It was alright, but was cold when I got it home, so maybe the container they put it in doesn't retain heat so well. Basic Mac and cheese with a tiny bit of pulled pork on top and bbq sauce. If you couldn't tell, I ordered a few side things in case the sandwich was gross. I also grabbed the Broccoli Cheese soup. Now, when it comes to broccoli cheese soups, the one I measure them all against is the Panera one that comes in a bread bowl. And this was nothing compared to that. Kind of bland and also cold. Now I know you're saying "couldn't you just heat up these cold items?" And to that I say "I shouldn't have to do that, when I literally live a block from the store!" The one bright spot was that the cookies I ordered I ordered were actually pretty good - soft, flavorful, and pretty inexpensive. I would get those again, but not much else from Pickleman's.

Even with the onslaught of mayo that I added to this sandwich, it was still somehow very dry in the end. I think it's because they put WAY too much meat on the sandwich (which is hand cut on a slicer, and I do appreciate that). But the absurd amount of meat just soaked up all the toppings and made it dry and unappetizing. My husband got the tuna salad sandwich, and that was actually pretty good (he gave me half of his since I didn't like mine at all). It did have some flavor and wasn't super dry like mine. So because his sandwich was good, I am upgrading my review from a two star to a three. Overall, I would say to skip Jersey Mike's if you're not a fan of pretty basic/bland sandwiches. If you are a fan of those, then Jersey Mike's might be for you, and that's ok.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at PepperJax Grill today--especially as a first-time customer. Before ordering, I specifically asked the cook about cross-contamination between beef and chicken. I noticed both were being prepared on the same grill using the same utensils, so I wanted to be sure it was safe. I was told there was no risk and that the spatula hadn't been used for beef recently. I made it very clear that I have a red meat allergy, which I've had for nearly 11 years. I was reassured that my food would not contain any beef. Unfortunately, after returning to my hotel and checking my meal, I found red meat mixed in with my food. This is not just disappointing--it's a serious food safety concern. When a customer communicates an allergy, it should be taken with the highest level of care and honesty. Situations like this could have severe health consequences. I strongly urge better food safety practices, clearer procedures to prevent cross-contamination, and more thorough employee training. Customers should be able to trust what they're being told--especially when it comes to allergens. read more

Bookguy really liked the flavor of his sandwich; it had a sweetness from the honey ham but also included turkey, roast beef, provolone cheese, and lettuce. He didn't like the soup that well, it was very thin, with not much flavor, but said the sandwich was good enough to get again. He would have liked it to be a bit hotter. The menu has a lot of options, so I predict a second visit.
