One of our new favorite places. Thanks to Fooligan Eats for putting Langdon's on our radar. My daughter is picky, but loves wings, so the initial review we watched showed the wings and we went that night and they were delicious. We've been back several times and everything has been good. I'd say a little better than typical bar food, nothing special, but always consistent and I've never had anything I didn't like. We are currently obsessed with the corn nuggets with honey dipping sauce. Service is always fast and friendly. It's a little out of the way for us, but we still end up here at least once a month. Came here for a late lunch because nothing else was open nearby, and NOT happy with the experience. Nobody came up to us when we entered and we had to look across up at the bar to figure out who to talk to. The server told us to pick a table. My fiance, brother and I all got burgers but they were very subpar. (Fiancé and I both are burger connoisseurs) Bun was not good quality. Lettuce and onion just kept on the side. Chicken patty was very very thin. Everything was just thrown on together. Taste was also just okay. We got side salads with the burgers, and they were just a bunch of (low quality iceberg) lettuce, shredded cheese, croutons and dressing. - We asked for no tomato. I also ordered a big size chicken salad and it was a big disappointment. That same lettuce, cheese, croutons, dressing.. But with a few pieces of grilled chicken on top. Food was average and the peanut butter burger is alright but bland. The service on the other hand is absolutely dreadful. I finished my whole meal before the person I was with even got hers. Every table had problems in the dining area. The table next to us finished their meals as well and took over 30 minutes for them to get their last order of food. Our server had no idea what he was doing; took 10 minutes to get 3 drinks and over a half hour to get part of our food order. Never once came and got us a refill in between that time or after we ate. We arrived around 1:30 pm on a Saturday. There were several people at the bar and a couple tables had people. We walked by the waitress and she said hi. We sat at the table. We waited 15 mins for her to come over and bring us menus and she said sorry, I didn't see you come in.....she gave us menus and we asked for water and the waited 10 mins for water and then she came back and said someone else is going to be our waitress. The next waitress was busy cleaning tables and after hearing this she stopped cleaning and asked us if we were ready to order and we ordered. $27 for 2 cheeseburger and fries. My wife and I got burgers here and they are so good we had to ask if they are famous for their burgers. Not recently but they have a new cook and these burgers may be the best we have had anywhere. Great meat cooked right. The fries are also amazing. And the onion petals are also great. I wanted to try a wrap which I've heard is great also but so glad I did a burger today. We will be back! Server was great. Food was okay. Our poor server was scared to talk to the bartenders because they're extremely rude & unprofessional. We told our server our margarita didn't have any alcohol in it, & the bartender came from behind the bar to see who we were & make eye contact but didn't say anything. Then continued to slam beer bottles around like a child. & when we came up to the bar she wouldn't even look at us. Man I love this place. Best fried pickles. Really good mozzarella sticks. They are salty. We all ordered Phillys. One with cream cheese, one chicken, and one with jalapeños. The phillys were quite good. Lots of meat. Good bread. The fries were good too. Also, their tea is real. And really good. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are good. We discovered Langdon's by chance when we were in Gretna dog sitting for friends. It was the only non-chain option we could find, so we figured why not? Man are we glad we stumbled in! Their char buff wings are the best we have ever had. Over the past few years, we have tried almost all the flavors, and have never been disappointed. Spicy garlic, sweltering, and teriyaki are our favorites. We had never tried anything but the wings before tonight (probably our 15th visit), and we have been missing out on their burgers. We had the mushroom Swiss (in addition to 12 wings, of course) and it was juicy and incredibly tasty! And the wings were just as awesome. With $2 domestic bottles and the same exceptional service we get time and time again, it was a perfect Friday night out while dog sitting once again. But it is worth the 30-minute drive from Council Bluffs that we have made occasionally when we couldn't help our wings cravings. read more

