Very good submarine sandwiches from this small mom and pop shop. The best one is the Italian sub. When I was a child, my mother would take me to shop at out local K-Mart in Texas, and in that store they had a mini deli shop that sold submarine sandwiches. These remind me of old time sandwiches made with love and care with quality, not quantity, in mind. I just love that. Went in for lunch today. Even as a paying customer, I was denied access to use the restrooms. Baffling. Also, arch them make your sandwich. Asked for no mustard on an Italian sub. The owners of this place have been feeding me THE GREATEST sandwiches since the mid/late 80's. I used to live at 24th and Highland in the 80's (when you could afford to) and Mr. Submarine was my go to place for a really good sub. 40 years later they still serve up some of the best good ol' BASIC sammiches in the Valley. Some of these reviews are right in saying that Mr. Sub isn't anything fancy and they are very simple subs. But guess what? There's other places that do fancy so if that's what you want then go elsewhere. I have been a fan of Mr. Submarine since 2010, I remember the year because one of my best friends took me here after school and her and her family have been regulars for years. Then I became a regular myself and now my sisters also goes here often. If you love to support local and family owned business with GREAT customer service then this is a spot you need to check out. My husband told me he has been going to this place since 1987, when in high school. He lived in the area for 16 years and frequented. Married 5 years and live in North Phoenix, but my husband still stops occasionally as he is heading to the office in Chandler (they all work from home now). Mr. Submarine is hands down my favorite sandwich shop. All of the ingredients are tasty and fresh. The best part of this place is the fresh bread. I prefer the wheat bread. I would recommend trying the BLT, but my all time favorite sub is the Italian salami. I often stop by for lunch, even during their busiest of times the services is exceptional and timely. Their new location is just steps away from the old shop. This new place still has the charm and authenticity of the other place. You won't want to go back to any other sandwich place after you have a sub from Mr. Submarine.
