Can whoever decorated this bar come do my house? The vibes are super moody and the attention to detail (including some wallpaper on the ceiling!) are so cute, which just makes the whole ambiance. They also have a sizable room in the back that I assume can be used for a private space. Part of me forgot that we were steps away from annoyingly busy Leavenworth St. The parking can be tricky, but what bar in the midtown isn't that way? We went for their holiday drink specials. We ordered at the bar and the bartender was patient and helpful in helping me choose what drink to go with. Both were flavorful and the alcohol was well balanced with the rest of the ingredients. We look forward to going back!

I've had this bar on my list of places to check out for months since it opened. Their instagram account had a moody mid century modern aesthetic that I so desperately wanted to check out for myself. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure I'm interested in coming back. Not to say that there was anything massively wrong but just a lot of small disappointments. To start we came around 7pm on a Saturday. We took our seat at a table and wasn't sure if they had a cocktail menu so I was looking around for one but didn't see anything. I checked their website and Instagram just to be sure and did not find one. I thought that was odd for a place that says it's a "neighborhood cocktail bar". They did have a chalkboard with 3 specials on it that included a Dr. McGillicuddy's, Absolute and an old fashioned. Those weren't necessarily the type of spirits I was hoping for from a cocktail bar either. They did have some St. Patrick's Day drinks on special like Guinness and Jameson but nothing necessarily uniquely crafted. Despite the bar being quiet with just a few other patrons, we received no table service and had to order at the bar. The service was underwhelming for the quiet atmosphere. There were 3 bartenders (one was potentially a manager helping a band get set up with the sound system in the back). But no one came so we placed the order at the bar and waited for the drinks to be made to take back to our table. My Cosmo was $12 which seemed expensive for being a basic cocktail. If it had house made syrup, creative twist or even a fun garnish I think the price would be justifiable. It was fine but could have been better balanced. My guest opted for the Guinness and Jameson shot for $9. Both felt standard and uninspired. In general I think it's obvious I was disappointed. Secret Parks social media pages boasted an art deco, martinis, classy vision. I did quite enjoy the decor from afar - A Board and Batten wall, elegant light fixtures and gold accents but up close were faux plants and some out of place clown decorations and Christmas trees. It was a miss for me for what I was expecting. I would recommend approaching with caution curiosity.

This is no dive bar. Located in what was Bud Olsen's, someone has manifested a vision of class, charm, and cleanliness in what is far beyond a mere space "flip." New counters, new bar, new furniture, new bathrooms WHAT? Oh and this time there is an actual patio space, not a gravel parking lot. As a fan of the former incarnation of this space, I can honestly say that Secret Park is a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Our bartender admitted that he was not old enough when Bud's was open to enter but nevertheless made me a fine happy hour fun and tonic. Five beers are on tap, four are from Nebraska. They seem to have a reasonable gun, bourbon and whiskey selection; rums are sparse. Follow on socials for updates related to food trucks and specials.

I've been to Secret Park a couple of times since they opened in the old Bud Olson's. Other than the shell of the original building, you won't find any remnants of its predecessor. This place is dim, chill, decorated with plants and nicely appointed. The drinks are a work in progress but I noticed an improvement from my first visit to my second. Hopefully they continue to improve. The service was great on both visits. It's a bit chilly to try the back patio but it's a nice option especiallyas it warms up. It's a great addition to the Leavenworth strip in midtown.

The space is super cute and bigger than I expected. I love that the windows open up and give it an indoor/outdoor vibe, and the tropical décor makes it feel fun and cozy at the same time. There's plenty of seating, and they can fit both small and big groups. We were a party of about eight and were still able to find a good spot together. Something I really liked is that they let you bring food from other places since they don't serve any, which is perfect if you want to hang out for a while. Their drink menu is huge, and the presentation is honestly amazing. When we first got there it was slow, but it definitely got busier as the night went on. We did struggle a bit when it was time to check out because all the servers were running around, so just be ready for that on a busy night. Overall, we had a great time. The drinks were really good, the vibe was great, and I'd definitely go back.

The seating was a bit of a challenge as we had to seat ourselves and we had a decently large group, so we had to wander around for a bit trying to find a spot, but we eventually did. I'll probably be back to try more drinks, but maybe when they are less busy!

Drinks are expensive for what you get. I tried their premium old-fashioned, and honestly, it was no better than a standard old-fashioned elsewhere. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing memorable--certainly not at that price point. Service was slow, which was surprising given that it was a quiet night. On top of that, since the bar is in the hotel basement, there's no cell service. The Wi-Fi password I was given didn't work, which made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall, it's a visually interesting space, but the combination of pricing, slow service, and connectivity issues made it not my favorite bar experience.

But--I'd discourage going to this part of the hotel. After my experience from the first review, I called and had 2 separate conversations with the manager to try to rectify the situation. He sent the info to accounting and 2 months later, I still hadn't heard anything back. It was clear they didn't consider the situation important enough to look into, so that was really discouraging as an IHG hotels member and have spent a fair amount of money here over the past several years.

I made a reservation for five of us, and we were counting down the days like it was a holiday. When we arrived, we valet parked and made our way inside. The restaurant is a little tucked away. Head downstairs past the hotel lounge and you will find it. It kind of gives the place a secret, speakeasy vibe, which I loved. We were greeted warmly and led to a private dining room that was beyond charming. It featured a renovated poker table that now serves as a dining table. It was unique, intimate, and perfect for our group. We were offered still or sparkling water right away, and the service was attentive from start to finish. Joe, our server, was fantastic. He knew we were celebrating and made the experience feel personalized from the moment we sat down. He also knew I was there for the Beef Wellington. I had noted it in the reservation, which I highly recommend, because they only prepare a limited number each day. They saved one for me, and I am still dreaming about it. Since it was our first time, we went all out. We shared Caesar salads, a small chilled seafood tower, bourbon-glazed pork belly, and an artisanal cheese board. Everything was top-notch. I do not even eat seafood, but the tarragon sauce on the tower was absolutely incredible. I would put that on toast, fries, maybe even a shoe. It was that good. For mains, most of us ordered the New York strip steaks. My husband chose the Summer of Steak flight, and I finally got my hands on the Wellington. Every entrée was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. These were easily some of the best steaks we have had in Omaha. We also ordered four sides to share, which was just right for our group of five. The truffle fries were hot and crispy with a lemon aioli that I wanted to take home in a bottle. The asparagus was fresh and perfectly done. The mashed potatoes were whipped and fluffy. The aged cheddar mac and cheese was everything it should be--gooey, rich, and ridiculously satisfying. Naturally, we did not stop there. We sampled a few desserts: Baked Alaska, Coconut Torte, and the Blackstone Butterbrickle. All three were excellent. There was not a single bite left behind. The cocktails were also a standout. Some of the best margaritas we have had in a while. The bartender deserves his own round of applause. Yes, it was a splurge. With tip, the bill came to around $1,200. But it was a birthday, and as my dad always says, if the food and the experience were good, it was money well spent. And this absolutely was. The Committee Chophouse delivered at every level: flavor, service, ambiance, and attention to detail. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we can go back.
