Overall, this restaurant had a very elegant and sophisticated ambiance with very high ceilings. We went on a weeknight and were easily able to get a table for two without a reservation. They had keen service and friendly staff. I had the French onion soup, which was very delicious and comforting. I did feel like there a bit too much cheese on top, however. For the main dish, we had the spinach ricotta gnudi. I was expecting the gnudi to taste like gnocchi, but it actually was much softer and more dumpling-like. My boyfriend and I spent our Valentine's Day at Le Bouillon and as always, it exceeded our expectations. We started off with the steak tartare and frites and it was delicious. Our waitress, I'm kicking myself that I cannot remember her name, recommended the gnocchi and I am so happy I chose that dish. The flavors were unreal, the gnocchi was soft and pillowy, and the leek cream was decadent. I'm still dreaming about it. We had a wonderful first experience at Le Bouillon! The staff members were SO friendly. They sat us at a cute little table in the back where it was cozy and quiet. Dinner was at Le Bouillon French restaurant which was bright, inviting lively art, flowers and a spectacular wine room that you can pick a bottle if you prefer. The staff were friendly, smiles and great service. We started with oysters and Champagne which were delightful and we split the Duroc pork chop paired with an Italian wine. I actually picked that bone up and clean it well, I wasn't going to leave that goodness behind. We finished with tawny port They had a phone booth that was great for a photo shoot. There was a farmers market on Sunday in August 2025 and we decided to duck in here for the a/c cause it was 95 degrees outside. The a/c here was great when we were here. It was Sunday Brunch time at this restaurant and, even though it was super hot outside, we had French onion soup and a couple of their appetizers. I ordered the wagyu steak for $57. I asked for med rare. It was too dry to eat. It was light brown instead of dark red, like it's supposed to be. The restaurant was not busy and it seemed like the waitress forgot about us a few times. Nobody asked how our dinner was. I would have sent the steak back. The best thing about this restaurant was the art on the walls.additionally, it was our anniversary, which we started when we made reservations. They didn't mention our anniversary once, which restaurants will usually give an extra little treat on the house. Here we didn't even get an acknowledgment. It's been a while since we were last at Le Bouillon for the dinner service and I have been looking forward to dining there for brunch for a while, but had not made it back there till recently. Here is my brunch review: The brunch menu is small, but covers both sweet and savory. Cocktails are available in the form of bloody's, mimosa and and a couple of unique cocktails from Le B. If you so choose, the raw bar (oysters, tartare, and salmon) can fix a craving, or the charcuterie selections will impress a friend who loves cured meat. We did an order of the Kaiserschmarrn (Austrian pancake) which was light, fluffy and delicious-definitely the reason I would return. The berry topping and whipped butter mixed with a light but flavorful syrup gave these pancakes a great gift to the palate. The eggs in a basket was a miss for me-the texture of the bread was crumbly and dry, and I didn't like the flavor. The pommes frites were yummy as they came out hot and fresh and the over easy eggs were made correctly. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. It was a relaxing atmosphere to dine in at 1pm on a Sunday and the bill was reasonable at $30. I would come back for the pancakes, for sure! read more

Right as we walked in the offered to take our coats and led us to our table. They staff was very attentive, even offering me a purse hanger. They have an extensive wine list, so we began our meal with a bottle of riesling which was crisp and refreshing. We went there for valentines day and did the chef's menu. I am gluten free and they were very accommodating with altering the dishes slightly. I started with the smoked white fish on a delicious creamy dill spread. Then had the tuna for my main which was FANTASTIC and finished with a chocolate mouse- the perfect dinner. The ambiance is moody and I loved how the tables were spaced to feel like you had your own little private dining area. There is also so much fun art on the walls to look at. This meal was worth it! And dining in a cute, historic building always sets the vibe right away. We started with drinks, which I loved so much that I forgot about pictures. I had the punch, which was sweet but not so much so that it hurt my stomach. For appetizers, we got French onion soup, clams and the tomato tonato. The French option soup was a burst of flavor with the perfect amount of melted gruyere on top. Word on the street is they use veil broth which would explain the rich flavor! The clams were tossed with a broth, beans and kale. I'm not a huge fan of any of those ingredients alone, but together, they paired so well. The tomato dish was juicy and fresh, impressive at this time of year that they got that quality of produce. For entrees, my husband and I split the chicken and burger. We usually shy away from chicken because it can be boring, but this dish was far from it. It was so juicy and well cooked. It was paired with beautiful mushrooms and a crispy-ish potato dumpling that balanced the chicken nicely. The burger... wow. House made and high quality, it was easily of the best patties I've had in this city. The shoestring fries they served with it were also perfectly cooked and tasted good even without the aioli that came with it. We also got a bottle of wine with our meal. My partner and I have been doing this thing where we try French restaurants and the duck everywhere we go, and this week I realized we hadn't given Omaha a chance. I had heard of this spot from a colleague and decided to give it a try. Walking in, there was only 2 other diners but it was a Monday evening so I set my skepticism aside. My first glance at the menu left me a bit disappointed. The menu I had seen online had several items that intrigued me but what I was seeing in person was quite different. I was disappointed. I considered leaving but decided to give it a shot. Now I would compare this dining experience to a musical score. This particular composure started off with a steady build. The pre-dinner drinks - the rooibos old fashioned for me, and the chamo Collins (with gin) for the lady were pretty decent. Then the appetizers upped the excitement and the tempo. We got the tartare + frites. While this was good, the beef was a bit too chunky for me. At this point, we should be bursting with excitement for the crescendo that is the main course. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The duck frites fell flat. The skin did have a nice crisp to it though. The saving grace of the whole thing was desert. The basque cheesecake which was brûléed with what I assume was a custard brought us right back to a peak. Service, otherwise, was great! We love to share meals and they accommodated us very easily. My husband surprised me with a visit to Le Bouillon for my birthday, and it was pretty dang nice, if a little bit stuffy/quiet for the type of food/vibe I usually gravitate toward. The ambiance is arty with a large mosaic sculpture being the focal point of the space. It definitely feels upscale and airy, so it did fit for the romantic atmosphere my husband was wanting. Don't get me wrong on the food; everything was expertly cooked and plated beautifully. It just wasn't so much my style, but I did come to it with an open mind and enjoyed a lot of the items. We started with the Tartine and Lox. It came as a large cracker, with a creamy spread as the base and flowery little strips of lox with pickled veggies. It looked gorgeous and tasted very flavorful with the components all working together perfectly. For my entree, I chose the Hanger Steak with Root Vegetables and added a crab cake on top. I absolutely loved the steak and the crab cake, which were both seasoned to perfection and sitting in a heavenly tarragon cream sauce. But the root vegetables I could have done without. I usually like earthy flavored things, but these were a little too heavy on that, in addition to being the largest component of the dish. My husband got the Duck Breast, which came with a bed of carrots, beans, and duck fat. It was so tasty and each piece worked together on the plate so well. I definitely recommend this over the dish I got. We got two desserts, and both were decadently divine: -Olive Oil Cake: This was on special when we were there and our waitress said it was definitely not as sweet as other desserts, but if you like more "muted" sweetness, like cornbread, you might like it. She was absolutely correct - it was almost exactly like corn bread, but without a corn flavor. More just a buttery bread flavor, but topped with a delicious blueberry compote and homemade whipped cream. -Chocolate Tart: Our second dessert was definitely more desserty - a big hunk of chocolate mousse with cherries and cherry drizzle on top. You can't go wrong with anything chocolate and cherry, and this was the perfect example of that. Not too much sweetness in the chocolate mousse, so the extra sweet cherry components could really sing. Overall, I think Le Bouillon has a lot of great things to choose from, but you definitely have to be in the right mood to dine there! read more

