It's my 3rd time going to Salted Edge, and I keep getting more and more impressed with it. It's located right outside of Omaha on a lake. Pretty difficult to get a reservation on the weekend unless you think ahead but they also have a bar with open seating if you want to go that route which is what I did. The restaurant itself has an outdoor patio with impeccable views of the lake. Perfect for a night out with friends or a date night. This time I got wagyu bolognese, lobster bisque, honey cornbread, and wagyu sliders. The wagyu sliders were so moist and cooked to perfection. They're paired well with an aioli that's gives it a little flair. The highlight of the show was the Wagyu Bolognese. I often struggle with pasta being too heavy of a dish but this one was perfect. The pasta was very tender and was clearly homemade which was bonus points for me. Bar service was great and I've never had any complaints. Can't wait to be back for more here soon! read more

My friend treated me to Salted Edge for my 40th birthday. We started with a few drinks, which were all fancy and delicious. For our meals, I ordered the Wagyu Bolognese ($30), and my friend had the Braised Short Rib ($39). We also shared the Herb Butter Buns ($8), which were fabulous--hot, soft, and served with whipped butter and flaked sea salt. Pure perfection. Unfortunately, the entrees were disappointing. Salted Edge is definitely more of a "treat" for us given the price, and we were both excited to try Chef Joel Hassanali's creations. With his background--growing up in Trinidad, working in his parents' Caribbean restaurant, and training under world-renowned chefs in NYC--we were expecting bold flavors and spice. Instead, both dishes were surprisingly bland. Her short rib, which comes with a jalapeño potato cake, Bloomsdale creamy spinach, and horseradish crumble, lacked the punch we were hoping for. The ambiance is lovely, the staff attentive and polished, and everything looks beautiful. The pasta was freshly made, the meat tender, and the presentation impressive. My husband, daughter and I had an amazing dinner at Salted Edge right from the beginning. All the food was cooked to perfection, we had the 16 oz dryer aged prime ribeye, lobster Mac and cheese, and the French onion soup. My daughter had the pizza from the salty kids menu. Food was hot and the wait was approximately 5-10 minutes for the appetizers and cocktails. Our entree arrived shortly after, they were freshly made. We went for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. We shared the deviled eggs. I had the short rib hash skillet which was perfect. My dad said it was the best chicken and waffles he had ever had! We have been wanting to try Salted Edge for a while, and we finally got around to it! To start, the location is very nice. Everything is so clean and bright, and the service from everyone from the host to our server was fantastic. We started with the bread board and Brussels. Honestly, these are both must haves in my book! The bread seemed pricey, but you get a ton of it along with several unique and delicious butters. The Brussels sat on a bed of apples and had an incredible peanut sauce on them. My burger and fries were very good. My husband had the short rib. We came back for Valentine's Day and man they did not disappoint! They have a deal for a Prixe fixe menu and it was perfection. Out of the 3 apps we chose the short rib aranchini and cacio e pepe. Shared a 32oz porter house steak with crab legs, potato puree and carrots as sides and chose their crème brûlée as our dessert. It also came with a chefs app and a prosecco. Dinner at the salted edge was just as good as brunch and just as abundant... If you want to try all the things, like I do, I would recommend taking a good dining companion who is willing to share because we had all the breads and all the things and also all the leftovers! If you're planning to dine at sunset, maybe consider where you are seated because there can be a lot of light coming in through the windows but also apparently the outdoor experience is great for sunset though I haven't experienced that yet myself. I really enjoy this place. The service presentation is solid. Wait staff seems to have a handle on the menu and ingredients. They do a good job of talking about menu changes and upcoming culinary changes. The bread plate is a must! A creative variety of baked items including flavorful butters. I've been about a half dozen times and there's no loser on the menu from what I've experienced. Plating creativity and portions are solid. If the weather is nice I suggest trying to sit outside. This is a great happy hour place! HH runs Tue-Fri 4-6 pm. We arrived at 4:30 and were they're only customers. It was a windy warmish fall day but decided to sit outside on the patio. The patio is amazing! Glass windbreak panels block most of the wind and the 2 large gas firepits and several large portable heaters made sitting on the couches so cozy. The view of Westshores lake can't be beat. We chose to have the house wine but there is a tempting list of cocktails to try. We didn't try any food this time and thisisn't your typical bar food menu either. We have eaten dinner here before and it was fantastic so I'm sure these appetizers are nothing less. We left at 5:30 and the bar was pretty busy which was good to see. IMO this is one of the best happy hours with a great view. Will be back soon! read more

