After many years I finally made it Cafe Postal, and what have I been missing! This place is absolutely goregous. They've really kept a lot of the historical elements and pay homage to the postal service. I had a skinny hot latte, and a bagel sandwich for breakfast. I co-worked at a large table for hours, and finished with a chicken pesto sandwich. Both the bagael sandwich and the pesto were great! Nothing tasted microwaved. It was very gourmet. I have been told to try Cafe Postale for a while now, and finally went to cowork and enjoy breakfast here! The staff is very friendly, and offered recommendations from the menu since I was unsure about what to choose. There was a variety of seating, and even an extra room full of chairs and beautiful natural lighting, complete with a view of the Durham! The setting is beautiful, classy, and upscale while being the perfect location to work. The music is relaxing as well, and I would love to have future study sessions here. I ordered the Orange Spice Tea Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the zest the orange added, while being milky and having the perfect amount of spice. It was absolutely delicious, and I would return simply for this. I also tried the Chive Biscuit Sandwich, which was a bit dry but otherwise good. The parking situation was not the most ideal, but to be expected in this part of Omaha. My new favorite coffee shop to work from hands down. I'm obsessed with the sun room in Cafe Postale and have scheduled many a work with friends session since I found it. I am a big fan of the design of this space - it's nice and quiet, spacious, has big enough tables to work with others, and ample access to charger ports (HUGE). The coffee and service is just as great! They've got rotating specials that are always tasty and some snacks if you need an extra pick me up. read more

3/5 stars because: I waited 30 minuets for a 12 oz iced latte. There were only 3 people working and they were obviously very overwhelmed. This cafe doesn't have their own coffee, it's the Hardy Coffee Company beans. In a previous review I left I mentioned this coffee is neither bad or amazing. It's a decent coffee. I will give it to them that this iced latte was very good and I liked it a lot. (12 oz iced latte with oat milk and hazelnut + caramel syrup) The cafe itself is very cute, there are multiple areas to sit and work, and it's quiet inside. I would like to go back and get one of their food items and try a cocktail to see what those are like. Overall not a terrible time but not my favorite time. read more

Cafe postal is my go to coffee place in Omaha. I usually go here to work because it's spacious and has plenty of plugins! The coffee and other drink options are sooo good (they also have alcohol....sometimes I get coffee and stay long enough for a happy hour drink :) I rarely get food but the charcuterie board is actually crazy! we got huge portions of cheese (unless they've changed it since then). It was so worth it to get! The bagel breakfast sandwich is also very good! Their matcha's are always very good! (pictures hot and cold) They have large tables so if you go in a group, you aren't cramped at a small table like other places! The interior is absolutely gorgeous! it's in an old renovated building and has some of that old charm. The patio is quite spacious too! The employees are always super nice and helpful too! I was so happy to find a coffee shop within the downtown area that has space for so many individuals. I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of seating; from inside couches and tables to outside tables surrounded by plants and fresh air. The workers were so lovely with their recommendations and quality of service. They have mastered the hot chocolate, it was exactly what I needed. I was also appreciative of how clean it was within this space. The building itself is beautiful with the high ceilings and large windows, they do a great job keeping tables clean and clear. Café Postale is so cute and has so much character! I absolutely love the inside. There is so much seating, windows, plants, green decor, and vintage canvases. It has a lot of charm to it and is such a great place to hangout. I also love that they have events there such as a flea market. You can also rent the space for weddings or other events which is really cool! My iced mocha is SO good here and I tried the vegetarian omelet sandwich which is also good! My husband really likes the everything bagel sandwich. Service here has always been great and fast even when busy. I have recommended Café Postale and definitely will continue to! The service was ok, nothing over the top just taking your order and they bring your coffee to you but no napkin or straw offered even for a cold drink dripping with condensation. First of all, what a gorgeous building!! It used to be a mail depot and maintains all of that really cool historical charm. It's also HUGE, which is really nice. I've been using my coffee passport as sort of a 'tour de vanilla lattes' because I think it's a good classic to try out the quality of a new coffee shop, and I was definitely impressed at Cafe Postale! This is a beautiful space, but I feel like that in trying to be an event space by night and a café by day (and sometimes an event space by day), it's maybe trying to do too much. The staff are friendly, but if there are several customers there, it gets really hectic for them. There were two people working...and for them to wait on customers, make the drinks, microwave the foods, and run around this spread-out area looking for the customers who had ordered it...it's a lot. The place is very nice to look at, but awkward to use. The seating would be great for an event as the tables are quite large. Unfortunately it's not optimal for a cafe as most of the tables are occupied by people using a lot of space for laptops and textbooks. I feel like smaller tables would provide for better seating for the cafe customers. The menu is fairly large, considering there is not an actual kitchen area. Everything is microwaved/toasted/assembled right there. I think the food is not as good as it could be, and seeing it being microwaved just doesn't help. On a previous visit, I got the chicken Mediterranean salad. It was so-so. There wasn't much dressing provided and when I went up to ask for more they just put some olive oil into a container for me lol. Today I got the vegetarian breakfast sandwich. And it was nice, but with the mayo in the middle and the pimento cheese spread on top, the contents of the sandwich kept trying to escape from the sides. Very frustrating to eat and I didn't finish it. I was glad I had also ordered the tomato-basil soup, this was my favorite thing here. The service was excellent and our food was made so fast! We originally wanted to get coffee from this place, but they were closed for a private event yesterday. After going to our usual coffee place this morning, we decided to stop by here for breakfast. We got chicken salad sandwiches and it was so delicious. Much better than any chicken sandwich I've had from other cafes. We were given the option of bread or croissants and we chose bread, but the next time we visit, we will definitely choose the latter and get drinks as well! Not only is the food extra amazing but so is the staff, the vibe of the building, the coffee and tea menu- pastries etc. I would love to have a private event here. Great place, we spent a day away from the office and chilled at the cafe from 9am-2pm ish! You can also rent their party room for weddings and parties. The space is large with many tables. Bright open windows that let in a ton of natural light. Baristas were nice. I had the egg nog latte on the winter menu, it was delicious. And for lunch had a hibiscus tea (artemis tea) you also get up to 3 free refills on the tea if you stay and work, which is really great! The theme is post office (I believe the original Omaha post office was here???) with some adorable vintage postal photography on the walls. The furniture is well curated and would be perfect for a few insta photos. The Roasted Vegetable Salad was absolutely delicious. So many fresh vegetables with the tastiest dressing. I was not a huge fan of the hummus but maybe you'd like it. Also got an iced matcha latte that hit the spot. All of the drinks I have gotten here have never disappointed. Today was my first visit to Cafe Postale after being on my list for months now! The interior is large and I love that the historic character of the building is still obvious! There were a good amount of breakfast and lunch options on the menu, in addition to some pastry options being available. There were also lots of drink options, coffee and otherwise. I ordered the iced latte with oat milk and really enjoyed the coffee. I also ordered the everything bagel sandwich and thought the bagel was delicious. The bacon jam and smoked gouda were perfect for a slightly sweet and savory combo. My friend and I received our food and drinks very quickly which was great, and the baristas were very friendly. This would be the perfect place to work from home, as there is a lot of space and bigger tables for others to meet up for meetings or working on group projects. I can't wait to come back! read more

