So let me start this review by saying I have never been a huge fan of Pickleman's. I only ever had them catered in to work events and they were very lackluster, basic sandwiches. However, when I tried them for myself outside of catering, I actually was semi pleasantly surprised with the options on offer. Yes, they do have those basic sandwiches that were catered in (if you like that, I mean) - but they also have a lot of other items you can add onto sandwiches when you order for yourself. I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich, and added mayo and black olives, and removed the onions. It was actually pretty delicious, but still kind of basic when compared to other sandwich shops in town (Potbelly is my favorite of the similar ones to Pickleman's) I also ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese (I know, more pulled pork??). It was alright, but was cold when I got it home, so maybe the container they put it in doesn't retain heat so well. Basic Mac and cheese with a tiny bit of pulled pork on top and bbq sauce. If you couldn't tell, I ordered a few side things in case the sandwich was gross. I also grabbed the Broccoli Cheese soup. Now, when it comes to broccoli cheese soups, the one I measure them all against is the Panera one that comes in a bread bowl. And this was nothing compared to that. Kind of bland and also cold. Now I know you're saying "couldn't you just heat up these cold items?" And to that I say "I shouldn't have to do that, when I literally live a block from the store!" The one bright spot was that the cookies I ordered I ordered were actually pretty good - soft, flavorful, and pretty inexpensive. Fresh made to order salads and sandwiches. Friendly helpful service. We went at an off hour so not many people but plenty of seating. The room was a little chilly for the kind of day we were having , maybe the staff needed it cooler. Our salads were delicious and the soup hit the spot. We left quite satisfied. I decided to pick up my order. It was very easy to navigate the site to place my order. It was ready to go quickly. I loved the veggie sandwich on warm, toasted wheat bread. The toasting added crunch and flavor. I had the pick 2 with a veggie sandwich and garden salad. The sandwich was the perfect size for me but people with a bigger appetite would probably be disappointed. The salad was a generous size and standard, although you can change it up with toppings. Oh my gosh, it was our first time at this location and we are blown away with the service. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich in their lettuce wrap (they didn't have a gluten free bread or wrap option), and my husband had the chicken salad sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches. The icing on the cake was the service. Every employee was smiling in the middle of a busy lunch rush, and when our toddler ran up to the counter pointing at the cookies, they gave him one! NOT IMPRESSED with the service and food I just got at Picklemans. Stood at the counter for 5 mins without so much as an acknowledgement or a "be with you in a minute". When I was waited on, I ordered the Turkey bacon club lettuce wrap. I was asked if I wanted it toasted, which doesn't make sense with a lettuce wrap, so I said no. Wasn't asked what I wanted for condiments so I assumed, based on what's listed on the menu, that it would have provolone cheese, tomato, and mayo. I got home to open up a lettuce wrap with uncooked bacon, and Turkey. That's it. Nothing else. No mayo, cheese, or tomato. I had to microwave my bacon, and add my own condiments. Many will be excited to see the "now open" flags out on 114th street. A few things make for a great 114th street sandwich stop. 1- Convenient and ample parking: it can be scarce south of Dodge, but Pickleman's has a big lot! 2- Efficient layout: well done on the simple - but thoughtful - design that will process a busy lunch-time crowd while not harshing a guest's vibe. 3- Quality food & choices: If you like other Pickleman's you'll love this one too. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich (has become my favorite toasted sandwich now that the Quizno's chicken carbonara is nowhere to be found). I took the good advice of my sandwich man and added some of their spicy pepper blend - no regrets! I enjoy going to Pickleman's cafe for their fresh food. It is a difficult choice between the sandwich or the salad. Both have crisp veggies and meat if you choose. My favorite is the freshly baked cookies! Each time I visit Pickleman's on 114th & Dodge Street the dining room is clean and the employees uniforms are neat. You can tell that the staff are happy from the smile's on their face. By the way, I hear they have good pizza I just haven't had the chance to try it yet. I always tend to look at the menu online before I go anywhere so that way I am not standing there staring at the board while the employees stare at me waiting for my order . Walked in knowing what I wanted , quick glance at the board to make sure the names haven't changed and placed order . Lacking some flavor when it comes to the seasoning but it was "clean " tasting ( not full of preservatives ) . Strangely I liked my 2nd 1/2 of the sandwich better then the 1st . It feels odd to say this but I almost felt she gave me the wrong sandwich when I first started eating it . I ordered the hodgepodge which has salami, capicola , turkey and ham and I did not taste the salami or capicola at all . I started to feel maybe I ordered wrong but when I got to the 2nd 1/2 of the sandwich I definitely noticed it on there . I don't know how they cut the meat , they don't let u see that . ( that doesn't bug me so much but I love other places where they cut the meat in front of you and let you watch ) , I Almost felt she forgot and just didn't put everything on the entire thing . First the bad news. It was by far the smallest sub that I have ever had. It was also fairly expensive given its size. That's it for the bad news. There was a lot of good stuff though. First, and most important, is that the Italian club sandwich that I had was one of the best ones that I have ever had. It was loaded with flavorful quality meat and dressed perfectly. The slightly toasted bread was very good. I would not even change anything about how they dressed it. I also had a bowl of the broccoli cheese soup. It was thick, flavorful and loaded with broccoli. I only had to add a little salt to make it perfect. I really like it served this way. Most places make it way too salty and you just can not fix that. Bottom line, the service was good, the place was clean and the food was great. A little expensive for how much you get, but when it is this good, it is well worth it in my book. I will be coming back to try more of the menu items.The only reason that I did not give them a 5 star rating was the size of my sandwich. read more

Why do they bother giving you the option to customize your order if they literally never read the order and mess it up every single time I order delivery? Ask for no tomato, no mayo, add ranch on a sandwich. Guess what I got...mayo and tomato and no ranch. Ask for regular ranch on your salad...they give you spicy ranch instead. My order has never been right, not once. Call to have them fix it and guess what? You get to wait for a driver...worst service ever. Do not recommend their delivery service at all! We started going to Pickleman's a lot after my son got to try their sandwich because the soccer camp he was at provided them for lunch one day. We like Pickleman's because they have so many different options of sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and soups to choose from! They use the best ingredients and I love the taste of the sandwich after the are toasted. I usually get the Veggie. It is really really yummy. We also always get their chocolate chip cookies. They are scratch made daily so they are always good when we get them. I also always get an iced tea from there which I am unsure if they make there or not, but it is still good. It doesn't come from the soda machine, so it may be made there. If you have not tried Pickleman's before, you should at least give them a try. They are really good and the people who work there are usually very friendly. They also do delivery and you can order online too. read more

I made my first stop here for lunch today, and came away impressed. Great bread, lots of choices, and nice environment. I ordered half sandwich, broccoli &cheese soup, pickle spear and a drink. Same as lunch special at Little King. The food here is much fresher and better made, but $3 more than Little King. So the value is a little off. Restaurant is nicely laid out, with most booths having USB ports, which is a nice touch. Staff was friendly and quick. First time trying Pickleman's and delivery at that. I ordered online and it was a breeze, the ease of the entire website and ordering process made the whole process much better. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad and a meatball sub. Estimated delivery was 45 min. My food arrived right on time. I live in the back of an apartment complex that is more like a maze than an apartment complex and it was dark out so the drivers visibility of the tiny apartment numbers was extremely limited. He had to call to find out where I was and was very pleasant. My sub was pretty good; I will probably order something else next time though and it was still warm so that's a plus! The salad was by far by favorite buffalo chicken salad. The right amount of dressing and some healthy looking veggies. Safe to say I will be ordering again!
