that it was really hot inside. I think probably their AC wasn't working that day?

We rushed to Howzit to grab a late dinner. I had the fire chicken, no changes. It was delicious. Don't let the name fol ya. It has a nice spice. Not overly strong. The rice and salad set on. The restaurant was clean and not crowded at all.

So it's the weekend and I wanted to get out of Omaha. So I did and I drove to Lincoln and it was beautiful. I stopped by Howzit Hawaiian bbq. The food was like omg. I ordered the Braddah Combo. Lots of food kal-bi chicken katsu bbq chicken and it was really good. Then I got the bomb musubis yummy. Then the garlic shrimp wow lots of flavor. Even tho it was 60+ miles why not check out and explore places. The service was amazing very attentive and repeated the order back to be. So welcoming and nice when I left.

This place is a hidden gem in Nebraska. Our favorite Hawaiian place in the state...not just in Lincoln. They have a fantastic selection of dishes. From seafood to beef and chicken, you really can't go wrong. The katsu is hot, crispy, and delicious. The prices are what you would expect. The seating is not terrible, but not the most lounge friendly. We preferred taking our meal to go. The staff were super helpful explaining the menu and items. This is a must try.

Howzit Hawaiian BBQ -I love going to Yelp to see what restaurants lack reviews/business. I would not say this place had great customer service at all, as the girl did not want to explain anything to me, and after I ordered, a man came in and said he had never been, and she just walked away. HOWEVER, the food was amazing...Not gonna lie one of the best foods I've had in Lincoln. It's not a place you would sit and eat, and the food was pretty fast. I give it 4/10 for the whole experience but 9/10 for the food. The place is nice but small.

We ordered the dumplings, spam musubi explosion, loco moco, and mixed seafood plate. I will return and get the panko mahi-mahi and would like to try one of there drinks. The service was excellent. They were patient as we ordered and brought our food to the table. We later asked for water and that was brought on our table too. They thanked us as we left the restaurant. The ambience was nice. They have a wide variety of juices from Hawai'i and tea.

My rating has to do with service because the food was truly 10/10! I ordered the fire chicken and my husband got the BBQ chicken. We also got the gyoza appetizer. The gyoza was fried to a perfect crisp and the soy sauce mix that came with was delicious. The macaroni salad and the rice tasted super fresh we both couldn't stop eating it. The fire chicken wasn't too spicy but had a kick and the flavor was so delicious. The bbq chicken was also great. All the food just went together so well. There were a good number of folks in there waiting for their food at their tables when we arrived. The two groups in front of us got their food (as expected) and we continued to wait thinking we'd be called next but then they called out the numbers of at least 4 groups that arrived after us and some of them had multiple orders in their party. So I decided to go to counter and the lady was like 46 right? And tried to insinuate that she called our number but she definitely didn't and our food was on the counter getting cold while other guests seated at their tables had their food brought to them. That was a bit weird to me. I am glad the food was in styrofoam so it wasn't too cold. The temperature was honestly just right. We'll be back because this food was honestly delicious.

Let's just say this was absolutely amazing. After going to Hawaii earlier this year and eating Hawaiian food, I was excited to see this little Hawaiian place in Nebraska! The food was amazing and the service was even better. We ordered two meals and could have shared one because they were packed full of food. Sooooo good. Did I mention how good it all was? The macaroni salad was perfect. The rice was steamed and tasty. The meat though. The spare ribs fell off the bone. The spicy chicken was just the right spicy. The breaded fried one was not overly crunchy. Everything was right. I'd go back just for the food. They had a few seats inside, but looks like a place that most people order to go. Everything was just soooo good that I will tell everyone around.

Garlic Shrimp

The garlic shrimp and bbq chicken is sooo good here! Also can't forget the Mac salad, I always get two scoops of that and 1 of rice They also have boba now, it is on the sweeter side but good for a quick fix They give really good portions and service is always nice and quick The place is kinda small so not good for large groups but great for a quick bite or take out!

Seating is limited, but it feels cozy and intimate. The staff was outstanding from the greeter to the servers, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The menu has a great variety, from ramen and teriyaki boxes to rice dishes and sushi. We started with the soft shell crab appetizer, which was incredibly fresh with a light, perfectly crisp tempura batter. For our main course, we went with a selection of sushi, and it was phenomenal. The fish was extremely fresh, served at the perfect temperature, and every flavor paired beautifully. One thing I really appreciated is they don't smother their sushi in sauces, they let the freshness and quality of the fish speak for itself, the way it should. Quite possibly the best sushi in town!!

Cons: It just didn't hit the mark with me. I ordered chicken karaage, two handrolls, and the tuna roll for dinner. The handrolls were probably the best bites of the night. I didn't care for the batter on the karaage nor the dipping sauce (sweet soy based sauce). Not what you would normally get when ordering karaage. The tuna roll was pretty inconsistent, with some pieces having giant chunks of tuna and nothing else while others had a huge chunk of avocado. It wasn't tightly rolled and the rice didn't taste seasoned. In fact, the more I think about it while looking at my photo, the more those disappointing feelings are coming back.

They're usually in the parking lot of a strip mall that is otherwise slightly ... unwelcoming, to put it politely. This meal was incredible. Birria is one of my favorites but it's a little hard to find due to how labor-intensive it is, so I was so happy to see their post on Facebook about serving birria! Then, when I was already planning to go soon, they advertised a truly irresistible special, two birria tacos and NOODLES IN BIRRIA CONSOMMÉ (!!!!!) for $8. I was overcome with excitement! When I pulled up, a few minutes before they opened, there were already half a dozen cars with people in them sitting and waiting for the window to open. That's an awesome sign. Ordering was quick and painless, they are still taking cash in these times. However, I was a little surprised that their listed prices didn't include tax- I've found that to be pretty standard for food trucks so that making change is simplified. All three of us got the same noodle/taco deal and it took about 25 minutes between ordering and receiving our food. A little slow for a good truck but not outrageously so, and I'm happy to wait for quality. Each meal came with extra lime wedges, radish, cilantro and onion, grilled onion quarter, and a grilled jalapeño. We drove home to eat so it wasn't piping hot by the time we got to it but the tacos were not soggy and everything was still delicious. The cup of noodles is maybe a 20 oz styrofoam and the tacos are standard taco size instead of tiny street taco so between these, we were all super full afterward. I couldn't be happier and I'm definitely coming back soon! Go with patience and go hungry!!
