Cobb Salad with Chicken
Joy J.

I've loved Salad and Go from my very first visit a year or two ago. Their menu is simple and healthy so I never feel guilty whenever I get something from here. Their prices are great and for the portion size, you can't complain. This time around, I went to the drive-thru and ordered the Cobb Salad with ranch dressing (instead of blue cheese). The lady over the intercom said, "oohhkayyy." When I got to the window, the guy asked if it was okay if it had blue cheese crumbles on top. I wasn't feeling blue cheese, but I kept quiet to avoid confrontation, plus it seems the salads are pre-made that way. Other than that, this place was quick and the drive-thru was efficient and convenient for me. The salads here are always on point and today's Cobb was no exception. I also like their flavored lemonades, but resisted temptation today, lol.

Ugh this was so sad! We order s 8 Caesar salads for a church event and threw away 5 of them! The lettuce was completely rotten. I was trying to stay away from bagged salads for the event and wanted fresh crunchy Salad and Go salads like I'm normally used to. We live in Gilbert and frequent Salad and Go 3 times a week at least. What a disappointment. We got to the event and then realized it which at that point we didn't have time to request replacements. I will not be going back to this location.

,Breakfast burritos for $3.80

Many people go to Salad and Go for their fresh salads, wraps, and bowls, but it is also a great place for breakfast burritos and bowls as well. I was amazed that for $3.80 you can get delicious breakfast bowls or burritos with fresh and healthy ingredients. I chose the traditional breakfast burrito with fresh eggs, breakfast potatoes, pepper jack cheese, and turkey sausage instead of bacon with a choice of red or green salsa. I gotta say the burrito was thick and packed with healthy goodness. I didn't like the salsa packaging, but the rest was pretty good and a definite bargain at $3.80, and you can feel good about eating it too.

Made to order .... With love ... :)

The person who took our order was distracted and provided poor customer service. We had to each repeat our orders, no eye contact, etc. We both ordered the Ultimate Taco, my wife chose Birria beef and I chose Green Chili beef. We ordered the Vegetable Beef soup to share. The food was delivered promptly. The food needed salt, but was otherwise delicious. The side red and green salsas provided were flavorful and provided the right amount of heat. Despite the poor ordering process we enjoyed our visit (based on the food alone). We will likely return.

I could not let them go back east without trying some traditional Native food. They were so excited. I told them I like eating fry bread with honey and jalapenos. Nice little place with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside as it was not too hot. Two of us ordered the traditional Native taco with ground beef. The other ordered a fry bread taco salad. We all ordered a sweet fry bread as well. I think we all got the honey fry bread. I asked for jalapenos, but they did not have picked jalapenos. One of us found a hair in the taco and was worried about taking it back. I told her not to worry, our people will not do anything to your food if you take it back. So, she took it back, and they made her another one. These tacos were so big! I could only eat half (after I had eaten 3 slices of sweet fry bread. . . lol. . .). I ate the other half the next day for lunch, and it was just as good. I will definitely be back.

You can customize by adding peppers and avocados but it comes with those yummy crispy onion pieces. The fries are pretty good too - I would give them a 6/10 on the fry scale - they are crispy and not greasy but maybe could be a little bit more crispy. My son and I each ordered our own fry but definitely could have shared them because they are quite large. I also love that they have some pretty decent wine in a can for $10. We dined in and there is not too much ambiance but they do have a tv going -- we sat by the window and did a bit of people watching. This location is inside the uptown plaza and it is so cute and decorated for the holidays. There is not much to say about the service -- our food came out fairly quickly especially during the dinner time so that was positive -- you could see a lot of door dashers in and out picking up to go orders so it was fairly busy -- but not a lot of people eating in the dining area. It is kind of pricey for fast food but it is good and they have a veggie burger so I pay the price.

