Charlestons has been my go-to steak spot for over 20 years Through the years management has changed, locations have changed but the food has always remained the same high quality. I always get the filet with a baked potato and house salad with their home-made blue cheese dressing. I promise you'll never have blue cheese dressing better than theirs. You won't find a better made baked potato with perfect crispy, salty skin. You won't find a better prepared steak. And lastly you won't find a nice big flakey, buttery croissant with honey drizzled on top like charlestons The only negative I will give is I miss the ambiance of the older location. It was dimly lit and had a cozier family vibe compared to the new brightly lit more open, modern design Other than that all of their food is top notch. I know other family really enjoy their shrimp scampi and noodle dishes. They also make killer bread pudding when it's on the menu!

I've been going to Charleston's as long as they've been in business, always had great food, always had great service. I'm not sure how long it's been on the menu, but they now have fried chicken and they knocked it out of the park. I've had a two weeks in a row now. Once inside and wants to go. Both times incredible.

Had a nice meal to help celebrate our wedding anniversary. Would appreciate the staff doing a little more to make it more memorable, but the food was great. Kids had the burger and ribs. Both were cooked perfectly. Had the 1/2 chicken, which had so much flavor and the salad was really good. It came with a croissant, which was delicious. Kind of wish they gave enough for the table. Hard to split 5 ways. I liked that they had Coke products. It was pretty quiet at 5 pm, but got busier towards the end.

Charleston's has been my family's go-to "what should we eat for dinner" restaurant since I've been a kid. I was sad to see it leave the old location, but I was happy to hear they were keeping the same menu. My husband and I visited the new location last week and had a really good meal. We started with the chips and queso, which I had never had, but it was great - a little spicy! I had a chicken and avocado club. This was a nice, large portion and tasted light and fresh. My husband had the enchilada plate, and he was also impressed by his meal. The only note I have is the ambiance - it is LOUD. I feel like the dark, moody feel of the old building inherently lent itself to using quieter voices, but the bright, new location does not. I hope the invest in some kind of noise-reducing infrastructure, because I know I'm not the only person to notice the voice level.

First time trying charlestons and everything was delicious. Enchiladas were super tasty, and the croissants were some of the best I have ever had. I will definitely be back to try more things.

Always have to get their shrimp dynamite salad!! So beyond good and they're croissants!! Their martinis are always hitting the spot as well!

My hubby works right across the street and I have never been to Charleston's. Well, what can I say? It's beautiful in the restaurant our waiter was friendly, outgoing and pretty cool. Lunch was delicious. Lots of options to choose from and they sometimes have promotions. I had gotten a sandwich and it was pretty big so I was only able to eat one half, but I had something for later. I got home, my son saw the box and I got suckered out of the other half. He loved it too. This review has been a long time coming, so I think I will be planning our next date night.

I've been in a lot but first time at the new location! Atmosphere and service are both great and fast--just as they were in the old spot. The salad (I subbed shrimp) is amazing--one of my favorites in town! This time it didn't come with as much dressing as usual which was disappointing, but all in all they are a very consistent spot and have a great variety, paired with excellent service!

Fantastic experience during a busy holiday season with family in town. The fish and chips were amazing and really enjoyed the bit of spice that came on the coleslaw. Service was spectacular and felt like a very warm and comfortable dining experience.

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

We both ordered the Whiskey Top Sirloin with the Whiskey Marinade with baked potato and salad bar. Includes Bread. The Bread came first and was warm. The bread is really good. The salad bar is decent. Ice berg and greens. I skipped the ice berg and went with the greens. Lots of basic toppings, but everything was fresh. The steak arrived. We both ordered medium to medium well with a light pink center. Mine came out less than rare and was raw in the center. My wife's was half correct and half rare. She kept it and ate the good part. I sent it back. Before sending it back it was very hard to cut the steak. When it came back it was charred and now it was like chewing shoe leather. The worse steak I have gotten at a restaurant. The first 3 tables had steaks sent back that we saw and another two tables sent steaks back. This is a problem with the cook. This is a steakhouse and having a cook who doesn't know how to prepare a steak is a serious problem. The waitress never came back and the service was terrible. Just opened up for the evening and not warm and friendly. I had a show to go to and was not sending it back again and based on the experience so far I wouldn't want to send it back. I won't return due to the service. The wait staff saw and knew how many steaks were being returned. That would be a huge red flag to involve management. They didn't do anything to make it right and we had a show to catch. The return to The Drover was a huge disappointment and need a different staff and master cooking steaks as a steak house.

The steak was cooked perfectly! We were sat right upfront to over look the old market and it was clean and I loved the home feel of the space, very casual and comfortable. Our server (ugh, can't remember his name) was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. This fit the bill so we walked over around 5pm one evening for an early dinner after spending the day exploring the zoo. When we arrived the place was pretty empty - think maybe two tables occupied, and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We did not, and honestly she seemed a bit put out for a bit. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.
