One of my favorite restaurants in town! The restaurant has a great atmosphere, but what really stood out to me was its mission and commitment to creating opportunities within the community. To drink, I ordered the Açaí Cosmopolitan, which was refreshing and well-balanced. For dinner, we shared the crab and sweet corn croquettes, braised short ribs, and scallops. Every dish was excellent. The croquettes were crispy on the outside and packed with flavor, while both the short ribs and scallops were cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. It's always nice to find a restaurant that delivers both great food and a meaningful purpose. Between the delicious meal, thoughtful service, and mission behind the restaurant, Ooh De Lally is absolutely worth a visit. read more

Ooh De Lally: Golly what a lovely evening. Sad we finally made it here for the first time while living so close but so happy we have a new regular spot and suggestion for others. We went on a Wednesday evening for my wife's birthday. Reservation maybe not required but there were quite a few tables in use. We had our 18month old with us and they were very accommodating. The staff was great very friendly. One of our servers was training another and they were both great sad I can't remember their names for a shoutout. Drinks: I had the Thymekeeper which was a mezcal drink which I really enjoyed the thyme infused smokiness to it and the lemon and passion fruit gave it just enough sweet/sour to balance perfectly. My wife had the Açaí Cosmo and said it was her favorite cocktail of the last year at least. Fav cosmo ever also. Starters: Dundee Dip which is just cheesy goodness the bread soaks up the oils and was very tasty. The sausage had a really strong flavor which I enjoyed fennel in it I think. The banana peppers gave it a perfect hint of kick/crunch. Mains: Marks signature Mac and cheese which was great and had a really unique flavor this was ordered first and came out quick for the baby which was super nice they accommodated our request. We all loved it. I had the short rib grilled cheese and upgraded to the broccolini. It also came with an amazing herbed horseradish dip that was to die for. Perfect blend with the sandwich. Only ate half and had the other half for lunch the next day and was still very tasty. My wife had the smoked chicken lasagna which she really enjoyed it also had a super unique flavor that was great. They ended up giving us a free dessert for her birthday which we had to take to go as our daughter was acting up and we didn't want to ruin other guests experience. She went with the peach cobbler cheesecake I believe it was called and it was also delicious. They take and box up all the leftovers in the back which I always enjoy and use nice microwave safe containers which makes taking it to work or warming up a breeze. 10/10 all around for service, food quality, and atmosphere. The raspberries on top were a perfect match! - The cheesecake was so far from store bought, it reminded me of homemade cheesecake! The texture was thick and almost curdy in a way, not the overly smooth almost gelatinous of big brand slices. It was delightful with spiced peaches. The lemon tart was a big favorite with my family, surprising us all with its filling and bright fresh flavor! We visited Ooh De Lally for Valentine's Day and it was amazing!!! This place has been on my bucket list for a while, so I was so happy we finally made it. We started with the short rib fries and they were SO good. I had the Ooh De Lally salad with salmon, and my boyfriend ordered the lasagna. Of course, we also had to try their famous mac n cheese. I chose Ooh de Lally for my birthday dinner last night and I'm so glad I did! We had reservations for 7:00 but got there early to have a drink outside on their lively patio. Well we ended up eating out there because the weather was absolutely perfect! Our server, Jackie, started us with a bottle of wine and the Crab and Sweet Corn Croquettes. These little patties were fried perfectly and loaded with crab, not just fillers. I have to be honest and say I'm not sure where the sweet corn comes into play because I didn't see any in the cakes, unless it's blended into the remoulade sauce, but it was fantastic. So many things I wanted to try on the menu but I chose the Faroe Island Salmon. I have to say it was the best salmon I have ever had! I typically lean towards salmon at most restaurants so I've had it many times and this dish definitely ranks at the top. Nice thick fillet cooked perfectly, moist and flaky with a nice seared outside. Served with a sweet/sour type of condiment that paired perfectly with each bite. Toasted orzo along side was delicious also. Jackie was amazing and so helpful with suggestions and making sure we were well taken care of. