We stopped in on Saturday afternoon 6/12/21. We were greeted by Eve. What a great ambassador for this restaurant. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the menu and bar selections. We ordered mussels, jalapeño shrimp and a hummus platter to start. The smokiness of the mussels was a wonderful twist. Shrimp was very well prepared and the hummus didn't make it to my end of the table. Pictured are 3 of our 4 dishes. St Louis style ribs - great tasting dry rubbed with a super presentation. It was served with some smokey beans and a crock of Mac and cheese. I ordered the Timber Mac. Mac with 5 different cheeses, chicken and smoked pork belly burnt ends. This easily was one of the best dishes I have ever been served. No joke you should order this. We rounded it of with two wood fired pizzas a Italian sausage with the sauce on the side and a Lobster topped white pizza. Both impressive! We had such a great time here. The service, Eve was beyond excellent. The manager also visited and made some menu recommendations ( which we followed). The wood fired open kitchen and the racks of split oak wood throughout left you knowing something special was happening to your meal. Timber checks a lot of boxes: good happy hour prices, a nice shaded patio, plenty of cocktail options, and a solid kids menu that even includes salmon. The location in Countryside Village is a plus too, with a few other bars and spots right around the corner. Personally, the cocktails run a little sweet and the food a little heavy and salty for my taste, though I'll say that's a pretty common profile in Omaha restaurants, so it may land just right depending on what you're used to. One exception worth calling out is the lunch special: the Timber Hacked salad and soup combo for around $22 is a nice, more balanced option and probably my favorite way to eat here. We came here for brunch and overall had a pretty good experience. I ordered the French toast and it was definitely on the sweeter side, but in a good way, really well done and satisfying. The drinks were okay, nothing bad, but probably not something I would order again next time. It was very easy to make a reservation, which I appreciated, and parking right in front made it super convenient. The place itself was busy and a bit loud, so just something to keep in mind if you are looking for a quieter brunch spot. They do offer patio seating, and while it is right next to the parking lot, it is still nice to be outside. Overall, a solid brunch option, but a bit overpriced for what you get. read more

We visited timber wood a little while back for a family celebration lunch & had a really great experience. I did really like the vibes on the inside--lots of wood which was really cool. I enjoyed all the different varieties of cocktails on the menu. We had a really fun charcuterie board as an appetizer that we all liked. My personal favorite entrée was their mac & cheese that had chicken & burnt ends. Honestly, I still think about this mac & cheese, and I can't wait to have it again. Took some friends here for dinner while they were in town. Nice place! The Margherita Pizza was VERY GOOD! The Wedge Salad was also quite good. They were out of Mascati which was odd so I got a rose instead which was just okay. The service on the other hand was not great. They were very short and almost rude. I'm not sure why since they weren't too busy and we were very easy customers. I really hope they improve since the pizza was so good. I'll have to give it another try. read more

Love the atmosphere. The food was great and the service was amazing! I wanted the firewood pizza with a variety of vegetables and they normally just make it a certain way with no exceptions. The manager came to my table and explained they couldn't divert from what they normally cook. My husband mentioned that I was fighting cancer and that there are certain things I couldn't eat. Stopped by Timber's Firehouse Grill with a good friend and happened to catch restaurant week, which was a nice surprise. The special included three courses and dessert. The cheese dip with bread started things off perfectly--rich, flavorful, and honestly worth the visit on its own. I followed that with lamb chops and mashed potatoes. They were well prepared, but lamb just isn't really my thing, so I didn't love it as much as I might have. Dessert, on the other hand, was a knockout. A chocolate creation that disappeared so fast I didn't even get a photo, which says it all. The staff was awesome--attentive, warm, and made the evening feel easy and welcoming. This was our second time at the restaurant and it's the perfect date night location. Our server was quick, responsive, and friendly. We both got the Steak and frites which was amazing the truffle fries were delicious and the steak was crispy yet tender. The crab cake to start was the perfect portion and felt very fresh. Focaccia is amazing. The gnocchi sauce had a bit too much pepper but the gnocchi itself is absolutely wonderful - a little large in size - but