Archetype is one of the best coffeehouses in Omaha. The only downside for a lot of people is the limited flavors they have for coffees. Their espresso is smooth and perfect, they have alternative milks and they have some of the best baked goods and frittatas ever!! They have parking in the back and next to the building, no need to pay to park which is nice! The people who work there are knowledgeable and kind, the service is always fast and friendly! The shop is not huge but it's not small either, they have plenty of places to sit and it's got amazing windows and spaces to work! read more

Honestly I think this may be way overhyped. Or we came in at a bad time. The space was big but lacking any personality. The baristas were not very personable. And most importantly I thought the coffee left more to be desired. It did have a very interesting taste but didn't wow me in any way.. I think there are better places in Omaha read more

Visited this coffee shop for a book club meeting. They had plenty of open seats available on Saturday afternoon which was great. I tried the Linus and Lucy latte with gingerbread and chai. Although I liked the spices, I found it to be too sweet. They were able to accommodate dairy allergy which was great. I did not explore their food menu too much. Overall decor is pretty minimalist but a large space with plenty of space to do work read more

Saturday mornings are busy! But it didn't take long to get our drinks or food. They serve lots of options for breakfast... a side of two eggs, egg sandwiches, modern toast with toppings, lots of bagels and pastries too! Sorry no pics today! Trust me all is great! My favorite is a toasted rosemary and salt bagel and two sunny side up eggs in the side. The only thing I ever get here is the chai latte and let me say that is probably the best thing there! To be fair, I don't drink a lot of coffee anymore but that's neither here nor there. I love their coffee ice cream. Wait, they don't have ice cream but their neighbor Coneflower does. So I tried the Archetype ice cream at coneflower and from then on I knew I needed to try the coffee from this place. Ok the hubby and I just happened to walk by and it was open. For the last year I have been trying to get in but it's always closed, hence the minus star. So, I didn't try the coffee because I was in a hot chocolate mood. On another note I have been trying hot chocolate all over the city and have a couple in my top three favorites. A review for another day. Anyways, Hubby got coffee. Can't remember what it was delicious and I got hot chocolate. Let's just say there is a tour for the number one spot. It's so creamy and delicious. I love love love it. Ambiance was fine, no complaints as it was an easy in and out and the folks were kind. Service was quick and easy but we did not like the coffee at all. Most of us threw ours away. Not sure why but this macchiato looked like a pup cup that was barely full. The nitro was bitter and their house sweetener did not add anything to it. The chocolate latte had a weird aftertaste and I am shocked that they only had vanilla and chocolate flavors. Not sure what all of the hype is about related to this coffee shop as I have definitely had way better! read more

This place doesn't have that many drink options. Sandwich was dry and crumbly. The sauce that came with it was weird. They also got my friend's drink wrong after saying it several times. If you like plain Jane coffee then this is the place for you. read more

I was in town visiting my mom and wanted to check out one of Archetype's locations after seeing them on Yelp. This location is a great spot to grab coffee drinks! It's pretty small, but has ample seating. It's also easy to grab and go. We sat at the small table outside. I loved the vibe and the greenery. And I loved my drink! The pricing is average, and the service was great! We will definitely be back when I'm in town, and I would recommend checking it out! read more

I tried their Chai Latte and it was pretty good but nothing too special. I can tell it's something they're not really known for so thats my bad for not ordering a latte hehe. I'm just a fan of visiting local coffee shops with hip, trendy vibes and this place delivers that with great service, great coffee and great pastries. This coffee shop is located in the Blackstone district, so parking can be hit or miss, but there is a small lot on the back and street parking as well. Every time I've come here, they've been great and super friendly. They have all your typical coffee shop drinks, and they're made great. My favorite baked good is probably the banana bread. Expensive drink which I'm willing to pay for if I sit there for a while. I went in to do some work and got the WiFi connected, but it didn't work unfortunately. Looked forward to returning to Archetype after moving closer to it and it had definitely lost some of its warmth and charm. The space was more sterile and cold than we remembered. I would describe the seats and table options as exposed and ridged. The shop looks like it's not doing as well...slightly messy with sparse everything, but hopefully this is just the vibe it gave off. The latte in store was delicious though slightly tepid. The handleless cup was a nice aesthetic however, it was one of the smallest questionably 12 oz cups encountered, it felt like 10 oz at best. Bought a 10oz bag of whole bean coffee (home for the holidays) for $20 and it was sour on our first brew. We are avid coffee drinkers with way above average experience in the coffee industry. Partner tried to call them to see if they had any advice they could give in mitigating the super sour note and no phone number is to be found. This is precisely the kind of thing that is frustrating customers of businesses across the nation. How does one run a successful business without a phone? Overall, very disappointing experience from top to bottom. read more