Hard no. My other half and I went to Le Bouillon for dinner last night. It was my birthday and I'd been dying to dine at Le Bouillon -- the photos were swoon-worthy, to say nothing of the wine selection. Prior to walking in the door I had even made the mistake of thinking this could be the perfect venue for an intimate post elopement wedding reception in Omaha. Trust me, I've been disabused of that notion. To be fair, all was well until I made an unforced error and ordered steak frites. I've dined at French restaurants on both coasts. What on earth was I thinking? Despite ordering my steak medium as opposed to medium rare (again, had I suffered a brain injury en route to dinner?) what arrived on my plate were two slabs of raw beef. I then doubled down on my unforced error and sent it back. (In retrospect, I must have been having some sort of cognitive episode.) What was returned to me in response was not food but instead two charcoal briquettes. My cheeks actually stung with embarrassment. I was being graced with the "stupid American" treatment -- aka, if you're not sophisticated enough for raw meat, let us serve you the charred remnants of what was once food instead. Happy birthday to me. Had it not been for a silly attempt to salvage the evening, I would have (should have) left cash on the table and walked out. The service took a notable turn in other ways as well --after my obviously foolish and uncultured self sent my steak back. It was in fact so obnoxious that I had to double check that my Magen David had not slipped from under my collar. Fear not on that front -- I'd remembered to take it off before leaving the house. "Was this temperature more to my liking?" No, you sanctimonious frog, it was not. Never again. There are too many excellent places to dine in Omaha to be treated like a member of the unwashed masses. In retrospect, perhaps that's why two thirds of the tables were empty on a Saturday evening. Lesson learned. read more

We also shared the cordon Bleu chicken wings were very tasty and perfectly cooked. We were disappointed with the entrées. The steak had good flavor, but was tough and chewy. The lamb schnitzel was also tough and lacked seasonings. The chocolate torte dessert was quite decadent and delicious. The boeuf bourguignon was a favorite, and for good reason... The beef was absolutely fall-apart tender with great flavor. The veg was all well-seasoned and fresh. A tasty rendition. The fillet Wellington was also quite nice. Perfectly cooked. The filet is definitely the star of the plate. I understand not having an entire bowl of broccoli on the side, but the three tiny sprigs on the plate looked a little out of proportion. It was cooked perfectly, I wanted more! The potatoes were a little on the dry side, not creamy. I was a little disappointed by the meat and cheese board. The bread wasn't my favorite; I thought it was kind of bland, and the bottom was actually quite burnt, so I'm surprised they served it. The board looked a little haphazard and was a somewhat different from what the server said was going to be featured. I loved the interior and ambience, the greenery and twinkle lights for the holiday season. They've got a neat space. Our service was just OK. I got the Plum Creek Farm Chicken which was the best chicken I've ever had hands down. It was massive so I didn't even get through half of it but it was delicious. I was not a huge fan of the veggies. I can't really describe the taste, I would say maybe a little vinegary which wasn't my favorite. My boyfriend got the Lamb Schnitzel and really liked it. Decided to come in last minute on a Friday around 3pm, it happened to be during happy hour and we got to pick our own seat and enjoyed a corner near a heater. There were only a handful of people there. They claim to have happy hour but everything we ordered was full price, so I think they have a small selection of what's priced down or that you get a deal on. Champagne was wonderful. Oysters were not, he kept biting into part of the shell and sand. The fries were delicious, crispy, thin and covered in olive oil + Parmesan but the tartare was tasteless. And finally, caviar...it was our first time ever having and we just weren't big fans. The service was fantastic and the food was good. For the price I just didn't feel like the meals matched our expectations. The basil oil was a wonderful touch and swirled in beautifully. $11 - Infantado tawny port: A dessert wine thats a more affordable version to the Graham's tawny port one.
