Stopped in for Omaha restaurant week and had a great time! Between my friends and I, we got to try about everything on the menu. I started with the glass noodle salad - it was pretty light and a great start to the meal. The other appetizer, the shishito peppers, were also very tasty - they had an amazing sauce on them but be aware: one in our bunch was quite spicy (the rest were not spicy at all). I got the gochujang chicken wings and they were awesome. I have an average/low spice tolerance (maybe like a 3/10 is my preferred range) and these were about all I could handle while still being happy. Aka they're not overly spicy but they definitely have a kick. The flavor is so good though I would eat these any day. The other entree, the bahn mi tasted very fresh with the pickled veggies and the pork was also really good. The chocolate wontons for dessert were a great way to cap off the meal! The surprise lemon marmalade was delish! Our server was very nice, offering many refills of water (especially with the spicy pepper lol) and timing our plates to come out perfectly. Checking off my bucket listing of Omaha establishments, the brewery was very interesting. While the service, food and beer selections were quite enjoyable, we were most impressed with the outdoor seating which was adorable. We learned that the floral arrangement was formed by the owner and unfortunately I didn't take any photos to show it's beauty. We plan to visit again and enjoy that surrounding. read more

Went here for trivia and this is going to be our new go to place! They have great beers and I love that you can get a flight to try a few different ones. I tried the tapalope, no carrot all, b passionate, and college water and they were all super tasty but I think the tapalope was my favorite. It had such a good flavor but wasn't too hoppy. We also got the pretzel sticks and they were exactly what I wanted - very salty and chewy, and the cheese sauce and mustard were the perfect accompaniments. This space is very nice, the staff is friendly, and the service was quick! We went for the Omaha Restaurant Week menu and also had an order of fish and chips! For $16 the fish and chips were great! Nice large pieces of fish, decent fries and a nice dipping sauce! The Restaurant Week menu was okay, I had anticipated the cauliflower to be a whole plate of just cauliflower but it was a few pieces on some lettuce. Not bad just not my jam. The steak was good, the potatoes that were with it were okay, they were missing something but I couldn't figure out what, just a little bland and didn't blend well with the steak. The lemon bar was LOVELY! I really liked them, not too sweet or tart and had a cute little burnt lemon on top! I had the red sangria (a summer special) and we had a glass of college water (one of their permanent beers), both were great! The sangria had cider in it which was so great, a fun take on the usual sangria, the college water tasted just like a light beer you could drink for hours at a hot sports game. Had a great night here recently where they were very accommodating with our two toddlers and even brought us high chairs! The staff were incredibly kind and joked around with them/were making faces and brought us a sticker while we were waiting for our food which came out fast. My kids enjoyed sitting in the back away from a lot of the people where they could watch everyone in the kitchen preparing the food. The cheeseburger and fries were a massive hit with my 1.5 and 3 year olds who basically split the adult sized portion. My husband seemed to enjoy the pretzel with cheese and ipa mustard sauce as well as the wings. There is a parking lot nearby which definitely makes the parking situation easier. The fried Brussels were not a huge hit with my small family- probably due to the heavier chili powder? All in all a relaxing meal for the parents! read more

Benson Brewery is a solid staple in the Benson neighborhood, with great beer/drinks selection and pretty tasty food options. The interior decor is very diner-style, with a long booth along one side, and bar seating on the other. The open kitchen can be seen at the far end of the restaurant, which is always kind of nice to see. There is a side room that's great for overflow on busy days or for larger groups/events. A few tables and chairs are also out front on the patio. My favorite beer they have is the Blonde Bunny when I want something lighter. A lot of their other beer options are sours or IPAs or darker, which I know is some people's cup of tea - just not mine Appetizer-wise, I love the Brussels Sprouts, but they seem to have changed a little over the years. This past time there was a lot less balsamic, and some type of fruit/vegetable (maybe the candied oranges?) that had a numbing effect on my mouth. My friend who had the same app agreed, so it wasn't just me. Still tasty and all, but just different from previous times I had ordered it. The Brew Fries are absolutely delicious, with house seasoning and a few dips you can order, including a homemade ranch that was to die for. And then there's my favorite entree/sandwich - the pork tenderloin! It's breaded to perfection, the aioli is super yummy (I always order extra), and the bun comes all toasty and divine. I have never gotten a good photo of this, because it gets gobbled up so quickly! The service was great the last time we were there with a group of 17 (!!!) so kudos to the staff in putting up with us :-) I would definitely recommend Benson Brewery for a quick bite, great beer, or to catch a game. read more

