Located just on the outskirts of downtown and within walking distance of several nearby hotels, Zen is a great option if you're looking to venture slightly off the beaten path for good coffee. The space is relaxed and has a welcoming vibe with two distinct seating areas offering a mix of tables, lounge chairs, and sofas. The music is at a comfortable level, with plenty of folks settled in on their laptops working and studying. Even though it was cold outside, I ordered a medium iced mocha. It was rich and chocolaty without being overly sweet. Despite a decent crowd inside, my drink was ready within minutes and service was genuinely friendly. Overall, this is a solid neighborhood coffee shop that's worth the short walk if you're staying nearby. read more

Visited 05/02/26: 9:44 am Parking can be difficult at this location due to limited parking spaces. I paid to park along the street to grab my latte this morning. The cashier was friendly and helped me apply the eGift card that I had purchased. The Bees Knees Latte that I used to order is no longer on the menu, so I tried a Honey Bee, similar, just without the aromatics. Not as good, but I am sure I could have asked for something closer to the original latte, so that is not on them. Ambience is great, well decorated, and plenty of tables. The baristas were having a conversation that would be deemed inappropriate by many, especially since the young man had a few colorful things to say that got some good laughs from his coworkers; luckily, I don't mind hearing the gossip while I wait for my beverage. Fairly quick service considering how busy they were. I recommend stopping by if there is a free space open. read more

Incredible drinks and even better service. Tried the pistashio white mocha and raspberry truffle and both drinks were perfectly sweet and delicious. I accidentally knocked over my raspberry truffle drink midway through a connect 4 game with my boyfriend and made a fool of myself unfortunately. But the staff were super helpful and helped clean up and even brought a new drink without me asking (I didn't deserve it). Needless to say I will be coming back to try more of the delicious drinks and maybe a coffee flight or two!! read more

While a bit difficult to access with the disarray of construction, Zen Coffee is worth hopping fences, trudging through mud, and dodging random 15 foot wide holes in the ground. A diverse and curiously mysterious menu offers some rare options, i. e. Butterbeer and Tiramisu coffee. Staff are truly friendly and energetic, adding to the lift-me-up needs in the way AM. Belgian Waffle Coffee from Zen Coffee is a really cute combo that totally made my morning! The waffle sits right on top of the coffee cup like a little treat hat with its warm and golden waffle topped with a swirl of whipped cream. It's simple but such a clever pairing that balances the bitterness of the coffee and the sweetnes of the waffle. The waffle itself was slightly crisp on the outside and chewy on d inside. It has that caramelized sugar bite which reminds me of a classic Liege waffle. Paired with their smooth, rich coffee, it's the perfect mix of cozy and indulgent. A new review for my Omaha Coffee Tour: I wanted to love Zen, I really did. It's so cute inside and the workers are all very kind and funny. The prices of things really bummed me out though. Before I get into the review, keep in mind that it cost $36 BEFORE tip to get these items. 16 oz Caramel Vanilla Oat Latte, my go to when I can't decide on a specialty coffee on their menu. Their espresso was pulled well and it was smooth and yummy! I enjoyed this coffee a lot. 16 oz Pina Colada Energy Refresher, sadly not the best. It tasted like a crystal light packet was emptied into an energy drink without the fizz. (Single slice) Everything Avocado Toast, super yummy but wasn't worth $8.50.. it was a single slice of toast with a nice avocado on it, a large amount of cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning. (This might be worth it to you, but in my opinion one slice of toast for almost $9 is insane) (Single slice) Blueberry toast was the same, very lovely, but still just once slice of toast for $9+ with blueberries, goat cheese, walnuts and honey. I think the toast is great, do not get me wrong, I do think it is a splurge for the average person these days. I think overall this shop is gorgeous and has nice workers and the coffee is good. I do not think the refresher options are worth the money or the toasts. For $36 you can get endless pasta at spaghetti works for 2, a steak and egg breakfast at Lisa's radial, or dinner and cocktails during happy hour for 2 at blue sushi. We tried to come here a week ago and they were out of matcha so this weekend we tried again! My husband and I went here on Saturday. We felt lucky because we walked in and ordered right away. A line started almost immediately after we ordered. We waited about 15 minutes and then my husbands drink came out. Waited another 15 minutes and my matcha still hadn't come. I finally said something and they made my matcha right away. I'm not sure what happened but my order definitely got lost. They handled it super well but then when I got my matcha it was barely mixed. If you are looking for a cute little spot to grab something to eat and drink and don't want to go to the big chain spot from Seattle, this is where you want to be. Let me start with, I'm a sucker for place that offers flights, and this place offers not just coffee flights, but lemonade flights and toast flights as well for the indecisive want to try a little of everything person. However I had an idea going in with what I wanted. I got the hint butter beer and the mystic (maybe magical) lemonade and classic avocado toast. I found a spot and waited for them to call me back up to claim my items. The wait wasn't long and there is plenty of seating. The butter beer coffee (for me) left me wanting for more. I've had butter beer in various forms and I couldn't really taste anything that made me think "oh, this taste like butter beer" - however the coffee itself was good. The lemonade however was really tasty. I like things on the sweeter side, so I added just a little sugar to it, but besides that, I'd order it again. The avocado toast is what you'd expect from avocado toast however this had some spice to it from the red pepper flakes. I'd like a little squeeze of lemon juice on the avocado but otherwise, it was good and was enough to fill me for the morning. Would I come back? (And I think that's always the factor to these reviews) . . . I would and next time I'm bringing folks with me so I can try out the flights. read more

