Hardy Coffee Co. is such a gem in Omaha. I popped in for some much-needed fuel during a day of holiday shopping, and it ended up being the perfect stop. I ordered a loaded breakfast burrito, a cinnamon roll, and their holiday s'mores au lait, and every single item was a hit. The burrito was hearty, flavorful, and super satisfying -- a great balance of ingredients and clearly made with care. The cinnamon roll was soft, fluffy, and generously iced (definitely hard to share). And the s'mores au lait was absolute holiday perfection -- cozy, not overly sweet, and full of that nostalgic toasted marshmallow and chocolate flavor. The space itself is bright, welcoming, and has such a great neighborhood coffee shop vibe. The staff were friendly and efficient, even with a steady flow of customers, and it felt like a place you could easily settle into or recharge before heading back out. Another great Hardy location. There is no drive thru but they do have a walk up window. There is a decent amount of street parking right out front thats free. They have a great amount of seating and a huge menu of drinks. They have the best bakery goods, including some gluten free items. I love their gluten free muffins. I've been here several times, both by myself and with friends. It's a good space to come with a small group or one on one with someone, or even solo! The outdoor patio space is really well kept up and there's plenty of tables to hang out. Indoor, there's lots of table options, 2 people, groups, couches, etc. The ordering process is simple, the menu is on the wall and large enough to see everything offered to make a decision while waiting to order. I like that they offer $1 off day old scones but it was pretty dry so I probably did that one to myself. This is a long-anticipated review that has been long overdue! One thing is for certain you cannot pass up on their cold brew! You will not be disappointed! As a yearlong cold brew drinker Hardy Coffee Co is my go-to coffee spot. We don't live too long from this location, and it is dangerously too good to pass up on. We often walk up to the Benson location...I know how European of us...in the morning to get our day started off with a cup of Joe & the loaded breakfast burritos. We really like this location for its chill vibe, and we do appreciate how involved they are with the local community; you can always see flyers posted on the outside window and inside of upcoming events that you would otherwise not see on social media. I have been a yearlong cold brew drinker for the past 5 years and among the cold brews I've had this is my favorite. Hardy Coffee will experiment during the warm months with an infused cold brew, which is great to mix it up, but I stay in my lane and tend to go with what I know, and it never disappoints. Also, I appreciate that Hardy Coffee does concentrated growlers for when I need Cold Brew on-the-go. I have gotten their glass growlers numerous times for cabin or camping weekends or Market-to-Market relay. The Loaded Breakfast Burritos are handmade along with their salsa. The burrito is made of eggs, chorizo, potatoes, onion, peppers, garlic, green chilis, cheese, refried beans, scallions, and seasoning wrapped in a flour tortilla. The homemade salsa is a great topping along with the sour cream. Hardy Coffee Co. does offer a membership program that runs for a year from when you sign up. It includes 13 free drinks: one for each month & a birthday month, along with unlimited coffee refills for each cafe visit. You also get 15% off each purchase in-store or online. And there are members only tastings through-out the year for a small fee, in which you can taste test new & upcoming drinks before they are released to the public for the season. I love all of the locations that Hardy had to offer in the Omaha area. I've been really enjoying the benson location due to all of the natural light within. It brings me so much joy seeing the street and shops within as cars go by. There is also a decent amount of seating here. Went in for the iced brewed blackberry earl grey tea combo which looked delicious. But they had no clue what that was or how to make it. Darn - so I ordered a tea iced which they said would be 9 mins to steep. Ok so I got a coffee and scone while I waited. Let me say I A avid tea drinker so waiting was no issue at all. I had been to the Hardy Coffee in the Old Market, so I was excited to try this location as it's a little bit closer to me. The drinks, ambiance, and service are right on par with the downtown location (meaning, excellent!) The inside has the similar design and color scheme, with concrete floors, lots of wood features, and gorgeous touches in their brand colors of black, white, and yellow. I was grabbing coffee for both my Mom and myself, so stuck with some standards. A caramel latte for her, and a seasonal drink for me - the cinnamon roll iced latte. I'd had the cinnamon roll latte before at the Old Market spot and loved it - and this Hardy location also made it perfectly and deliciously! And my Mom was very happy with her caramel latte, which I was over the moon about (she never gets herself fancy coffee). Their flavored lattes are more coffee-forward than the chain locations around town, but no complaints from me. I like to taste my coffee too, even if it has a little sweet flavor in it! I always adore a local coffeeshop, and Hardy Coffee Co. most definitely is no exception. Their espresso is smooth and mellow, with a noticeably more robust flavor than a Starbucks or Scooters shot. I personally ordered a Honey Lavender Latte, one of their spring specials, and I hope they continue to carry these syrups because it was absolutely perfect! As a lavender enthusiast, I have tried a few lavender lattes and found that typically the floral aspect is too overwhelming and artificial. Hardy's perfected the blend as you can taste the lavender, but it does not overtake the espresso flavor and the honey is able to be a supporting character that satisfies the latte sweet tooth. Notably, I do not like an overly sweet latte, and Honey Lavender was the perfect level of sweetness for me! The baristas were very pleasant, offering to fill my water bottle that I carry with me and asking me how my day was going! The aura of the coffeeshop is very laid back and rustic, and they have a stage! In the past, I have attended a comedy event here