The quality and presentation is there and the sauces are homemade and delicious which always wins me. It's not hard to make great ranch! Husband got the fish and chips, perfectly crisp. Sadly Benson Brewery did not live up to the hype. We got two seasonal beers and the mainstay sour. The beers were all good. We followed that with the pretzel sticks and brussel sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the meal. A uniquely prepared dish with oranges. It was the burgers where things took a turn. The menu states made to order, warns about undercookedeat, etc. And the waitress asked how we wanted them made. Our three burgers were supposed to be medium and medium rare but all were well done. If you aren't going to even attempt to make them as ordered, why ask? There are so many great Benson restaurants that we probably won't be back, but if we do return we will stick to beer and apps. read more

Went to benson Brewery yesterday for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice inside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I regret not trying the beer as I've heard it's good. Now to the food. I ordered the black bean burger with a salad for the side and wife has the fish n chips. First my salad was very good. Fresh cherry tomatoes and the vinaigrette was lovely! The patio and beer garden was open but we decided to sit just inside since it was a little hot. The atmosphere is a laid back, casual bar feel with a nice open front area to sit in addition to their back beer garden. Service was great for them being fairly busy while we were there. I orders their fish and chips based on our server's recommendation and they did not disappoint! Super crunchy batter and tender fish with a delicious tarter sauce to compliment. My wife had their black bean burger (Also based on recommendation) which she said was one of the better ones she's tried around town. My son was easily pleased with their grilled cheese. With the good weather, we decided to come for happy hour and sit on the outdoor patio. We all ordered delicious beers and since I was starving, I ordered the bacon bleu burger. I'm not the biggest fan of bleu cheese, so I ordered the bleu cheese sauce on the side. The balsamic bacon Jan was absolutely delicious - salty but also a little sweet and tangy. Benson Brewery always sneaks up on me with how good it is. Usually I am going in for a beer and quick bite, but the food always surprises me. The burgers are fantastic, the Reuben is delicious, and the apps (pretzel sticks and cheese!) are great with a beer. This particular time I opted for the Reuben. I don't like an overloaded reuben, and Benson Brewery nails the proportions...not overly thick on the pastrami, and a generous amount of sauerkraut. The bread is perfectly toasted to give a nice crunch to the sandwich. For beers, I like their hazy IPA, but the nitro velveteen (milk stout) is great if you're into that creamy stout type beer. Also, the Mexican lager is never a bad choice. They also offer many barrel aged beers if that's your fancy. Definitely recommend this place over any other burger spot in Benson, and it's really not even close. Grab a seat at the bar, put in an order of pretzels or a burger, and stay for a few! read more

I surprised my wife with a date here on a Wednesday night. I love the ambience - it's a mix between bar and sit down and was both comfortable but felt upscale. The menu was very simple and small, which is good if everything on the menu is good! I heard the chef special and my ears perked at hearing "Jalopeno popper and dr. Pepper sauce", and I thought. . . Benson Brewery. A solid choice for an adventure in this ever growing district of restaurants, breweries, craft cocktail bars, and dive bars. It's honestly the most diverse drinking and eating area of Omaha if you ask me. There are a lot of grunge dive original bars, and some newer fancy hipster sh*t too. I love Benson. Benson Brewery for me is all about the food. You can get some good beers and some decent cocktails, but I wouldn't come here JUST for that despite -brew- in the name of the establishment. The food menu is diverse and allows creative eats for vegans and veggie lovers. I think the seitan nuggets/wings here are the best I've had in Omaha (and that beats out Modern love, even thought I'm pretty sure the veggie menu at BB was created by Isa herself). I recently resampled the "wings" and they were as outstanding as I remember. There's a relaxed air here and the staff is very friendly. I think they have a rooftop but have never explored it nor do I know how to get there. Perhaps I'll ask the next time I am there in good weather. Overall, solid place to visit in Benson but hopefully not your first or last stop. So much more to be explored in the neighborhood. My husband and I ate dinner here on a recent Saturday night and the food was pretty good. We arrived around 7:30 and the restaurant wasn't overly busy so we were seated right away. We started with the charred brew wings in the hot flavor and they were excellent. The wings are locally sourced. They were great quality and equally great flavor. For dinner, we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the fried pork tenderloin. The burger was very good. The tenderloin was even better! The havarti, caramelized onions snd mushrooms were a different spin on a tenderloin and it made for a great combo. I've stopped in several times and this time as no different than any other. I had a drink that wasn't on the menu before...something with a weird name. It was fruity, but not super sugary and pretty good. I could def. drink a few and be tipsy without even noticing...haha.