I went to Salted Edge for my 22nd birthday! They gave me a card with happy birthday written on it and free donuts at the end (totally forgot to take photo) :( Our waiter was so sweet and they give you warm towels before you eat which I think is awesome. Although the Salted Edge is considered a pretty far drive from where I live in Omaha, I would say that it was worth trying at least once! The restaurant itself is very clean and it's nice how it's right by the lake. The food was definitely pricey, so me and my boyfriend just split a pizza! We got the hot honey pepperoni pizza and truffle fries (pictures included). Both were pretty good and it filled us up. The food did take a little longer to come out, but I won't hold this against the restaurant since it was super busy. Our server was also very nice and stopped by a few times to check on us while we waited for our food. The only thing is we had reservations for 7:30 but we weren't able to be seated until a little past 8:00 which is why I took a star off. Service was inattentive and seemed like we were a mild inconvenience, the brunch bread duo was pretty underwhelming as well, the monkey bread was good but a little dry, the breakfast pizza was the star of the show and was well done but other than that I don't think I'll come back for brunch. I expected significantly better service as I've gotten at dinner service and was touting how wonderful it was to my guest and felt like I may have disappointed them. I have been here twice once for a friend birthday and recently for a random late lunch date. The location is beautiful I love the modern minimalist look the location has. Let's not forgot about the beautiful water front view and fire pits that outside for outside sitting as well. Getting to the food I'm very simple when it comes to food. The hot honey pepperoni pizza is my favorite. I also order a side of the devil egg appetizer and a French 75 drink to wash it down. My waiter was very polite and attentive. Starting with the service, this was top-notch, everyone was super helpful and professional. We always had someone come and check on us every 10 minutes. The ambiance is great, you can come here for a date night but also to catch up with a friend. The food was very good. Not in pictures but I also had the wagu pasta and it was to die for, my only complain about the pasta was that the portion felt too small. I'm not sure if I was starving, or just so excited to be at Salted Edge for dinner that I didn't take many pictures, but believe me -- there were many delights! We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation (and you absolutely should make a weekend reservation at least two weeks in advance), so we were seated at the bar while we waited. It was in the bar I got my first shudder that this might be a very expensive evening -- cocktails at $19. I guess I don't do fine dining enough? That said, all drinks were strong, fun and very tasty: a berry shrub, a chocolate martini and a browned butter manhattan. Called to dinner, we started with a charcuterie tray. Our wonderful server, Jeff, inquired for me about the possibility of goat cheese on the board (which is not a favorite). We were free and clear and subsequently loved every bite! One thing I'd improve on would be to add at least two more slices of the fantastic garlicky crostini. The salami was yummy, the gouda a smoky delight, and the olives, salty and addictive. The Caesar salad seemed simple enough -- whole leaves of endive, tomatoes, crouton crumbles, and a just right amount of dressing. Sooo good! Entrees included the Bison Bolognese, the Lobster Tortellini and the Scallops. For me, though all dishes were delicious, the star of the evening was the Scallops on Farro. I shared the dish with a friend, because as amazing and tantalizing as scallops can be, four large is just too much for me. Two was perfect. The other two dishes were enjoyed by the party with assurances they would order each again. Because it was a birthday celebration, we had desserts that ranged from a simple circle of caked topped with ice cream and berries to a mango topped key lime cheesecake to a bourbon infused cake. While all were delish, I thought the simplest was best. I love tart offerings, but that mango really made my mouth pucker. The bourbon cake tasted like something between a biscuit and cornbread. Nice, but not to die for. Overall, worth every penny and I'd love to visit again. Dress code is not at all fancy, though you'd be comfortable if you dressed up for your occasion. I dont see this as a child-friendly establishment, though everyone I encountered was lovely. The only drawback here is the noise. Went here for my birthday dinner and would definitely recommend! The waitress gave us a little history about the restaurant and the chef when we first sat down. I thought that was very cool to learn about where the flavors were inspired from. The menu had a variety of uniquely flavored dishes from seafood to steak to pizza. The bread board they recommended to us is probably the only time I'll ever order bread as an appetizer at a restaurant. They popovers were everybody's favorite and the different butters were fun to try. I highly recommend their pizza. The crust is chewy and soft and it's the best pizza I've had in a long time. Their burger and lobster Mac and cheese were also very delicious. I had the short rib and it was so tender. After dinner, they brought out a birthday dessert which were 3 mini donuts and vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. It was delicious! Our food came out perfectly prepared and very tasty. The heirloom tomatoes and burrata appetizer really stole the show! My wife enjoyed the mahi-mahi on a bed of black rice, while I tested the burger. My only negative critique of the evening is that my burger patty could have used a bit more seasoning. This was our second visit to Salted Edge. This is a high end restaurant and priced accordingly. Our first experience about a year ago was first class. I was excited to take my dad and his wife there tonight hoping to share the experience we had the first time. We were very disappointed this time around. This visit was on a Sunday and an easy reservation to be had. We like the location, view and ambience but the service ,though well intentioned, was not acceptable for the price. The server was in training and tried hard but training and experience was poor. The bottle of wine we ordered was only the second he had opened EVER. He inexplicably struggled with the cork and pours. We are not high class customers but at this price it's fair to expect more than a five minute effort to remove a cork. The food was good not great. Service was very slow and we needed to ask for everything we got. A $400 meal for four should be much more enjoyable. Training and hiring of the wait staff needs attention. Their version of the espresso martini was my favorite. We ordered the famous bread board for an appetizer and I would highly recommend ordering this at least once. The butter and bread were all so unique and