In the moment, I did think about arguing for my change, but I let it go because I had been deciding whether to tip 6 OR 7 dollars ?? while I was being rung up (their "tip" of non-returned change was less than three) ... so I let my confusion and annoyance at their refusal to give me change (yeah, I should have argued) be appeased by their LOSS of their far larger tip, because they clearly didn't want to give me any change at all.) They packed up my delicious food ((without salsa)). I got it home ... I enjoyed its county-food flavor profile, but without salsa?! It was still very good, but it needed the salsa. The people behind the counter were one-star-at-best (but very, VERY smiley! and friendly! ... but once again, they kept my change when they put my $30 in the drawer and didn't offer me change, and they didn't include salsa). I try to tip well, try to give a review of hidden gems, and bring my friends to the bestest foot places.) One star for service. (Potentially) five stars for the food - but, I never got a chance to taste their traditional salsa.
