The line was out the door. That tells you something. The vibes were definitely of urban-eco-societal justice-coffee culture, which is quite acceptable in my book. The coffee is excellent too. I added a blueberry scone and banana/chocolate muffin (brought in from a local bakery), which were both quite good. The back area is a cool local bookstore, which I unfortunately did not have time to peruse. There is also a nice outdoor seating area along with very adequate amounts of inside seating. That area of Omaha is blessed with some good Java shops with good vibes. Perfect for a thriving midtown area. I love this shop, the location is amazing and the parking is free outside. They also have a designated parking lot next to the shop! The service is quick and efficient and the coffee was wonderful. I got a caramel latte with oat milk and my partner got an Arnold Palmer. It's my favorite type of espresso balance, smooth and sweet and has a beautiful flavor. As other yelpers say, it is a little dark and dingy inside. I say it is a bit hippie-esque. The space reminds me of a locally owned coffee cafe in a neighborhood in NYC or Boston. The space extends pretty far back, and is not a wide space. But, this is quite possibly the best iced coffee I've had in Omaha so far. There is a limited food menu, including soup, bagels, and sammies. There seems to be plenty of free street parking along the main road Underwood. I can see myself getting another cup of iced coffee and then walking up and down the Dundee Underwood area window shopping and seeing what the area has to offer. read more

So I came here bc someone had a coffee & it smelled amazing, when I asked they said they got it here so I came here. I got a coffee they had on drip- the Nicaragua. It was really good! I will def be back for the coffee! Also, their apple cider donuts were pretty good, more of a muffin than a donut but tasted really good. The ambiance can use some TLC haha it was dirty, the bathrooms are there but disgusting. They do have tables and chairs and lights at the tables bc it is otherwise poorly lit. They do have a printer & can print in color (obvi u have to pay for prints). They also have games that are available for play in the shop. Outdoor seating also available. Prices | options | vibe Prices - the most striking thing about this places is how affordable their prices are. For speciality coffees, teas, and ciders nothing is above $4.25 for a large (20-24 oz). I had the hot cider and a large 24 oz was 3.45 with tax. AMAZING. Such a great value. Options - they have all the traditional gourmet coffee shop options. Lattes, mochas, hot chocolate, hot cider, cold brew, etc. so they compete with all the speciality coffee shops in the area. Vibe - the shop has an interesting political vibe. There are tons of política signs for candidates from both sides of the aisle as well as cork board ads for dialogue between police and members of the community, people from both sides of the politics spectrum, items that promote police as well as items that support Black Lives Matter. I wonder why they have so many ads. Pro tip: there isn't a lot of parking but I've been two times and both times between their private parking and Public street parking there has always been enough. Pro tip: there is not a lot of places to sit. So be prepared to grab and go. It is not the type of coffee shop where you can spend 3-4 hours doing work. When you step into this dank (disagreeably damp, musty, and typically cold) coffeeshop you are met by a snide barista who gauges whether or not you are part of the inner clique. Even if you do pass that test, the coffee will be preciously overpriced and typically lukewarm to tepid. Looking for the Central Perk Coffee Shop in Omaha? Here it is. This place just feels like the old 'Friends' sitcom staple shop. Very homey, comfortable, and relaxed...not overly clean, or hip, but just what you're looking for to read a good book or dive into some homework. Not sure if the baked goods are brought in or made in-shop, but my chocolate muffin was moist and delicious, while my coffee was incredibly fresh tasting (hint: a medium is like a large). Only drawback for some might be that this place isn't necessarily your "craft" coffee shop that have popped up in Omaha. This place is more traditional, homey, and comfortable...this means it probably won't have your cold nitro brew. I want to preface by saying the prices of this cafe are super affordable compared to the $6-8 latte many of us have become accustomed to, but don't expect anything fancy given that information. I got a plain Cortado and the espresso's flavor was a bit lack luster, but given the price it is very much what I would expect. Next time I'll try a flavored latte or something similar! Ive never had bad experience at Blue Line, and it is by far the MOST AFFORDABLE coffee in town! I'll start off with their one downside and then ill tell you guys about all the pros to blue line coffee. The single downside is that there is very limited seating, even before COVID. Now, with the pandemic they are limiting seating so you will be lucky to find a place to sit. I appreciate them social distancing their seats and making their customers feel safe. Alright on to the good stuff. Blue line is in a great location. My roommate and I went on a walk around memorial park and stopped into blue line for a little pick me up. I always get their cappuccino because the faulty of their coffee beans are so good. The other day I switched it up and got an iced caramel latte and it was great- way better than Starbucks!! It is the perfect amount of caramel and cream so it is not watered down. They also sell coffee beans by the bag if you'd prefer to buy a slightly cheaper from Blue line than the grocery store or other local coffee shops. keep it up Blueline!! read more

