Beautiful furniture and an elegant feel to Memoir, making it a great "special occasion meal" location. I've been here a couple times and couldn't recommend the potato puffs appetizer enough. The fluffy and crunchy potato served with cheese that perfectly coats the puff. Delightful. The eggs Benedict was very uniquely blended together by the pickled onion and avocado, no meat, which is a neat take on eggs Benedict. Well seasoned hollandaise sauce with a perfectly poached egg. For the mocktail drinkers like myself, they have three options to choose from. One jalapeño & pineapple, a guava orange, and one other. We had a work event here in the private room in the back. It was nice and secluded with very attentive staff. Overall the ambiance of the restaurant itself is elegant. Very popular, even on weeknights. We had a special pre-set menu for our event. Everything was delicious. I had the Parmesan potato poppers with aioli for the starter, which was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken tortilla soup was also tasty. For the main entree, I had the pan seared trout, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and tender meat. I did wish there was more pesto sauce though. The chocolate torte dessert was so rich and comforting. It can with a nice contrast of cold ice cream and tart berry jam. Had a lovely time at Memoir, our server Chris was great and very knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. Bonus he looks quite like Jeffrey Wright from West World and various other things. My wife started with a spicy corn margarita. It was quite tasty and had that warm the back of the throat kick at the end. We split two sushi rolls, the kensai maki and spicy tuna maki. Both had great flavor and tasted fresh. The spicy tuna definitely has a kick of wasabi which I enjoyed. We then split the rigatoni alla vodka. They split it in our two bowls so my picture looks small but that's a half portion. Flavor was awesome, olive oil and fresh ricotta to die for, scraped all the extra sauce out of both our bowls. Memoir, in the downtown area of Omaha, is an absolute VIBE. You will want to bring your camera with you, even if you're not normally a food photog, because the ambiance and food are made for the perfect pics! My husband and I first visited Memoir for our anniversary, and it was such an awesome experience, especially for a special occasion like that. After we were done doing all of our (admittedly annoying) photography of the awesome ambiance, we finally sat down to order and eat - and the original amazingness didn't stop there! The menu is not gigantic, which I always appreciate - because I get overwhelmed by too many choices. We picked a few things to share, at the recommendation of our server (who was also amazing and made sure we had a great anniversary dinner). They even gave us a card signed by the staff wishing us a great anniversary! Those little extra touches are what really make a dining experience special. We had the Kale and Bacon Dip for an appetizer, which was DECADENTLY delicious. The dip was smooth and silky with a toasty focaccia which went really well together with the two different textures. And we also grabbed the Pork Potstickers, and my oh my, were those fantastic. Delicate potsticker wrapper, with tons of filling, resting in a carrot-ginger dressing that complemented the potsticker fantastically. We were already so pleased, and didn't believe the entrees could top the starters, but they were just as awesome, which should be no surprise. It was easier to share two entrees, because we couldn't decide between two. Our first entree was the Faroe Island Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, and served atop an indulgent bed of sweet corn risotto that I still dreeeeam about. And our second entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which was a little lighter of a meal, so was great paired with the salmon dish which was a tad heavier. I would recommend either of these dishes! We were SO full at this point but we knew we had to get a dessert since this was a special occasion. We shared the chocolate torte and devoured it, even with our extreme fullness. It was so fluffy and chocolatey and DELISH. From start to finish, this was one of the best meals I've had in Omaha. The service was on point, the eats were out of this world, and the vibe of the interior is something to behold. Scrumptious food, great staff, kid friendly, and overall such a fancy vibe! Our waitress was so great with our daughter that I had to start my review with praising how fun she was! She played peek-a-boo and just emailed at her so often throughout our stay. Our daughter loved our waitress! The food was as delicious as it looks in the photos! We popped in for a lunch with a reservation (check out open table). The service was really not what it normally is. We sat for almost 20 minutes before having to ask for a waiter. The food was slow. Other tables were getting served right next to us. We are normally pretty quick to order and eat but this lunch turned into an hours long endeavor. The kale & farro salad was delicious!!!! This is a review of the lunch menu. I had the chicken sandwich. It was good, but couldn't top the charcoal chicken that is served at dinner. The Parmesan and pepper salad dressing was great on the side salad. My beautiful date had the salmon and risotto. She loved it and she gave me a taste. Agree! We split the cheesecake and it was fabulous. The coffee was delicious. The service is superb. Our waitress (from PA) was able to track down the coffee vendor for me. Memoir feels like the kind of restaurant that should be a mess. Sushi. Charcoal roasted chicken. A smashburger. On paper, it sounds like three different chefs lost an argument. Somehow it works. The yellowtail was cold, clean, and disciplined. The chicken carried the flavor of smoke all the way to the bone. But the Pyro Cheeseburger was the thing I kept thinking about afterward. Crisp edges. The ladies side of the table stuck to the appetizers (hence really only appetizer pictures!) where as the men's table, definitely stuck with the entrees (therefore, zero pics!). The ladies and I shared their Creamed Kale & Bacon Dip, a few California Rolls, their Potstickers, Foccacia and Whipped Ricotta, as well as their Tsunami Roll (very similar to Blue's Tidal Wave if you're familiar!), some Memoir Fries with a spicy jalepeno aioli, and their Beet Salad. Topped it off with their Corn Margarita, which was excellent - think sweet corn folks, sweet corn. That Filet Mignon, looked DELISH with a rare presentation. I "heard" their Salmon was excellent from the other end of the table. My hubs, had their Charcoal Chicken and said it was