Best sushi place in omaha that i've tried, really good selection of rolls and other food items. The food portions and quality of the food is very good for how much you pay, a lot of other places are either too expensive or they just have bland tasting rolls. The workers there too are also really nice. The lady that takes your order is always very kind and is very helpful with suggestions.

KOI!!!! I love this place so much! I have already visited for their amazing sushi rolls but I came out to try their poke bowls. They do not have a custom build option but the options they have are PACKED with different mixins and SO GOOD!!! I got the dragon poke bowl which had eel, mango, avocado, crab meat, seaweed, eel sauce, on a bed of rice. I may have forgotten some mixins because there were so many! Please please please come try this place!!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. I have tried lots of sushi from around the Omaha/Lincoln area and this place is still my go-to. The workers are always happy to see and serve you. Compared to the "high end" sushi spots like Blue or Hiro 88, Koi gives you the best bang for your buck every time, plus the best crab rangoon in town AND complimentary edamame when you dine in! You get the same Japanese-style ambience without the $100+ bill. When it comes to the service and prices I really could go on and on!

Small sushi shop in a strip mall. Ordered the Rainbow Roll, Las Vegas Roll and side of Crab Rangoon. All were excellent. Some of the biggest Crab Rangoon I 've ever seen. I would definitely recommend.

Koi Sushi just opened up on 168th and Harrison. I ordered a lunch Bento box for pick up. The Bento box included chicken teriyaki, a four piece California roll, two crab Rangoon's, fried rice and your choice of soup or salad; I went with the miso soup. Ordering online was fairly simple. They have a pretty extensive menu to order from. There is a $1.00 convenience fee for placing an order online, something to be aware of. I placed my order at 11 and set it for pick up at 12:15. I would recommend getting there as close to that time because I picked up at 12:22 and although my order was ready, there wasn't anything keeping it from getting cold. Something else to note is that they have a limited seating area of about 6 tables. The chicken teriyaki and fried rice was my favorite part of the meal. The chicken had a nice grilled flavor to it. The California roll was pretty comparable to premade sushi at a grocery store. I'm not a huge crab Rangoon fan, but they were nicely crispy and had a lot of cream cheese if you like that. Unfortunately, the miso lacked a lot of flavor, and I didn't end up eating much of that. Overall I'm excited that south west Omaha has another food option. I would go back because they have such a huge menu of options but it's more of a fast casual restaurant than quality restaurant like Blue or Osaka.

My wife and I love sushi so when Koi Sushi opened nearby, we had to try. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt so I do not remember what all we got. But I do remember that I was impressed with the portions of food for the price. I also appreciated that they took great care to package the items to go so that they still looked nice when they got home. The quality of the sushi was good and we will definitely be ordering again!

I cannot stop thinking about Koi Sushi! What a variety of options! From sushi to hibachi to amazing appetizers. The rolls are beautifully presented and so fresh! The small shop is nicely decorated. I only wish I lived closer to it. Definitely will be going back before the calendar year ends!

We stopped by a new sushi place for dinner. The cashier was really friendly and helpful. The eat in area is really small. Only a handful of tables makes it hard to sit and enjoy the food. That being said the sushi was fantastic. We tried four different rolls and we honestly loved them all. The quality of the sushi good for the price. Just wish it was more of a sit down and enjoy interior. Highly recommend the food.

This restaurant is relatively new to the area, 168th and Harrison, off of Audrey. Parking will be challenging during the evenings due to the other businesses in the strip mall. Ordering is performed in front. The menu is mounted on the wall or you can take a flyer on the counter. I went with the bento box, both lunch and dinner. The dinner comes with both soup and salad along with the shrimp tempura. The food came out quickly. The portion sizes are decent and the taste is decent. Prices are a bit higher but I enjoy the variety of sushi and other dishes you can order, either for dine in or to go.

Really delicious! I tried the chicken and veg bento box. I loved every item in it. So fresh and flavorful! The California roll was super tasty, 2 rangoons stuffed with filling, tempura very crispy and tasty, even the fried rice was yummy. Plus salad or soup. The box was huge, easily enough for two. I ate half there for lunch and took the rest home for dinner. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful. I thought the price very reasonable for the quality and big portions. I'll be going back soon to try the teriyaki.

