This was my first time having any type of multiple course meal and this really set the bar high. Every single thing was extremely flavorful. Our server was great and kept us informed us every step of the way. We did not do the wine pairings but have heard great things about it. Seating was a bit tight, it was very busy, but not too bad, the ambiance of the restaurant made up for it in its charm.

I was in town for a conference and looked at Yelp and this popped up! The ambiance is so lovely. It really is a beautiful place with lots of greenery . I had an incredible meal and chatted it up with the bartender.Service was pretty slow but it was a Friday night and for fine dining if you're not alone that's preferred. For me alone it felt realllly slow. I had the pink pony club and liked it so much I had to have two. I got the peaches and cream which really was my favorite- the flavors together were just so unique and incredible. I got the signature egg and that was delicious. Lastly was the tar tar and it was good but for me I haven't had one with so much filler before. I also think they may have forgotten about it. I would come again, and especially get the peaches and cream!

We went to españa night last night and the menu and food was excellent. Food was all just as I remembered it from España and tapas came out hot and fresh and quickly! They were busy but still came to refill waters and clear plates quickly. Can't wait til next year so I can have my tapas again! My only complaint is that it's really dark in there and it was hard to see my food and take pictures absolutely recommend and would like to come back and try their other menus too!

I don't think I can leave a glowing enough review for this place that even does it justice! If I could rate 10 stars I would. Au Courant is one of THEE best restaurants in Omaha. We did the tasting menu which is 6 courses plus wine pairings. I didn't think I would be full by the end but by the fourth course I nearly was stuffed and I barely could keep up on my wine parings (this is a good thing meaning the pours aren't just sips!) Each course was absolutely fabulous and unique. The sommelier did an amazing job talking about each paring and was super fun and nice to interact with. Our waiter was also pretty great and lively. We ended the dinner with a little espresso and that was a pretty great end to a perfect dinner and experience. I literally can not wait to come here again. If I had the money, I'd be here every week (note that this place is a little pricey but as you can tell...worth every penny). I also would probably make a reservation if you plan on coming here! The atmosphere is gorgeous, with romantic lighting and intimate tables. Great for dates, one-on-ones, or small groups!

Excellent tasting menu from a Swiss chef. Sat at the bar and Bartender was excellent. Food is delicious and properly sized for 7 courses. Only critique is the running staff from the kitchen was disinterested in describing the courses. Mumbling quickly and running over to chatter with other staff. Otherwise 4.5 out of 5 Delicious dining

"This is my most favorite restaurant in all of Omaha." Quote from my son before escorting me for a beyond beautiful birthday outing to this fabulous niche spot on main street Benson. He insisted that we do the chef's tasting made up of 6 courses. He did not steer me wrong. What an explosion of flavors and fun individual perfect serving sizes of creative culinary delights. To top it off, I chose a splendid Beaujolais that paired perfectly with every dish. The service was exquisite and so professional! Now I'm telling everyone who will listen to go directly to Au Courant. Don't pass go. Don't collect $200. JUST GO! Oh PS, try the oysters. Best I've ever had and I've even eaten oysters in New Zealand!

Service was fabulous. Food is worth experiencing at least once. Did find the gnocchi a little too salty for my taste and the homemade pork sausage was fabulous but quite rich after several bites. Oysters were flavorful but small - but then again - we aren't in the gulf. Worthwhile to try.

A group of friends and I visited Au Courant for one of their birthday dinners. I had never been to Au Courant, but had heard good things, so I was super excited! When we walked in to the restaurant we were immediately greeted by a lively atmosphere, lots of plants and fun decor, a cool bar at the center, and a wonderful host who sat us at our table. We had made a reservation, and I'm so glad we did because they were very busy. It added to the bustling ambiance, so I didn't mind, but just be sure you call ahead/book online as it seemed very few walk ins were getting tables. Our group of four each decided to dine a la carte. Just a note, if you want to do the Chef's Tasting Menu or the A La Carte menu, the decision has to be made for the whole table. You can't do half the people doing a la carte and half the chef's menu, so definitely decide beforehand how your group will dine. They have a great list of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits. I had the Fat Orange Cat IPA (because I like IPAs and have a fat orange cat myself), and it was light and crisp, perfect for the hot summer day. My friend ordered the Cola cocktail, and it tasted exactly like a Coca Cola but had some hidden gin and sherry in there. So, as I said, our group did the a la carte menu, and because of that we got to order lots of different things and share a few bites of each, which I loved. For starters, we had three: -Chovy's Egg: We actually each got one of these, and I recommend that because it's not gigantic (and it doesn't need to be, because it's packed with flavor). This is titled after the chef de cuisine's nickname (Chovy) so we knew this would be good if he put his name on it, and we were correct. It was a perfectly cooked little egg with a garlic aioli piped on top, sitting atop a bed of zucchini, corn, and a few other crunchy veg bits. It was a perfect bite to start the meal out. -Crostini Baguette: These were tasty little toasted baguette slices topped with a mixture of black beans, bacon, some green sprigs, and a smoky little aftertaste that worked so well with the crunchy bite of baguette. -Tartare: This was so surprisingly delicious. It arrived as a little sphere of tartare mixed with corn and a cabbage topping, with some little toast points to dip into it. It was refreshing and heavenly the way they paired the veggies with the tartare. Our group ordered three different entrees: -Flatiron: My choice, and it was decadent and deceptively filling. It was cut into four strips, which made it a lot easier to manage on the plate. Each piece I sliced off literally melted in my mouth, and the orange jus that it was drizzled in was so flavorful. The accompaniments were some veggies that were seasoned expertly, and potato pave which were little expertly fried up pieces of potato squares (I know that sounds weird, but they are in my dreams now). -Pork Tomahawk: This was my husband's choice, and he couldn't be happier. The tomahawk was glazed in a tomato flavor, and covered in small yam slices and some greenery on top, adding the meaty, greeny, and sweet flavors all together in each bite. -Chicken: My friend ordered this and it was so tender that he didn't need a knife to cut pieces off, they were just falling off the bone! It came with apple, turnips, and a salsa verde all on the plate mixed with the chicken, so another example of the flavors all working together in harmony. We tried two desserts that we shared: -Pudding Cup: This looked similar to the Italian dessert "budding" but it was a lot heavier. The layers of pudding were a rich chocolate and a heavy cream, with a large square marshmallow on top. Don't get me wrong - it tasted amazing, but you could only have a few bites due to the heaviness, so sharing it was the right decision. -"Corn": This was the "tasting menu" dessert, and it was five different variations of corn, but as a semi-sweet taste. It had a sweet corn almost "cheesecake" polenta base, with a corn ice cream swiped on top, and was accompanied by a sweet popcorn praline, hibiscus caramel dots, and little dollops of corn pudding. They took corn and made it a dessert, and I'm absolutely here for it. With the excellent service, high quality fare, and great vibes in the ambiance, I would definitely recommend Au Courant for your next special occasion, date night, or just to check out the new menus they have each week!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Getting the 7 course chefs choice for just $80 is so worth it and a fun experience. The interior is nice so doesnt make you feel out of place if you wanted to dress up