The food here wasn't bad, but the service terrible! We got here on a Tuesday at 830 PM (so not a traditionally busy dining time). There was a group of 8 of us. The 8 year old in our group had to wait 25 minutes for a root beer. We waited over an hour for our food to come out. When it did, not a single food order was correct. Someone ordered a beef philly, they brought out chicken, and when we said it wasn't beef, they took it back and brought out the same exact thing thinking we were too stupid to notice. One of my favorite things is trying new, locally owned places. My boyfriend and I stopped in here while working out in Gretna and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and a drink. It was Sunday, May 15. Lets start at the bar. My boyfriend ordered a bloody mary. The girl dug down deep into the cooler and pulled out a bloody mary mix that looked like it should have been thrown out a long time ago. She then looked at him and asked what was in a bloody mary. He changed his mind, b/c the mix looked so nasty and said he will take an orange beer and I said I'll have one too. She wondered around a bit and then told us they didn't have orange juice. We were very confused as there are a lot of bar drinks that require orange juice, but we moved on and decided to get a twisted tea. A big portion of the menu was pizza and she told us they weren't serving pizza that day, we were pretty disappointed but found something else either way. I got the BLT chicken wrap with onion rings and my boyfriend got the cream cheese philly. As we waited for our food to be cooked the we noticed a really sweaty guy with a cutoff shirt walking in and out of the kitchen. I had hoped he was maybe the dishwasher just for my sake. I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting and saw him walk over several time and spit his chew out in the trash can right in front of the sink. I also noticed a frantic waitress running around with her hair down. Just small things like that gross me out when eating at a restaurant. So when our food came I asked the bartender if that guy was the cook (he kept peeking in and out of the kitchen) and she said yes. So I then realized a guy that is super sweaty with no sleeves (all I can think is armpit hair and sweat) who I've seen coming in and out grabbing things from the bar, grabbing handles, and spitting in front of me was the guy cooking my food??? My boyfriend and I were starving, and tried to start eating but we were just too grossed out. Even worse, we asked the bartender how much the twisted teas were and she told us $2 and then came back to tell us they were actually $3.75, she had thought IT WAS ACTUALLY TEA! This girl had no idea what she was doing and shouldn't be behind the bar. worst place ever!!! i actually live in Gretna. It started out as a decent bar and grill, but over time it has just gone down hill. service has always been sub par. But during covid and ever since it has just been atrocious. and tonight was the ultimate in how bad the actual owner is!! As usually we got our orders to go, mostly bc of the below average the service is and it's just easier not to have to deal with it. My husband ordered the Langdon burger and fries. he wanted the onion petals, but last time they gve us these onion ring things instead and they were god awful, and didn't tell us they were subbing them out. i got the beef philly specifically asked that there NOT to be any jalepenos be put on. Now for those not familiar a philly has cheese on it. this one didn't have any.. so when i realized it, i called them back and asked if i could have another one made WITH cheese this time. . i took it back and i said how there not only was there no cheese but there IS jalepenos on here and i said multiple times NOT to put them on. the owner started on this very LOUD screaming rant,about how there wasn't any jalepeons and how i didn't know the difference between a green pepper and a jalepeno, about how he'd been cooking for 10 years, that there was cheese that it had just melted so much that you couldn't see it. and that yes, he would make me a new one, but i was no longer welcome there. i wasn't even the one screaming! he was.. i just told him i'd been cooking for over 45 yrs and that my tongue doesn't feel like it's on fire from green peppers, onions, or mushrooms. and if one has to dig around and search for melted cheeseon a cold sandwich he obviously didn't put enough on it, bc i still couldn't see it. and if this is how he was going to treat his long time customers i would be happy not to return to his business. but i would also be happy to let EVERYONE i came across to not come into his business as well. i'm generally not a "karen" and i really don't think i was tonight. but i do think that if a paying customer asks or something not to be put on a sandwich the business shouldn't put it on the customer could be allergic to it. and if one of the items that has an item that is customarily put on it and it isn't on it then maybe they should put it on! pretty simple really, especially at the prices they charge. which to be honest are a little high for a dive sports bar/pub. in a small town like Gretna.. just saying for a guy who's been runnin/ cooking for 10 years, he really has no customer service skills and has no clue how to treat people. i didn't want a refund or free sandwich. i just wanted it made right, no jalpenos and with cheese. not dificult. read more

