Hi! we had a great meal at this establishment and the service from everyone was good. However the server with tattoos, did speak a little off colored to the woman cook in a way that came off racist and gave me a pit in my stomach. She didn't seem to respond or laugh in kind to him loudly proclaiming "bueno" in her face over and over. Prior got pretty upset at her for mistaking an order when he was also messing up. Of course being my first time here, I have no idea what their dynamic is, but as someone who is latina wanted to bring it to attention. I have seen Jojos in Benson a few dozens times before I actually stopped in for breakfast with a friend. It was not super busy and we were seated right away. I didn't see anything on the breakfast menu that blew me away. I opted for the turkey melt sandwich with fries, and a diet coke. I knew immediately when it was set down that it was not going to be crispy and I was right. It was flat and syrupy. I enjoye my sandwich the fries were okay. My friend got bacon eggs and a english muffin. the presentation was lacking but it is a diner. The atmosphere was choatic and loud. overall it was inexpensive and a-ok. read more

We decided to give Jojo's a try last week and I'm not sure we will return, for dinner at least (would like to try their breakfast). Upon entering, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were seated right away and the waitress was very attentive. I think she may have been newer because she had to continuously ask the cook questions regarding the menu. I ordered a burger (that was just okay) and fries (I thought they had really good fries). I also LOVED their ranch. My husband ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and there was quite literally no heat to be found. The breading had a very slight smoky flavor but it definitely left a lot to be desired. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese with fries. She enjoyed it. I'd love to see this restaurant make it, but they have a few things they need to tune up on. read more

Found myself in Benson after dropping off a dog for a grooming appointment and realized I was running on nothing but caffeine, so breakfast at Jojo's Diner it was! It was a weekday around 10:30 AM, so the vibe was relaxed and not too busy -- perfect for a mid-morning bite. They've got some great weekday specials, and I went for the one where you pick three items for $10 (plus coffee or juice included -- love that!). I chose pancakes, chorizo patties, and scrambled eggs, expecting a modest plate... but wow, the portions here are no joke. Three giant pancakes, two chorizo patties, and fluffy eggs later, I realized I'd be taking half of it home. The pancakes were classic and comforting -- nothing fancy, just really solid diner pancakes. The chorizo patties didn't have a ton of kick but were still good paired with a little syrup (don't judge me). My server was the only one working the floor, but she was super friendly and impressively efficient. All in all, Jojo's is the kind of place that reminds you why diners are such gems -- hearty food, fair prices, and a cozy, come-as-you-are atmosphere. The taste was great! We got DoorDash and maybe that's not their best. Everything is packed separate for the most part except the chicken fried chicken meal we got. Because everything is packed this way the crust on the chicken is pretty soggy from the hash browns and eggs. The taste was good but definitely would do dine in if we did it again. The giant cinnamon was not even edible. It was nice and brown on the outside and raw in the middle. It had a very funny taste that wasn't right You also got a tiny 1 ounce cup of buttery sugar icing. Not nearly enough to even have half the roll covered. Now the Nutella icing....that was amazing! We used some of that on the cinnamon roll. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my Patty O'Melty. A little sprinkle of finely diced raw onion was not what I was hoping for here. I was expecting that the "drunken onions" would be at least sautéed. Maybe I was supposed to be drunken to appreciate them. 2 patties, sprinkle of raw onion, no sauce, single cheese slice, rye bread. So...we got the patties, but coming up short on the "melt". Pretty dry. Fries were ok, but the problem is that they weren't salted, and this was a to-go order. No salt was included. The place looks cool, and was clean and inviting. My order was ready quickly. I'm giving 4 stars because I think this could have been better dine-in, or at least we could try to make it better. It was a pretty good price, burger + fries for $13. But it was not very tasty. We came in for our first "done in" experience recently, and I have to say, I was underwhelmed overall. We have another local breakfast spot we typically frequent, but we were lured away when I noticed JoJo's has chilaquiles on their menu. As a casual diner, I expected it to be used to having a few kids around, but the general vibe felt a little like "why are you here with children?" Please tell me other moms know what I mean? The wait wasn't bad, but our server didn't seem like he was stoked to be around that morning. The food itself was fine - the flavors on the Nashville hot waffle plate didn't seem to hit the usual bar, the chilaquiles felt more breakfast nacho-y than simmered, tender corn tortilla like I'm used to. Not to say there isn't decent food here but the experience we had was underwhelming. There seemed to be an issue with the food matching what the menu offered. Caesar salad didn't have grilled chicken or cheese, and they added tomatoes...which I picked off and the server clearly noticed but didn't acknowledge. They were out of fries at 5pm on a Saturday - the kiddos didn't mind though and did state they had the best tater tots to exist. Mac and cheese was not rotini pasta but rather elbow pasta, which can be forgiven but it was not very flavorful either. Pancakes offered whipped butter and seasonal preserves but did not receive those either, just a cup of maple syrup and packaged butter. Service was quick but not warm and inviting. Had to ask for multiple items like silverware and napkins, at one point our server had to "run across the street"?Restaurant was not busy, maybe two tables upon arrival. Food