I went to the tavern the other night and played keno and I played a 3 spot 5.00 wta. I played 4 games. Game 111. At the end of my meal I asked the mail server to cash us out and to run my memo ticket and he paid me 2.50. The winnings should have been 265.00. He stole from me the winnings based on my naïveté about kemp. It was winner take all or nothing. My issue for not knowing but trusting the honesty of the staff. I am visiting from California. Moved to eating here after Danny's bar and grill changed on 72nd blondo and I do not regret it at all. Been here 3 times so far. Really friendly staff. Solid three star bar and grill. Although tonight I did not partake in drinking (full bar ahead will all your usual American beers), shuffleboard, or live music night---the burgers were buttery and tasty in my opinion. Fries were perfect too-thick cut and the perfect temperature and crispy outside. This place is in a strip mall that looks unchanged from the '70s, which gives it a bit of divey feel. Every review I've read said dive bar. It's not a dive bar it's a neighborhood bar. Staff is super friendly with a cheers like feel. Lots of regulars and repeat customers. The owner was behind the bar and while making me feel welcomed also made sure everyone else was taken care of. Had a few beers and ordered some food to go. Food was still hot and delicious when I got home. I would highly recommend this place for a night out. read more

Went to Keystone for Burger Brigade back in September... and two months later I now can't remember what I had. Something with jelly off the 'secret menu' so who even knows at this point? Sides and fries were very decent by bar food standards, and I'm glad to have finally had an excuse to visit. I've heard rumblings that this place is a Packers bar, but one of the owners is also a Vikings fan, so that's a little iffy in my book. The burger itself was good as well, cooked to order and satisfying. Worth a stop if you're in the area and would like to partake in good grub and some colorful local atmosphere. Our visit was on a Tuesday evening and there was a solid group of regulars in attendance. Probably would feel a bit more at home here if I'd been drinking (which you can do from a gasoline can if the night edges in that direction). read more

The reviews were decent so decided to stop in. Cozy bar with a neighborhood feel to it. Super friendly guy serving drinks and taking orders...pretty sure it was the owner. They have Big Red Keno which was a plus, and the older lady running it was also super friendly. They are definitely family friendly as I saw a family with small children come in to eat. Seats are a little worn as are the tables, but everything is kept clean which is most important to me. I ordered the beef philly steak sandwich with provolone and a side of their talked about mac n cheese. The sandwich had large chunks of peppers, onions and mushrooms which was nice, but the sandwich was just way too big. I know...you're asking yourself what's to complain about too much food, but really there was no way I could pick up the sandwich. (see picture) The entire plate was covered with the philly steak and the bun buried somewhere underneath. It was a definite knife and fork meal. I thought overall the sandwich was too dry so didn't eat much while the macaroni and cheese was good and creamy. My dining partner had a patty melt which was "just okay". Saw on the menu they had homemade carrot cake which my dining partner was super stoked for. Bummer that they were out of it. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I'd maybe give another try for a night they have specials. Perhaps the prime rib melt sandwich night or taco Tuesday. read more

Had great food forgot to take any pictures because I was so hungry. I have a Reuben and both sides of the bread were nice and crispy usually one side is soggy. Came into here for a drink. This is a dive bar so be aware of it. They serve food but I can't speak on that. I do have friends who have been here when the food is being served and say that it was good. The drinks are a good price. I ordered something on a weekend and then came in the next weekend to order the same thing as it was great! The other waitress working the weekend when I came back told me was suppose to be a shot and not a drink but she would be able to make it for me. Recently under new ownership. There is a new system for running a tab, where they enter your name and your credit or debit card into the computer to "store" it. Ended up with three other drinks on my tab which the bartender was unable to remove. Upon checking with the bank on-line after the visit, have duplicate charges on my card, apparently because the information is "stored" in their computer now. So I've now had to block that card through the bank. Will have to remember to only take cash and pay as I go, if I go back and if that's even possible with this convoluted computer system! Be aware! Bring cash and check your tab CAREFULLY, if you decide to run one. For me, keeping my card information into eternity is just asking for hacking abuse! read more

