Relaxing wine & spirits spot in Midtown Onaha. Plenty of comfortable seating perfect for a quiet date night or large gathering of friends. Welcoming and accommodating staff. Nice decor. Great variety of cocktails with seasonal favorites to choose from. Location, location, location. The twinkle lights of Turner Park are a lovely backdrop in the winter months.

Proof is always the spot that comes to mind for amazing cocktails in Omaha...but when my friends and I saw they were doing an espresso martini flight on their fall menu, we had to get there asap!!! Grabbed seats at the bar, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The flight was beautifully presented and each drink was really quite good!! It is a little pricy ($50 but it is 4 whole martinis), and if you go during happy hour, you'll save a little. Perfect for sharing with a friend! Plenty of meter parking around Midtown Crossing, and they have a great patio overlooking Turner Park!

The drinks are made to order from fresh ingredients, all mixes are made in house. The bartender was so nice and knowledgeable!! They have outdoor seating available in the summer overlooking the park, so super relaxing. They don't serve food, but welcome patrons to bring their own food. Cost is reasonable considering the quality and atmosphere.

If you're staying at the Westin Element, this is connected to the entrance to the property in a weird sort of way. Bourbon, Scotch, and whisky is their game. Lots of rare, allocated bottles. If you've ever wanted to try something before you plop down $80 at a store, I recommend a place like this. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and timely. Bonus if you visit on Wednesday night. ALL whiskies are 25% off.

The cocktail selection with a full bar is excellent. It's a classy vibe, with exceptional service. Unfortunately they don't serve food, but you can bring yours in!!

Service is top notch and the bartenders are creative. Nice large patio to partake in your favorite cigar.

Happy-Hour | Chill | Snacks Happy-Hour: This place has happy hour until 7 PM. They do 25% off their entire menu for the happy hour special. Their Happy hour end time was REFRESHING! Normally happy hour ends at 5:30 or 6 PM. As someone who normally wants to change out of my work clothes before enjoying a cocktail, this is awesome. So, if you're going to grab a drink after work and it's 6:15 PM, this is your place. Chill: Overall, the place is super low-key. The bar is the establishment's focal point, and they have community tables throughout the indoor area. There are 1-2 booths in a corner. But, overall, it is a great place to show up with friends and meet new people. It's one of the few places organized in a way that highly encourages you to meet neighbors or bring groups of 6+. Snacks: This is definitely a drinking spot. Their food menu is extremely limited to snacks. We had the pretzel bites that were good to snack on, but this is either a place to start or finish your night. Pro Tip: They have indoor and outdoor space, so it will be a great spot to catch a drink after work or to start your weekend. Pro Tip: They have a massive cocktail menu. Very impressive. They have all types of liquors - So be prepared to pick your adventure. Their list has a great range in terms of tequila, whiskey, and scotches. So, if you have "high-end" taste or you want to do the "taste test" on your own with friends, this is a great spot.

This bar has a wonderful bourbon and whiskey collection with knowledgeable bartenders who can whip up fantastic creations. To start, I had an old fashioned, which was delicious. I then moved onto the smoky bandit, which is a scotch twist on the Cherrywood. Everything was delicious and their 25% off everything during Happy Hour is always a great bonus! I'll be back

Excellent selection of single malt scotch and whiskey. Bartender was friendly and had me try a few whiskey's. Hit the nail on the head with the first whiskey, Arron's Sauternes cask Single malt but went sideways after. The pricing was a little off put, can get quite expensive for what they're pouring. Will trial another attempt to see if it's worth a 5 star rating or if it sticks at 4. Also, didn't have but saw people across from us having the flatbread and it looked very appetizing!

Loved the location and the outdoor and indoor seating. Service was good and very knowledgeable of their drinks. I'd say these two drinks are the best on their menu. Ambiance is exactly how you'd want it to be, great spot for conversation.

Service was excellent and the drinks were fabulous. Jeremy assisted us when selecting cocktails and nailed it every time!

Lots of whiskeys, but they need a staff that knows what they are selling, and how their menu works. I ordered the digestif Green Chartruse. Off of the menu. I was told they don't have it. I ordered something else they'd didn't have it. Not a problem. The problem was when asked for a digestif, they say you want a shot of something. No. I want the 1.5 oz pour shaken over ice in a cordial glass. But being condescending about how a drink on your menu is worded and you telling me you don't understand the request. I think just a brush up on how drinks should be poured that are on the menu is a must in the service industry .

