Churrasco with queso frito, sweet plantains, and the rice and beans were awesome. Perfect lunch! Nice to have the guayaba drink too. First time here. I've had Nicaraguan food many times in South Florida. This was better, and it was delicious. I had the steak with mixed beans/rice, sweet plantains, and fried cheese as an add-on. Also ordered a Pupusa from the Salvadoran menu. Steak was tender and delicious. Sides were perfectly prepared and great. Pupusa could almost make a lunch by itself. I had mine filled with a mix of 3 possible fillings as recommended by my host. Excellent. I would definitely drive across town for this. And don't let the location fool you. We've been driving past this establishment for the last 4 months since it opened and finally took the time to stop in... The Good: We came in between lunch and dinner, mid afternoon, and there was no wait which was great. The owner and his whole family was so welcoming, friendly and sincere. They helped us with our food choices as it is our first time here and also for Nicaraguan/Salvadoran food. And let me tell you not one item on our plates disappointed at all. All those delicious flavors, each in their own way, yet not running together at all. I am NOT and bean enthusiast at all, but if we come here I will be more then happy to eat my beans and rice! The portions are perfect to tame your appetite. If I wasn't full I would continue ordering until I tried all their items on the menu! Being this place is close to our work we will start coming here more frequently to not just enjoy absolutely delicious food but also very caring and friendly service. Love these local famy owned places. And we always do what we can to support these restaurants over chains any day of the week!!! The Bad: I am full and have no room for très leches dessert. The Ugly Truth: If every business would care about their customers as much as this one it would be a highly competitive restaurant market here in Omaha. I am so happy they opened a Nicaraguan restaurant in Omaha. Everything we ordered tasted exactly how it should. The carne asada was flavorful, the maduro frito (sweet plantain) was excellent and the tajadas were so crispy I could come every day for them. The pupusas revueltas were not too big or doughy and the chicharrón was prepared perfectly. I can say this is authentic Nicaraguan food and the owners were kind and attentive. Nicaraguan and Salvadoran food. I have been to Nicaragua, El Salvador, and many other Central and South American countries, but I am not even remotely close to an expert on their cuisine. However, this seems like run-of-the-mill Caribbean and Central American food that I've had all over the place. The spousal unit, offspring and I have been meaning to eat at this place for at least a month. We finally made it in for a late lunch (1:45) on Saturday, July 3rd in the second year of the great COVID. We had one each steak, pork, and chicken plates (grilled meat, rice & beans, fried sweet plantain, and add-on fried cheese ($2 each for the cheese, I believe). The restaurant is cafeteria style with everything already prepared and kept in warmers. Everything had a good flavor, but the chicken and pork were dry. However, there were solutions for the dryness that helped. The cheese was good but I would not pay $2 per serving (slice) again. Still, for $13 a plate (with cheese), we were all filled. Will I come back again? I do not know. I think it would be better if the food was made to order. Everything would be hotter and fresher. And perhaps not as dry. Additionally, while everything tasted fine, it was lacking in anything that made my mouth excited. I think it all needs a few more flavorful spices. It's just good, home-cooked food, but lacking the wow factor that I would look for in a restaurant. I am a fan of hole-in-the-wall/mom-and-pop businesses, and I hope this one can survive and thrive. There aren't too man different styles of cuisine out here in the burbs, so I'm extra grateful for this little place for an authentic dose of Central American food. These guys never disappoint. I've had the steak, the chicken, and the pork, and all are good. The meat is always well-cooked (not over or under), moist, and very well seasoned! I LOVE their gallo pinto (Nicaraguan rice & beans). Sometimes I get an extra order of those to have on their own as a meal the next day. The Salvadorien pupusas are good too. If it's your first time I'd get the chicken or steak asada with a side of gallo pinto. The fried cheese is worth getting too if you like cheese a lot, though it's pretty filling. I don't think you can really go wrong with anything here. Try it all and see for yourself. Run by nice people too. read more

We went here for the first time late afternoon on Friday. The place is attached to a gas station so it was hard to find because we weren't expecting that. It was empty at the time and I assume he was the owner who walked us through the menu. He was very friendly. We ordered papusas which were fantastic - take the restaurant's recommendation and have the combination papusa which is beans and cheese and pork stuffed. They come with a little cabbage slaw for the top. We did not have anything else because were just looking for something light. The papusas were a great value and worked out perfectly for a light meal. The only reason for my four stars is the very limited menu and the ambiance. The food is served on paper plates with disposable silverware. Don't know what was on the table but our plates stuck to the table.