and it's a small space, but one that feels full of local joy and support for the Omaha community when packed to the brim. This coffee shop experience was a first time, of many. First time dining in for locally owned coffee in Omaha. First time in the Benson district. First time tasting an espresso drink in a locally owned shop in Omaha. And, first time going to a Hardy's! 5 stars all around. My small group and I needed a quiet place to sit down and chat. One of our members recommended Hardy's in the Benson district so we all agreed prior to the coffee appointment. Man, it did not disappoint! As we arrived, I ordered a cappuccino (medium sz) & chocolate chip cookie. Delicious, clean, and the default 2 shots of espresso was on point. Cookie was cleanly wrapped which enhanced portability as our group moved from one table to another. First, we sat outdoors in their "back patio". It was very cute and homey. Due to the mid-summer bumblebees, which were no problem, harassed my ears so I could not focus on listening to my group. Eventually, we decided to move inside to continue our chat. The interior was relaxed and quiet as other customers were doing computer work or reading. I much appreciate the relaxed atmosphere. Overall the shop was clean, service was quick, and vibe was relaxed making it a great place to dine in. The district (and including the shop) has a very hipster vibe. Recently visited the Benson location for the first time and I was impressed! It felt a little weird being in Benson in daylight since it is usually a night time destination for me, but this meant parking was easy to come by! Very cool space with lots of seating and even a spot for live entertainment. The staff was very sweet and helpful with us navigating the menu. I brought my friend who has celiac because I had heard they had some gluten free baked treats, and sure enough, several options! Live Music | Space | Root Beer Chai Live Music - I went for one of the Benson First Fridays. They had live music from 8 - 9:30 PM from local artists. It was a cool vibe with about 20-30 people in the audience and three different acts which played a range of music. Highly recommend. Space - The restaurant has a lot of room for a coffee shop. They have a good range of grab-and-go spaces and workspaces. Therefore, you can stop by and grab a drink just as easily as you can post up and get some work done. Root Beer Chai - I had the root beer chai iced tea. It was pretty amazing. Normally I'm hesitant to have "flavored" teas, especially flavored teas with chai. However, they did an amazing job. The drink was tasty and resembled the "as advertised" flavors. If you like root beer or root beer floats - this is the drink for you! Pro Tip: There is not a lot of parking. So add 5-10 minutes to drive around the block a few times to find a spot. Pro Tip: Ask the attendants what they like and don't like. They will not steer you wrong. I believe in its power to change outcomes, its inherent benevolence, its promise and its purpose. I've enjoyed single source hand-ground drips in ridiculous San Francisco coffee boutiques, fresh roasted Kona coffee served on the beach, Vietnamese coffee that was so strong I thought I might be ha I f a heart attack, day-old truck stop mud you can eat with a fork, and everything in between. All that as prologue to a simple truth, worth repeating: I know coffee, and I tell its story. So when my wife and I wandered into Hardy's during our summer road trip, two days into a four night stop in Omaha to visit family, that unmistakable flavor in the air heralded something great was about to happen. I regarded the menu with dozens of choices and combinations, options for milks and sweeteners, flavors and favors. And I ordered a large black coffee. Straight up. I have no idea of that coffee's origin, it's blend, it's roast, its grind. I don't know if the beans were hand picked by monks, or if the coffee plants were grown in volcanic tuff soil, or if they shaded their plants with banana trees or dragonfruit vines. But when it's midday and you're on vacation, a good cup of coffee is just a good cup of coffee. Full-bodied, hot, smooth with just the right amount of bitter without bitter being a thing. All that stuff. Nice kid behind the counter, too. Bonus style points there. There is an expression in Zen Buddhism: " before Enlightenment; chopping wood, carrying water. After Enlightenment; chopping wood, carrying water." Sometimes a good cup of coffee it's just a good cup of coffee. Trust the process. And check this place out. First time here and all was good. Nice location and nice size of a coffee shop. I got an ice led chai latte and a pecan roll. I felt like the price of the pecan roll was on point... it was very good. I have had better chai lattes but it was still ok. They could have more seating in there but maybe we are still in pre covid days. It was comfortable though. They're always super friendly. They also have Print With Me printers in their shops which is a total community service. It has come in handy multiple times. They have changing tables in the bathrooms in all of their locations which once you need them you quickly start to favor places with them. I've switched loyalties from downtown to Benson, now that I work just a half mile away. I love this place. Before Covid-19 I always went inside to place my order; I had no idea there was a walk-up window. I've found it now, and love being able to order from outside. The baristas manage the orders with grace, and the quality has not suffered one bit in 2020. I strongly suggest purchasing the annual membership keychain if you find yourself dropping in at least once a month; you receive one specialty beverage a month and 15% everything else including the next year's membership so it's a great deal and it gets Hardy some cash up front to start their year. A cute coffee shop in downtown Benson with plenty of seating and an incredible event space! The staff was very kind and the service was very prompt, despite there only being one barista. My cappuccino was very well made and tasty. I tried the everything bagel scone, and while it wasn't for me, it was good despite my not loving the flavors. There is plenty of space in this coffee shop if you wanted to come work or study and they have a great event space where they seem to host a multitude of events (based off posters on the wall).
