I really enjoyed JoJo's and I think this place is a great breakfast/brunch option in Omaha. I was very sad to see Mayne St. Market close but I think that JoJo's is a good alternative. Chicken Fried steak was great, definitely homemade and I really liked everything about it. 1 of the better ones in the city in my opinion. Nashville chicken waffle- was the star of the show in my eyes. Loved the sweet/spicy/salty combination and everything about this was excellent. The chicken was perfectly hot (not too much but still enough for a kick) and the waffle was super flavorful. Loaded hash browns- I would probably skip these. The ham/bacon were both excellent but there was too much of this cheese sauce on it that overwhelmed it all. If you like super cheesy potatoes, maybe these are for you. Overall, I had a great experience at JoJo's. I thought everything was modern enough to appeal to younger eaters but the core menu (chicken fried steak, etc) was still enough for those seeking regular diner food. We ventured out on a Sunday before errands to a new brunch spot. The food was absolutely amazing and a great price. It is a cool little Benson brunch spot with a great vibe and diner feel. We got coffee and water, no boozy brunch, but they offer it to anyone else who wants to have fun! I got the eggs benedict and it was the FIRST brunch spot who actually cooked the poached eggs correctly and their hollandaise sauce didn't break. It isn't your traditional eggs benny and I loved it. I would order it again and again! My fiance got one of their skillets and it was super filling but delicious. We shared the loaded hasbrowns and they're a must for your meal or to share. This little diner has been on my radar even before it opened its doors (I mean how can I not eat at a restaurant that shares my name?!). I finally decided to try it out one day, and I'm just bummed that I didn't eat here earlier! I was drawn to the Nashville Hot Waffle and was very pleased with how it tasted. The fried chicken was the perfect amount of spicy and crunchy, and it paired very well with the sweet peach marmalade on the waffle. Though a bit pricey, I really can't complain since it tasted so good! My friend got the Brecky Skillet and also really enjoyed her dish. Ordered the Hat Trick breakfast of hash browns, scrambled eggs, and a biscuit with gravy. Hubby got the steak and eggs. Then we ordered a cinnamon roll (rolls?) and was told they would come out first, but the actually came out last. But the cinnamon roll is three normal sized cinnamon rolls in one giant cinnamon roll. Hubby would prefer more icing but I like less over more so that was perfect for me. My Hat Trick was a good days base. This is the place to come for that after a night of partying. Little greasy for my tastes but a good hearty portion. The biscuit and gravy was the disappointment. It's not sausage gravy, but more of a chicken fried steak white gravy. Little taste and a little gritty for some reason. Hubby liked his steak and eggs, but commented on the grease factor as well. Coffee was dark and delicious. The music they play is a great blend of 80s and 90s, with the Mighty Bosstones and Prince booming. I'm torn between a 3 and 4 rating so I'm going to go 4. This place is great. My husband and I went kid free, and we got hot chicken and waffles (I got the vegan version). It was really good, and this place is one of the cleanest restaurants I've eaten at. A lemon citrus Panko topping and tons of cheese! Probably the best Mac and cheese I have ever had!! For dinner I ordered the "Hot Chix" Which is a delicious take on a spicy chicken sandwich. It uses Texas toast as the bread and has a flavorful mixed kale topping.. The Nashville style sauce on the chicken was so good!! We also got the "Patty o melty" and split both sandwiches. (I recommend doing this with your dinner guest so you can try more than one thing). This was the best patty melt I have ever had. The toppings and flavors mesh so well! I don't think they assign their wait staff to tables and instead you are just helped by whoever is passing by and unfortunately for us no one passed by until we flagged this person down. We watched twenty grub hub orders go out then were told that our food will be out soon as there were only 2 tickes in front of ours. At this point it had been an hour and we had gotten one drink each. By the time we got our food 3 other tables had left because they decided the wait was too long. Somehow other tables that had been seated after us and ended up getting their food before us and left before we even got our food. They have so many grub hub orders and the wait staff is unorganized. It's not that the food isn't coming out fast enough because I saw plenty of the GrubHub orders go out. Again the food is really good it's just a bummer that the customer service is pretty bad. If you want to be helped in a timely fashion maybe you should also order their GrubHub. I also left the same review with Google. read more

