If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The owner was SO kind and very friendly upon arrival. The food was outstanding, one of the best sandwiches I have ever had AND it was all vegan!!! We also had to get a frosted sugar cookie and donut bc everything just looked too good to pass up. Not only is this place the cutest, we also had the kindest couple in all of Nebraska offer to share their table so we could sit down (which says a lot about the business and their amazing customers imo). We are from out of town but we will definitely be coming back to this place!

Vegan and gluten free friends run don't walk to this new restaurant in Benson! This was my first time trying Veg.Edible since it opened its store location and I am beyond impressed. The store itself has a few booths to sit at inside, but we choose to do takeout. Stacy, the owner, alongside her husband, Matt, have not only shown their love for what they do through their food, but also through their ability to bring delicious food to those with dietary restrictions. The entire menu is gluten free and vegan, so there was no worry about getting sick or modifying to your needs. I decided to try the smash burger with chz, and wow. If I hadn't know it was vegan, I would have never been able to tell. The burger was juicy and paired beautifully with the vegan mayo and toppings. This was one of the best burgers I've had in the area. The fries were also fresh cut and reminded me a lot of five guys fries, delicious! The cookie was perfectly chewy with the right amount of sweetness. As someone who is always looking for a place that has gluten free options that cater to my celiac needs, this restaurant has gone above and beyond my expectations. Everything from burgers, to salads, to cakes and cookies, there is many choices to choose from. It's super refreshing to look at a menu and know I can order anything off it, and not get sick while also being satisfied. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone regardless of their dietary needs. I definitely will be back for more!

Smash Burger - Single & fries

After strolling through a great Benson First Friday in November. We stopped in this new business, Veg.Edible; welcome to Benson! It's great to see that a new restaurant has opened in the former Baked After Dark & Wonton Jon's space. Veg.Edible was launching a limited soft-opening; which looked like it was going very well because it was busy but the staff was handling it well! The space does have three booths. I myself ordered the Smash Burger - single with fries. And, if I didn't already know it was a beyond burger with a gluten free bun, it would be very hard to tell. I can't wait to try some other menu items, like the tacos with either the soy beef, soy chicken or plant-based shrimp! If you want a vegan & gluten-free option in Omaha with a good price-point, try out Veg.Edible.

New addition to the Benson strip. We stopped in on Benson First Friday and they were doing good business. I was pleasantly surprised at the short wait time, with how busy they were and it being their first weekend. I tried the Big Matt Salad and absolutely loved it! The sesame croutons and the dressing were spot on and really helped make this a great meal. I look forward to trying more things on their menu. Welcome to neighborhood!

Amazing vegan food! I was in town for college graduations, and took the family out for a Mother's Day pop-up that Veg.Edible was having in Omaha. SO. MUCH. AMAZING. FOOD. It was served attended buffet style. Chick'n and waffles. Omelettes. Biscuits and gravy. And a lot of sweets -- scones, donuts, cookies, muffins, etc. Service was great. They even had vegan mocktails, which were good. If I lived in the area, I would subscribe to their mailing list and do any popups they offer. Just good stuff.

Had the Smashed Beyond Burger, I was fairly impressed. Pretty sure the grilled onions made a huge difference. They load up the hand cut fries. The staff by the way is outstanding. Even tried the Poppi drink. All around a good experience. (Even for a meat eater!)

Gluten free can be hit or miss. This was a TOTAL HIT. I was lucky enough to snag one of the last remaining items in the cooler at Karma Koffee and now I need to try EVERYTHING!! You honestly don't notice that it's gluten free at ALL. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. So delicious and so indulgent. Amazing! 10/10

This place taught me a thing or two about vegetables, which delighted all of our senses, and I highly recommend trying a variety of their small plates. This is worth a few minute detour. If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. My husband and I could have fought over it--it was that good! The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, and sat upon a sweet and spice infused puree called mahummara with crunchy pine nuts. The complexity of spices compelled us to try another bite, and then another... Roasted carrots are tender and sweet. Paired with cool yogurt and chili crunch, they ascend into another level of deliciousness. A tear of fresh bread across bits of remaining sauce, and then (not a minute sooner) "we are satiated, thank you!" and the server can take the plate. The restaurant is adjacent to a theater that shows unique offerings and they will sometimes coordinate events with menus. We liked the simple cafe style tables and openness. Ample parking is available in back.

TLDR: Place is amazing still…read more I first started going to Pitch back in 2012. I loved the chicken panini with truffle fries and a Tecate with the fixings. I'd also order a burger, yes, a burger at a pizza place, and it was still one of the best burgers I've had. I moved away in 2014. Fast forward 11 years to 2025, I'm back visiting Omaha and made sure to stop by Pitch. Consistency is key, and Pitch absolutely has it. The food was just as good, if not better, than I remembered. This time around, we ordered two meatballs with focaccia, truffle fries, a classic burger with avocado, bacon, white cheddar, and fries, Pitch's "VIP" smoked cheddar mac and cheese, a cheese pizza, a margherita pizza, and crème brûlée. The meatballs were tender and well-seasoned. A little ricotta would take them over the top, but they were excellent as-is. The focaccia was perfect for soaking up the tomato sauce. The truffle fries were outstanding. The truffle flavor wasn't overpowering or weak, just right, and the fries held up well without getting soggy. Crispy, well-balanced, and easy to keep going back for. I ordered the burger medium well. The patty was thick, juicy, and well-balanced with the toppings. The brioche bun made a difference and held together nicely without getting soggy. Easily a must-try. The smoked cheddar mac and cheese was rich and creamy with a smooth, velvety texture. The smoky flavor came through without overwhelming the dish. It's filling enough to be a main, but it worked perfectly as a side. We had to try the cheese pizza since it's the most basic and tells you a lot about a kitchen. The crust was soft, the sauce and cheese were well-balanced, and it was simply done right. The margherita pizza stood out with a good amount of fresh basil that added brightness. I prefer pizza with no flop, but even so, this held its own. Having had great pizza in New Jersey and New York, this definitely competes. For dessert, the crème brûlée leaned more toward vanilla, with a smooth custard and a nicely caramelized top. A great way to end the meal. To top it off, the service was superb and tied the entire experience together. I'll definitely make a point to stop by again the next time I'm in Omaha. Sorry I didn't take any pics of the food. I got too excited.

The decorated shortbread cookies are favorites for Christmas and Valentine's Day. The little rainbow cake slices are perfect for birthdays. I've yet to taste it, but got Nutella hand pies for valentines treats! The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the cream cheese frosting is lovely. They had a pistachio roll that looked amazing today, so I'll have to come back to try that. This location gets a little difficult with parking, so you may have to park a block or so away if it's a busy time (mornings and weekends). The flavor was good but it did have a slight burnt taste. A quick note: you order at the counter before sitting down. It's a mix of self-serve and sit-down service. You order at the counter, grab your own silverware, and seat yourself, but they bring your food and drinks out to you (other than water).
