Wow! I have lived in Millard for 40 years and never came in here, I could have been having amazing food and service for a long time, had I came in! Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an old bar vibe and with dim lighting. I enjoyed the atmosphere very laid back and cozy neighborhood bar feel. We started with the steak bite appetizer! Holy cow the seasoning and flavor was amazing! Definitely will be getting those again. The dipping sauce was teriyaki, so good and had a little kick at the end. I used the rest to dip my waffles in. Buffalo chicken sandwich was a good portion for $14. I did the up charge for waffle fries instead of the chips what normally comes with it. It didn't have a huge kick was nice, don't get me wrong it still had my nose running ha. The winning dish of the meal was the charred wings! I didn't get a photo of them but man I don't even like bone in wings and I would go back there just to order those. We did BBQ but they have so many sauces that I want to try. It used to be the Cottner Street Bar and Grill. Anyway, it looked like the Lady behind the bar was in charge. She was mixing it up with what looked like about six regulars and gave us the cold shoulder from the start. We sat down at a table near the bar, we had our pick of tables because there was only one other table occupied. She seemed annoyed that we were there and was avoiding eye contact. We had to waver her down to get an order in for three sandwiches and a beer after waiting way too long. It was the same drill when we wanted our check and there was no service in between; no water refills, no "how is everything", nothing. It was a very unwelcoming experience." read more

I don't really know how to write this review - honestly when I have a bad experience at a place, I tend to hold off until I go again to see if it was just a bad night or what I should expect for the future. However, I really don't think that this is a place I will be going again in the future, so I am going to go ahead and write the review. When I arrived, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to come up to me to get me started on an order - I was about to leave when the bartender/waitress approached me and did confirm they were still serving food for the next hour. I just asked for a water, soda and a menu. Again it took almost 10 minutes to get those items. I was about to leave again, when the bartender/waitress came rushing over with my drinks an a menu apologizing - she stated she had asked her co-worker to get me the drinks and he just made them and set them on the table. He also walked by and apologized. I ordered the beef philly with waffle fries and no peppers. It looked amazing when it came and the waffle fries are as good as people say. I was really disappointed in the sandwich though - no flavor - I have never done this with a philly but I added ketchup to give it some flavor and it made it much better. It was busy and maybe that is why I was missed, but honestly this felt a little too like a neighborhood bar which really just tends to focus on their regulars and new people get ignored. I didn't like the neighborhood feel - there was few people who were really drunk, lots of yelling and it seemed like the bartender was having to be more of a bouncer than a customer should have to worry about going to a neighborhood bar and grill on a Thursday night. Actually he is the reason I am giving 3 stars instead of two - he was very apologetic about the sodas and he prevented a man who was really drunk from joining my table and apologized that this was a possibility in the first place. read more

7th stop on our burger tour. #1 now. Knocked Louie M's Burger Lust and Smitty's Garage Burgers and Beer down to 2nd. Burger thickness to bun thickness was just perfect according to the carnivores in the group. It only took one or two bites for them to decide this was #1. The patty was perfectly moist. Not to greasy, not too dry, did not fall apart. Apparently it tasted ok too :-) I had the personal pizza with pepperoni and onion. It was above average for a bar pizza. Definitely a hometown bar atmosphere, with a lot of regulars in attendance. Staff friendly and helpful. Just the right amount of attention. Plenty of TV's if you want to watch sports. The noise level was low, but it wasn't the weekend either. Definitely a place to come back to. read more

Bartenders are Scammers! Check Your Receipts!!! I had two charges when I woke up in the morning this week. One was legit for $70 and then they added an extra $130 charge that was a theft from the bartender. I called one of my friends who was with me that night and he said he had a problem the week before where they overcharged him $170 and he had to go in and settle it with the owner Jenna. Who eventually gave him cash back. Then he proceeded to tell me about another incident also in the last week another friend had a $130 false charge on her account before she even received her bill while still playing Golden Tee in their establishment. This is while they were holding her CC. If you like to be robbed go ahead and give it a whirl. Otherwise I would walk across the street to any of the other establishments that won't rob you blind. read more

