This is an upscale restaurant, but the food and service don't quite live up to the ambiance or prices. We made a reservation for New Year's Eve, which probably affected service, but the restaurant should be prepared for this. They seemed to only have two servers for the entire restaurant, which is not small. Our waiter was friendly and nearly running from table to table, but he had a lot of ground to cover. I ordered the NYE special, which came with a cluster of snow crab legs, a salad, a scallop dish, and a dessert. The crab legs were good, but of course, messy. A wet wipe would have been nice. The salad came out without dressing, but was good once that was corrected, although small for the price. The scallops were served with Brussel's sprouts, pickled radish, and kohlrabi in a sauce. An interesting mix with good flavor, but it only came with four medium sized scallops for $39. My dining companion ordered the whiskey salmon, which had a nice glaze, and some interesting sides, but the fish itself wasn't great. Not very flavorful and a touch dry. Dessert ended up being some coconut chocolate balls and sugar cookies. Similar to the Christmas cookie plates that we've had on the counter for the past several weeks. The Russian tea cakes promised on the menu were nowhere to be seen. Pretty disappointing. We had some nice takeout from here last year and thought it would be even better in the restaurant. Sadly our visit didn't live up to expectations, but you can see what they're going for. It may have been an off night for them due to the holiday, but there are a lot of other restaurants in Omaha we'll check out before trying Sand Point again. read more

Wow, why did it take me so long to come here?! Sand Point is celebrating their second anniversary in October 2025. Owned by a trio of dedicated foodies, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and their attention to detail shows. The quality of food, the attentive service, and the fastidiously clean and modern interior makes for a welcoming cozy atmosphere. Vote voted best of Omaha 2025 all I can say is they truly deserve it! Located just north of Dodge at 108th St., the restaurant is conveniently situated with a large parking lot and plenty of space for easy access. The restaurant takes reservations, but I had no challenge arriving mid afternoon for my first visit. I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. I was presented a fabulous menu plus specials, which made a hard decision even harder. Offering New England fare, I cannot recall since my childhood on the East Coast, where I saw clam strips on the menu, let alone freshly prepared on site. Cooked to perfection and offering a delightful twist, as the clam strips were served with traditional tartar and Chinese sweet-and-sour sauce. I was offered a complementary taste of their cornbread, prepared by the in-house pastry chef, which was by far the best cornbread I've ever enjoyed. The Portuguese fish stew offered a fabulous Bouillabaisse with plenty of muscles, shrimp, and clams as well as chorizo to fill me up! A full bar, plenty of beers on tap, and a lovely wine list offers great pairings with all the menu items. With their anniversary celebration, there will be specials offered, keep your eyes peeled on their website for menu items and wine offerings through the end of the month. Just had the oysters at Sand Point from the raw bar. The oysters were from New Jersey and absolutely incredible! Fresh, juicy, and plump with that perfect briny sweetness. You can really taste how well they source and handle their seafood. The presentation was clean and simple, letting the oysters shine. Definitely one of the best spots in Omaha for fresh oysters and I will be back again as this saves me a trip to Boston to get such freshness. The Lobster Bisque was the star of the show! I also highly recommend the brussel sprouts. The opened faced tuna sandwich was pretty good. The fish tacos were dry. The service was amazing. My family whole family (6 adults and 4 kids) went to Sand Point for dinner before our Good Friday Church service and had a phenomenal experience! From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by friendly staff. Our waitress was very friendly and delightfully kind and patient with the kiddos! Great service from start to finish! The ambiance was super fun, feeling like an upscale New England waterside tavern. Loved the nautical themes and decor! The drink and food menu was great! Several of us got local beers and wines. Drink local! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Everyone loved each dish they got, but I am partial to what I got: the Haddock fish sandwich with Lobster Bisque as a $3 upcharge side. I was debating between this meal and one of the fancier entrees, but this was such a great deal because I got fish on the sandwich AND their phenomenal soup for less than the fancier entrees. A great deal! The lobster bisque was DIVINE. Everything was so so good, but the Lobster Bisque was the star of the show. It came with a shot of sherry on the side to pour over top before eating to really bring out the rich flavors. I could have had the bisque as my entire meal and been happy. It was incredible. The haddock sandwich was bursting with flavor and was lighter/fresher since it was made with cornmeal instead of flour fried. Yummy! I would definitely get this again! My spouse also did the soup/sandwich pair with the Reuben and clam chowder. He loved both, but we would recommend getting fish since that's their speciality. All the adults loved their food and the kids ate their entire meals with glee. Delicious, filling, and kid friendly! There are not many fresh raw seafood restaurants in Omaha and when I saw they had a promotion, I knew I had to try it. I came to try their Thursdays $1 oysters and they're very fresh. Most of the oysters served are from the east