I absolutely love this place. Great sandwiches best ever Every time we go it's been amazing.

Went there at 10 am and nobody was there. Sign said open at 10am but there was not anyone in the restaurant.

I love the subs here I've been a loyal customer since 2019 the subs taste so fresh and good 10/10

Very good submarine sandwiches from this small mom and pop shop. The best one is the Italian sub. When I was a child, my mother would take me to shop at out local K-Mart in Texas, and in that store they had a mini deli shop that sold submarine sandwiches. These remind me of old time sandwiches made with love and care with quality, not quantity, in mind. I just love that. I will continue to support this shop for the quality sandwiches they put out. read more

I have been coming here since the late 80s delicious fresh subs. The only disappointment is no public restrooms.

Best little sub shop in the valley Always a good experience and a great sub I love their Pastrami. read more

"ehhhh""" pretty much sums it up. Extremely limited topping options and basically just mustard, mayo and vinegar/oil for sauce, they don't toast the bread or melt the cheese and my chicken was microwaved in front of me. If it was airport fridge food I'd think... "hey, I got full at least," but there are much better options available for everyday life. The best I can say is that "It wasn't bad or good."‍ read more

This sandwich was underwhelming to say the least, it's dog water.... For the Italian sub, literally one layer of lunchable salami and garbage cheese (no pepperoni no ham no Italian seasoning and pepper or olive oil and vinegar, ya know like an actual ITALIAN). The kicker is you get one choice of topping so I got lettuce. Somehow it was the most dehydrated lettuce on earth. Save yourself the time, go to your fridge, eat the deli slices you have in the bottom drawer, easily more rewarding experience. Holy heck, can a dude get some ham? Or maybe a menu with ingredients? Wasn't expecting a Michelin star sando but really, the best part was the bread. read more

Mr Submarine - My dog water sandwich. - Sandwiches Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Very Basic. If thats what you want, thats fine but you're better off getting a sub at QT for cheaper.

Best Pastrami outside of NYC! Great rolls! Reasonable prices! Great Service! A local Phoenix stable since I moved here in the 70's.

If you're looking for a nice meal, a solid sandwich, then this is your place. Mr. Submarine has been around for decades and I can see why. The service is great and friendly, the restaurant is sparkling clean, and the food is good! I went with the meatball sandwich and it did not disappoint! This is a local business that I love supporting! I'm definitely coming back! read more

Went in for lunch today. Even as a paying customer, I was denied access to use the restrooms. Baffling. Also, arch them make your sandwich. Asked for no mustard on an Italian sub. Only to find out they didn't listen and smothered it with mustard. I absolutely hate mustard and was ready to throw up. The bread was good tho. The people behind the counter suck. read more

What else can I say I love Italian subs and its a damn good sandwich shop. Bread was great and the meat quality was phenomenal. Small family owned shop and they're so sweet. 11/10 would recommend read more

I'm a native from Az have eaten subs from here since I was a kid. I'm so glad they still have l e left. Miss micnics

My favorite sub place in the world. The pizza sub is my favorite. The owners are so friendly and helpful!! I recommend coming here at least once. read more

My usual go to when I'm trying a new sandwich shop is the BLT, so my first time I had the BLT. There was nothing wrong with the sandwich, but there was also really nothing right with it either. Upsides, the bread was fine and the veggies were fresh. Downsides the bacon was prepackaged and microwaved, also kind of pricey for the quality. $14 for a foot long sandwich with extra meat. read more

I love coming to Mr Submarine. Great service every time and I love the bread on the sandwiches. I always get the Italian. But it's great priced too. I hate when I go to sandwich shop and pay $10 for a sandwich. Mr Submarine is definitely under priced for the great food! read more

Mr Submarine - Yum! Love Mr Submarine. Italian sub. The bread is so delicious. Great service. - Sandwiches Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I'm sure there are much better places to get a sandwich in town. The first word that comes to mind is lame the phrase that comes to mind is lacks thought and creativity. A four-year-old could make a better sandwich. Look, I hate subway Blimpie's and places like that. I always try to find a locally owned business because the quality is usually there. My goal was to find a nice Italian style deli sub. When I got was an airport on the go half ass sandwich. If you're the owner I'm sorry if I insult you, it's just the truth. It's time you update your food and sell a quality product. read more

