I can't recommend this place enough! My friends throw me a mini birthday celebration at Cumbia and our experience is fantastic! The service, the ambience, the food are all so great. The highlight dish is definitely the chicken skewer. That was our favorite but the tacos are equally great as well. I had their mocktails and they are oh-so-great. The server is so accommodating and friendly. I will definitely revisit and recommend to try at least once here!

My Sunday with my daughter. We went to Cumbia for dinner first for both of us. I am pretty new to Caribbean food but I have had empanadas once before. These were beef and potatoes and served with a sauce. Their cheese bites were pretty big, made with panco and served with a slightly spicy strawberry jam. They were so good and more than enough for two to share. I had a savory margarita and the daughter had a liquid sunshine mocktail. It looked so good I ordered one with added tequila! The waiter was helpful and accommodating, especially with the added tequila. The atmosphere is beautiful. It's the perfect place to go before a show at the orpheum.

Girls Night Guide! First time here with a group of 5 girls, here's a general guideline & recommendation for an awesome start to your night. Order your round of cocktails and place an order for dirty chips, olives and manchego cheese, and guacamole. After your first round and starters order roughly the following, substituting for taste! 2x Coxinha Brazilian sandwhich Carnitas braves Patacones & ropa vieja Anticuchos de pollo Picanha tacos Empanadas de carne Empanadas de queso This ended up being the perfect amount of food for all of us! The service was great, quick and helpful on recs. I will say this is a place you want to come with a group and do something similar so you can try it all; these are tapas after all, not full plates!!

Let's start off with it was busy. Outside patio is not a place to eat. Drinks sangria-water down and mojito tasted like sugar water. Food "looked" ok tasteless. Olives and manchego good other 3 tapas no. The only glimmer was the hostess was on point. Should be at a high end place, server was trying. Will we go back no. Clean the bird poop up. We should not see that.

Went to Cumbia in downtown Omaha with friends and had an incredible night. Granville, the bartender, stole the show--some people say he's full of it, but honestly, he's full of energy and knowledge. Super engaging, fun to talk to, and he knows his craft. The drinks were phenomenal--bold flavors, perfect balance, and presentation that made you stop and take a picture. Between that and the friendly staff, you can tell they put care into everything they do. The vibe of the restaurant is unreal. The space is alive with lush greenery, warm lighting, and unique details everywhere you look. It's got that modern jungle-meets-lounge feel that makes you want to hang out all night. With the taste of the drinks and the atmosphere alone, I can't wait to go back and try the food. If it matches the bar experience, it's going to be a new favorite spot.

Cumbia is a regular place for my boyfriend and I because of their consistently amazing food, drinks, and service. We've been coming to Cumbia for the past two years for happy hour, dinner, or just drinks. While the menu has new items recently, every food item I've ever tried here has always been delicious. Personally, my favorites are the carnitas bravas, patacones & ropa vieja, and the ceviche. The bartenders here are great, always making a delicious drink. I love the caipirinha here, which can be hard to find elsewhere. The enigma is also always great, with a surprise drink always something new and delicious. The bartenders and servers are always amazing, super friendly and providing great recommendations. I love the location, super close to the Orpheum if you have a show there or want a close local place downtown not far from Old Market or Gene Leahy. I love the patio in warmer months. There's also plenty of bar seating and tables. With the plants and warm lighting, this is a fun and welcoming spot perfect for hanging out with friends or a date night. When people visit town I have brought them here and they have always been impressed. I love Cumbia and cannot recommend it enough!

We decided to go to Cumbia for date night since we hadn't been back since their latest reopening. We didn't realize they take reservations and were completely booked, but luckily we were able to snag two seats at the bar! We seriously enjoyed it! I went with a mojito. It was a little sweet for my taste, but probably just right for most people. My boyfriend had the espresso martini, and it was amazing! Watching them prep it with the aromatic bubble was a 10/10 moment. For tapas, we ordered the guac, the empanadas, and the picanha tacos. I know these are small plates, but the guac portion still felt a bit too small. That being said, everything we had was delicious! My favorite were the empanadas, they are a must. I'll definitely keep recommending Cumbia to others. The vibe is super unique and perfect for a fun night out.

Slightly off the beaten path from the central part of the Old Market, but a Latin themed hidden gem that is definitely worth a visit! When you first walk in the ambiance is welcoming and full of plants/greenery all around. It is not often I can find a pisco sour in the Midwest, so I was excited to see they had it on the menu along with tons of other creative cocktails and mocktails. Service and cocktail presentation from the bartender were top notch! My only regret is going here after dinner, so I did not get to try any of the food options this time around. Additionally, Cumbia does offer happy hour specials Monday-Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. I'm excited to return and try more items from their menu.

We had a good time at Cumbia, the vibes right when you walk in are great, music going, chatter from other tables, people just seemed to be having a genuinely good time. Service was also spectacular I didn't catch our servers name but they were great. Seemed to have a ton of tables in the small place along with seating people. Friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and checked on us a perfect amount not too much or too little. I could see it being a touch loud for some people but it didn't bother us at all. We also were seated close to a speaker. The place in general is small so when it's full it's just gonna be a little loud. Drinks, I had the enigma pour which is a bartenders choice. My drink was pink in color and almost tasted like a starburst with a touch of sour. I enjoyed it. My wife had Pinot noir which she said was good. For food we did the guacamole which was the star of the show for us. Had great flavor and thought the plantain chips were a great compliment to it. Next we enjoyed the empanadas the best. We got the beef ones the outside was fried to a perfect crisp and the meat inside had a nice seasoning. Next we got the shrimp ceviche, this wasn't our favorite take on ceviche seemed like it was swimming in the sauce it came with which was sorta an aioli of sorts with a sweet after taste. It was good just too much for us. We also didn't enjoy the tails still on the shrimp so you had to disassemble them to eat would've preferred them tailless and chopped to get the full effect and easier to eat with the plantain chips. Lastly the cheese bites they were solid not sure I'd order again. It did come with a lot of them and the sauces they came with were good, one more of a sweet jam and the other a red savory sauce with a very little kick of heat. I would suggest reservations as it is a small place. Especially if you're planning to go before an event nearby. Overall a nice experience and I'd come again.

