    Whiskey Rib Eye

I was disappointed by my Steak experience at the Drover. I came with a group and we were able to be accommodated last minute which was great and appreciated. I was told this restaurant had one of the best Steaks in Omaha so my expectation were high. I ordered the Whiskey Ribeye with broccoli and soup. The soup of that day was baked potato and honestly pretty good. A little heavy for a starter but it was flavorful and a nice starter. As for the steak, I ordered it medium, but when it initially came out it, it was way undercooked and very rare. I had to send the steak back and wait for another one while the rest of the table was eating. For a $50+ meal, I expect it to be correct the first go round. After receiving my steak and eating, I was disappointed in the lack of flavor. It was an underwhelming experience. If I was in Omaha again, I would find another place to get a steak from

One of my goals in visiting Omaha for the first time was trying some great local steakhouses. While my experience at The Drover was really good, I'm not sure it qualified as particularly memorable. The restaurant itself has a light western theme and has good and fast service. The steak itself was solid and cooked well - but less flavorful than I thought it would be. Bread was impressive but also just a bit "normal". I wouldn't hesitate to return, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to.

This is a great, classic restaurant with a real cozy feeling because of the great setting. It's a great place to take people for special occasions or just for a great dinner. If you are visiting from out of town, it's a must stop for a great midwestern steak dinner - go with the Whiskey filet. Any choice of meat you choose will be great and they are cooked to perfection of your ask. We also had an order of crab legs that were great portion sized. This is one of our favorite places to go!

This is such a great restaurant to have nearby and I love celebrating special occasions here. The food is top notch, and every time I come back I remark about how it's every bit as good as I remember. The Whiskey Filet is my favorite - the whiskey marinade really adds to the flavor of the meat, and it is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The steaks are always cooked to the degree of done-ness you order, which is hard to find. The sides are generous, along with bread for the table to start. I love the fries and asparagus the most. You also get a salad bar or soup of the day. All in all, this is a great steakhouse and one of my favorite places to take people in Omaha.

I've been going to the drover since I was a kid. Love the classic steakhouse vibes. Dim light, lots of dark woods arguably the best salad bar in the state. Free bread to start. Whiskey filet hits every single time. Whiskey marinate or don't get the steak at all--it's unforgettable

The Drover is a dark, western themed steak house just off of 72nd, and people in Omaha are divided on it. In the 3 decades I've been going there little has changed (with the exception of some parts of the interior cause of a fire). Newer steakhouses will be more of a "an experience", but for me The Drover being frozen in time is what makes it great. The Whiskey filet is great, and their signature dish. The pork chops are properly seasoned, and more importantly not dry and overcooked like most places. The service has always been friendly and accommodating. Be sure to make reservations.

Disclaimer: we sat at the bar, not the dining room. A nearly flawless steakhouse experience. The only down side is how crowded it gets, and the service can feel rushed and people are hovering Around you at the bar. If we had a real table this might have been better. So the good: classic steakhouse with exceptional whiskey steak styles. The food is amazing and a good value. The place also looks like a time capsule for cowboy chic western style, bridging the moment when cowboys went from blue collar jobs to more well paying energy jobs. Food: 5/5. The steak dinner comes with a salad bar option that is diverse and satisfying! But save room for the steak, the real star Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4/5

Another year, another good experience at the drover! I had a whiskey filet as always. Cooked perfectly! Their salad bar and sides are always prepared well.

Knew exactly where to go for my company's holiday party dinner! I love the restaurant design - it keeps parties relatively secluded and ready to eat. The Drover is an excellent spot for anyone who loves a good steak. I got to splurge on the t-bone and it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also got some bacon wrapped shrimp and cheesy potatoes for the table and they were amazing. The salad bar is great as well to make your meal feel a little healthier ;) Ending with some homemade turtle cheesecake was an excellent choice!

On a trek across the country and found this steakhouse while looking through yelp for dinner recommendations in Omaha! After reading a little about what to expect, we decided to have dinner here and sure weren't disappointed! Our table ordered the Drover prime rib (to share for two of us) and another in the party had the evening special 12 ounce bone in filet. Each of the entrees comes with the salad bar which is standard-- nothing out of the ordinary. We had the prime rib prepared with the whisky sauce and it was so delicious, cooked to perfection. As a side, we had baked potatoes and the sautéed mushroom-- all were equally tasty. We were able to get a last minute reservation so we were seated immediately. A cocktail waitress stopped by soon after to get our drink order and then our waiter came by within the first 5 minutes to get our order. Water was refilled and we felt the amount of attention we had throughout the meal was appropriate. The restaurant is a little dimly lit, but overall a great steakhouse feel. While it was a little pricey, it was definitely worth it!