When I was a teenager, there was a Mr. Submarine in the plaza next to my high school. We ate there all the time. When they closed that location we were disappointed. My cousin in California mentioned Mr. Submarine recently in a Facebook post for someone to do a contactless delivery all the way from Arizona. Lol He loves it! Today we decided to drive from West Phoenix to get some subs. The sandwiches were just as amazing as we remembered them to be! read more

The owners of this place have been feeding me THE GREATEST sandwiches since the mid/late 80's. I used to live at 24th and Highland in the 80's (when you could afford to) and Mr. Submarine was my go to place for a really good sub. 40 years later they still serve up some of the best good ol' BASIC sammiches in the Valley. I drive 30 minutes just to get our "Mr" fix. Todd R doesn't get it, never will, he pretty much likes sausage sandwiches...... Not fancy, not any hoitty, toitty niche sandwich shop bullshit, no thinking they are somehow "special", but they are. They just get it done. Delicious! You won't go wrong here. Friendly folks, great sandwiches. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK? read more

Best subs. Been coming to Mr. Submarine sunce 1979. Good subs. Affordable. Great owners. Plus they have Saspirilla that I love.

They did not disappoint! I used to eat at Mr. Submarine over 30 years ago and had no idea that I could still get that classic Italian (assorted cold cut) sub. Very friendly staff and the sub was just like I remembered. We will definitely make this our go to place for a great sub in the future! read more

I'm just confused on the point of this place. Sure, it's a sub sandwich but there's not much more to it. Bread from a bag, low quality lunch meats, waxy cheese, and flavorless vegetables. I mean it wasn't bad but I wouldn't go back. I could have made this. Usually places have something they compete on that makes them unique but this is no better than Subway. read more

Made me wait 10 fucking minutes to buy a drink and we live in fucking Arizona then told me I can't buy the drink unless I buy food

Grew up eating Mr. Submarine and still a great simple sub. Great customer service and never a long wait. So yum and you must try!

Overpriced subs. Good customer service, but subs are ordinary. Nothing special about this place.

I have been eating there since I was 13. Still great!! Pizza subs my favorite. And the corner beef is so good.

I'm not much of a sandwich/sub person, it's not something a desperately crave, but I am a Mr. Submarine kind of person. Some of these reviews are right in saying that Mr. Sub isn't anything fancy and they are very simple subs. But guess what? There's other places that do fancy so if that's what you want then go elsewhere. I have been a fan of Mr. Submarine since 2010, I remember the year because one of my best friends took me here after school and her and her family have been regulars for years. Then I became a regular myself and now my sisters also goes here often. If you love to support local and family owned business with GREAT customer service then this is a spot you need to check out. Unfortunately I went to the "dark side" for a bit and started visiting a non-local sub shop, but I'm back and loving their new space. They may not be "fancy" but they're still good quality and it's a place where you can really get to know the people working there. read more

Checked out the new location for Mr Sub.... Great improvement on the seating and interior, excellent customer service, but I was hoping for an upgrade on the subs too... You've got the look to be a great sub shop, great Poor Bros Chips, so upgrade to boar's head or other high quality lunch meat & then I'll be back! read more

My husband told me he has been going to this place since 1987, when in high school. He lived in the area for 16 years and frequented. Married 5 years and live in North Phoenix, but my husband still stops occasionally as he is heading to the office in Chandler (they all work from home now). Today, I came with and even though is a small business, the subs were great. The bread is amazing. The owner is quick and very friendly. I can see why my husband has been making the time to stop in over the years. read more

Over priced subs I ordered a 6 inch pizza sub and received a 4 inch cheese sandwich with tomato sauce no joke $7.49 with a 16oz water

Rudy and his family/staff are always super friendly and fast. Have been getting the club toasted, or the pastrami. My faves.

We've been coming here forever, since back when it used to be in that little building to the north of the current building. The subs are super traditional so not tons of fancy stuff but that's why I like it. It's consistently good, the customer service is great and is a perfect lunch sub. read more