coast and the head chef came out to show and explain us about the oysters that were about to have. Had reservations last night (Saturday) at 6:30. We were seated right away, noticed it wasn't very busy. Service was a bit slow to start but we were with another couple so we were busy visiting. Got better from there, place started filling up, and our server was very helpful in recommending apps and dinner. Food came out quickly and everyone loved their food. Two of us had the Connecticut lobster roll (warm) and it had plenty of sweet lobster in the roll. Hubby had the Alfredo Capellini with shrimp and he raved about it. SIL had the open faced seared tuna and absolutely loved it. I also had the lobster bisque with the optional shot of sherry....soooo good! They also bring out their house cornbread and butter beforehand which is a bit thin and dense but still good. We enjoyed this location. We were drawn in by the deal on oysters (one that was doubtless designed to lure ME in). Successfully. Arriving, we found easy parking for an early dinner. The lot is large enough to accommodate the restaurant's seating, in my view. The restaurant and bar are both attractive. Environment was super quiet, given how early we were there. We chose to eat at the bar, as is often our custom. Seating was comfortable. Bartender was sociable and mixed well. Drinks were delicious. Dinner, too, was delicious. Our focus was the seafood, as this business' focus is New England fare. I got a half dozen oysters, and was quite pleased. Still impressed with the quality of oysters here in Omaha. The main courses were both delicious and of sufficient portions. Also quite prompt, which should be expected with only-seafood orders. Gluten sensitive girlie here! The service was great, the food was pretty good, but the prices seemed a little steep for the serving sizes. I got the open faces mahi mahi sandwhich that was on special. They made it gluten free for me with a bun instead of the regular bun. It was tasty, but very little fish. The aide was flash fried Brussel sprouts. They were the start of the meal for sure! We started the meal with a cup of lobster bisque and clam chowder. They came out cold, but the staff was great and got us new pipping hot bowls quickly. They were both really good! Recently my wife & I were in Omaha overnight as part of a road trip. Online, we came across Sand Point, located about 5 minutes from our hotel. We opted for an early (4:45) dinner and were probably the evening's first patrons. What a welcome! We were seated in a beautiful booth. Our server was very attentive, and over the course of the dinner she took the time to have several short conversations with us about the Omaha area and other things. At one point, the owner even came over to see how we were doing, and we talked a little about how she came to open a New England seafood restaurant in the heart of the Midwest - again, a very welcome exchange for two visitors to the area. And we can't forget to mention the food. We only ordered entrees: my wife had the salmon, I had the fish & chips (see photo) -- both just excellent. Entrees were hot, flavorful, ample portions. We visited Sand Point on a Wednesday night in early evening (after work). They are still quite a newly opened establishment, but are right by our house so we broke our rule of not popping in for a few months after a place opens. Sand Point had started as a food truck called Three Kids Lobster, that ran out of the Trucks and Taps food truck depot. We had always been intrigued by the food truck, but never had a chance to stop in when we had been at Trucks and Taps. So we were super excited they were opening a brick and mortar right down the street. The ambiance was very laid back with a lot of black, white, and grey decor touches, and then orange was what they chose for a pop of color throughout, and it works great. The service was excellent, and our server was very honest about what they liked and didn't love so much, making sure we were happy with what we ordered. We started with the beef tips with truffled corn sauce. It came out on a black plate looking so fancy. The steak tip bites were on the smaller side, but were so juicy and tasty, especially with the sauce they were paired with. I also ordered a cup of the Lobster Bisque, which came with a side of sherry that you can pour in or leave out. The soup itself was SUPER good and reminded me of J Gilbert's Maryland Crab Bisque. Very creamy with a touch of tang in the saltiness. I first had the bisque without the sherry added in, to have the pure experience, but then added the sherry to compare. It was still "fine" with the sherry, but it did add quite a bit of alcohol flavor, which I'm not a fan of. So if I ordered it again next time, I would not add the accompanying sherry (maybe just sip it by itself outside of my delicious bisque LOL) For my entree (though we shared both entrees), I ordered the Glazed Salmon, which was a salmon filet with a rosemary maple glaze. It was a HUGE cut of salmon, which is normally a good thing, but the large nature of the filet made it so that the sauce didn't get to the middle/bottom and only sat on top - so the rest of the non-sauced areas were a tad dry. My salmon came with a side of roasted rainbow carrots, and was served on a bed of rice pilaf. The pilaf was a little sweet, maybe because the maple glaze of the salmon kind of seeped down into it. The rainbow carrots were stubby little chunks, and were good, but nothing to write home about. My husband had the Lobster Risotto. When it came out, the size of it looked a little on the small side, but it had a LOT of of lobster chunks in it so I think that is where the cost comes in, not because of the portion size. Taste-wise, it was great, and definitely lived up to the promise of being heavy on the lobster. For dessert, our server recommended, a Fluffernutter, which wasn't on the normal menu. It was toasted, super-soft bread with warm peanut butter and marshmallow spread in the middle. It was really tasty and deceptively simple. Overall, I think they have a few very small kinks to work out on the menu, but the service, location, and quality were definitely there! We will for sure be back to try the Lobster Roll and the other desserts! read more

