Wow, why did it take me so long to come here?! Sand Point is celebrating their second anniversary…read morein October 2025. Owned by a trio of dedicated foodies, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and their attention to detail shows. The quality of food, the attentive service, and the fastidiously clean and modern interior makes for a welcoming cozy atmosphere. Vote voted best of Omaha 2025 all I can say is they truly deserve it! Located just north of Dodge at 108th St., the restaurant is conveniently situated with a large parking lot and plenty of space for easy access. The restaurant takes reservations, but I had no challenge arriving mid afternoon for my first visit. I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. I was presented a fabulous menu plus specials, which made a hard decision even harder. Offering New England fare, I cannot recall since my childhood on the East Coast, where I saw clam strips on the menu, let alone freshly prepared on site. Cooked to perfection and offering a delightful twist, as the clam strips were served with traditional tartar and Chinese sweet-and-sour sauce. I was offered a complementary taste of their cornbread, prepared by the in-house pastry chef, which was by far the best cornbread I've ever enjoyed. The Portuguese fish stew offered a fabulous Bouillabaisse with plenty of muscles, shrimp, and clams as well as chorizo to fill me up! A full bar, plenty of beers on tap, and a lovely wine list offers great pairings with all the menu items. With their anniversary celebration, there will be specials offered, keep your eyes peeled on their website for menu items and wine offerings through the end of the month. I cannot say enough about this restaurant other than I will be back! I encourage you to check out the best of Omaha, or simply the best, at the Sand Point ASAP!

You can really taste how well they source and handle their seafood. The presentation was clean and simple, letting the oysters shine. Definitely one of the best spots in Omaha for fresh oysters and I will be back again as this saves me a trip to Boston to get such freshness. The head chef Keaton Shuckman, even came out to shuck the oysters and was very friendly in conversation with us! I will go back for a visit

We ordered the tableside quac, because it is what you do when that option is provided. We customized the selections to our liking, and the result was a delicious, fresh guac. I would return just for this and a margarita flight. Oh yes, a Margarita Flight. Four different flavors of margs, served on a tower with flowers and sparklers stuck to it. A+ for presentation! The Margaritas themselves were also quite good, fruity and sweet just like I like them. The menu has a small vegan section, but not a vegetarian one. So one can order a vegan meal or customize an entree without meat, for example. I went with a cheese quesadilla. The place is shiny and new, with a modern color palette and an insta-worthy neon light wall. Our server was really feiendly and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. Coke Zero establishment! I'll be back for more quac and drinks!

The interior is very cute with bright colors and lots of natural light. Behind the bar is a Día de los Muertos mural and in one of the dining areas is an adorable neon sign that says "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty" LOL We were seated and the service was great from the get go - always refilling drinks, making sure we understood the menu, and overall just being pleasant. The complimentary chips and salsa, along with a dip that is almost like a spicy mayo - were all great. We also ordered the cheese dip for our chips and that was SO flavorful and tasty. I love a good dip! For our mains, I had the street tacos with steak for the protein. The steak itself was a little flavorless, but the accoutrements around the tacos made them alright. My husband had the steak chimichanga, and he agreed that the steak wasn't super high quality or maybe just not very well seasoned. The chimichanga was huge, and was topped with a white cheese sauce - so there was flavor there. But I wish the steak itself had been seasoned or had a little more flavor. I would definitely return to La Plaza Fiesta for the awesome vibes and great staff - I'd maybe just choose a different protein and/or dish next time!

The complimentary bread came with a delicious olive-and-pesto dipping sauce. For our entrées, I ordered the Cod Imperial, and my wife had the Parmesan-Crusted Rainbow Trout. We finished the meal with pineapple cheesecake and mango crème brûlée. Everything was served promptly and at the proper temperature. My cod was cooked perfectly, and the lemon-and-caper sauce was very well balanced, with just the right amount of acidity. I also tried my wife's trout, and it was equally excellent. The Parmesan crust and the other ingredients came together beautifully. The side dishes were prepared to the same high standard as the entrées. The broccoli was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The desserts were spectacular. The only drawback is that they are seasonal, so anyone interested in trying them should visit soon. They are definitely worth it. The service was attentive, the food was carefully prepared, and the entire experience made our anniversary dinner especially enjoyable. We would gladly return and highly recommend Fishbone and Grill to anyone looking for a very good seafood restaurant in Omaha.

During a recent dinner for my dad we sat for over 10 minutes before being greeted by our waiter. Throughout the meal there were misses - we were asked if we wanted more bread, we said yes, it never came, our server said he would get my dad a dessert, it never came, my daughter asked for no cilantro on her rice, the rice had cilantro. Meals were good, but price point too high for experience. I think there much better seafood options in Omaha.

So friendly. Love the house salsa they give you. Great flavor. but if you are like me and love SPICY then as for the habanero salsa. So good! I had the fajitas trio. (Steak, shrimp and chicken) by far best I've had in Omaha. Also tried the slow roasted pork shank. Wow it's so tender and just falls off bone. The almond mole on it is incredible! Can't wait to come back for more! True Omaha Jem. Only complaint is it is loud. High ceilings makes peoples voices resonate.

The space was nicely decorated, but a little smaller than I expected. They don't have a great spot for waiting. You can wait at the bar, though it was full when we were there. Once we got our table the server was friendly and attentive. Ordered Frida's Mezcalita and the Spicy Golosa. Both were good, the Spicy Golosa was a little too spicy for me. We also got the Queso Dip which was also a bit spicy to me, not sure if it was because of the cocktail or not. For our entree we split the Mole Enchiladas. The mole was great, full of flavor with the blend of spices and chocolate. It was the perfect amount to split, we each got an enchilada and shared the rice and beans. Even with a couple of things being on the spicier side everything was delicious and we would come back to try more off of the menu!