We received a gift certificate here and I was all about trying it. The reviews looked great and pictures looked good too. I tried the juniper latte and it was fantastic! Highly recommend! However, everything else was not as pleasant. The lavender latte was alright at best. The flavor just wasn't for me and it wasn't as sweet as I imagined it would be. And the chicken and waffle sandwich was not good. They felt like microwaved waffles and cheap chicken. I would not recommend it. If you're going here for coffee and alcoholic drinks you might have a different experience than I did. Having it in an old post office had a good feel to it though. Is our new favorite café. Coffee is fabulous. Service is always friendly and even when there's a line and a very busy rush, they hustle to get everyone taken care of and always do it with a smile. The space is one of the most beautifully done in Omaha, an old postal building and even more history than that - they've made it an awesome open and airy Café. There's ample seating enough for us to have work meetings and actually have a space to get some stuff done. Food is delicious. We've tried breakfast sandwiches the banana bread soup all are really delicious and hubby says it's probably the best mocha he's had in town in a while. read more

What a fun coffee shop. Love that it is right next to Amtrack which you can see from the side of their patio. Such a wide variety of a menu and much larger than anticipated. From bakery items to sandwiches and much more there is sure to be something you like! In addition to coffee drinks they also serve alcohol. So much of a variety and the décor is super fun! Will be making this a regular stop. The only drawback is parking is mostly only on the 10th street bridge if you can't find any on the side of the building. Not a big deal though! read more

I waited until visit #2 (this time with the kiddos in tow) to review. I'm happy to report that Cafe Postale is a great addition to downtown Omaha/Little Italy. The owners did a great job at blending the history into the modern elements of this space. A lot of it: the seating and velvet curtains and luxury accents feel reminiscent of a fancy cigar room, though I have zero personal experience there ha! As for the coffee: get the brown sugar cardamom syrup! In an oatmilk latte, or add it to an iced coffee with cream. It's divine! We tried the keto casserole, and while I'm not sure it's house made, it is scrumptious! And for $6, you get a big enough portion that you're able to share. They currently offer Hardy and Bad Seed Coffee as well as Artemis Teas and the Omaha Cookie Company, so they're doing a great job supporting other existing local businesses in the process. I did have a couple of hesitations about my experiences - I was served a drink in a lipstick stained mug during my first visit, which was quickly apologized for and replaced. And then the second was just the fact that for an iced coffee (partly bc they only offer a cold brew) rang up for over $5 with a flavor. That's a little steep for my wallet, personally. read more

Cafe Postale gives me hope and inspiration in Omaha again. This quaint little spot right over the bridge from the old market and across the street from the Durham is the best place to be. It gives you faint vibes of Europe and a quiet space to hangout with friends, do homework, or listen to their live music. I ordered the Artemis tea and my sister got the peach basil ice tea with a turkey melt. I loved my tea, and my sister liked hers except the peach syrup was a bit strong on the basil side! As far as her turkey melt went, the bread and toppings were good but the turkey was not exactly the most appealing slice in the world. She wasn't a huge fan of the food, but the experience and drinks were pleasant. On the particular night we went there was live music, I'm not sure if they play music over speakers normally when there isn't but before she started playing it was eerily quiet. Next time I go, I hope there's some good coffee shop tunes playing - it just sets the atmosphere right! All in all this spot is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for anything. This may be one of my new favorite coffee shops! First of all, it is a very lovely location with beautiful decor. I love how bright and open it is. I was unsure of what to order and asked the barista a couple questions about the menu as well as asked for her opinion on some of the drinks, and she was very helpful and patient the entire time. In addition to coffee, I also ordered a waffle sandwich (I was so happy to see them serving heavenly waffles here!). Good food, good coffee, and a good book to read made for a wonderful visit.