The service was great! Everyone was very attentive and it was a great spot to hang out before going to the Orpheum.

Great atmosphere with knowledgeable bartenders. I will be back. Only thing that would make it better to me is if they served apps.

The Barrel

Council Bluffs

Nice friendly place; Nice friendly bartenders; Excellent whiskey sours…read more Definitely recommend we will come back

The Council Bluffs 100 Block is the oldest commercial neighborhood in the metro area. Dating back…read moreto 1853, most of the block's buildings celebrated their sesquicentennial a couple of presidents ago. Omaha's first newspaper was printed on this block. This block is older than the invention of cocktails, imagine that. It was pretty rough and full of scoundrels in those halcyon days: journalists, lawyers, land speculators, railroad magnates, Abraham Lincoln. Eventually things improved as saloons, social clubs, gambling halls and bordellos moved in. Today, the 100 Block is to Council Bluffs what Buckhead is to Atlanta and a new whiskey bar called The Barrel is in the middle of it. The Barrel is a swanky, crafty, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, two-story lounge featuring cocktails made according to original recipes with top shelf brands. No mixes, no shortcuts. Every drink is a double just as our shameless forebears intended them. The interior is full of local art including the Barrel sign over the bar. It's well lit with high ceilings reflecting the warmth of the architecture and the staff.     The night I stopped in was moderately busy for a Friday night before 9 p.m. A dozen or so patrons filled the upstairs bar room before wandering downstairs to the more lounge-y Bottom of the Barrel. This is where the bands play and the furnishings swing more to the comfortable side of things. There is a bar here as well, but the craft cocktails were being made upstairs that night. So back upstairs, I asked for a recommendation to show me the takeaway, the thing I should know about The Barrel. Now normally, if a bartender recommends a whiskey sour I assume he thinks I'm in high school or doesn't want a tip, but the gregarious gent behind the bar that night was telling sincere stories, and not just with his beautiful scalp tattoos. The Whiskey Sour was a great place to start. The simple classic has been denigrated for decades by shortcuts and mixes. But this Whiskey Sour is born again hard made with Cody Road Rye, fresh lemon, egg white and love for only $8. Spectacular. And foamy. There is a literal wall of 130 whiskeys at The Barrel Each shelf is higher than the last. Your taste is limited only by your credit. Their Old Fashioned had me at spherical ice, but I intend to return for more classics (Manhattan, Negroni, Tom Collins) or clever originals (Brockway Bulldog, Baltimore Zoo or The Night is Dark and Full of Terror). And there's beer. Exile Beatnik Sour and Lagunitas IPA ($5), Burning Skye Scottish Ale, Lucky Bucket Wide Eye Coffee Stout, Millstream Pale Ale, Brickway Maple Pecan Brown Ale, Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter ($4.50) and Bud Light ($3). There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays, an open jam from 4-8 Sundays followed by an open mic until close, and comedy every second Wednesday. The Bottom of the Barrel has $3 premium wells on weekends and there is never a cover. With drinks like this, it's obvious why our ancestors were so unapologetic about drinking doubles.

Revival House - We got there very early in the evening by the time we left it was pretty full.

The space is super cute and bigger than I expected. I love that the windows open up and give it an indoor/outdoor vibe, and the tropical décor makes it feel fun and cozy at the same time. There's plenty of seating, and they can fit both small and big groups. We were a party of about eight and were still able to find a good spot together. Something I really liked is that they let you bring food from other places since they don't serve any, which is perfect if you want to hang out for a while. Their drink menu is huge, and the presentation is honestly amazing. When we first got there it was slow, but it definitely got busier as the night went on. We did struggle a bit when it was time to check out because all the servers were running around, so just be ready for that on a busy night. Overall, we had a great time. The drinks were really good, the vibe was great, and I'd definitely go back.

It was kind of confusing whether we had to go order at the bar or if someone was going to come take our order, but eventually someone came to us. I got the Exotic Bird and it was definitely my favorite drink out of the group. The seating was a bit of a challenge as we had to seat ourselves and we had a decently large group, so we had to wander around for a bit trying to find a spot, but we eventually did. I'll probably be back to try more drinks, but maybe when they are less busy!