Was so looking forward to trying Sand Point as I love lobster rolls. Unfortunately, was disappointed overall, because of a few misses, but I understand they've been open less than two weeks, so will definitely try again in the future. I got an espresso martini to drink, overall wasn't my favorite, a little too strong, but did foam up nicely. I ordered the Connecticut style lobster, roll, and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque had good flavor overall and did come with a shot of Sherry to add if you so chose. My lobster roll sadly came out cold, not a Maine style on accident, was more of a was warm, and had been sitting there a while. The lobster was unfortunately very dry as well. My husband ordered the crabcake sandwich and lobster mac & cheese. He was actually served the Ahi tuna sandwich instead, however, he really enjoyed it. The lobster mac & cheese did lack flavor overall, but was really creamy. Our server was very attentive, and there was a lot of friendly waitstaff. I am just gonna start with this. GET THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS!!! We had a reservation and expected it to be jammin. It was not, and that was just fine with us. We were seated immediately (at a very wobbly table) by a super helpful lady that quickly returned with water. The booth we opted for was clean and the table was too. It only took our server a few moments to arrive to take our drink order. Either she was super sleepy or super high and it showed. She had no idea of the drink choices, especially the beers on tap. I chose a beer in a can and asked for a glass, my wife chose a beer in a bottle and asked for a glass as well. The server returned with 2 glasses and my beer and then read off the drink list. I ordered the Fried clams and asked for the wife's beer. It took a bit, but the beer arrived with the clams. The fried clams are a good sized dish, the breading is good and there are fried clams in there. I promise. The tarter sauce that comes with the clams tastes good, real fresh tasting. I was hoping there were a few specials, but our server wasn't able to tell us about them. I ordered the Flank steak, Rare. I asked if the cous cous could be subbed with the Brussel Sprouts and was told, Absolutely. I also chose to add shrimp to my plate. The lobster risotto was the wife's choice. We did not wait long at all for our meals. The flank steak was prepared perfectly for my liking and the mustard sauce, shrimp and the cippolini onions were delicious. The Brussel sprouts were to die for, simply amazing. So good, I can not speak more highly of them. Smashing good. The risotto was a good sized portion, crazy rich, super good with a lot of lobster. The small lobster portion on the top was a bummer, It was well over cooked and tasted old and dry. Our server was sleepy, but offered us dessert and again she needed to read from a menu once she fetched one. We got the Blueberry pie and the Lemon panna cotta. Holy crap the panna cotta was fantastic. It had a great texture and just full of the lemon flavor that I love. The pie center was good, lots of blueberries. The crust of the mini pie was almost hard. We were immediately greeted (and seated!) in their lovely space located in the corner of a strip mall just North of 114th and Dodge. Our server was amazing. She gave us wonderful suggestions from their HH menu ($2 off drinks and select appetizers) and helped us pick out options that would fit our appetites. We tried their truffle fries as an appetizer. They came out perfectly light and crispy and were a huge favorite. My husband ordered the fish and chips, and while it was a delicious plate, we still fought over the truffle fries. The fish was light, golden, and crisp and served with house aioli, target sauce, and coleslaw. I ordered the clam chowder. If you're a person who likes their soup vegetables to be cooked until fully soft (or a tad mushy), this may not be the soup for you. However, if you're like me and you like them with a bit of body and crispness, then this soup is a perfect choice! The cream, clams, and al dente vegetables all came together to create a fresh chowder that ranks among my favorite soups in Omaha. The owner stopped several times to check in on us, and share her story. We told her that we would happily return to try more items (I'll probably still get a cup of chowder). Late lunch with friends. We tried the shrimp cocktail and truffle fries for appetizers, both were really good. Main dishes ordered: Crab Cakes--good, not great. Not served hot enough and not much sauce. Lobster Roll warm--good, not great. Nothing special. Lobster Risotto Balls--very yummy. Lobster Bisque--AMAZING!!! But don't expect lumps of lobster. And ADD the Sherry! Favorite of the table. Bread Pudding--not a fan at all. Dry, seemed burnt, served room temp with a small squirt of whipped cream. Won't do that again. I will start with the ambiance. The restaurant itself was extremely clean, and the decor was very east coast fishing town. The service was absolutely amazing. It was a little slow to get seated. But it was also the first Friday of lent and the restaurant was packed. We were here for a family birthday so I will give the brief food reviews everyone had: The salmon was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. It was the perfect texture and not dry at all (most places we've had salmon somehow overcook it even slightly) Tuna open faced sandwich was tender with a perfect sear. There was no