Went with a buddy for some quick street food. We both ordered the Llanera. It was super beefy flavored. Extra juicy- almost too juicy and too messy, but only almost. I was tempted to order a second one because it was so good! Churos were as expected: crispy sugary goodness outside, soft on the inside. Service was great. They take cash, credit and Venmo. As far as ambience goes: it's a good truck. You bring your own vibes. Highly recommended!

Tried this little restaurant last night and it was pretty damn good! The food was flavorful and delicious. They bring you these incredible sauces that come with the meal that are to die for. We asked for a few more just to take home with us--they were that good! There are a few vegetarian options available, which is always a must in my book. I had the vegetarian arepa, which is stuffed with avocado and pico de gallo--so good! My only critique is that the portion of my food was a little small and I felt hungry afterward--but the price was still reasonable given the quantity of food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and inviting, although they could benefit from some AC! Service was phenomenal. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I would come here again to try some different options on the menu.

The food here is amazing! If you are looking for an authentic Latin American restaurant this is the place! The service is fast and people are super nice. The place is super clean and if you are Hispanic, you will feel at home!

If you have never had an arepa you are missing out. El Arepon is the only place in Omaha that I have had an arepa from and it did not disappoint. I went to the switch in blackstone. They fully load the arepa with fresh and flavorful products. Their sauces are unmatched. Very affordable too!

I have driven past Kohls and Aldis across the street from the Nebraska Furniture Mart and have seen this food truck, but always assumed it was just another Mexican food truck until somebody told me it wasn't, it is Venezuelan. Doing a little research I found out Arepas have been around longer than Venezuela was a country, so I was exited to try something new, but the truck has been in the shop getting a new engine and just returned this Wednesday, so today was my first experience of Venezuelan food and it knocked my socks off. I first tried the Pabellon, which is shredded beef in a sort of a BBQ sauce, black beans, plantains, a fried egg and cheese, which just blended together perfectly and was a meal in itself. It came with a white sauce that is more like a sweet cucumber sauce and a green sauce a little spicy and sweet. I also got the Reine Pepeada: shredded chicken in a creamy avocado sauce but the Pabellon filled me, I hope to add its review later. They ask you to call ahead with your order because it takes 10-15 minutes to create which is about how far away I live, you just have to figure out what's what first. Now, what do I try next? I will be back.

Stopped in to check out the food hall and sample the fair. My wife and I each tried a Pabellon, which had pork, beans, fried egg and plantain, we had them hold the cheese. We both loved these. Super happy they are gluten free and will be back for sure. Looking forward to trying more of their items. Not bad at $8 each.

Just delicious! The Reina Pepeada is amazing!!! The empanadas are so packed with flavor that I seriously crave them! I went online a few months ago to look up what the meaning of the food names were to know what to order and the owner will explain it as well but look what's up on the food truck now!!

As a foreword to this review, this place used to be a food truck but now has a stall in Blackstone in Farnam St between 36 and 37th Street. Anyways, this place is located right as you go into the building as the second shop inside. You will immediately identify it as its Logo has the Venezuelan colors in it. They serve arepas, empanadas, juices and other small snacks. The owner himself is there, serving the customers. I tried the Arepa Llanera, two meat empanadas and guanábana juice. The arepas and empanadas were a good portion, and two of them can fill in for a small meal and keep one satisfied. The dough is well made and both snacks had lots of meat filling. There are several other options that seem equally delicious.... and if you have not tried guanábana, which I think is called soursop in English, you have to! Its a perfect refresher that goes along this Venezuelan street food.

I highly recommend "pabellón" and empanadas, parchita agua fresca ( passion fruit) to seal the meal :) very tasty Latin American!

The Pepitos sandwich! Looks crazy, tastes AMAZING

El Arepon is such a gem! We would go regularly when they were over in the Blackstone District, and they're absolutely worth the slightly longer drive out to Bellevue. The good is amazing, truly a unique culinary and cultural experience. If you go you should DEFINITELY try the Pepitos sandwich- it's everything but the kitchen sink and is a literal explosion of flavor. My fiancé and I joke about having them cater our wedding that's how much we love this place

We have been looking for this food truck for over a year and yesterday it appeared like a mirage in front of the Kohl's on 72nd St. After talking with to the man inside he told us he is there from Thursday - Sunday from 11am to 10pm (although trust me it is very easy to miss it). They specialize in Arepas which are flat corn tortillas that are stuffed with delicious goodness. The most common one in Venezuela, and is my favorite, is Reina Pepiada (it's shredded chicken with avocado). Other popular ones are Carne Mechada (shredded beef with vegetables and seasonings), pork, sausage, ground beef. They also make empanadas, but unfortunately their fryer was not working when we were there. They also have pop and some traditional latin america fruit juices. They also cater. Service was very quick. Our food was delicious, although the menu said that each arepa is $3.50 and we were charged $4 for each. Still a great price. Make sure to go visit them, for sure we will be returning.

So amazing. I am from Florida where I've eaten my share of Venezuelan food and this is definitely worth it. My boyfriend got chicken pepitos and he said the texture and the favor are amazing. Definitely for someone who is hungry because it is a BIG portion. And I got the vegetarian arepa and the cheese empanadas and both were truly incredible. It was very welcoming and when someone is excited and proud of his food it makes me want to support it even more. Will 10/10 be back. Ps the photo is of the pepitos already started eating it but it was beautiful.

I was informed that it's street food and to eat it with my hands... I tried friends. I really did. One bite and it not only was all over my hands and face, half the contents were back on my plate. (I suggest tackling the fillings with a fork first to make the sandwich more manageable.) Food was messily delicious and that dark green sauce made it even better. Huge portions... Friendly service... A+.

The interior is fun and bright, with Venezuelan flags hung everywhere, nice wooden chairs and tables, and cute signs on the walls about their beer options and desserts. We spoke with the owner a lot, and he was so friendly and cheerful. He definitely wanted to be sure we all loved our food (which we did!) I started with the Papas Rellenas to share with the table, and they were HEAVENLY. Perfectly seasoned beef and mashed potatoes all fried up in a giant ball. Really good with any of their amazing sauces. And definitely ask for a bottle of each of the sauces, because they are all fantastic in their own ways! I tried an Arepa as well as a bit of a starter, and it was also very tasty! I had tried many arepas in Colombia, and this took me right back there. I had the Catira Arepa, and it was so delicately fried up and then filled with scrumptious chicken, shredded cheese, and some of the amazing house sauce (that's one of the amazing sauces mentioned previously). For my entree, I had the Pastichio, which is a Venezuela "lasagna" dish, with tomato, smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and lots of cheese all melted on top. It was extremely decadent in its richness, and the portion size was huge, so you may have some to take home as leftovers and enjoy later! My husband had the Pepito, which was a giant sandwich full of sliced sausage, carne asade (or another protein of your choice), cabbage, potato chips, and tons of their delicious sauces on top. I got to try it, and it was SO flavorful and satisfying! Another giant portion that will leave you with leftovers, too. We ended the meal with two desserts - the flan and the churros: -The flan was great and super sweet, especially with the added chocolate sauce on top - yum. -The churros were my favorite of the two, as they were soft, warm (obviously freshly made) and also came with a few dips to dunk them in like chocolate and caramel. I'm still dreaming about those churros. With a great owner/staff, fun atmosphere, and out of this world amazing food, I definitely recommend you check out El Arepon for yourself!