A very cute local coffee shop. Coffee was very good and they had a nice small selection of bagels and pastries. Those that waited on us were very friendly and made nice decorations in the foam on our coffees. My only complaint was they did allow dogs into the shop so every time a new one entered there was a round of barking that was pretty annoying. Even though it's closer to my house, I prefer the Blue Line downtown. They have all the same great stuff here, don't get me wrong. And the selection of beans is greater but, since it's an old building and old tenant space it has a tendency to be kind of 'ripe smelling' inside due to all the humidity generated. I realize I'm more sensitive to this than some, but if I'm hanging out at this Blue Line I always prefer to do so outside, and probably will until some sort of hvac upgrade takes place. But sitting outside comes with another bonus because you have a much better vantage point for people watching out there. read more

I'll still give Blue Line four stars, as it's such a staple of the neighborhood. However, I think there is a lot more local coffee shop competition these days and the age of Blue Line is starting to show. I still enjoy their house-roasted coffee. It's cheaper than the other local roasters (around $10-$11 per pound). Sitting outside and enjoying any above-freezing weather is always a great time as well. You can sit, sip, chat with your buddies or other patrons or simply people-watch and soak in the charm that is Dundee. The interior, however, is a bit shabby. Before Blue Line was Blue Line, this bay was a Baskin-Robbins. I remember coming here for ice cream many times as a kid. The layout is still pretty much exactly the same as the old days, complete with dirty tile floors and styrofoam ceiling panels. I'm not saying this place isn't great anymore -- it is. I like both Blue Line coffee shops in Omaha, but this location is probably my second favorite. It's bigger than the one on 14th St. and I think has a larger selection of food. This is more of a "come and hang out with friends" as opposed to they typical quiet coffee shop atmosphere at other coffee shops. Blue Line has proven to be a solid spot for us when out of beans or just out and about seeking a booster for that kid sleep resistant thing... They do an in house blend vs. a straight arabica espresso. They have organic and fair trade options. We have only been disappointed a few times (burned coffee and scorched milk) which we attributed to the training of new baristas. I appreciate the organic non-dairy choice and would love if they had organic dairy and more organic non-dairy options (oatly, almond, pistachio etc..). The banana chocolate chip muffins are loved by our Little's and now you can grab a bar of chocolate too. We have never sampled their other offerings. The interior has a basic neighborhood feel for daily locals' use and at one time was heavy in the pachouli department. Staff is midline but get the job done. It was thanks to Yelp! that I found Blue Line, in the first place. So first- to the other reviewers, thanks! It was the fifth morning into a business adventure across the country when we got the phone call. My college/boyfriend and I had just spent the night at a Motel 6 right off the highway, and were a little road-tired and worse for wear that morning (ie: hung over). Anyways, we got a panicked phone call from our main office, something about none of the computers/phones/etc working, and the only way to fix it meant we had to find WiFi ASAP! I got on my trusty DROID, loaded my Yelp! app, and ran a search nearby from coffee spots, open now, with WiFi. The most highly, and not-so-far place was Blue Line, so we set the GPS in gear. Dear Blue Line, not only was your coffee of amazing quality, your fresh-lemonade exactly what the hang-over-doctor ordered, and your little breakfast sandwiches tasty as ever, but- you were also a very cool place that I would go to on the regular. I got to read The Omaha local newspaper, as well as my ever-favorite The Onion, and we got all of our business issues taken care of. It was extremely pleasant, and I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, any day of the week. Also- very cool location. Had we had more time, we would have further investigated. read more