Yet, by the time I went to the restroom and came back, a table of the 'men' next table of over, got a TV changed , yet not my table of three women was their priority. We went with some friends to Omaha for a few days...visited the outlet mall and looked for a place close by to eat. It ended up being the best food that we had on our entire trip. My friend had the "Jiffy" burger and loved it. I had a cream cheese jalapeño burger that was delicious. They have a great kids menu as well as a pool table. Good stuff! read more

I wanted to give this place one star, but for the sake of our poor waitress, I gave it one extra. The kitchen here was not doing her any favors. We saw the cook (wearing a cutoff t-shirt and more worried about talking to a table of people in the corner than getting orders correct) walking in and out of the kitchen. He looked awful and unprofessional. We only ordered one thing altered from what it said on the menu, and he was apparently more concerned with socializing than with looking at the ticket, which said not to put cheese or tomato in the wrap. Both of those things were in it. The sides we ordered were wrong, and the other waitress helping with our food was very blasé about it. Must happen often. We waited an inordinate amount of time for a replacement wrap (and sides), but we saw the cook again, coming out to talk to the same table and TOUCH ONE OF THEIR HAIR. I could see the chewing tobacco in his mouth and my only hope is that enough people complain to the health department about this. No one in a sleeveless shirt should EVER be in the kitchen in a restaurant, unless it results in them losing their job. read more

Langdon's is the easily the worst "bar" and "grill" in the Gretna area. The service is always poor and it's hard to say if that is because they are always understaffed, all of the servers (waiters, waitresses, bartenders, cooks) all have their friends in the place ("regulars" as it was put to me) and can't be bothered with other people, or just because the place is not equipped to serve the number of people they have tables to seat. Most likely it's a combination of all of these factors. Regardless, I have been here on three occasions. The first time I went late at night, just for drinks and I sat at the bar with a couple of people who accompanied me. The smell in the place was awful. We were told something had been spilled in the "kitchen" (the I use quotes because the "kitchen" is what a small room that looks like it used to be a broom closet) and the staff attempted to clean it up using undiluted bleach. While at the bar, we were basically ignored for more than 10 minutes, and 15 to 20 after we placed our orders. We had to be asked twice what it was we wanted. The bartender and the cook were busy talking to people they obviously knew at the other end of the counter. The second time I came in, I wanted to give the place another chance. That first time was late at night, and I thought "maybe they were just trying to wrap things up." Again, understaffed and the people that were there working were preoccupied with talking to each other about who knows what. I ordered a single beer, paid in cash and left. At least the whole place didn't smell like bleach this time, I guess. Chance number three was just the other day, around lunch time. My young son and I had just finished a long morning in the heat and we were very hungry. We walked inside and the place was what I would call 3/4 full (this doesn't take much), but there were obviously plenty of tables open. In attendance was a large table of bikers, a couple of folks at the bar and a table of what I was told was a "baseball team" (about 8, maybe 10 people). There were two waitresses, a bartender and a couple of people milling around, back in the kitchen. There's no sign that says you should wait to be seated, so my son and I started walking toward one of the many empty booths. One of the waitresses ran over and told us right away "it's going to be a 40 minute wait." I laughed a little and turned around to leave, but then stopped and asked her why. What I was told was that it was because of the "big tables" and "our kitchen is really, really small." We decided to go elsewhere. I won't be back a fourth time. Langdon's gets a single star because I can't get half of one. If you can't accommodate the number of potential customers in your place, you either need to expand your "really, really small" kitchen, or get rid of some of your tables. Less tables would mean less people to disappoint and less of a load for your wait staff. If you're in the Gretna area, there are other bars to go to. I'd recommend Spikers. read more