wonderfully made. The salmon was good. The chicken was chicken, but we're taking it home, and the mashed potatoes too, which were decently good as well. The macaroni was not my taste personally. The lemon butter cake was also fabulous - covid ruined lemon for me, but the warm cookie-like base and the berry sauce was a delicious take. They were very busy, and handled it alright. I am excited to return at some point but my first meal there was only ok. Positives: Great calm atmosphere. A wide variety of food. Good service. Negatives: My sandwich was mushy. It had both crème fraiche and goat cheese. Texture is super important to me and this sandwich missed on that front. Back to the positive: I liked a lot of the flavors. My husband and I were meeting for brunch and after seeing the wait time at SCBC, decided to come here instead and I'm glad we did - I didn't even know Timber had brunch, so it was a very pleasant surprise. For the table, we got an order of the focaccia and the meatballs. I got the baked Ricotta pancake. I asked our waitress if there were any potato sides (has browns, tots, etc) on the menu and she pointed out the potato rosti, so I tried that as well. I tried the focaccia with the triple creme Brie and it was delightful! The creme Brie really made it and the bread was soft and fluffy. I skipped the meatballs, but they certainly smelled great! The ricotta pancake was absolutely divine! It literally melts in your mouth, it's that tender. I was very very happy with this dish. The potato rosti was a bit of a letdown - it was like mushy hash browns and were barely seasoned. I would skip this next time. This place is so cozy and fun. I love coming here for a nice dinner out or brunch with the girls. They offer bottomless mimosas, bottomless bloody Mary's, and bottomless brunch cocktails- all for $15 each (penny refills). This is such a good deal!! The food is always amazing. I think most everything is cooked in the wood fire oven. They can make a decent amount of items gluten free. My chicken was cooked to perfection and plentiful. My husband said his burger was cooked exactly as he asked and the soup was probably the best he has had in a very long time! I feel like with some slight improvements this could be a phenomenal restaurant. There were a few aspects that just made it a mediocre meal when it could have been exceptional. I knocked one star off because the food could have been slightly improved. The Brussels sprouts were the worst I've had in Omaha. Undercooked huge pieces of sprouts that were blandly seasoned and lacked sauce. The bacon shrimp skewer was a waste of money - appeared to be doused in grease and presented with tasteless guacamole - was not jalapeño at all. I'm not sure what this dish is supposed to be but it just comes off as confused. The pizza turned out great and the focaccia bread was SUPER delicious. I do have to say the kids meals were a great price with awesome options and seemed to be enjoyed by the kids. I took off another star because the service was not the best. I felt the server was not happy we were her last table - which I happened to overhear the manager mention. Two kids, one adult, not the most exciting I guess. I ordered the kids meals first to get them going which I felt annoyed her and then was forgotten about when it was my time to order. I do have to say this didn't really matter because the food all came out in a very timely manner. However, when the food did arrive we were not checked in on and all needed refills, more utensils and never received water. I went to the bar and had to ask the bartender for waters since our server kept disappearing and the kids were complaining they were thirsty. Overall, I'd still try this place again in hopes that small changes make the big difference. The menu seems to have really great options and I hope to see them executed to perfection next time. The food is very good, especially the stroganoff! The one thing I noticed was how uninviting the staff made us feel. The hostesses did not greet us with a smile, and the one that seated us looked borderline angry. Our waitress and server also appeared a bit unfriendly as opposed to greeting us with a smile and making us feel welcome. The restaurant is comfortable and warm - it was a very cold day! The wood burning ovens added to the atmosphere- the smell of wood burning and the stacks of wood around the restaurant. I enjoyed the Tomato Benedict -delicious and it is served with their hash brown type potatoes- don't miss these. My friend had the biscuit skillet - I tasted it too, so good - next time for sure! Great food! Timber is BUSY at peak times so, be prepared to wait or make a reservation ahead of time. Their pizzas are unique and delicious. I had some of the red wine poached pear and it as perfectly balanced and sweet. The Cedar Plank Salmon is so good. Cooked perfectly and a generous serving. The soy glaze is a perfect compliment to the salmon and veggies it is served with. I had the New York cheesecake for dessert and it was SO creamy.
