I've been coming here for a long time with my family and have never had an issue until today, which honestly makes this even more frustrating. The food is usually good, but like anywhere, not everything is going to be a hit when you try something new. What I cannot get past is how I was treated. I didn't like the dish I ordered, so I asked to order something different--something I know I would actually eat--and was told they refused to make me anything else because I didn't eat the original meal. That makes absolutely no sense. I'm not going to force myself to eat food I don't like just to "earn" the right to order something else. It felt dismissive, rude, and completely unreasonable. This is a cute restaurant in Downtown Omaha. The town itself really old timey. Service was good, they seated us right away and they give you the AYCE menu list where you just put the quantities and give them your order. I love that they even take special requests. My husband wrote "and cucumber on one of them and they made it as requested. They also offer non seafood items which is why we chose to go there. Ahi sashimi looked really good. I was in the mood for shrimp so I ordered several shrimp dishes. Between my wife and I, we had 15-20 pieces of sashimi, 5 specialty rolls, and 4 sides. The sashimi/side portions are a bit smaller, but for an all-you-can-eat menu, it's pretty great. Easily a better value than Blue, though the rolls aren't as extravagant as those at Blue. I would recommend against the spicy tuna pizza and spare ribs though. The spicy tuna pizza is a thick fried rice type "crust" with a much thinner layer of spicy tuna. Came to Nebraska for a work trip recently. When I landed I was craving sushi and thought this ayce spot would scratch that itch. It did not. For the record, the food itself is not bad. Sure, the sushi uses filler (higher rice ratio, using cucumber or avocado or tempura to bulk up the fish) but that's not uncommon for ayce. Some of the sashimi was also still semi-frozen. What really bothered me was that I was not given all that I asked for... when it comes to sushi I can definitely put some rolls/nigiri away and would be fine in a situation where if I was unable to finish my food I'd pay the remainder. This place is easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever suffered through. The manager loudly argued with me about how much food I was ordering, still chose to not bring out my full meal, then completely lost control and screamed at me in front of the restaurant for asking to verify that the soy sauce was gluten-free, since they just brought me a bowl of it instead of a bottle or container. The restaurant itself was beyond filthy; sticky floors, dirty tables, and a smell that made me question if sushi was a good idea for supper. I really hope people don't form their opinions of sushi based only this place. Just an example, there was a roll with shrimp in it, and it was cooked shrimped but it was cold and tough If this was a general Asian food place with sushi just as an option then maybe I'd rate it higher cuz the other food isn't bad. I paid 1595 for the "unlimited" menu and left feeling cheated. We ordered a soup appetizer, sushi and fried rice -- the soup never arrived, and the fried rice that was served was undercooked and sticky. When I politely asked about missing items the manager angrily accused me of "wasting food" and refused to take more orders. Rude, unprofessional and unacceptable. I do not recommend this place until they fix their service and train staff. Here is what happened, in order: * We arrived on a calm Monday evening and placed our orders. We ordered a soup appetizer, several sushi items, and fried rice, intending to order dessert afterward. * About 15 minutes after ordering we received part of our meal -- sushi arrived -- but my appetizer soup never came. The fried rice we were expecting was also not delivered. * When I checked with the staff, they did not understand the issue and the soup still did not arrive. Eventually a portion of rice was brought over that was badly undercooked and very sticky; it was inedible. I mentioned this and continued eating other items because we were already there. * I asked again to place more orders. When I pointed out that I never received my soup, the manager came to our table and loudly accused me of "wasting a lot of food" and warned that "this is not the way it works." This accusation came despite the fact that I had not been served the appetizer I ordered, and despite paying for the unlimited option. The manager's tone was rude and confrontational. * The manager and staff then effectively refused to take additional orders from us. We were denied the normal service we paid for. These issues are unacceptable for any restaurant, and especially for a business that advertises an unlimited buffet/order system. The main problems are: * Repeated failure to deliver items we ordered (soup, fried rice). * Food that was served undercooked and unfit to eat. * Rude, accusatory behavior from management (accusing a paying customer of wasting food while the restaurant had failed to deliver ordered items). This ruined what should have been a pleasant lunch. My wife and I felt embarrassed, upset, and extremely dissatisfied. You fill out a paper of the sushi rolls or appetizers you want, and they will bring it to you fairly quickly. Overall it hits the spot if you are looking for a lot of sushi for cheap. The quality of the sushi itself is ok. It is nothing like the quality you'd get from other higher end sushi restaurants in town. For the price and the amount of sushi you get, it's worth it. It's a good deal if you have a large appetite, but the rolls were so large, I couldn't even finish two. There were a ton of options to choose from, but I found the quality of the fish to be average overall. I loved the convenience of the option to call your server with the push of a button and our food came out very quickly. The restaurant overall is in need of a little TLC, especially in the bathrooms. It was clean, but it was showing its age. AYCE is a fun concept, but I think there are better sushi options in Omaha. read more

I love the gyoza and shumai, and you MUST try the spicy tuna pizza. It's a circle bed of rice fried in a batter then topped with spicy tuna. Warm and delicious. Wow if I could only give it an updated zero stars I would. As you can see from my other reviews I rarely give one star reviews, but when I do, I mean it...well less of it. Like I say it is not even ONE whopping star, negative 5 stars for sure. My parents, husband and I ordered our AYCE meals which came out separately as we all filled out a sheet each as there were 8 sheets on the table for us. My parents and my meals came out first and we had devoured ours and even ordered seconds. When the servers came by, we asked where my husband's order was and THREE servers told us it was coming. After an hour of waiting and with reassurance another server came and asked if we could re-order my husband's meal b/c they had lost the order or it had gone out to another table. My husband asked to just not be charged for his meal which they did grant, BUT my parents and I wanted to wait for second round since we had to pay the full $23.99 for our meals. They once again reassured us round two was coming. Another 30 min goes by with us putting in a small 3rd sashimi order, which comes out WITHOUT our second orders. We ask again, they say it's still coming. Another 15 min and they come by again and ask if we can re order our second order. My mom goes to talk to the manager because this is ridiculous. He doesn't apologize at all, but shoos her away saying "we're busy, just wait." Well guess what we have waited for 1 hour and 45 min with only our first round served and my husband starving, so we ask him if we can just pay for 2 meals to set things straight. He shows us our receipt and he says "no i can't do that, look you guys already eaten plenty!" WTF. IS THIS NOT AN AYCE restaurant? That means UNLIMITED RIGHT? apparently not. Again, no apology. We finally get him to grant us some of our second order to take with us in a togo box since we had waited so long already. We ordered 20 pieces of sashimi, a spider and dragon roll, since we were paying over $80.00 we should get our worths right? We get home and there is only 15 pieces of sashimi, instead of 20. We assume oh maybe the sushi chef made the mistake, but NO Ken the rude manager, had actually ordered only 15 instead of the 20 we clearly requested as the ticket with our order says 15 (see picture attached)!! UNBELIEVABLE. The only reason this place stays in business is b/c there is no other AYCE sushi place within a 3 hour drive from here. However we are going to stick to blowing all our money at Yoshitomo here on out or even Blue sushi across the way because at least 1. they respect us there and 2. their sushi is WAY better and worth paying more for. The only one helpful here is the server with the long ponytail so I pray she gets another job elsewhere soon, as I can't imagine how he treats his employees if this is how he treats his customers. read more