great! I love a moody, dark, and hustling restaurant and Memoir is JUST that! For a half beat I forgot I was in congested downtown Omaha, and transported to the windy city. When the GM learned there was a table of foodies, he quickly made his way over to check in and take the temp of how the food, drinks and atmosphere were which I appreciated and stopped often to make sure all was to our satisfaction. Overall not a place I plan to return. The restaurant was pretty dead when we went for lunch, but the service was super slow. It took a very long time to have our order taken, then even longer to get food. When I got my pasta, the temperature was pretty uneven, with really hot spots and really room temp/ cold spots. I'm kind of assuming it sat under a heat lamp or something for a while. We finished eating and our server was nowhere to be found for a pretty long time. Nobody came by for the traditional "how did everything come out", or at least not that I remember. After waiting what felt like an eternity for the sever to come back to get the check, I just went to the bar to pay. Another amazing brunch at Memoir! I got the breakfast sandwich for the first time, and this was a great meal, especially for the $12 price point! The hash brown was my favorite-- very crispy, and hot, despite eating at the end of my meal. The sandwich was good, although the sausage patty could've been bigger in my opinion. The flavor of the sauce was great, and the egg was cooked perfect perfectly for a runny yolk! We also enjoyed the fruits as a starter, and my friends loved the mimosa bottle that came with syrups to flavor on your own. This was a great experience! Memoir is a beautiful little hidden away spot in downtown Omaha that is a perfect place for Sunday brunch or a nice evening meal. There was a decent amount of seating in the restaurant and around the bar, with an open kitchen to watch them prepare your meal. The staff were extremely helpful when discussing the menu, and went over everything on the menu that could be made gluten free (which was most of the menu). They came around frequently to check on us and filled our champagne glasses for us, which was a nice touch. The frites were incredible and very crispy. The salad was good, but overall just ok for me. The flavors were all wonderful and fresh, and the vinaigrette helped balance the entire salad. I just was underwhelmed by it, and just felt one note to me. It may be because all the "fun" ingredients had to be taken off due to me having to make it gluten free. Another great night at Memoir! We just love the vibe, the food, and the great service. Tonight we were seated by the window and it was dreamy to look out on all of the Christmas lights downtown. We got a few of the Happy Hour options to start (can't go wrong with any of the sushi choices!) and then split the Charcoal Chicken. I thought it would include Brussel sprouts but misunderstood that the Brussels were shredded and just a part of the sauce. When I told our waiter Craig that I was bummed we weren't getting full sized ones, he took care of us by bringing out a delicious bowl of them!! We were so surprised and happy! Visited Omaha for a few days and tried to walk in on a Tuesday and the wait was 45 mins so highly recommend a reservation. We made a reservation for the following day on a Wednesday, and our experience was top notch. We were seated in a cozy booth that had a view of the whole restaurant. Love the art deco aesthetic. We were dressed up for the opera and decided to go to Memoir to enjoy a fancy dinner. We made a reservation for 5pm and getting seated was no problem and pleasant. The waiter asked if we wanted anything other than water twice. We started with the Pork Potsickers. They were good. We then ordered our meals: Lumache Bolognese ($25) and Rigatoni Alla Vodka ($23) along with another starter - the Parmesan Potato Puffs. The waiter also said to my boyfriend after he ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka that he normally adds the chicken breast to it. After he politely declined and also thanked him, the waiter said, "I tried". Both pastas weren't overly salty (which is great) but there wasn't a ton of flavor to them either. We both felt the noodles were coated in too much oil. There was oil pooling at the bottom of my plate. The noodles were a bit gummy/chewy on the Bolognese dish. The portions of our entrees were on the smaller side - especially considering the price. My bolognese dish had not much meat in it. My boyfriend joked there's more meat in a can of Chef Boyardee than in my dish. The Parmesan Potato Puffs were fun and the aioli paired with it was really yummy. The atmosphere was neat. Closing out the year with a bang! This was a damn good dinner date. We started off with the grilled focaccia and potato puff! Biting into the potato puff was like biting into a cloud! The initial crisp gave way to a delicious cloud. That followed by the grilled focaccia with the pesto. It was the perfect start. The drinks were also quite enjoyable and I loved the glass as well! The Rigatoni alla Vodka with the prime flat iron was perfect! I don't not typically get pasta or steak when I eat out but it felt right. Oh was it enjoyable! The steak was perfectly salted and seared. The night was finished with the Berries and Cream. The meringue was my favorite part because it added additional texture that I absolutely enjoyed. Chris, the waiter, was very knowledgeable and lovely! He made our experience more enjoyable with his recommendations and energy. The atmosphere and decor were great. I've given Memoir several tries and I really want to like it. I've had the burger, kinda bland. I was there this week and got the flatiron steak. First with the good, the rice blend is very good and flavorful. The steak had good flavor but I was chewing on a roast. It was some of the toughest steak I have ever had out at a restaurant. I don't think the quality is there. For the price, not worth it. I like the environment and the decor. Lastly, had a lovely lady as the waitress, but service was very slow. Probably took at least 30 minutes to take our order and another hour for our dinner to come out. I've eaten here 3 times, I'm not sure why people rave about this place. I was looking at the different dining options from the Flagship Restaurant Group, and found Memoir. The inside is nicely decorated with purple lighting. We sat in one of the booths that have mirrors on the wall. There is a bar in the center of the restaurant. I ordered the seared tuna chop salad. I wasn't asked what dressing I wanted. I'm glad it came on the side, because it was too tart. Other than that I enjoyed my salad that I was determined to finish, which I did.
