They were struggling with the air conditioning toys, but what a great experience! The staff all had smiles and were hustling to keep guest served and stocked on drinks! Hubs ordered a Long Island Iced tea which was made strong and PERFECTLY! One of the best in Omaha. I opted for a double shot of Don Julio Anejo with lime and salt. Can't go wrong! The chips and fresh salsa came out before our water and we dove in! Hubs ordered the Fried Tilapia and it was a little overdone and dry. It's what happens when you are hustling in a kitchen. It was still seasoned deliciously and the macaroni salad and rice both had good flavor. I ordered two sushi rolls and they were perfection! So fresh! This place is like if corporate greed decided to run a restaurant. Truly one of the most obnoxious experiences of my life. To start, we walked in & it took roughly 20 minutes for us to be seated, it was also quite literally empty so it's not like it was packed or busy (this honestly should've been the first red flag but I tried to give it a chance.) once seated, the waitress didn't attend our table for another 10 minutes. Now the food was overall great even if it took forever to order, the shrimp nachos were fantastic, the queso was good, the sushi was great. But one thing we ordered tasted disgusting, it was a sting ray quesadilla. Now I wanted to try it as I've heard sting ray is very good. The quesadilla was awful. It was fishy in taste & dry, the "tortilla" had the texture of foam blocks in those ball pits, the cheese was over cooked around the edges & cold in the center. It was unappetizing to say the least. Once we finally grabbed our waitresses attention after YET another 20 more minutes of waiting for her to even notice us, I politely asked her if it can be remade or if I can exchange it for another dish. She said no as anything that's ordered is what's ordered & the restaurant has some type of policy that there's no remakes or anything unless they find it's their fault (it was lmfao.) she then proceeded to ask what was wrong, I let her know exactly what I just typed up above, she took the dish away & didn't return for another 10-15 minutes as she claimed she needed to speak with her manager. When she came back, she informed me that her manager said I could not exchange it since their ingredients were up to par and fresh. I never claimed the ingredients weren't fresh, I claimed that the quesadilla was made terribly & way overcooked & yet somehow undercooked in the center. She asked me if I still wanted it & when she brought it back to me, it was cold by this point. I said unless it gets remade as it's now cold & still overcooked, so she just ended up taking it away. Mind you I only took one single bite of it. Once the check came, I noticed the quesadilla was still on the bill & at full price.. I asked her if she can remove it or remake it for me since again, I literally only took one bite and there was a quality issue here. She said no, & that it's made up to their standard so their manager would not remove it from the bill. She then has the nerve to say "but you're more than welcome to order something else.. you just have to pay for that separately." Girl.. I was livid. We ended up just paying the bill & leaving at this point. If anyone's reading this, keep this in mind that if you do not like something or they make something that is overcooked or whatever the case may be, you cannot have it remade or exchange it for something else unless they find themselves at fault, which, of course they never will... cause they had every excuse in the book for anything I verbally expressed about the situation lol. Our first time at the Shadowlake location, it's nice! Loved the murals and neon lights. We've been to the original location off of 36th and this one was just as good. We always have to get the Camarones Roca, jumbo shrimp in bang bang sauce. Chefs kiss! The birria quesadilla was huge and was filled with tender beef and the consume for dipping. We also got the tostada especial and thought it would be a small portion, wrong! It was also huge, I'm not complaining! Filled with shrimp, scallops, octopus, avocado and more. I can't remember the name of the drink, but it was also very good with mezcal, anchovies and tamarind. Id definitely order it again. Great experience, service was quick and our server very nicer. We've been to their main location, but this was the first time visiting this location in Shadow Lake. Amongst the chaotic crowd in the vicinity, we were able to grab a table and order promptly. Our server was attentive, but not overly distracting. My margarita was great, and my Birria quesadilla was delicious. I was quite surprised with how large the quesadilla was, and it was loaded with meat and cheese. I do wish they offered some type of dip besides guacamole, even though I love guacamole. I think a good homemade salsa or cheese dip would be great to add to their menu. read more

