Foamy first pour
Justin I.

Came here for the beer. Not a coffee person. It was day two of the taproom being opened so I'll give a lot of grace to the newness of providing craft beer. Also, it should be said that we visited at 2pm on a Friday, not prime beer serving hours. We showed up and asked for a flight but I was told they don't do those. Definitely a suggestion for the future. I wanted to try 4-5 beers from the tap takeover but settled for a pint instead. They had small sample cups so I asked for a taste of a beer. The sweet woman, who had probably been making coffee all day up until then poured me a sample of foam. I almost left but thought I'd stick around to see how the pint does. I got a pint of foam. I politely told the barista/bartender I'd like a pint with minimal foam and she got someone else to pour it. I think it was also a new keg with a lot of foam at the beginning. I got a much better pour the second time around and the gentleman was even kind enough to give us the foamy pour on the house. The woman charged us for one beer without offering to start a tab. Just as well since it was 2pm on a Friday. Oh and the beer from Hastings was very delicious. We will definitely be back. We understand they're learning and getting used to a new product. I do want to share that the coffee smell when drinking beer is a little different but not a deal breaker. Hopefully the next time I return I can enjoy a flight and have a bartender that knows how to pour a beer. See you guys next time!

The sauce put on the side for the lechon bowl is so delicious, little citrusy, spicy and just so yummy. The ube banana turons are the perfect little treat right after the savory bowl.

Boba ballz were BIG and chewy but with a great blueberry flavor. Cause ya know, General has some kick so you can imagine the milk was refreshing yet.. helpful! Ordered their Pancit Lumpia Combo, which includes two lumpia. I would've preferred a little more filling as it felt they were mostly spring roll wrappers (which honestly, I don't mind but would've liked to taste their pork!). Plenty of dark meat in the pancit! Their Crab Rangoons were very airy and surprisingly worked really well with the other light textures; pancit noodle, wrapper etc. Excellent filling ratio, not overly filled, not under; just right. Their dipping sauce has a kick but it's a nice heat! Decent amount of them too to share between folks. Didn't see too much of the bar aspect advertised, but there's a coffee station with syrups and such. Rooms for taps, too!

The ambience was very casual and the TVs were playing sports. I can't remember our server's name but he did good, and made sure to keep our drinks topped off. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and a side of waffle fries which were 10/10! The Chicken Caesar Wrap and sweet potato fries my partner ordered were also delicious. We will definitely be back.

Last minute thought was the cheese bread. I had two margaritas and didn't get a buzz. He had a Long Island tea and then an old fashioned. Again, not even a buzz. The calzone was not lacking in Alfredo and mozzarella. The crust was fantastic but I would have liked more garlic. Hubs said the same for his pizza crust. He really liked the marinara that came with the cheese bread. It was not really cheese bread but cheese pizza. With tip it was roughly $111. We would go without the cheese bread and drinks next time. But I am eager to try more menu items Becca, our server was the best. Very accommodating and told us all about their daily specials. I would consider this more of a restaurant with a bar than a bar and grill.
