I absolutely love this place. It's comfortable inside, staff is nice, there's a large variety of delicious food and it's reasonably priced. My favorite thing are the pupusas. They come with sauce and curtido (delicious cabbage salad) on the side. The mushroom ones are amazing. Other favorites are jalapeño (I don't think that's on the menu so just ask) and the garlic, but my husband doesn't like when I get that one. I often get several of them for takeout, with the idea being that I will put them in a freezer bag, with parchment paper between them, and keep in the freezer. I am not usually able to do that because instead I end up eating them for every meal until they are gone! read more

Stopped by here with some friends to try something new! With two vegetarians present, we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of options available! We both created our own pupusas, which is similar to a quesadilla, but is a stuffed corn tortilla (possibly fried). My other friend also ordered the enchiladas and we were surprised that it was a crispy fried base, similar to a tostada! As we did visit at the end of the day, our server was quite impatient and we needed to go find her as we needed silverware and refills. This definitely did not bring down the experience of this cute El Salvadoran joint, but next time we'd visit earlier to ensure quality service. Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening. Very quite. Sat down to eat and they do offer table service. Very Friendly service. My wife and I are big popusas fans and disappointed we hadn't come across this place sooner. Most things are gluten free as my wife needs to eat that way. They gave us a small dish of chips and salsa which are quite tasty. I had a chorizo taco which was amazing. The popusas were huge and delicious. Also tried a very tasty chicken tamale and plantain. If you are looking for an honest to goodness authentic tasteful papusa. Look no further, not only are they THE. Best pupusas I've ever had, they make them to order, so they are fresh and hot. I had cheese and mixed, I like the cheese the best, but I am also a huge cheese lover, so I may be a little biased out of the gate. I also ordered the beef and veggie soup to go with the papusa, it is a meal in it self. The soup cake with a side of cabbage rice tortilla and condiments. Had I known I would ordered 1 papusa The soup had decent flavor and was chock full of veggies and 2 ginormous hunks of meat, I totally could have used a knife to navigate this soup. The soup also came out fresh and hot, all the veggies, Mexican squash, yucca, chayote, cabbage, carrots all except the yucca had some crunch to them, so it was obvious the spill wasn't sitting somewhere stewing all day with the veggies getting mushy. The meat was surprisingly tender, it looked like it was going to be tough, the slaw on the side was pickled but not overpowering and the rice was perfectly cooked and had great flavor on its own. I love soup, I eat it year round, I've now found my new favorite spot for soup. The restaurant itself is clean and appears to be family owned. Come at the right time of day and you can score rockstar parking, otherwise it will be a challenge. But worth it. read more

This is more of a warning then an actual review. If you are going to eat here and you have peanut allergies, do not do it or at least do not order the horchata. The horchata has peanut powder in it. I got an extreme reaction from it which I've never gotten from horchata from any Mexican restaurant before. It's just a warning, they should definitely add that as a warning on their menu or something since a lot of people in the USA have nut allergies. First of all...I love me some papusas! Ok so now that we're on the same page, I was lucky enough to check this place out at a Yelp event. I'm pretty sure we'll be back...and often. I enjoyed the papusas, but we will be eating our way thru the entire menu. The location is easy to get to, but the parking is off-street and that can be a bit of a hassle. It's a small place, but clean and the staff is efficient. Appears to be family own and operated, which gives it some personality. Food is good and super affordable. The pupusas are a unique Salvadoran, savory entree. It's texture is comparable to a thicker tortilla and meat filled. The beans and cheese was good, but the chicharonnes are probably my favorite. I thought chicharonnes would be belly fat but you it's more so pulled pork and not quite oily. I only ate the pupusas and would recommend them! They are $1 on Tuesday and Friday. Just a warning, if you present the Yelp check-in on any day except for Tuesday or Friday the price is not honored. Also this is just my experience but I was paying with my credit card and the lady pulled out my card to remind me to "the option to leave a tip". No private lot, but there's plenty of nearby street parking. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the menu consists of Salvadoran and Mexican cuisines. While there are some larger entree platters and sandwiches available, I kept things simple and order a couple tacos and pupusas. The tortillas were made fresh for my tacos, which were filled with delicious al pastor and topped with cilantro and onion (plus two types of fresh salsa to choose from). The pupusas were made-to-order as well, one filled with cheese and the other with pork and cheese. They were great, especially topped with salsa and curtido (slaw with vinegar dressing). And I honestly don't know if they gave me 2 sandwiches for the torta. They wrapped both large halves separately (I got veggies only so it had tomato onion lettuce avocado mayo and beans). Tried a few other things: Salvadoran empanadas (Plantain dough stuffed with custard, deep fried and then tossed in cinnamon sugar), churros and other small plates. All tasted good. I can't believe someone gave this place one star. It is the best food you can get in this area of town for sure. Tuesdays and Fridays they have $1 pupusas, which you really can get away with just eating one and being full. The owners are fabulous and their kids are usually running the front counter. I work in the area and I've never had to wait more that 20 minutes for anything. If there's no one sitting down inside, but it still takes awhile, it's probably because they're working on to go order that were called in. They have all different kinds of pupusas for $1. I've eaten here at least 2 times a week since they opened and I have yet to be disappointed. read more

My favorite place in omaha, hands down. Wasn't expecting much from the midwest but these are some of the best tacos and pupusas I've had ever. The prices are amazing, way better than any other prices in town that i have seen. You can hear them make the tortillas and pupusas in the back, LEGIT. Mayra suggested a giant combo meal for my wife and I, and we were bowled over. Zero stars. Let's just say when you're the only patron at noon on Tuesday (known for Tacos), that's not a good sign. It should not take 35 minutes to cook 2 carne asada tacos to go. The tacos themselves left MUCH TO BE DESIRED. When Taco Bell/Taco John's hardshell *gag* ground beef tacos are better, the place could generally be considered a one and done place. I like to support small businesses and came back on a day their pupusas are a dollar. First off, the only have vegetarian variety for that price, but advertise in such a way one is lead to believe all are that price. After I paid a homeless addict wandered out of the bathroom and tried fighting with me. *I can't make this up* Guess what the management did? Filmed it and yelled WORLDSTAR! I decided the $5 I spent on pupusas was not worth getting stabbed, so i left and never came back for my food. They also didn't allow a veteran who had a service dog, a direct violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act, and downright unAmerican. If you want street fare, go to the taco truck on Leavenworth across from the Catholic Church. I honestly can't tell if this or the McDonald's in S13th St is the ABSOLUTE WORST place to acquire food (restaurant implies some degree of service) in the 402/712 combined. read more

It was super cheesy and filled with fresh ingredients. However, the pupusa wasn't my favorite. But, it tasted freshly made and the ingredients were of quality. The decor inside is simple and cute and there is plenty of seating available.