We came in tonight had a great time ordered drinks and had a blast. I noticed the bartender was having a good time as well, which I'm all about because I am in the industry also. When you can't fully do your job though it becomes an issue. We ordered a round of drinks, the bartender took my cousins credit card and lost it. My cousin brought our round to the table, returned for her card and proceeded to get yelled at by the bartender about how she never gave her a card. The bartender was dropping F Bombs and accusing us of never giving her a payment, she sure felt stupid when she found the card she misplaced. I've come here only twice, once when they opened and very recently. The first time i came in here the bartender was maybe a shot or two too deep.. I had to ask for my tab 3 times. This recent time however was a very uncomfortable situation for a single female. I was hit on for nearly an hour by some weirdos at the bar, i felt like they might have been the girl working at the time friends as they were all joking and laughing together. I stayed because i was expecting company and they kept saying how they needed to go but they didn't leave so i did. I was urged by a coworker to come here when I told him that Oscar's has the best char-buffed wings in the city. As someone who likes to dive into a lesser known spot now and again, I agreed and came in for lunch today. It's a pretty unassuming joint in old Millard. An old building on a ramshackle brick road with countless new constructions surrounding them, I went in with minimal expectations, but no judgements. I was greeted warmly by the young lady tending the bar. She was very nice and engaging with everyone that was there this afternoon; perhaps 20 or so folks. After reading the reviews, I was originally going to get a burger to see if what was said was true, but I instead opted for a chicken philly, upgrades to waffle fries, and of course got an order of char-buffed wings. She told me the wings would take around 20 minutes to make, the lone cook in the kitchen had some orders backed up with their new foray into a food-delivery service. This was fine with me, and I just had them come with the rest of my food. I was completely blown away. Let's start with the sandwich. This might be the best philly I've had in this city, and I'm a cheesesteaker from way back. The bread was an absolute delight, soft and fresh. The guts of the thing were so perfectly aligned it was like a freaking symphonic composition. The cheese was evenly distributed throughout, the onions were perfectly cooked and the ooze from them and the mushrooms made for a truly epic sandwich. I devoured every morsel, even licking my fingers like a heathen. The waffle fries were crispy and seasoned wonderfully. I initially plopped a pool of ketchup down to eat with them, but it was the only thing left of this basket of food after I had finished. But as great as the sandwich and fries were, they were like a porch light compared to the sun with they way they paled in comparison to the wings. I really can't put into words how legit these monsters were. Again, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy inside; dry, salty, and crispy on the outside just like a char-buff should be. I was stunned. I never thought I would ever find someone to dethrone Oscar's, but this was like Mayweather V MacGregor. Unbelievable. I left so satisfied that I couldn't even drive home without writing this review first. I can't wait until the next time I come here to enjoy these wings again. Honestly, you would think the brick road this establishment sits on was yellow, because it led me directly to the emerald city of flavor, man. If I could give 6 stars I would. This place was a total surprise find. We were looking for a pizza restaurant in the neighborhood and this place popped up. It is in old town Millard and kind of off the beaten path. Very unassuming building from the outside, but spacious and cozy on the inside. Old school bar atmosphere. I was a little nervous when we first walked in because it is one of those places where all the regulars turn and look when you walk through the door, but turned out fine. Very casual, paper plates/plastic ware, but the pizza was good. Service was also good, not super friendly, but to the point. We had to ask for a menu- you could easily be confused thinking it was only a bar- but a pretty good variety of bar food. Came here based on the great Yelp reviews that precede mine. Can't say I was disappointed, but really wasn't as impressed as previous reviewers. Ok, so this place is a place you might drive by constantly (except it's not on a very busy street) and never even notice. The term "dive bar" gets way overused on Yelp, to the point it almost insults true dives, but my guess is many 20 something Yelpers would classify this as a dive bar. I'll call it a friendly neighborhood bar. We went on a Friday evening and it was about 3/4 full. Noise level was pleasantly tolerable and the staff was friendly. Were I to live within stumbling distance, I could see myself punishing my liver here regularly. Speaking of which, they have a decent beer selection. Not great, but not bad. A little disappointing on the lack of local brews. I think they had two locals on tap. As for the food, well this is where I'm left kinda saying, "meh." Per a previous review I was excited to try the wings. They were good. Crisp with a nice flavor (buffalo) though they were a bit on the dry side. I ordered the philly cheese steak sandwhich (special for the day) and my wife got a cheese burger. The philly was good, not great. Just didn't have the flavor profile I prefer in a philly. When I asked my wife how the burger was, she said, "Its a burger." After trying a bite, her assessment was pretty accurate. Again, it was good, but nothing you'll find yourself craving during a mid-afternoon food day dream. The waffle fries were solid and the crinkle fries my wife ordered were surprisingly good. Surprising only because I typically don't care for crinkle fries. I'm one guy with my own tastes, and say this place is definitely worth a try. I love a good burger! I even have a top ten of Omaha list of great burgers. This was not one of them. I went with 3 other friends for a burgers and brew night. The Tavern had good reviews and I like a little pub joint. Parking is precarious as there is a pizza joint next door. The pizza place is adamant that you not park in their area or they will tow your car. So it limits parking. When we went inside it is definitely a good old boys bar. That's perfectly fine but getting service was a challenge. Half of us got water right away and the other half waited a good half hour! The waitress came over with menus and then didn't return for 20 minutes. We out in our order which she came back 15 minutes to clarity. We ordered drinks which came quickly. But then we waited. And waited. And waited. We saw the cook several times standing around eating and drinking a beer while we still had no food. After waiting more than an hour for food, we were about ready to leave when the waitress apologized and said she'd check on our meal?! She then brought out dishes slowly one at a time. When I said slowly like 5-7 minutes between each dish! And the last dish she brought the wrong dish and had to take it back and wait another 10 minutes for the correct dish. We usually hang out for burgers and brew for a couple hours talking. This time we had to just to eat our meal! I would not go here to eat. When we got the food it was good food but nothing spectacular and certainly not worth that kind of wait! read more