was such a fun tasting experience. For my entrée, I did a surf and turf and thoroughly enjoyed both the lobster and the steak. I had extremely high hopes for Salted Edge and maybe I'm being more critical because of it. The 4 of us ordered 4 starters, 3 entrees, a handful of drinks and the dessert cocktail flight. Highlights were the Brussels sprouts (amazing) and burrata. The mushroom tartine had more goat cheese flavor than mushroom (the mushrooms had nearly no taste) and the deviled eggs were good but nothing super mind blowing (I actually keep forgetting we had them). My burger had good flavor (in my opinion, but another member of my party really didn't like the flavor of the meat) but the patty was way too thick for my tastes. I could only eat half of the burger and I think the flavors would have been more balanced with a thinner patty. I got to try the lobster tortellini and it was nothing like I expected. It had a very strong taste of lemon zest in the tortellini. I know it has a citrus sauce but the flavor of the lemon was overpowering. The cauliflower steak looked good but I didn't try it. The dessert cocktail flight looked gorgeous but the donuts were dry and the drinks were good but not phenomenal. I preferred the espresso one the most. The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff was awesome. Our waitress Cameron was excellent and we were greeted and treated well by everyone. Not only was it very loud where we were seated, but the server was completely attending to another party instead of us. Having been a server for four years, this was incredibly disappointing. Everything we ate was really good. Probably one of the best restaurants in Omaha area. The restaurant was larger than I expected, it has a nice view of the water and even has some outdoor seating. We went with a group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My favorite things were the Mahi Mahi, the bone in ribeye, and the potatoes. I probably would not get the beet salad again, but it was good. Although I didn't try it, the table agreed the potatoes were the best side and they would get 2 of those instead of the lobster Mac next time. We got drinks at the bar when we walked in and the bartender really took his time in making a beautiful and tasty drink. He was very knowledgeable about all the drinks and seemed to be in charge of making a lot of the items that were made in house. I got the Every Second Counts cocktail. It was really good! Would get that on a return trip as well. The only negative thing that happened was that our friends at the table ordered a glass of wine recommended by our waiter and when they got the bill, we were surprised to see it was $70 a glass. After talking with the manager, they were able to get half of the charge removed, but it was a real shock when we hadn't been told the price and the highest priced wine on the menu was around $20 a glass. On the whole, I had a good experience at Salted Edge. They get an extra star for the location. It wasn't that far outside of Omaha and the restaurant is lovely. It is modern but warm and inviting. Just a beautiful space. Loved the small little lounges outside near the water's edge. I could see coming back in the summer or late fall with the fire places. Our server seemed new. She was trying hard to remember the menu when we asked several detailed questions. She did have to check with the kitchen a number of times but she was friendly and delivered items promptly. There are two mocktails on the beverage menu. It's nice to have nonalcoholic drinks that aren't soda. However, they were out of some of the ingredients for the Free Willy I wanted to try. The other beverage was good, but not what I had my heart set on. The drink I did get had pieces of herb, I think, tarragon, cut finely enough that they came up through the straw. And there were quite a few of them. Cutting them bigger would have been a nicer drinking experience. As others have said, the bread board is the highlight of the menu. Lots of creativity with the different types of bread as well as the spreads. I think my favorite was the orange rosemary biscuit...nice glazed top and fluffy in the middle. If I'm being picky, the "smoked" butter really just tasted salty. I didn't get any smoke. A couple of the flavor combinations of spreads and their intended bread was a little much, so proceed with caution. The one item I really didn't care for was the goat cheese topping along with the lavender and the cornbread. Just too many competing flavors. But on the whole, the baked items were well executed. And what a unique sharing board! A lot of their menu items were good, but not perfect. For example, the lobster bisque was decent, but not great. I enjoyed the tableside soup pour, but the pieces of lobster were small. I also wanted the bisque to be creamier. I expected the frites to be hand-cut but they came out not very warm, and I think they're fried from frozen potatoes. I was disappointed by the short ribs. I thought the meat had good beefy flavor, but the texture was a little stringy, more along the lines of a pot roast than what I would expect from a short rib. Whew! This is it! There is no reason to look for any other place when it comes to a guaranteed good time, friendly staff and amazing food. My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and let me tell you that we were so impressed not only by the food but the attention to detail. As soon as we walked in and let them know what name of our reservation was they told us happy anniversary. This detail mattered to us not because they probably knew based on the reason we gave for our reservation but because they cared enough to have a signed card from everyone who worked at the restaurant wishing us a happy anniversary. It was a nice touch and a memorable one. The staff were so friendly and cared a lot about our experience. Our waitress was funny, attentive and checked on us frequently. I keep thinking about the food we ordered and how good it was, about amazing service they and how they paid attention to everything. The establishment was a bit hard to find; I hope they invest in a clear sign, especially for the visually impaired. Very pretty location. My biggest complaint was the service.