chewiness or toughness like I have read in other reviews. It was very good. Fried lobster tails were again perfectly cooked and seasoned. Really was impressed that they were not rubbery or chewy at all. Perfect tenderness. Clam strips were clam strips . They were very good, tender and very easy to crush through 2 plates of them. The lobster risotto was by far the best dish of the night. Perfectly cooked risotto with a base of what I believe is their lobster bisque which is a rich delicious base! Great presentation with the big lobster claw. Crab cakes were seared to perfection and a great size. We really enjoyed this appetizer as well! The only negative per se was the lobster rolls. The bread itself was buttered and toasted to perfection with great seasoning. Like many of the other reviews I wish there was more lobster on the roll itself. I would be more than happy to have an option for upcharge to double the amount of lobster. Another thing I would love to see for the Connecticut roll would be to have an offering of their brown seasoned butter on the side to add some more flavor (I'm sure it didn't have more because it would've made the roll soggy but I wish the dish had more flavor to it which I think could be had with some added butter on the side that could be optionally used. We had a bowl of lobster bisque we dunked a bite it and it made the flavor pop). Outside of this the lobster was cooked to perfection and it really was a good dish. All in all 5/5. I can't knock them for the amount of lobster on the roll. It was a significant amount based on the current market cost for lobster. The decor is New England/coastal inspired but they have a TON of TVs in the place which gives sports bar vibes...it's not cohesive. Timing of food and drinks also need work. 3 of us got our drinks after appetizers, 3 received the orders quickly. And our food came out at 3 separate times (we were a party of 8). The winner was the lobster bisque, everyone raved but the other entrees were fairly average. I've spent a lot of time on Cape Cod and was hoping I would love this restaurant. Sadly, it really falls short. The items on the menu sound familiar but did not taste like east coast dishes. The French onion soup tasted of nothing but salt and fish sauce-no onion flavor. My husbands clam chowder was pink and tasted unusual- maybe the chive oil on top? I also got fish and chips which looks like 3 big pieces of cod but each piece was 1/2 breading. The fish was tough and chewy. Our booth was comfortable, the service was excellent. Were very disappointed from the start. I made a reservation and there was no line but a 15 minute wait before anyone noticed us. I started with a cocktail (Elder Cran Bliss) which was one of the tiniest drinks I have had for $14. My friend had her usual vodka/tonic which was fine in a regular. We shared the crab cakes which were good. I had the Lobster roll for my entree which was very lackluster- lobster in a hoagie (boring). My friend chose the salmon which she said was great! As a native of New England unfortunately this restaurant failed. They were short staff so this fully impacted everything in our dinning experience. Our server was overwhelmed and did not pay attention to details as a server should. He missed every step providing good service. We ordered appetizers, soup and main courses . 5 New England chowder soups were ordered. We received two had to ask for the other three which came when two people finish their. The soup had a burnt taste to it, which ruined the soup. Then came the main course and before the appetizers. Three out of the five main courses were either cold or incorrect and had to be sent back. The 3 sides of macaroni and cheese were a hint over room temperature. One was Lobster which only had a few little pieces in it. Not worth it. Seared Tuna was not tender. The server constantly stated that they were in transition with the menu when we wanted to order a food item. How about letting the customer know what you were out of right away. The idea of having a New England flare restaurant in Omaha is a great idea, but you have to find the right chef to make it work. Baked Cod would be a great add on to your new menu and buy real steamers. Just had dinner with family and everything was delicious. The lobster bisque didn't have chunks of lobster but was creamy and delicious and came with a shot of brandy for you too add as you like. I also got the Parmesan truffle fries and they were super crispy (not burnt) and delicious. My family all got lobster rolls, both types and they all cleared their plates. A note though about the rainbow carrot side, it's literally like 4 slivers of carrot the diameter and length of a pencil. He said they were delicious though haha read more

We waited a long time to get seated. There were not busy, only 3 tables occupied. We ordered and I only got half my order. We had to ask twice for the drinks we ordered. When I received my brussels sprouts they were cold. I asked if I could have a little parmesan cheese for them. I was told it is a vegan dish. I asked if they could still bring some and was told no. With getting our food and drinks all wrong, you would think they would try to be more service friendly. I have never been to a restaurant that was this unaccommodating. Will not go back. read more

We had a very nice dinner last night at Sand Point last evening. I had lobster bisque with a small portion of sherry that really made the already luxurious taste even more wonderful! The spring salad came with a wonderful blueberry balsamic infused vinaigrette and toasted almonds. it was delish! Last, i finished with custard with a chocolate ganache that was so smooth and tasty. Service was with Sarah and Sarah was wonderful to talk with, and an obvious foodie too! can't wait to come back and dine... Will try the lobster risotto dish next time! read more
