Food was wonderful! I had 7 people in my party and not one person complained about their meal tasting bad! The burrito on chef's special was the only meal that was relatively bland tasting. All the food came out promptly as for a party as big as mine, it was wonderful. The reservation was for 1:30 and we were handed Brunch Menus which we loved! After ordering appetizers and enjoying those- we began to order our meals and were told that brunch had ended but that the server had asked for an extension and was granted after what seemed to be a struggle for the server as she had to plea with the kitchen staff the way it came off to us. Our food was served and my mother's sandwich did not come out as advertised with ingredient missing. The server was notified and reported back that the kitchen already allowed us to order "past" the time of brunch and are not going to fix it but will comp it. At the time to pay the bill - the comp was $2.00 off. Seemed very unreasonable and should've been corrected properly. The food service was prompt and our food came out very quickly. The wait service seemed very busy for the restaurant being at a dead time of the day and only a few other customers eating in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and tables were set on arrival. I would like to go back during the dinner hour to see how it compares. Overall- good food and clean restaurant. Only hiccup is not taking accountability properly for an easy food mistake and knowingly serving guests menus with time restrictions. I haven't been to (Jams) in years, and was so sad at having a bad experience when I stopped in last night! I worked at Jams for eight years, and was at this location for four of those years. Unfortunately, from what I have experienced and heard from others, it has definitely gone downhill. Our server did not do a great job, I saw her standing around a bit, so she was not too busy, but we struggled to get anything to our table. We ran out of water and never got anymore, as we didn't have an opportunity to ask. It took us quite a while to be checked on after our food was dropped, so we waited to get extra sauces that we needed. Overall, she did not do a good job at checking on us through our entire visit. The food here is still good. In my opinion, the coconut chicken salad has always been my favorite, but I was disappointed to see that it is much smaller than it used to be (I did order the full). The flavor of the dressing is still the same, and the ingredients are unchanged, but there was a much lesser ratio of toppings to lettuce this time around. The most disappointing part was that I asked for a dinner roll at the end of my visit, as I was still hungry. Our server took back my checkbook so that she could ring this in, and I was charged a dollar for the role. The menu still states that dinner rolls are available upon request, so this was disappointing. The salad should've been $20 for a full salad, as shrimp is the same price as the coconut chicken I substituted at four. I was charged $24 for the salad. Slight mistake mistakes like this are not the end of the world, but really do show the downhill direction. This restaurant has gone, unfortunately. I will stop in again, but only because I have a gift card to use up. Otherwise, I will check out the downtown location and hopefully have better luck there! read more

My sister was in town and wanted to celebrate her birthday here with a small group of family members. She made reservations and we got an 8 top right in the center of the restaurant. The music was soooo loud, it was hard to converse or maybe the speaker was right over our table. They played a lot of disco and 80s which I didn't mind. We got a selection of appetizers for the table to share. The onion rings were good but the bleu crab Rangoon egg rolls tasted a bit off (I've had them before at the Old Market location and they were excellent there). I ordered the Jams fish tacos with the beer-battered mahi and they were good but not fantastic. I got the vibe that everyone felt that way about their meals. The red chili rice tasted bland and the chipotle black beans had a smokey flavor but were not my favorite. Our server did check on us often and kept the drinks and water coming. The staff is so friendly and they are quick to offer suggestions. We tried the chicken nachos which were amazing. They are loaded with lots of toppings and the most delicious cilantro crema. The portions are average sized. We also go the ginger curry potstickers which we loved so much, we got a second order. The food is always good. See below. Watch out for the drink menu. I ordered a decent bourbon (2oz @ $12) - waiter came back and said they didn't have it. Went to the next one (2oz @ $14) - waiter came back with the same message. I went to look at the bar and found one in the same category that wasn't on the menu. Ordered that one. Ice on the side. Bill came - $22 + $3 for no ice. Completely wonky pricing based on everything they had listed. (The upcharge is common when they give you a larger pour, which they did not do). Irritating end to the dining experience. Short rib grilled cheese is always amazing. Parm chicken sandwich was surprisingly good. All of their salads are great. Their standard menu has a comprehensive selection which a good amount of flavor and complex combinations. So before you change the meal, be sure to check with the chef to make sure you aren't messing up your pallet. Portions - their portions are pretty substantial given the price point. Their appetizer order of fries for example is a health bowl that easily satisfies a table of 4 and sufficiently satisfied a table of 6. The chicken sandwich was pretty large. The chicken is about 10-18% larger than the bun it comes with. The side of vegetables is pretty sizable as well. Chicken sandwich - I had the chicken sandwich minus cheese and bacon. It was great. The flavoring is savory and sweet and overall a unique taste when compared to the normal/standard chicken sandwich. I highly recommend and would definitely get it again. Pro tip: this restaurant is associated with the JAMS in old market. However, this restaurant is significantly smaller. So if you go during peak hours be sure to get a reservation. Pro tip: there is more than sufficient parking. They are located in a strip mall, therefore it's a massive parking lot. read more