We went here as part of our burger tour around omaha. Someone recommended this place. We were waited on immediately and ordered drinks. As soon as our drinks arrived, we ordered our burgers. Two of us were splitting a mushroom burger and they split it for us! It was delicious, as were the waffle fries and onion rings. The meat:bun ratio was just perfect. Tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. If the review were solely about the food I would've given five stars. I had the beef philly wrap, which was absolutely delicious! My husband had a personal meat lovers pizza that I tried and it was pretty amazing as well. And the wings...wow, yummy! The service was, meh. As I said, it was a Friday night so they were pretty busy. We weren't greeted when we walked in and there were no places to sit right away so we just stood around awkwardly at first. The bartender/waitress that served us was ok. Not rude at all, but not overly friendly either. I'd definitely eat here again if I were in the area, but we probably wouldn't make a special trip. If I could negatively rate my experience I would. In fact, it was so bad, that this is my first yelp review. My friend and I just wanted a beer and some food. Instead we got sexually assaulted by an extremely over served regular. He was falling into my lap and inappropriately grabbing my friend and I. After asking him repeatedly to leave us alone I asked the bartender to get him away from us. She (short, blond bob hair style, mid 20's, raccoon eyeliner, black jumper) told me "oh, don't worry, I took his keys", and walked away. He continued and another regular got involved. This guy was big and jacked up. Probably describes himself "swoll" to his Bros. He proceeded to berate me and my friend, calling us lesbians and the "B" word and even the "C" word. Needless to say, things escalated into some sort of roid rage. He threatened throwing chairs at us and continued to yell obscenities. This went on for about 5 minutes, all while the staff was hiding behind the bar and siding with the regulars. No one did a thing. We hadn't even gotten our food yet. We were then pushed out of the bar by the regulars and charged for the food we never got. The bartender made excuses for her friends and told us "sorry" and that we need to leave!!!! Our experience was completely unprofessional. Many violations were made against the privilege of holding a liquor license. The staff is untrained and have no idea what they were doing. I asked another bartender a simply keno question and she had to get her friend. She obviously didn't go to keno kollege. And a gin and soda, is a gin and soda. Not a gin and sprite. I did contact the owner however, and he was nice enough to give us our money back and said he would look at the cameras and take proper action. Ordered delivery through DoorDash. Wings were great. My big problem: I ordered a fried buffalo chicken sandwich and received a buffalo chicken wrap. Would not be a huge deal except the wrap was stuffed with bacon and I don't eat pork. I passed the wrap along and hear it was delicious if you're bacon friendly. So all good, just not what I ordered.