Saw a frie an assumed there was another in there, but there was not. It wasn't until I brought the food back when I saw the recipient splitting fries and I asked "there's another fry, wait, they didn't forget a fry did they?"... It may seem like no big deal, it's just a small order of french fries but not to the folks who were waiting on the food and not to the one who split theirs... lame. I attempted to call, twice. No one will likely answer and I am bummed to have not resolved it. See, the updale on a combo to me, makes it matter as well as the customers who were dissatisfied. The chick was kind enough, I waited a really long time to not even get my full order and well, just gonna have to be "that person" every single time I hit a Carl's Jr from here forth. My previous order was a few years ago and I recall it being pretty flavorful. My more recent order was light, crispy and served hot, though it didn't have much flavor. It wasn't bad; just not great. I do, however, wish they had offered condiments such as lemon wedges which were never offered. I know lemon wedges were available in the past. If they still are, it would have been nice if the employee asked if I wanted any or if they could be requested through the app (which I didn't see). The ambiance is casual and the facility was clean. People treat fast food reviews like police reports, they only come calling when there is an issue…read more So I like to balance that out and provide reviews when fast food delivers! This drive-thru-only location is basically the Formula 1 pit crew of chicken sandwiches. The line can look terrifying, but somehow you still get your food faster than most places take to say "welcome in." The staff is consistently friendly, the food actually looks like the menu pictures (a miracle in fast food), and the whole operation runs with suspicious levels of efficiency. There is a patio if you're feeling adventurous, but this is Phoenix, where sitting outside half the year feels like volunteering to be slow-roasted. Thankfully, this spot is perfect for grabbing lunch on the go or picking up dinner on the way home. Fast, friendly, accurate, and reliable, the fast food equivalent of finding a shopping cart with all four wheels working.

So I'm updating my previous review because... plot twist, we had a situation…read more I originally gave this place 4 stars because overall they've been solid. Fast, efficient, food hits, no major complaints. But after my most recent experience, I'm dropping it to 3. I ordered online, paid ahead, did the whole "I'm a responsible adult" thing. I get there, give my name, pull up, and suddenly I'm told my total like I never paid. Then someone loudly calls out from the back, "OH! it declined." First of all... what? Second of all... inside voices?? Here's the kicker: it did NOT decline. I had the confirmation email, and my bank showed the charge (I didn't know this yet). Instead of verifying, she told me matter-of-factly that it declined, so I handed her the exact same card I used online, and she ran it again. Boom, double charged. And at that point, I'm starving and not about to fight over a fast food order, trusting that staff are doing their due diligence, not just assuming and casually charging a second $30 like it's no big deal in this economy. I had to go back through the drive-thru line (again), wait (again), and deal with it while my food sat getting soggy (not again, unfortunately, just once was enough). To their credit, the refund was issued and it did hit my account. So yes, they fixed it. That matters. But... this shouldn't have happened in the first place. It's a training issue. If an order is confirmed, don't assume it declined. And maybe don't announce someone's "declined card" across the building like it's a group discussion topic. Still a decent location... would be smart to verify before you charge people twice (maybe my expectations are too high?) and I will never order online again because of this, lesson learned first time around on that.

I did get the spicy viva burger to try as well, and didn't like it as much. It lacked depth of flavor and kinda just tasted spicy. Still a solid burger of course, but I would go back to the classic ones next time. During lent, they had their fish sandwich, which was INSANE. The best one we have ever had. The fish was crispy on the outside, flakey and buttery on the inside. The tartar sauce was perfectly tart and balanced the whole thing. I AM PRAYINGG it comes back for times other than lent. Ruined every other fish sandwich for me. We tried their fries both times we went, and honestly not a fan. They're beef tallow fries so they're supposedly "better" but they were pretty hard and oily, and have the meat taste from the beef tallow that I don't like, I would skip these. My friends and I arrived about 20 minutes before the truck opened, and there were already a few people standing in line. The line moved pretty quickly, and the total time from ordering and receiving our food was only about 15 minutes. At this time, the line wrapped around the truck. The food came out hot and fresh. Filet-o-fish is one of my favorites of all time, and the filet de fish did not disappoint at all! The first bite had us levitating and seeing stars. The tartare sauce that the fried fish was smothered in was delicious and creamy, and the fish fillet itself was tender and flaky. The toasted and soft Japanese bun was the cherry on top. Simple and comforting and nostalgic, but elevated in the best way. We also tried their popular Viva Mexico, but we felt like it lacked in flavor and only tasted spicy, if that makes sense. Beef tallow fries were okay and not anything special. Great portions, however, it was still pretty expensive for a food truck burger. I'm glad I got to try this place out and will be back if the filet de fish hits the menu again, and would try their Signature next time.