came out almost immediately after ordering which was great for our hungry bellies. Not sure what is to blame for these issues we encountered, maybe the cooks were not trained properly on plating and recipes or we came at an off time?? We stopped in for brunch at Jojo's as the menu looked like some interesting twists on traditional brunch dishes. The restaurant has a fun diner vibe which is perfect for breakfast. We ended up ordering a short rib hash, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and horchata pancakes. The horchata pancakes were absolutely killer. Both the Nashville hot chicken and the short rib hash badly needed salt as it seemed the cooks forgot to apply any at all. The short rib also unfortunately leaned slightly on the drier side, but it did have good flavor after salting. Our server was very nice, checked on us frequently and we were able to chat for a bit after our meal. Brother suggested we stop here for brunch while in the area. Glad we did! It was fabulous! Starting with no wait, followed by a wonderful waitress and food. I had the Chicken Parm sandwich, which was really good, the fries were cooked to perfection, crispy and soft in the middle. My brother had the Chicken fried steak with eggs, hashbrown and a pancake. We both dabbled in a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. We waited a bit for this but it was worth it! Definitely made fresh! Everything was hot and delicious. I was excited to get to Jojo's Diner in Omaha, Nebraska. My first diner in months, but also my first diner in Nebraska. Living on the west coast, it feels as if diners are fleeting moments, but I try to get to them when I can. We hit up Jojo's Diner on the way out. I wasn't terribly hungry, but I still wanted to get to a diner. There are three locations, and we opted for the location on Military Avenue because it was on our way to the airport. Jojo's Diner Atmosphere: The outside of Jojo's Diner doesn't scream diner. It's located on a main street and is walkable, but it's not a standalone building like you imagine most diners are. Is that bad? No. When you walk into Jojo's Diner, it looks like everything you imagine in a diner. There are brightly colored walls, retro tables, and booths. Plus, you can sit at the counter and watch them make meals. I always love an open layout where I can watch them cook. Jojo's Diner Food: Jojo's Diner's menu has almost anything you want in a diner. It's not a huge menu like some of the East Coast options, but there are plenty of good diner foods. I decided on the avocado toast and one of the salads. I started with one of the salads. I was surprised when it had ranch dressing. I'm not a huge ranch fan, so it wasn't my favorite salad. It had fried chicken, coconut shreds (interesting), lettuce and strawberries.The salad was fresh but ranch dressing was not great. The Avocado Toast was tasty. I've never had avocado toast at a diner before and why I gravitated towards it. It tasted good, and I was a big fan. I would definitely order it again. Service: The Service was ok. I was kind of disappointed that we arrived there and it took a bit for anyone to even acknowledge we were there (and they weren't busy). Once they did, our food was ready fast, so I can't complain about that. It seems like a lot of people have issues with the service here. :-( Cost: $ I am used to California prices, so the fact that I could walk with a salad and toast for $14 was a good deal to me. Most meals are around $10, which is how diners should be. Would I Come Back? I enjoyed my food at Jojo's Diner, and I would probably come back. Was it my favorite diner ever? Here I am at JoJo's again but this time in Benson instead of West O. The place is smaller than West O, but definitely has a diner vibe with the tiny black and white behive floor tiles and bright colors. I'd come here again because of the chairs-- so tall but not stools and easy to get up from. The floor is also great for pulling your chair up to the table. Bookguy discussed ordering chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken, with Brandon, the waiter, because he often finds the dish too dry. Brandon suggested the chicken and Bookguy was very pleased with it. He enthusiastically said he would get it again, high praise indeed. I wanted a vegan waffle with seitan, but they don't serve that anymore. I ended up with a patty o'melty, which is, of course, a patty melt. The sandwich had two beef patties along with mozzarella cheese, onions, and chow chow on rye. I don't know what chow chow is, but it didn't make any difference to me, because it seemed like a normal, but extra meaty patty melt. I only ate half, and a few of the French fries which seemed slightly under cooked. Brandon was an attentive waiter and brought my to go box for the 1/2 sandwich before I even asked. Came here for breakfast on a weekend morning, and sat at the bar. Ordered the breakfast burritos (fried) and some orange juice. The service was amazing, I believe it was the owner (or maybe just the manager). However, every other employee was either sitting down, or completely inattentive. The owner/manager had to keep disciplining her employees and it was a tad awkward for patrons. As I said, the service was great, but the food was rather atrocious. The burritos were extremely over-fried, almost like a gas station roller. I've been wanting to go for a while. Will probably try again sometime because there were several dishes I was thinking about getting today. Service was nice but slow. Took about 30min to get the small plate appetizers and about 20 more to get the main dishes. They were all pretty room temperature though when we got them. Doesn't make sense considering we were looking at them come up and it was within 2 minutes of the bell ding that our server brought it to us. Could have been because we were stuck back in the corner behind the juke box by the bathrooms. Not sure. Will definitely request other seating next time like up on the bar or in the main area instead. The brussels were good. The ones in the middle buried were hot still. The cinnamon roll was definitely huge and fresh. I ordered the brecky skillet and it had more veggies than pork belly but was nice. My oldest chose the steak and eggs skillet