The Fukui cocktail (cucumber vodka flavors) is a great pairing with the menu items. One thing I really enjoy about this restaurant is that you order as you go, so you never leave hungry and it's a safe bet that you won't over order. The wait staff will frequently check in on you and see if you need to order more. The Bunzai Buns (runza inspired) and Gyoza are my favorite options outside of the sushi. The Gyoza are fresh, chewy, and are paired with a very flavorful sauce. Our favorite Nigiri is the Sea Bream And you truly can't go wrong with any of the rolls. Don't forget to end your meal with the cereal milk ice cream! Reservations are highly recommended as time slots will fill up fast. The atmosphere is well thought through - I enjoy how it is fairly dark in there, but the lights are shining so they are focused on the food. Can't recommend this restaurant enough!

I got the cocktail that was similar to a Paloma, very delicious.

We walked in at 5:15 PM, sat down, and the place was packed within minutes. Not an empty seat in sight--good timing on our part! Our server greeted us quickly, and after a quick look at the drink menu, we went all in with water, Coke Zero (YES, a Coke Zero establishment!), and a cocktail--the amusingly named Sex in Okinawa. No regrets. As the sushi train made its rounds, we grabbed a crab rangoon. It was tasty but had cooled off from its little journey, so we opted for a fresh batch from the kitchen. The spring rolls? Crispy, hot, and on point. I did have to ask for sriracha a few times (our server kept forgetting), but to be fair, they were busy, so I didn't hold it against them. One thing we noticed was that some of the sushi rolls lacked descriptions. A tiny sign with ingredients would be helpful. I am a sushi newbie, and I wasn't about to roll the dice on a Volcano Roll without knowing what was inside. For what I did try: California rolls - classic and exactly what you'd expect. Sexy jalapeño - surprisingly good! (If there was fish in there, I didn't notice.) Tempura sweet potato roll - crispy, slightly sweet, and a winner. Pro tip: They offer a veteran/military discount, but double-check your receipt--ours wasn't applied at first, but they fixed it without issue. Final bill: about $68, and let's be honest, a good chunk of that was drinks. Not bad for a fun dinner out! Would I go back? Absolutely. There's plenty more to try, and the atmosphere makes for a great night with friends. Final Verdict: Worth the ride!

If you heard about a sushi omakase place in the middle of America, what would you think? I bet…read moreit's probably not fresh-tasting raw dishes or wow-level sushi omakase. But there is a James Beard-level recognized chef here, in Omaha, that is delivering fresh-tasting raw and other omakase dishes week after week - geography be damned. His name is David Utterback. It's incredibly difficult to get reservations at this eight-seat omakase called Ota. Moreso than any omakase in my hometown on an island in the middle of the Pacific. In fact, I dont think he needs this review - the best don't need to advertise. I also don't think we have a sushi chef here in Hawaii that is as nationally-acclaimed as Utterback. So we were very interested to try. And we were very lucky to get reservations. I dont think there is a parking lot for this restaurant, which is tucked within his also highly-regarded Yoshitomo restaurant. So if you from Hawaii like me, and get lucky with the reservations, gotta roll da dice on parallel street parking. That's code for come early ;) (parking is free in the area) W-h-e-n you do arrive at Yoshitomo, there is a small - hidden - waiting area within Yoshitomo where you will be asked to wait for the omakase to begin. The dark photo with the lantern and Ota sign is in that waiting room. - And frankly - That's all that needs to be shown in a photo cause the omakase course itself varies depending on chef's tastes and what's available that week. The courses we had will likely not be the entirety of the courses you have. But the rice might be the same. There is a special black vinegar that chef uses to add to the rice. Ask him about it. There is a whole story behind it ;) So my photos are small in number. They are the highlights of our experience and what stood out to me that is beyond anything I've tried in Hawaii or elsewhere (including the black-vinegar sushi rice) Enjoy - cause we most certainly did :)