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other tempting dishes on the menu or just to sit outside on the patio for cocktails. Ooh de Lally has been on my wishlist to visit for a long while, and my husband and I just got to O in our ABC restaurant challenge so it was the perfect occasion to finally take the plunge! First off, I LOVE their mission. Helping formerly incarcerated/rehabilitated folks enter the workforce with a career in the culinary arts or other areas of the hospitably field. I absolutely love it. And aside from the mission, everything about Ooh de Lally is fantastic! The service, the ambiance, the food - everything! It is such a cute place. Lots of airy light blue touches, nice wood features, and cute murals and art pieces around. The bar has really cool lighting features too, with a vintage feel, that really ties it all together. Our server (I didn't catch her name, arg) was absolutely fantastic. She made sure our drinks were always filled, even when they were super busy on a Sunday at brunch time. We were there for the aforementioned brunch, and WOWZA, everything was to die for. I am not usually even a brunchy/breakfast person, and even I had to give them props for converting this hater. The brunch spread is in the side room by the entrance, and in that small side room they pack a lot of great stuff! The sweet potato hash, Mac and cheese, steak with au jus, and all the delicious pastries - yum! And to top it all off - the brunch is only $30 per person! You cannot find that price anywhere else at this high of quality. We will be back for the lunch and/or dinner too, to try out another style of their food. Girls night out and we were looking for a quiet place for conversation. Ooh de Lally perfectly fit the bill. Nice setting, friendly staff, and quiet. Granted, it was only 5:30, but even as it began to fill up, it worked. Entrees are a little on the high side, but there are offerings across the spectrum with sandwiches and salads. We opted for high end. Lobster roll and lobster mac and cheese. Ooh de Lally is in the space formerly known as Mark's, and their four cheese mac-n-cheese carries on their famous tradition. One of the cheeses is blue, which adds just a touch of -- "Yum, what is that?" that keeps you coming back. The sauce is light and not overly thick, which also is a delight. There were nice chunks of lobster, but in and of itself, lobster is not a rich flavor, so it can get overwhelmed by the cheeses. That said, there is a less expensive no-lobster mac on the menu. The lobster roll was brimming with its star ingredient and was good to the last bite. For a side we had broccolini, which was just meh. Nicely cooked, but not especially seasoned. For dessert, we tried the key lime tart, which was delightfully tart! Instead of standard graham cracker crust, it was more of a shortbread, which was nice. The meringue on top -- just right. I want to give this place more than five stars, but here we are. From the start, this was a fantastic experience. We came here for my birthday dinner because I was so impressed by their mission. I included on our reservation that our daughter has an egg allergy and when we arrived they had a special menu marked up with what items would be safe, what items could be modified, and what items would not be possible for her. I've never had a restaurant put that level of prep or thought into a menu for an allergy before. From the outside to the inside, Ooh De Lally is gorgeously curated, moody, and perfect for a sexy date night or girls dinner. My best friend let the servers know it was my birthday and they were so kind, welcoming, and made me feel so special for my special day, even bringing me a creme brûlée with a celebratory candle on the house! The food was delicious, and we both dug into each others' plates to try everything. I am thrilled that Ooh De Lally has been open for lunch!! When I first tried them they were just opening up and only offered Dinner. We did get to try their dinner one night with my boyfriend's parents and it was delicious!! I ordered the Mark's Mac & Cheese that night and it was rich and divine! I was thinking about enjoying lunch there myself for a few days and finally pushed the trigger. I checked their hours, they close at 2 for lunch, and planned my workout to stop by for lunch after. It worked out really well! I stopped in asked the host if I could sit outside and already knew what I wanted. I loved sitting on the patio next to the flowers and watching the bumble bees hop from one flower to another. The waitress was wonderfully friendly, happy to seat me and seemed to love that I was taking myself out on a date! It wasn't a cheap date but I knew I wanted to try that lobster roll and treat myself. I probably wouldn't order it again because of the steep price but I did enjoy it very much! I loved every bite and I ate every bite! I finished off my meal with the savory, sweet, and decadent chocolate creme brulee. It was the perfect ending to my patio lunch date! The setting on the patio is casual and peaceful! Exactly what I needed today. I still look forward to going back again and enjoying lunch! Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Ooh De Lally. We initially came because the menu looked good and we loved the story of the restaurant. Honestly, we were wowed from beginning to end. The food here is great. I didn't have a bite or a drink that I didn't like. Let me start with the lobster roll. It's a bold move to serve a lobster roll on your menu in landlocked Omaha, Nebraska lol but it tasted amazing. Generous succulent chunks of lobster, perfectly seasoned on a really nice roll. I'm also a sucker for hand cut fries. These were cooked to perfection and served with one of the best aïoli sauces I've ever had. I was literally using fries to scrape the bottom of the ramekin. The muscles were great, and it was the broth that really made this dish a home run. I liked how it was served with the toasted bread standing in the dish to make an interesting shape, and they gave a very generous portion of broth. We