Fantastic! Solid community coffee house vibes. I love the community happenings wall. Ample comfy seating, plenty of space, and even a dedicated quiet area for studying! The desserts are SO good, and the coffee and tea varieties are awesome. Good selection of herbal teas and drinks if you're avoiding caffeine--I got an iced hibiscus and chamomile tea blend that was superlative. Super friendly staff. Sozo is an Omaha essential, especially if you're a student or work remotely. It is the perfect environment to bring friends and go for a long haul study sesh, or even just to hang out! The coffee shop itself is very big, and the seating is great and varied, whether you prefer a table or a cozy corner. It is dimly lit, which is ideal for those who study in the evening like me. It is also open later than most coffee places in Omaha, which is a huge plus. I have also been to late night events, such as a free midnight pancakes event they hosted around October. It was such a great experience, and the staff has always been very kind and welcoming. There is a huge menu, and the variety is nice because you can go back for another drink later on as you study. Such a large inviting space and I love that they have so many private rooms that can easily be reserved online for a very affordable price. This is a really solid convenience. Absolutely love this place, it's a wonderful hidden gem. It's tucked downstairs in the old market, but the coffee has got to be some of the best in Omaha. Absolutely love the atmosphere of the place. Whether it's to play Yu-Gi-Oh, game, study, or just a place to chill, it's perfect. Service is amazing as well. Went to Sozo Coffeehouse after a walk in the Old Market. I was really impressed by this coffee shop, it is underground and very spacious. Their coffee was delicious, I got a Dirty Chai Latte. They have spacious and cozy study rooms that you can rent for a small fee. They also have comfy couches and chairs where you can sit to socialize, study or work. Sozo Coffeehouse has to be my favorite place in downtown Omaha to get a coffee and study. This is a one of a kind coffee shop to me where there are pool tables, study rooms, a stage, lots of places to sit, SO many syrup flavors to choose from, and lots of events. There is also lots of art displayed which you can purchase which I love! My favorite spot to sit is on one of their comfy couches. They also have a conference room as well as other options of renting space inside! I love the lights on the ceiling in the main seating area. There is free wifi to use for studying, working, or whatever else you may need wifi for (network name and password are included in my photos). I have seen that they have open mic nights, salsa nights, movie showings, and more events! The service has always been great even when super busy. I wish that they had their events on their website as well information about how amazing this place is on their website ( the get involved tab has a default description not relevant to their business). This place is pretty cool downstairs coffee shop. The americano is very good. The wifi, not so much. I was trying to do some work on my laptop but the wifi connection was very slow. Great garden level (you go downstairs to the basement of a building) coffee shop! The atmosphere is welcoming and the baristas are friendly (not something I'm used to coming from MN lol). The coffee was incredibly affordable and tasted great, I went simple with an iced breve with maple and it did not disappoint. It had a dark roast coffee forward flavor which I really appreciated! The menu is a bit hard to read, but has lots of great options. The hot chocolate was rather meh, typical of a place that specializes in coffee. There were people there studying, playing board games, and playing pool, yet there would've been plenty of room for us to sit and stay awhile too, this place is huge. This is a really cool spot in downtown Omaha. It's in a basement/garden level spot, but it works for them. It is HUGE, has tons of seating, and has a really cool vibe with the brick walls and string lights. Each staff member we interacted with was also SUPER nice. I'm pretty picky with my coffee, but both my mom and I agreed it was very good. I also thought their prices were great for being downtown. But, I had to wait for my order to be taken for about 10 minutes and I was the only person in line, and when I finally got my order in, the barista was unkind to me. When I got my drink it was pretty good but I later became sick and the only explanation for my sudden sickness was my drink. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. I've been trying to find local coffee shops, saw a sign for this one and pulled over. I should have taken some pictures of the inside, it was pretty dang cool. Felt like a cool hip kid in there haha. Service was outstanding! I'm a cold brew black kinda guy, today they were out, it was late morning, so I tried an iced americano. It got the job done. I recommend this place with a big asterisk. The staff was polite. The pseudo underground location is fun to visit. My flavored latte was both sweet and bitter- delicious. There's a large menu of drinks, a few table games, and board games. The caveat is that this plays leans HARD into the "youth group trying too hard" crowd. The average age was probably 24 and at least half were clearly there for some kind of Bible study or youth group. There is even a stage for worship on Sundays (that I guess is not taken down between services?). This may not be a deal breaker but as someone there just for coffee and in my early 30s, I felt a bit out of place and is worth considering. read more

Great study spot! I came here late morning on a Monday and it was pretty quiet. It was my first time here and I didn't know much but the barista was super nice with recommending me what to get. Of all the coffee shops I've stepped foot in, this has the best atmosphere I've seen. They have an area dedicated for Church, a game room with pool, foosball and board games and multiple rooms if you want a quiet place to study. For the drinks, I had a hot cherry amaretto white mocha latte. This reminded me of a box of chocolate covered cherries. I typically don't stray too far from my black coffee but this one had a great flavor combination that I would have again. My kids had hot chocolate's and really enjoyed them. The lone disappointment was my wife's hot apple cider. She ranked it just above a hot cup of water. read more

Definitely the biggest coffee shop in Omaha. They have bigger tables than most coffee shops around here. Which I appreciate, so I can spread out all my school work. The baristas are very nice. I ordered plain cappuccino, it was good. It had a stronger espresso taste than others. Tasted a little burnt, but it wasn't bad. They have cheap-average prices for their coffee. My cappuccino was only $3, although it was small (as an authentic cappuccino should be). They have study rooms that you can rent out which are super nice! It is a bit cold downstairs so maybe wear a sweatshirt or something. They do a great job following the CDC guidelines with their tables spread out, a system for their tables, and cleaning between each person. Their hours are amazing! read more

It's huge, but still feels very cozy, probably having to navigate the stairs to the subterranean entrance helps to give it a mystique. pool tables, foosball, a stage for events, a bookcase full of games, art for sale and appreciation and lots of little nooks and tables to hang out in. Sozo is a cool underground coffee shop that has TONS of flavored syrups for coffee. They also have pool tables and plenty of seating. I have never gotten the food there, but they have really knowledgeable baristas and anything they've recommended has always been great. Super allergy friendly as well! Like it's reputation, it really is the largest coffee shop in Omaha (its huge). As you walk in, you are greeted by one the baristas saying "Welcome to Sozos" and a ton of open space and furniture to sit on. The baristas are very friendly and helpful, answering any questions you might have or sharing what their favorite things are on the menu. I've tried their blended drinks but they are way too sweet for me. Instead, I normally get the traditional caramel macchiato or an americano. One of my favorite things about Sozos are the rentable, private study rooms they have in the back. You can rent one of 6 rooms for $2 an hour. Although it is a bit expensive if you think about having to pay for a study room, with a couple of friends, it's worth it in my opinion. If you want to reserve them in advance, you can do it online as well. If you aren't in the mood for studying, there are two pool tables (rentable by the hour or half), a foosball table, and some board games as well. read more

My son, husband, & I needed to burn few hours before dinner while visiting Omaha & found this perfect little gem. My son & I tried different teas & my husband had 2 different coffees. They had many teas & coffees with all sorts of add in flavors. I had the peach paradise black tea with honey added. It was excellent!