I had such an amazing meal at Jams last week. We ordered the crab rangoon egg rolls and they were HEAVENLY. They came with this delicious peanut sauce that I could have drank like water. They had a bit of a kick but I like spicy. We will definitely be ordering those again. I ordered a red sangria and it was just OK. Nothing fancy. I didn't taste any booze in it, it was filled with more ice than sangria and it was pretty pricey at $10. Hard pass on that one. The coconut chicken salad came highly recommended and that's what I ordered. It was absolutely perfect. One of the best salads Ive ever had and I can see why it was a best seller at Jams. It was out of this world! Slightly sweet sauce over the crispy chicken breast. Creamy avocados and hearty artichokes. Lightly dressed lettuce. Seriously. Perfect. Our waitress Madeline was so sweet and attentive. She immediately fixed a slight change on my order before I even saw it and checked on us regularly. Amazing experience from start to finish. My first at this location was great! We we're sat in the party room, so we missed a little of the hustle and bustle of the main room but had great service. I didn't catch out servers name, but he made excellent drink recommendations, including being very candid about certain wines that we should avoid. We were thrilled with our wine choice. Overall a pretty similar experience to the other location out west that I've been to. Decent food, but nothing that stood out as exceptional or remarkably tasty. I did dine with an a group of six people and service was slower than I expected. My food came out substantially later than the rest of the group. It's a busy lunchtime location so some delay is understandable, but it did result in a poorer experience for me. Jams has quite a diverse menu--salads, Mexican food, pub classics, Italian dishes, sandwiches, etc. This tends to worry me as a diner because it's really hard for a chef or a kitchen team to do all of these things really well. And my suspicion turned out correct: the execution of most dishes ordered in our group was fine but not great. I ordered a field salad. I asked the server how big it was and she said the large one is enormous and the smaller one is a pretty decent size. So I ordered the half size based on what the server recommended. I'm crushing hard on Jams. I initially became interested when I would go for the occasional work lunch which then led to casual dinners. What really pushed my obsession to the edge was when I discovered Thursday's happy hour went through the evening while the live music played. I went with friends, with my husband, with different friends - basically whomever I could wrangle up. All of that was pre-COVID of course. But I've re-discovered it over the past few months when we started feeling more comfortable going out. I've never had anything off the menu that I didn't love. My particular favorites are the Lobster Tacos, the Crab Cake Salad and the Bucatini with Meatballs. Although honestly, I mostly crave the appetizers. There is such a variety and they are all delicious. You name it, I love it. Hoisin-Coconut Chicken Tenders, Crispy Ravioli, Meatballs, Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Crab Rangoon Egg Rolls and Baked Scampi are our usual suspects. Our last few trips have been ordering 3-4 of these and noshing with a bottle of wine. My biggest love at a restaurant is a slightly dirty martini with blue cheese olives. I hate asking for it because some bartenders roll their eyes but at Jams, it's already on the menu - the Dodge Street Martini. If you can swing a happy hour, they have a great one. Some of those apps are up to $5 off, discounted drinks and 1/2 price bottles of wine. Monday - Friday from 3pm-6pm. I wish they had a patio, but oh well, it would probably be full all the time anyway. I like that you can make it a casual night or a classier night depending on your mood. There are high tops, low tops, banquet seating and the good old fashioned belly up to the bar seating. Servers have always been great and show some personality. It's a little on the pricier side but I think it's worth it for the quality and quantity of food and the overall experience. My only complaint would be that, tho the food was good, it is just so rich and decadent, I genuinely took a few bites and was pretty full. Came here with a large group of about 12 people after an event. Our server was friendly and very accommodating of our large group. We ordered crab rangoon and ravioli for the table. There was a lot liquid from the tomatoes, peppers & sauce on the sandwich, luckily the bread was able to hold its own & didn't crumble. However, there was nothing to prevent the insides from just falling out from between the slices. Alas, comes with the territory for sandwiches. My husband also ordered the same but got crab cake salad and an apology if he didn't like it. He didn't, but it was too late... Three of us had already dug in and he didn't want to wait. Came home and had to drink a gallon of water to quench the salt shakes from the crab cakes. Drinks were just as disappointing. Had to wait 15 minutes for drinks after ordering and they were wrong. The place was only half full too. Ordered a martini on the rocks in a rocks glass, got a martini glass, no ice. The short rib tacos are not like ur classic tacos. They are quite interesting but in a good way. Very great choice of amounts given. The salsa wasn't my favorite but it works with the dish. The crema is a nice adjustment as it gives it a fresh taste. The complementary dish of Mac and cheese is really good but I think there is a need for more spicy. My dad had the fish and chips which were great. I had the braised short rib grilled cheese which was very good as well.