also ordered the steak and potatoes. I'm not sure what kind of steak it was, it was a little more toothsome so I'm guessing it was a flat iron or a sirloin, but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare as we requested. The potatoes on the side were phenomenal. Well-cooked, amazing flavor, and a perfect pairing with the red meat. Our service was attentive and friendly, and the timing of the dishes coming out of the kitchen was spot on. We enjoyed the unique furnishings and atmosphere, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Both were flavorful with ample portions. I paired mine with Alexander Valley Cab/Sauv. She finished her mocktail with her meal. Staff was friendly and attentive; everyone seemed genuinely engaged. And I'm so glad Marks old location is being utilized again, I always loved the charming outdoor patio and floor to ceiling windows overlooking underwood. Didn't realize how the restaurant was partially in an old house, very cool intimate place with a large bar. We were lucky to have a table by the windows. We started with the Sweet Corn and Crab Croquettes. They were delicious, mostly crab and came with a yummy sauce. For entrees we had the scallops and the short ribs. The scallops were perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth and full of flavor, paired with fingerling potatoes and roasted carrots. The short rib was tender and tasty with a tangy jaus and sautéed greens. Both were mouth watering and we wanted to like our plates clean. The Clear and Present Danger cocktail was my favorite very acidic with a nice amount of spice. The Peach Pepper Margarita was also very good with peach puree and dried apricot. My friends and I decided to try out the brunch buffet at Ooh De Lally for the first time, and were pretty satisfied with the experience. Google had originally said that the restaurant was closed on Sundays, but when you called the restaurant they confirmed it was open 10am-2pm for brunch, so bear that in mind when deciding to go here. I wish they would update the times on google, as we almost didn't go since we thought it was closed. We had made a reservation for the 4 of us, and when we arrived we were seated quickly even though it was already fairly packed. The restaurant itself is on the smaller more intimate side. There was lots of open windows overlooking Dundee, and so the view was beautiful. The brunch menu itself was small, but it was all you can eat so there was plenty of food to satisfy your hunger. The food overall was good. There was not a whole lot of variety or selection, but the food that was served was fairly hot and flavorful. I know they have limited room to place all the food, but they made do with the space they had. There was a little bit for everyone, but I do wish there was more variety of food served. Overall, for the price you pay and the food quality it is worth the price to me. I would love to check out their lunch/dinner menu in the future! read more

We showed up without a reservation but not to worry because there's a cute little bar just below called La Bo with stellar drinks to wait! This was our first time dining at Ooh De Lally and we chose it to celebrate my husband's birthday. The proximity to our home is great and they have a really cute space. Service was good and prompt. I found our server to be very friendly! I really liked the cocktails (Horsing Around and a Lemon Drop) we ordered and we had the crab and sweet corn croquettes as our starter. They were crispy and the remoulade served with them had great flavor. Our entrees were pretty good but they unfortunately didn't knock it out of the park for me. I ordered the lobster roll (which ended up being $37) and it tasted extremely bland. I barely had any of the sauce and I think it would have made a big difference had there been more. Such a bummer there. My husband chose the short rib grilled cheese and that ended up being pretty tasty. As his side, he got the fries which were okay. The aioli served with them was delicious though. My side was broccolini and I enjoyed it. Our daughter got a side of Mac and cheese and ate some of our sides. She was a happy camper. The atmosphere was dark and cozy, with comfortable seating and low ceilings. I'm sure the views are better in the daylight! They had just rolled out a new menu that day, and our server wasn't super familiar with it, but he did a great job answering any questions we had. We tried a couple of the appetizers, short rib fries were the standout, fresh cut fries with a tasty sauce and tender short rib on top. For an entree I ordered the smoked chicken lasagna, which was a very unique take on lasagna and I savored every bite! Parking was fairly easy around Dundee even on a busy Saturday night. First thing off the bat, our server Kristen has an amazing personality and is fabulous at her job. I sincerely hope that she accomplishes everything she is striding towards in life. I absolutely loved our entire experience here. The mission of Ooh de Lally is reason enough for a visit, but the fantastic service and equally delicious food seals the deal. I loved my spicy margarita with a tajin rim. We also had the Brussels and crab cakes as an app. The Brussels sprouts may be some of the best I've ever had. They have almost a Parmesan crust that set them over the top. I had the classic Marks mac and cheese. This is as good as I remember, and I love the note of blue cheese in the mix.
