Can't believe we haven't tried this place sooner!! My new favorite coffee shop/lunch spot in downtown Omaha! Fun to explore the history with all of the photos and artifacts throughout the building. Our sandwiches were sooooo good and thoughtfully made. This would be an amazing spot for an event too.

3/5 stars because: I waited 30 minuets for a 12 oz iced latte. There were only 3 people working and they were obviously very overwhelmed. This cafe doesn't have their own coffee, it's the Hardy Coffee Company beans. In a previous review I left I mentioned this coffee is neither bad or amazing. It's a decent coffee. I will give it to them that this iced latte was very good and I liked it a lot. (12 oz iced latte with oat milk and hazelnut + caramel syrup) The cafe itself is very cute, there are multiple areas to sit and work, and it's quiet inside. I would like to go back and get one of their food items and try a cocktail to see what those are like. Overall not a terrible time but not my favorite time.

Cafe postal is my go to coffee place in Omaha. I usually go here to work because it's spacious and has plenty of plugins! The coffee and other drink options are sooo good (they also have alcohol....sometimes I get coffee and stay long enough for a happy hour drink :) I rarely get food but the charcuterie board is actually crazy! we got huge portions of cheese (unless they've changed it since then). It was so worth it to get! The bagel breakfast sandwich is also very good! Their matcha's are always very good! (pictures hot and cold) They have large tables so if you go in a group, you aren't cramped at a small table like other places! The interior is absolutely gorgeous! it's in an old renovated building and has some of that old charm. The patio is quite spacious too! The employees are always super nice and helpful too! Overall, I always recommended this place for those looking for a good coffee shop in downtown Omaha!

I was so happy to find a coffee shop within the downtown area that has space for so many individuals. I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of seating; from inside couches and tables to outside tables surrounded by plants and fresh air. The workers were so lovely with their recommendations and quality of service. They have mastered the hot chocolate, it was exactly what I needed. I was also appreciative of how clean it was within this space. The building itself is beautiful with the high ceilings and large windows, they do a great job keeping tables clean and clear. I would have to say my favorite part would be all the plants and natural lighting. I may have unlocked my new favorite study spots.

Built in the former Burlington Mail terminal, this cafe has a lot of historic charm. Lots of tables and open spaces for working. They also have multiple food options which is appreciated. I got the cinnamon snap- apple cider, chai and mulling spices, which was a nice fall morning beverage. My friend got the egg bites with salad, which also looked good. Later in the morning, it did get very loud which made it hard to study or hold a conversation

Huge cafe! Lots of seating and areas to hang out. The outdoor area was very pretty. It looks like they also hold private events. The menu is above where you order. The latte was creamy but a tad bitter.

Café Postale is so cute and has so much character! I absolutely love the inside. There is so much seating, windows, plants, green decor, and vintage canvases. It has a lot of charm to it and is such a great place to hangout. I also love that they have events there such as a flea market. You can also rent the space for weddings or other events which is really cool! My iced mocha is SO good here and I tried the vegetarian omelet sandwich which is also good! My husband really likes the everything bagel sandwich. Service here has always been great and fast even when busy. I have recommended Café Postale and definitely will continue to! Such a great spot in downtown Omaha and one of my favorite places in Omaha. A must go to place!

Love the open space in this cafe. Is just gets really busy and packed quick. Still trying to find my favorite place for matcha and this spot was pretty good! Not my all time favorite but would come back again for the matcha drinks. They always have interesting seasonal drinks that are fun to try as well.

I love the people who work here. They are genuinely so nice I would come back just for them. The coffee wasn't my favorite and neither was the chai, but it didn't seem like it was made wrong. Just not my personal favorite I like my drinks more sugary. It's a really cute spot lots of room to sit inside and outside. The tables are big enough you could bring a computer and hang out for a while. Looks like a great spot for private events too.

If Cafe Postale was closer to me I fear I would be in here every single day!! It had been on my list for a while but I finally got around to trying it out with my Omaha coffee passport. First of all, what a gorgeous building!! It used to be a mail depot and maintains all of that really cool historical charm. It's also HUGE, which is really nice. Plenty of seating and tables to choose from. I've been using my coffee passport as sort of a 'tour de vanilla lattes' because I think it's a good classic to try out the quality of a new coffee shop, and I was definitely impressed at Cafe Postale! One of the better lattes I've had; I thought both the espresso taste and the creamy flavor were very good. I know I will be back for the amazing ambience and high quality coffee. They also have food, snacks, and even serve alcohol; a really versatile spot if you're in the downtown area!

I absolutely love this place! The service is nice and the ambiance is amazing. It's a huge space with many places to sit. It is the perfect place to get some work done too. I ordered their ice SF vanilla latte with whole milk, and it was great! They also offer great outdoor seating as well. I highly recommend this place!