My wife and I stop by for dinner Saturday night amongst the chaos in shadow Lake for their tree lighting ceremony. Our server was very friendly and provided great service even though she was very shy. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat in my fajita trio and ended up taking a ton home for leftovers. They served the fajitas with one large flour tortilla, but I wish they would offer smaller ones instead of having to pull apart the tortilla. I was shocked to see my sides included a mayonnaise/pasta salad and Mexican rice. I do wish they offered salsa or pico tableside, or I wish they offered something besides guacamole as an appetizer for some type of dip. Overall great experience, and I will definitely be ordering the fajitas again because they are delicious. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner not knowing what to expect. This restaurant opened in the old Mas Chingon location in Shadow Lake and we thought we would give it a try. This was a very pleasant experience for us. The service was amazing, the layout is still similar but a little more upscale. The food though, it was amazing. I ordered the ribeye because it sounded good thinking I would get the steak and a side of rice and beans or something similar. It came out as a whole platter and was absolutely delicious! My wife ordered Sushi which she was happy that she only ordered one roll because the portions here are huge! We will definitely be coming back to this location and bringing our kids. I went to Isla Del Mar on a date a couple weeks ago and it was a decent experience. We wanted to sit outside but we saw all of the tables were taken so they sat us inside. After we sat, we heard the host offer outside tables to the next few people that walked in. We would have loved to sit outside and maybe we should have asked but oh well. The waiters were all really nice and fun. We ordered a couple drinks and some sharable food and it came out pretty quickly. The ceviche was okay, but needed a tad bit more flavor. the birria fries were good. The drinks were good. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go back. read more

If you've not been to one of the Isla Del Mar locations do yourself a favor and go. The food was incredible (I had the shrimp in bang bang sauce and the amazing sangria)! My friend and I were here on a Saturday when they open thier doors at 11am. There was 2 other parties that was at the restaurant and it soon filled up later. Our server came to our table at around 11:30am take our drink orders. That is 30 minutes, of not being acknowledged. We ordered waters and two alcoholic drinks. My friend's drink was very strong and wanted to change it to a different one. The server refused to take the drink back and said she had to ask a manager if they are able to switch it to a different drink. She came back 10 mins later took our food order. My friend asked her if she was able to take the drink back for a different drink. The server said I don't know I haven't gotten a response back and walked away. Our food came out and she was able to get my friend a different drink. My friend asked her to take away the old drink (cause we need space on the table for the food) she walked away without a response. We finished our food and asked our server for the check. It took the server over 30 mins! To get us our check. The food was amazing we got Taco de asada, taco brirria and a few sushi rolls. The service on the other hand was the worst service I had ever experienced. Sitting there for 30 minutes before we were even served. The drink situation could've been handle better. There was so much push back for no reason at all. Our total time from being seated to finally getting our check was 2 hours. From being seated at 11am, our food coming out at 12am and finallt getting our check at 1pm. We weren't in any rush but we were there long enough to feel neglected by our server. Looks like a 3rd location has opened! This one is located next door to Old Navy in Shadow Lake. The space is smaller so don't axpect a large facility, but I think that changes the vibe in a good way. I must have gone when it had just opened. As of right now it's a sit where you want and a waiter will come to your table. I sat at the bar since I was solo, but it was busy alright! The service was some of the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. A Mexican restaurant without Dos Equis, our second round of margaritas never showed, we were charged for "Mexican Coke" that was clearly from the tap, chorizo dip served without chips, molcajete was served cold, our tables entrees were served separately from one another, the bussing station was next to our table as well as where the salsa came from, the kitchen clearly does not communicate, the restroom was disgusting, and the server continued to ask if were "okay" instead of asking if there was anything else he could bring or do. The entire team needs training and lessons in proper food handing and customer service. Disappointing and awful experience over all. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. read more
