Dope tiki bar in Omaha! If I'm in a new city for 48 hours, odds are I'm gonna find the tiki oasis…read more This was just what the doctor ordered. Long event day on our feet and this was the definition of an escape. The underground tiki bar might not seem like much when you're walking down the stairs to find it, but once you're inside you're transported somewhere vibrant yet relaxed all at once. Bartenders were super nice and friendly. They made awesome conversation and once they found out I was visiting, they seemed even more hospitable. Tiki drinks are known to take a few extra minutes due to the laundry list of ingredients, so the fact they took the time to get to know me really elevated the experience. For the cocktail menu, you'll find all the classics like Mai Tai, Painkiller, Saturn, etc. They also had an extensive variety of original cocktails, which I think we all opted for. Mine was called the Swamp Rattler (had to pay homage to my Florida roots) and I loved it! Vibes are on point. Place was busy at 11pm on a Thursday night. Most of us didn't realize it was closing time at midnight, and they were all so friendly about telling us to leave. Was cool that the bartenders knew all the tiki bars in Denver, too! My fave stop in Omaha, awesome spot!

After 11 p.m., there's usually a line to get in, and there's typically a $10 cover charge. One downside is that they only accept cash, so there's often a line at the ATM as well. Dj could be better though! There are two different dance floors, plus a nice, spacious patio with a fountain. Overall, it's always good vibes here, and it's a great place for a fun night out!

Yes, it's changed some - but pretty much all in positive ways! Loved the music and vibes. The bartenders were friendly. Drinks were crazy cheap by Vegas standards. As an older guy now, the most surprising thing was how many college-age straight-ish folkz there were (can't know for sure, of course - but that's what it looked like) It warms my heart to see how friendly, open, and accepting that crowd is. Keep Leading the Charge, Omaha! That being said, I feel that we're losing spaces where just gay men hang out. I miss the sexy, cruisey, brotherly vibe of some of the old haunts. Still, it's a fair trade to see so many ages, genders, and presentations all having fun together. My husband - who is born & raised in Las Vegas - where we live - said "Why do I have to travel to Omaha to hang out in a really great gay bar?!" WTF, Vegas?! Times change, but The Max is eternal!

Popcorn and Cocktails (PaC) is such a cool idea for a business…read more The interior is so cute and almost a 20s vintage vibe with a cool Omaha mural. We first visited PaC at a Yelp event, but now we are hooked on their popcorn! The cocktails portion of Popcorn and Cocktails is nothing to sneeze at either. They are super smooth and flavorful, and the perfect pairing with a little side of popcorn. They even have pairings on their menu that show you which popcorns go best with each cocktail (and each cocktail actually comes with a side of that popcorn). If you like your side of popcorn that came with your cocktail, you can also purchase a large bag of it to take home! Our favorite popcorns have been the French Toast, Bourbon Bacon Cheddar, and Peanut Butter. They have popcorns for every craving - savory or sweet. And the cocktail we've liked the best was the Summer Peach - which literally came with a peach candy on the rim! So easy to drink and a little sweet. Popcorn with cocktails might sound like an odd combination, but PaC does it perfectly and will convert you to a fan of this combo!!

They have a great selection of cocktails, beers, wines, liquor, and some happy hour deals. My mimosas were sweet and fruity. I love the idea of pairing sweet cocktails with a salty snack to have while hanging out. They have tables for large groups or for two, and plenty of seating at the bar. You can also buy popcorn to go if wanted. Prices are a little high, but it does come with a snack, so take that into consideration