The Drover is a very classic steakhouse with a great ambiance. I like that the rooms are separated and have only a few tables per room for a cozy feel. The servers are very quick to get to you and to the point. I love that they have a good old salad bar and warm bread as appetizers. I also got the whisky ribeye and it was cooked correctly and delicious. It's a little pricey but great for a good celebration!

When in Omaha, you gotta have a steak, right? Well, I was in town for Berkshire weekend and had made plans to get dinner at The Drover. Their bourbon selection and emphasis on "whiskey steaks" sold me. I had a reservation, and it was a good thing I made plans ahead: walking in the place was absolutely packed. Tables full of suits talking about things like markets and EBITDA. I saw two folks who tried to walk up get turned away. The service was generally OK despite the capacity. My bread and soup came out fast after putting in my order. However, there was quite a delay before my steak came out, but it was expected. The bread? A warm wheat round loaf, served with salted butter. It was reminiscent of the brown bread at Cheesecake Factory. For my soup, I got the Clam Chowder: not too hot, loaded with potatoes and less loaded on the clams. Drinks? The whiskey selection was indeed pretty good. They had bottles of Weller, EH Taylor, and Blanton's on the bar, which I am sure would impress a bourbon enthusiast. I personally would have liked to see some more craft options. For my entree, I got the Whiskey Ribeye: perfectly cooked, but not sure what made it a "whiskey steak." Didn't taste any influence from any whiskey. It needed a little bit more seasoning, but it was overall a good cut of meat. With an old school lounge meets wild west atmosphere, The Drover satisfied my craving for a classic steak dinner.

In Omaha and looking for a good steak? This is a quaint steakhouse that's about a 10-minute drive from downtown Omaha. I am giving 3 starts because the steak was pretty good, but not amazing. Furthermore, my server forgot my drink and it took a long while to get my food. The best part of my experience was just the atmosphere and decor. If I'm ever back in Omaha, I won't be back here. I think there are other better steak joints in the area if you're just looking for flavor.

How much are the steaks here?

It varies depending on size, cut and time of visit. They have phenomenal lunch specials!

Can you order a steak(Filet,Ribeye) for lunch?? Don't see any on the lunch menu.

Can you get a steak(filet, ribeye) at lunch? Do not see any listed on lunch menu. Thanks

Do they offer the t-bone steak? I see it in pictures but not on the menu? P.S. Do they also offer the bone-in rib eye steak(not to be confused with the prime rib roast) and…

They had it on the menu when we were there at the top of the month.

Do they offer USDA Prime or USDA Choice steaks? It doesn't specify on their website.

"Certified Angus Beef" brand, registered trademark, since 1978. This company claims to be a cut above USDA prime. Bottom line: very high quality, better than what you will get in the store.

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. I kind of wondered if we were going to be able to eat in this empty restaurant, but alas she decided it was okay and we were seated. This is one of my pet peeves at restaurants. I know, I know, that there could have been a ton of business booked for later, but it's such a bad look to make such a big deal about reservations when the place is empty. Also - while it did start to fill it was by no means full by the time we left. At any rate, things perked up at that point and we all got seated, ordered drinks, food etc. and had a good time. The server was kind and thoughtful and the food was pretty tasty. I had the fish and chips and shared it with my husband as the entrees are a good size here. My six year old had the kids hamburger, though we did have a bit of a scare when the server said "your cheeseburger will be out soon!" we had a long wait on the kids meal and when she said cheeseburger I immediately said - "no cheese!" the menu item was described as a "hamburger" with no mention of cheese and our kid doesn't like cheese her burgers so that was a really close call. I sort of got the impression that server wasn't accustomed to kids, but when the burger came out it was right and even though she had to wait, my kiddo gave it two thumbs up. Overall this is a good pub style restaurant in Old Town. Nothing really to write home about, but they do have decent food and local beers which was all we really cared about after a long day at the zoo.

I did reserve a table in a certain room and when we got there they said all the tables were taken in that room so not sure what happened there, that was disappointing. Service was great....food was amazing - you have to try the prime rib it melts in your mouth along with the baked potato! Our meal came with a huge salad bar and we had the lemon cake for dessert / super yummy. Overall, can't go wrong with Brother Sebastian's!
