I actually fell in love with their Grand Cru back in 2007. It used to be a must-visit spot whenever I was passing through Omaha. Truth be told this latest visit felt a bit sad. The place just seems tired these days. The beers were okay but nothing really stood out on the creative side. They did have that Space Monkey Biermosa on the board but it just did not sound appealing to me. The food was decent enough. I ordered the jambalaya and it was pretty good. It had some nice subtle heat and the shrimp were cooked well. My wife went with the Mediterranean chicken but it was a bit of a letdown. It was dry and frankly quite bland. My son had the Blonde pizza and he did not have any complaints about his choice. I really hope they find some new fire soon. It feels like things are trending in the wrong direction every time I stop by. On the bright side our waiter with the red hair was an absolute rockstar. We sat ourselves and were given menus to order from. They were out of a couple ingredients, so I could not order the drink I wanted. But the server recommended something similar I may like- which I really appreciated. My Saint Levant cocktail was exactly like described. Fruity, earthy, and funky.