My friends and I recently ended our Saturday evening out at Cumbia and it was my first time here - I didn't even know this place existed! Our friends are regulars here though and I'm so glad they introduced us to it! It wasn't very busy when we came (about an hour before the kitchen closed) and were seated immediately. Our server was kind and funny and the service was excellent! My husband and I shared an order of the queso empanadas and an order of the yucca cheese fritters and I got a caipirinha to wash it all down! The drink was excellent - simple but very tasty. I preferred the yucca app more than the empanadas as I think they had more flavor. Both apps were served with a side of a spiced strawberry dip, which was a little too sweet for my personal taste. Our friends told us they occasionally host salsa nights and I would love to go back for that and to try more of their drinks - you have the option to add a flavor to the classic caipirinha (like passionfruit)!

If you are looking to try something new, this is the place for you. This is such a cute place to go with friends and enjoy tapas style food. If you are extremely hungry you may need to order double of the items since they are smaller portions. What I loved about this place was the ambiance, they have spanish upbeat music playing in the background loud enough to hear it but not drown your conversation. Their cocktails were so fun to try, my favorite was the expresso martini...the best I've had so far! The staff is friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back again!

Cumbia was alright. The drinks were very good. I got the ceviche and it was alright, I'm not sure what I got to eat the ceviche with, but it was overly crunchy- kind of off putting. The pork belly was kind of fatty in the tacos and it had too much bbq sauce for our taste. I did like the empanadas though! The Yuquettes were also good. The vibe was CUTE inside, probably my favorite part of the whole night.

I really enjoy Cumbia. I've been in several times now and the drinks, food, and service are always great. The only thing that gets me and stops me from coming in more often, is the price point. I know costs have gone up, but 6 cubes of cheese for $8 and 7 tiny shrimp (in the shrimp cocktail) for $13 is a bit steep. The food IS very fresh delicious though, so I can justify it on occasion.

The space is super cute and bigger than I expected. I love that the windows open up and give it an indoor/outdoor vibe, and the tropical décor makes it feel fun and cozy at the same time. There's plenty of seating, and they can fit both small and big groups. We were a party of about eight and were still able to find a good spot together. Something I really liked is that they let you bring food from other places since they don't serve any, which is perfect if you want to hang out for a while. Their drink menu is huge, and the presentation is honestly amazing. When we first got there it was slow, but it definitely got busier as the night went on. We did struggle a bit when it was time to check out because all the servers were running around, so just be ready for that on a busy night. Overall, we had a great time. The drinks were really good, the vibe was great, and I'd definitely go back.

The seating was a bit of a challenge as we had to seat ourselves and we had a decently large group, so we had to wander around for a bit trying to find a spot, but we eventually did. I'll probably be back to try more drinks, but maybe when they are less busy!

Drinks are expensive for what you get. I tried their premium old-fashioned, and honestly, it was no better than a standard old-fashioned elsewhere. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing memorable--certainly not at that price point. Service was slow, which was surprising given that it was a quiet night. On top of that, since the bar is in the hotel basement, there's no cell service. The Wi-Fi password I was given didn't work, which made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall, it's a visually interesting space, but the combination of pricing, slow service, and connectivity issues made it not my favorite bar experience.

I made a reservation for five of us, and we were counting down the days like it was a holiday. When we arrived, we valet parked and made our way inside. The restaurant is a little tucked away. Head downstairs past the hotel lounge and you will find it. It kind of gives the place a secret, speakeasy vibe, which I loved. We were greeted warmly and led to a private dining room that was beyond charming. It featured a renovated poker table that now serves as a dining table. It was unique, intimate, and perfect for our group. We were offered still or sparkling water right away, and the service was attentive from start to finish. Joe, our server, was fantastic. He knew we were celebrating and made the experience feel personalized from the moment we sat down. He also knew I was there for the Beef Wellington. I had noted it in the reservation, which I highly recommend, because they only prepare a limited number each day. They saved one for me, and I am still dreaming about it. Since it was our first time, we went all out. We shared Caesar salads, a small chilled seafood tower, bourbon-glazed pork belly, and an artisanal cheese board. Everything was top-notch. I do not even eat seafood, but the tarragon sauce on the tower was absolutely incredible. I would put that on toast, fries, maybe even a shoe. It was that good. For mains, most of us ordered the New York strip steaks. My husband chose the Summer of Steak flight, and I finally got my hands on the Wellington. Every entrée was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. These were easily some of the best steaks we have had in Omaha. We also ordered four sides to share, which was just right for our group of five. The truffle fries were hot and crispy with a lemon aioli that I wanted to take home in a bottle. The asparagus was fresh and perfectly done. The mashed potatoes were whipped and fluffy. The aged cheddar mac and cheese was everything it should be--gooey, rich, and ridiculously satisfying. Naturally, we did not stop there. We sampled a few desserts: Baked Alaska, Coconut Torte, and the Blackstone Butterbrickle. All three were excellent. There was not a single bite left behind. The cocktails were also a standout. Some of the best margaritas we have had in a while. The bartender deserves his own round of applause. Yes, it was a splurge. With tip, the bill came to around $1,200. But it was a birthday, and as my dad always says, if the food and the experience were good, it was money well spent. And this absolutely was.