This is a beautiful space, but I feel like that in trying to be an event space by night and a café by day (and sometimes an event space by day), it's maybe trying to do too much. The staff are friendly, but if there are several customers there, it gets really hectic for them. There were two people working...and for them to wait on customers, make the drinks, microwave the foods, and run around this spread-out area looking for the customers who had ordered it...it's a lot. The place is very nice to look at, but awkward to use. The seating would be great for an event as the tables are quite large. Unfortunately it's not optimal for a cafe as most of the tables are occupied by people using a lot of space for laptops and textbooks. I feel like smaller tables would provide for better seating for the cafe customers. The menu is fairly large, considering there is not an actual kitchen area. Everything is microwaved/toasted/assembled right there. I think the food is not as good as it could be, and seeing it being microwaved just doesn't help. On a previous visit, I got the chicken Mediterranean salad. It was so-so. There wasn't much dressing provided and when I went up to ask for more they just put some olive oil into a container for me lol. Today I got the vegetarian breakfast sandwich. And it was nice, but with the mayo in the middle and the pimento cheese spread on top, the contents of the sandwich kept trying to escape from the sides. Very frustrating to eat and I didn't finish it. I was glad I had also ordered the tomato-basil soup, this was my favorite thing here. A lot of people really enjoy it here, but my dining companions and I just weren't impressed.

I wrote this on my Facebook about my experience while traveling from California:…read more Today I was at a super cute café and ordered breakfast. After a couple of minutes, I went back up to the counter and asked if they had already started making it, because I wanted to change my order. The kitchen was open, so I said to the cook, "Don't worry about it if you've already started. I know my indecision can impact people, and I don't want to be a problem." He looked at me and said, "No, it's totally fine. Would you like some veggies on the side?" "Yes, that would be amazing," I said, and walked back to my table... and burst into tears. It wasn't just what he said. It was the kind energy in his eyes. I felt someone who took pride in what he was making, and who genuinely wanted people to be happy. I found myself asking, why am I crying? Because in a world where so many people in power feel disconnected, where corporations can make us feel like numbers, being genuinely cared for in a small café reminded me how much I love humans. Most people have love in their hearts and are trying to share it in their own small ways. As the world cracks, these simple things are more meaningful than ever.

The natural lightning and river views help to create a nice and relaxing space, while still casual enough that you don't feel bad bringing kids in. In the earlier days, it seemed like some of the menu items were too salty or whatever. But once they got established I have been happy with the experience every time. This is a restaurant attached to a science museum (but it can be entered separately). I go to a lot of museums and this food is miles better than most food you can get at most museums. I like that they offer items from local businesses such as Lola (for baked goods), Grove (juices) and Fermented Felon kombucha. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Windows are huge with a great view of the river. They serve a good iced tea, which can be not so good at other places. Also a nice hot drink selection. I like to go for a walk across the river, then come here and relax with a brownie or a slice of sweet potato cake. There is an entry fee to the museum if you want to go...or you can just meander over to the gift shop for free. It's a really good gift shop, if you are a nerd like me.

We wanted our food to-go, and the staff didn't even blink. Everything came neatly packed with utensils, making it super easy to grab and go. Honestly, whether you dine in or take it out, it's all served the same way--do with that what you will. We kicked things off with the chips and queso. The white queso had green chiles and just the right amount of heat, with a side of salsa that made it even better. Were the chips basically Tostitos? Yes. Did I care? Not one bit--they were still delicious. For $7, the portion was generous and perfect for sharing (or not). My husband ordered the Prairie Flower Burger and fries ($15), a double patty blend of ground beef and brisket topped with caramelized onions and your choice of cheese. He polished it off without a single complaint. It was hot, fresh, and exactly what you want in a burger. And the fries? Crispy, golden, and plentiful. I went with the club sandwich and house chips, and wow--that triple-decker meant business. For $12, the value was fantastic. My only tiny complaint? I wish they'd used full lettuce leaves instead of chopped--it got a little messy. But those house chips? Fresh, crispy, and borderline addictive. I'm officially hooked. Bonus points: you get a front-row seat to the casino floor while you wait. It's like dinner with built-in entertainment. Plus, the staff were all friendly and upbeat, which made the whole experience even better. The best part? We live just five minutes away, so everything was still piping hot by the time we got home. Their All Day Menu runs until 11 PM on weekdays and goes all the way until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays--perfect for night owls or anyone needing a late-night bite after hitting the slots. If you are a veteran, don't forget to tell them--you will get an extra 10% discount! I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu--and I've already got my eye on breakfast next time.