My husband and I checked out this place today and we loved it! Everything on the menu sounded great and it was honestly hard to choose what to eat. We both ended up eating the hot chicken and waffle. The chicken was spicy and the waffle was fully and I've never had waffles with marmalade but it tasted delicious. There was a white sweet sauce that mixed with the hot sauce. I am still not sure what it was but the sweet and spicy complemented each other so well. My husband and I will be back! I will try to eat something different next time but it may be hard! The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because our waiter wasn't super friendly or engaging. They didn't ask us how the food was or if we wanted anything more before bringing the check. We are from out of town, and we're excited to try the breakfast here, especially the Nashville Hot Seitan. While the service was polite and friendly, the food experience wasn't very good today. We ordered the Nashville Hot Seitan waffle, but received the Nashville Hot Waffle instead (which had hot fried chicken breast). They returned it and told us they would correct it. When they brought the Seitan back, it appeared they had removed the chicken and put the Seitan on the same waffle, and there were crumbs from the chicken still on the waffle. The Seitan was chewy and soft, and wasn't enjoyable. We told the server about it, and the manager kindly removed one of the 2 plates from our bill, and explained that the cooks working that day didn't have experience with that dish, and apologized. Also, they offer a couple vegan dishes, but had no non-dairy milk options, which I would recommend as a change for the future. The customer sitting next to us ordered a hamburger and had to ask for it to be fixed 3 separate times before finally getting what he asked for when the 4th burger was delivered. His order was simple, he wanted a burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. Each time it came with additional toppings that he did not want, like cheese and some other condiment he didn't ask for. I have not been here before, and I won't have another chance to try the place before I leave town. I am not sure if this was just a rough day, or if this is a problem they are working through. I want to emphasize that all of the employees were polite and friendly, and were very receptive when we brought up our issues. I do hope that they can work toward ensuring the dishes are cooked as advertised so the food experience will be more enjoyable, and I hope they can improve the accuracy of the service for the future. read more

Delicious, affordable, fast, and hot. What more could you ask for? The breakfast sandwich with bacon was perfection with soft English muffins, crispy, salty bacon, and fluffy eggs. Just the way I like it. The blue berry pancakes were the perfect size (not too big) and they didn't skimp on the berries. I also tried some of the chicken fried chicken which was crispy on the outside and tender inside. The gravy on top was delicious too. The Nashville hot seitan and waffle eaten by my guest wasn't their favorite with the seitan tasting doughy and incredibly spicy, but they loved the waffle. Seating in pretty limited inside so get here early or prepare for a little wait! We did the former so no issues getting a spot. If you haven't been yet, give Jojo's a shot! I have ordered several times from Jojo's and the food has always been lackluster at best. Today is the last time I ever order from them. I ordered from their website at around 9:30 AM. It tells me that my order will be ready at 10:19 AM. I get the the place at the time it was supposed to be ready. I call as I have requested curbside pickup. The 1st person who I talk to has no idea about the service they use "ChowNow". Another person gets on the phone - I give my information ...again... and she puts me on hold for a minute - 2 minutes tops - comes back and says "Can you come in and get it... I don't have time to bring it out" Mind you I had included a 20% tip on the order as I was expecting it to be brought out. Fine - I got in and grab it. I get home with my order less than 5 minutes from leaving the restaurant. It's COLD - feels like it has been sitting on the counter for a while. I got no alert that the order was ready sooner otherwise I would have gone and picked it up. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken. There's none of their "GRAAAAVY" and the chicken was over fried and rubbery. The scrambled eggs also over cooked. Hash browns are greasy and soggy. Think twice before ordering from them.