I love Zen! I'm glad they have so many locations across Omaha. They have some of the best seasonal and specialty coffees in the area. They also have awesome drink flights if you can't pick just one. I've never had a bad coffee here. This time I tried their Cinnamon Dolce hot with almond milk- of course, it was amazing as always. They also have a great selection of scones, muffins, cookies, and treats. They also have a couple gluten free items. I love that they also sell coffee in bags and other coffee accessories. I loooove Zen, one of my Omaha staple coffee shops. They always have some sort of rotating featured menu, which i LOVE. When we went this past time, they had their Valentine's Day menu and ooooh was it delish. I tried the tiramisu latte and it knocked my socks off! The perfect amount of sweetness, the cold foam was the perfect texture, overall a delicious latte. I also really enjoy their avocado toasts (especially the pesto one!) and their pastries are always good, too! The hardest part was deciding what coffee flavors I wanted since there were so many different options to choose from. Tried a mixture of hot and iced along with the avocado toast. I coworked here last Friday and it was such a nice experience. We started with some of their seasonal drinks and opened up the laptops and got to work. The service was great and the atmosphere was bumping! Very lively, but Fridays probably bring a pre-weekend crowd. I love that there is so much space to spread out and work, and I was training so I had to talk a lot, and luckily everyone was talking so i made it more relaxing then trying to whisper. I really like the season cinnamon drink hot, but I do always favor one of their teas in the afternoon. Zen is a vibe. Their Farnam location is my favorite with such fun decor. All the baristas I've encounters are super nice and I love how the owner is often working in the shop as well. For coffee, their house blend is delicious and smooth so I can easily drink it black. My go-to at any coffee shop is usually flavored lattes, and I'll be honest, times I've gone before, I had a hard time discerning the flavors in there. But I'm glad I went back and gave them another chance because the 4 drinks I tried as part of the Girl Scout cookie flight were delightful. Each had a unique, distinct flavor that perfectly mimicked the cookie it accompanied. I also have never had a bad pastry there. They make all their baked goods in house and you can tell because of how fresh they are. My favorites are the bacon cheddar scone and the peanut butter chocolate bars. One thing I'd love to see revisited is the rewards program. I spent $50 on 2 flights and only received 1 star for my visit, the same starts if I purchased a small coffee. read more

I was hoping the Belgium latte would have a unique flavor, but it ended up tasting like a standard latte than maple. The waffle on top was a fun touch, although it looked different than what the menu online showed. Also, the cafe had a cozy atmosphere and service didn't feel rushed despite there being a steady stream of customers.