Dining here is always a special occasion. A Tapas event was a bit of a throwback to the former Spanish restaurant that was at their location. An all à la cart menu allowed for tasting multiple dishes, all meant to be shared. Wine selections that included Spanish vintages was an added plus. This special, running four days, was quickly sold out for every timeslot, which tells you how great the anticipation was for this event! Service as always was excellent, and the ambience was loud and fun!

This was our first time eating here. We made a reservation through Resy and were seated immediately. Although a majority of the reviews recommended to do the 6 course tasting menu, we ordered à la carte due to not having an idea of the plates mentioned on that menu. We have zero regrets. For the first course we each ordered the Chovy's egg. It was a creamy potato and leek soup with quail egg. My husband ordered two of those. So good! Second course we each ordered then Swordfish carpaccio. They came with home made crackers which were very heavy and filling. The carpaccio was fresh but very very thin. There were too many crackers for the portion of swordfish that was provided. I wouldn't order that again. Third course my husband ordered the pho courant. This was by far the best pho broth I've had in my life. Each spoon of broth was so full of flavor. I would go back tomorrow and order two servings of this. Great job !!! I ordered the eye of round carpaccio. Whatever it was topped with went so well with each bite. Fourth course we ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and ravioli pork cheek. The tagliatelle is something you would crave. However both pasta dishes were on the salty side. Finally 5th course we each ordered the beef duet which contained a short rib, and some piece of steak with pave potatoes. It was so rich and the way the potatoes were perfectly crunchy made the meat and potatoes complement each other perfectly. I highly recommend the Al la carte to order whatever you're craving. Any time in Omaha, this would be a place to eat! I also highly appreciate our server explaining each plate. The service was top notch. Thanks Kylie!!! Water was never empty and they were always on top of recommending the right wine based on what was ordered. I also loved that the staff worked together. :-) great team work in working together to provide an enjoyable experience.

If it were possible, I would give Au Courant 10,002 stars! This place is AMAZING--by far my favorite restaurant in Omaha! Tucked away on the main strip in Benson, I am always struck by how beautiful and intimate the space is when I walk in. I love how it is slightly hidden--it feels like you are walking into a secret garden-like experience. With a small hostess station to greet you, you are prepped for the wonderful dining experience that follows. There is a huge open bar in the middle of the room, with towers of candles adding to the rustic yet modern ambiance. The menu changes weekly, always tempting me to return to see what other dishes they curate depending on the season. They offer a tasting menu and an à la carte option, which I love! The last time we went, we started with their oysters--truly the best oysters I have ever had. This week's were fresh from the East Coast and offered the perfect balance of fresh ocean brininess, delicate sweetness, and a smooth, creamy texture. For my main, I got the duck, which was perfection! The skin was perfectly crispy and well-seasoned but still juicy when I cut into it. It was served on a bed of miso and white bean purée with bok choy and carrots. I can't think of a better combination! They also have a rotating cocktail menu, with drinks that are just as delicious and creative as their food. Each cocktail is named after a song, and if you're lucky enough to hear it playing while you're dining, you get half off that cocktail. I got a drink called Messy, a clean tequila-based cocktail with a hint of jalapeño, making it the perfectly balanced drink. Our waitress was very attentive--she always kept our cups filled and immediately removed dirty dishes. She also explained where the cooks sourced each ingredient, which was awesome, and she was engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. Au Courant--we LOVE you!

I usually always prefer appetizers and dessert to mains. This place is a complete opposite. Steak was the highlight. It was very delicious. The pasta was probably the second best. Chovy's eggs are very salty and the desserts, despite their exotic names, are not great. And the seats we had were facing the hallway to the kitchen and for some Reason I can smell bathroom the whole time.

One of the two best restaurants in Omaha, hands down. You will certainly be pleased. Make plans now to have a special night.

Has anyone had difficulty getting in touch with the restaurant? We have been trying for over a week to get in touch and buy a gift card, but no one has responded. Even tried emailing, leaving a couple vm's and submitting a request on their website.

They are on winter break through Jan 7th !