Ok., it's easy to miss when you drive by. And, true it's not pretty from the outside. However, step inside and it's not only very clean - but also, excellent food and the owners couldn't be nicer. It's date night again with the hubby. We decided to stay close to home and hit this highly recommended hole in the wall bar. We ordered our drinks and the char buff wings. We waited a bit to order our dinner. The wings came out HOT. They were delicious. We waited a period of time before another server took our dinner order. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. We were initially ok with this because we inferred there was a largish party on the other side of the bar who's orders were put in prior to ours. Probably. No big deal. Our order finally came out. My husband noticed there was no lettuce tomato or onion for his burger; which she specifically asked hubby if he wanted. Then hubby said uh oh. Feels lukewarm. I then took a bite of my philly. COLD. I got the servers attention and told her the food was cold and that we would like our check. We weren't wanting to wait again for them to be remade. She stomped away with our plates and then spoke to a lady behind the bar who then came over to verbally accost us for THEM serving cold food. I then interrupted her and said she was being rude and just asked for our check. She said well you can just go. Ok then. I looked at the woman at the table next to us and asked if she thought I had been rude, she stated certainly no. That she was confused as to why the lady was so rude to us. Long story short, the wings were great. I don't expect much from a hole in the wall bar such as this. I expect hot food and to not be verbally accosted. We will not return. read more

The food here is really good! The wait staff takes care of people well too. The only negative is it leaves a feeling of exclusion. Everyone there knows each other so when you walk in they look at you like you don't belong at first, but soon go back to their conversations. Excellent place all the same! read more

Tim and Sue have been open for a couple of years now and have created a very nice neighborhood bar. This past Monday their new kitchen opened. We joined them for dinner on the first night. The food was prepared well , tasted great and the service was impressive for the first night of service. This little neighborhood watering hole is doing a great job. Have been here several times over the past few years...absolutely no consistency in the food. Sometimes it is awesome (we like the burgers), other times you might get a hockey puck. Their chicken wings, chili and anything that could remotely be considered "Tex-Mex" influenced is far too spicy, even for me. The food is pretty expensive, too, considering this is just a small neighborhood bar. Drink prices, too, seem to be on the high end compared to other "dive" type bars. Also seems to be too cold in there in the winter and too hot in the summer (as we have patronized it at different times of the year). Also, their hours are wrong on their Yelp profile...they don't open until 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We found that out a few weeks ago on our last visit; we thought they served lunch. read more

Cute little neighborhood bar, little on the dated side but clean and friendly. I came with my husband and daughter and we started with the onion rings. Really solid, well seasoned and served with a spicy aioli. My only complaint was I wish there were more of them! Onto our meals - we all got a sandwich with a side salad. The lettuce was really fresh and the dressings were spot on. Two of us got Italian, I got the bacon infused house dressing. Oh my. It was like a creamy Italian with bacon swimming in it. Yum!! For sandwiches my daughter got the Big Mac Daddy (hamburger topped with mac and cheese), my husband got a spicy chicken philly and I got a grilled mac and cheese with cheddar. The bread on that was spectacular - buttery and great smoky grilled flavor. The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. My daughter loved the hamburger, my husband thought his sandwich was tasty but a little too hot (and he likes spicy food!) so beware. Twisted BBQ sauce is great, burgers are delicious, have now had the Mac Daddy(mac and cheese topped burger), pig pen(pulled pork topped burger), Packer burger(bleu cheese, fried egg and bacon topped burger), and the bubba burger(brisket and pulled pork topped burger) and if they didn't fill me up to the point of not being able to finish it I would have ordered the same burger again. My parents live in keystone so when we visit them we like to go to the tavern. Recently we experienced how amazing the nachos are! Seriously, I judge bars by their nachos and the tavern blows them away!!!!!!!! The service is outstanding and they know my parents and like to be outgoing. Went in with my wife and son. Ordered our dinner and patiently waited for our food. After 40 minutes, the bartender asked us if our order had been taken yet. My wife told her we had been waiting for 40 minutes, the bartender said she would check on our order. She said something to our waitress who finally went back into the kitchen to check on our order. At 45 minutes our waitress came to our table and told us our order was up next and should be ready in 30 seconds. After waiting another 5 minutes I left $4.00 to cover the beer I took one sip of while waiting for our food and we left, still hungry.