We found this place on yelp and decided to stop by . We found street parking . The place is very quiet and kind of dark. There are a few coffee options not too many flavors. The place is definitely somewhere we're you can work. This does not seem like somewhere we're you can bring kids. The service is good here. The coffee was good but a little on the bitter side. Located conveniently in Blackstone, Archetype makes delicious coffees day in and day out. I come here often and I have yet to have an espresso drink made that was subpar. Their pour over selection and drip coffee selections are always rotating and offer a great way for someone to try different types of coffees from around the world. Looking for Omaha's best coffee spot? Look no further, Archetype is your place. I prefer the Blackstone location, but the Little Bohemia location is great as well. Both locations offer plenty of seating for studying or socializing. Archetype has all the classic drinks, made from my personal favorite beans in Omaha. They also offer a small assortment of pastries and other drinks (even alcoholic drinks at the Little Bohemia location). My favorite aspect of Archetype is they are truly a one stop shop for coffee... offering coffee beans, coffee making utensils such as grinders and kettles, and even free advice (seriously, I always ask their staff for coffee tips and they are always helpful). Archetype Coffee is the real deal. I love coffee and I have been drinking and searching the coffee world for years now. I have tried most micro-roasters in the USA and some international. I have had (Verve, madcap, intelli, stumptown, Coava, Ruby, Blue Bottle, Heart, and the list goes on and on. I Have had 49th Parallel, Square Mile and Tim Wendelboe as well. I have had some amazing coffees from these roasters through the years and I am always looking for more Micro Roasters to try! I love coffee! Archetype Coffee Ran side by side with these amazing roasters and if not side by side better. I had the Ethiopian Deri Kochowa and it was amazing. Brewed in a v60. It was full of florals with a balanced acidity with a real juicy black currant/berries mouth feel. It had a herbaceous quality to it that I had not had in a cup in a long time and it was really good. It is right up there with some Geisha coffee that I had recently had. Overall It was a very satisfying experience and I cannot wait to try more coffees from them. read more

I went here because it was the new coffee place in the neighborhood when I walked in I got a bad taste in my mouth. From the moment I walked in and you can tell this wasn't up at a place that feels they're better than they really are. There was no art on the walls at all there's maybe four people inside, the Baristas wear black shirts and ties like their cocktail bartenders at a ritzy Club in LA and I swear to God I see one more hipster walk out of this place I'm going to throw a brick through the window. hipsters die..... anyways back to coffee I got a triple shot mocha well I'm not sure they put three shots in it they didn't even fill the cup all the way up I didn't get whipped cream and I'm not sure how much chocolate they really put in it for $7 I expected a bit more thanks I'll be going to Starbucks read more

When I first came into the Archetype Coffee shop and had a shot off their Synesso, I thought: There isn't anything like this in Omaha. I moved here a little over a year ago, and immediately started tasting the different offerings around town, looking for that elusive smoothness that doesn't generally happen by chance. The first 6 months of my search was a little rough, a lot of coffee talk, but there just wasn't the taste or consistency to back it up, and then archetype opened. Think: blue bottle verve counter culture crema heart Velo These guys know what their doing. Boutique coffees and consistently great espresso. Simplistic. Sleek. Perfect. I'll be back. If you are looking for photogenic and top-notch coffee, this is the place for you! The environment isn't the best for studying, but the people throughout the shop are always willing to have a quality conversation. Their menu also has many dairy-free, gluten-free options. Came in there for coffee for the first time and to do some homework. Got the coffee, got the wifi password, sat down and start to dive in when an employee decided to then inform me then that they were closed for a private event. Felt super embarrassed. If you're closed during what is your regular hours put a sign on the door. read more

Coffee is excellent and servers are super nice. I know I can come here and it will be dependable of for a good latte or espresso. You probably wont want to stay here for hours as the chairs are more utilitarian rather than cozy. It is a bright place so I sometimes come for a brief stay with my newspaper. read more

This is the best place for Espresso drinks in this part of town. Not only do they extract the espresso perfectly, and roast their own (like nearby favorite Caffeine Dreams), but some nice latte art. Pour over also expertly handled. They're picky about their coffee, folks, and it shows!!! read more

The soft square of bread was fresh, with two pepperoni rounds, a teaspoon of mild pizza sauce and a teaspoon of white cheese. I especially liked the bread. Lastly, the coffee. It was excellent. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. I commented on the fancy machines they use and the "barista" pointed under the counter and said it was a robot. So maybe they don't have a trained barista, just a button pusher because they have a coffee-making robot. Nevertheless, it was great coffee. That being said, I can't imagine coming here again.