without mushrooms. It came out with mushrooms still but he just moved them out of the way. The steak was very good. No complaints from the youngest and his cheese omelette. Our aunt ordered the supa fried chicken and she seemed to enjoy it. Got full off the drumstick and a bit of the greens and mac&cheese. I really enjoyed JoJo's and I think this place is a great breakfast/brunch option in Omaha. I was very sad to see Mayne St. Market close but I think that JoJo's is a good alternative. Chicken Fried steak was great, definitely homemade and I really liked everything about it. 1 of the better ones in the city in my opinion. Nashville chicken waffle- was the star of the show in my eyes. Loved the sweet/spicy/salty combination and everything about this was excellent. The chicken was perfectly hot (not too much but still enough for a kick) and the waffle was super flavorful. Loaded hash browns- I would probably skip these. The ham/bacon were both excellent but there was too much of this cheese sauce on it that overwhelmed it all. If you like super cheesy potatoes, maybe these are for you. Overall, I had a great experience at JoJo's. I thought everything was modern enough to appeal to younger eaters but the core menu (chicken fried steak, etc) was still enough for those seeking regular diner food. Yesterday 1/1/2025 around 1:30pm my sister and I stopped in for a late lunch. We were greeted and offered a table but asked for a larger table but was denied although there was plenty of open tables. We were seated in the back hallway at a smaller table. We got our drink order. In the mean time several other tables were seated and their orders were taken. I had to get up and find someone to take our order. She was not professional, complained loudly and rudely to us that she is not a server and they had someone training with the server. This was not an appropriate response to a customer. Asking for service. It felt like we were an inconvenience. So I offered to pay for the soda we ordered and left without eating. Definitely need some customer service training for the servers in the Benson restaurant a half mile from where I live. This was very disappointing as I have had several other good experiences eating here and will think twice before returning. read more

I'll start off with Food was great! Definitely made up for the not great service. We came in and 5 tables were empty but dirty plates were on all of them, they probably just got done with a rush. But 10 minutes to clear off just 1 table? There was 2 groups of people that came in after us also waiting for a table to be cleared. Finally got sat down and we ordered kinda quick, then we got our food and had to wait 5 minutes for silverware. As you can see in the pictures my bowl definitely needed a fork but my friends meal she ate most without. Collecting the check also took a decent amount of time. Super cute little gem in Benson!! We stumbled upon Jojo's today and I am so glad we did! NACHO TOTS!!!! Man, seriously SO good. The tots were nice and crispy and the meat was seasoned amazingly. Super bold flavors but none of them over powered eachother. I was almost so full from sharing the nacho tots, but I had to have some of my main meal! Nestled on Military Street in Benson, the sign is hard to see if you're walking up. The place doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you. What a tasty all-day breakfast location!!! Wow. I went to Jojo's before a concert a couple months ago and it was awesome. I walked in and was greeted. I found a seat and gave the waitress my order. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger and it was awesome. The meat patties were big and seasoned and the cheese was nice and melted. Me and three others walked in at 11:30am on a Sunday, and we were able to seat ourselves. I had ordered bottomless mimosas, biscuits and gravy. For my main meal, I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with hash browns and two eggs over easy. The service was awful. We had parties that were seated after us & left before we had gotten all of our food or check. We had to keep flagging down our server to get drink refills, and at one point, we had to grab our own silverware, since we could not cut into our main courses. One of my friends food had gotten cold & he wasn't able to enjoy his food as much as he could have. Other staff had to step in due to a lack of attention from our server. My "bottomless" was only two glasses. I asked for a third, and the server determined that because it was too long of a wait, that I wouldn't want it. However, even though our one server was terrible, the food was fabulous! The portions were pretty large and good for the price. For the food that was brought out warm, we all enjoyed what we had, and there wasn't any leftovers. I would've given this place 5 stars, however, the service knocked my current review down significantly. I'm cautious to do a dine-in experience and may opt to do takeout in the future. read more

The chicken and waffle were both good, but I wasn't a fan of the preserves. It was too soggy and took away from the Nashville Hot flavor in my opinion. The food portions are quite generous, the pricing is very affordable, the ambiance is cool diner, but the service was the only thing I had an issue with. Tot nachos 5 stars The amount of meat you get on this is insane. Makes good a very nice breakfast, but just an Appy. Giant cinnamon roll 5 stars I'm not big into cinnamon lately, but this got my 5 stars because the texture was what dreams are made of. Super fluff, light and airy. It wasn't too sweet for me either which is often a problem. My only issue might be the size as I don't tend to eat much, but I'd still want to order this to share with friends to show off. Breakfast chimichanga 4 stars Everything about this was great, but my issue was it lacked sauce. If there was more on the side to add to the plate it would have gotten a 5. I didn't try the other items pictured as those were what my friends ordered. Everyone seemed happy with their meals and had no complaints. Service was not exceptionally friendly and the server didn't look happy serving us (she wasn't mean, she just seemed there), but aside from that it was pretty standard service.
