    pork belly banh mi
    Yiping K.

Reservation: Not needed - fast casual; lot of people inside for a weekday lunch but mostly takeout/deliveries so turnover for tables was high Parking: Super easy parking in lot right outside Vibes: Bright and welcoming atmosphere with greenery, free wifi, and kiosks for convenient ordering Service: friendly and efficient despite the lunch rush Grilled pork banh mi: my personal highlight - perfectly toasted bread and the super flavorful grilled pork; other ingredients well balanced in good proportion Pork belly banh mi: also really great flavor, not super rich and fatty considering pork belly is used so wasn't heavy and reminded me of char siu pork Kimchi fried rice with BBQ chicken: chicken skin had really nice color on them and good portion though kimchi fried rice could use more heat for me personally Everything together was under $40 - a convenient, quick meal for good value!

Usually I really like Saiga, but this dish was a little off. I got the kimchi fried rice with steak and it wasn't good. Rice was oily and didn't have a strong kimchi taste (tasted like they put too much sesame oil) and the steak tasted rubbery.

Amazing place! This isn't a typical dine in restaurant. You order from a computer and all ordered are made to go but they do have tables available to dine in. Food was good but ambiance is very general.

Combination Pho Pork Belly Salad Kimchi Fried Rice

Saiga Vietnamese Eatery in Irvine is located in a business complex, but it's definitely worth checking out. This spot actually has more menu options than the Orange location. It can be a little hard to find at first, but it's worth it. We ordered the Combination Pho, and the broth and noodles were served separately, which kept everything fresh and nicely textured. The pho was good overall, but it wasn't the standout dish for me. The Pork Belly Salad was the highlight. The house dressing was light and flavorful, and the pork belly was crispy and delicious. Both the Irvine and Orange locations are consistent when it comes to quality and texture. We also tried the Kimchi Fried Rice with BBQ Chicken. The rice had great texture and was not just plain rice mixed with kimchi. You could tell it was thoughtfully prepared. The BBQ chicken was really tasty and went perfectly with the fried rice.

This spot is tucked inside a business complex that serves legit Vietnamese food. There are definitely days when I don't have time to make the drive out to Little Saigon in Westminster, and this place absolutely fills that craving without the trek. I ordered the pork belly banh mi from the kiosk. It came out warm and the baguette was toasty. The pork belly was tender and flavorful. The jalepenos and cilantro is fresh and it just tied everything together. It hit the spot and is easily one of the best pork belly banh mi in Irvine. I also tried their frozen chicken pho. They sell them there but I picked mine up from Wholefoods market. I didn't know what to expect and it surprised me in the best way. It's now officially in my regular rotation. The broth tastes clean and comforting. It's close enough to a bowl of homemade chicken pho. Bonus points for healthier ingredients. Contains no MSG and has 22g of protein. I didn't feel heavy or bloated afterwards which is rare for packaged pho. The portion is on the smaller side, so you might want to grab two if you're really hungry or want a more standard bowl size. Since you order at the kiosk, I didn't have much engagement with people who work there until my food was ready for pick up. It's a casual and more of an eat and go type of spot. Just a heads up, no restrooms for customers.

Needed something quick and found this place on yelp. I ordered the pork belly garlic noodles via the Toast local app and I was notified within less than 10 minutes my order was ready for pickup. The pork belly had a nice crispy skin. I'd prefer the pork belly to be a bit more tender and the garlic noodles to have a bit more flavor. But overall not bad, would come again

    Grilled Pork Vermicelli with Eggroll

Saiga Vietnamese Eatery is always an easy choice for me because Vietnamese food is usually my first pick when I am deciding what to eat, and whenever I see this spot on our work menu, I choose it hands down. My go to order is the grilled pork vermicelli bowl, which comes with fish sauce on the side and an egg roll, plus garlic oil, pickled carrots, mint leaves, lettuce, and cucumbers. Everything works so well together. The pork is flavorful, the noodles are light, and all the fresh herbs and veggies make each bite super satisfying. I have also tried their garlic noodles, which were tasty, but the vermicelli is definitely my favorite and what I would recommend first. The flavors are balanced, the portions are solid, it's packaged very well so that nothing spills, and it always hits the spot whenever I am craving Vietnamese food. If you are debating what to order here, go straight for the grilled pork vermicelli. It does not disappoint.

We loved Saiga Vietnamese Eatery in orange so much that we tried their Irvine location recently! their restaurant in Irvine is smaller, tucked in the Irvine business center complex, but their service is just as friendly and efficient with their food just as magnificent! BBQ chicken salad : absolutely wonderful salad with spicy, tangy, and zesty house dressing and green aioli--the bbq chicken is a hearty protein that elevates everything with its smokiness! (10/10) Grilled pork garlic noodles : a MUST if you're going to visit -- the garlic noodles are just salty and oily enough, although they could use a few vegetables for added texture; grilled pork complemented the noodles superbly, though any other protein would do (9/10) BBQ chicken banh mi : we loved how spicy the sauce is and that they were generous with the cilantro, carrots, and chicken !! Granted, what would have made this banh mi a 10/10 would've been toasted baguette, but other than that, this was marvelous (9/10) Note that this location is only open on weekdays, so this is perfect for a workday lunch break or dinner after ! Highly recommend you visit besties

    Thai tea coconut slush

My new favorite Vietnamese place in Irvine! I got the shaken beef with garlic noodles and crispy pork belly, egg roll with vermicelli. The garlic noodles and shaken beef were very savory and well balanced when eaten together. I especially loved the green sauce. It's a lemon grass aioli I believe. The pork belly is their best seller for a reason. I only ate half at the restaurant and brought the rest back to work and it was still crispy. That fish sauce (nuoc Cham) was slightly spicy and sweet. It brightens up the dish. I had to get 2 drinks. The Thai tea coconut slush was a surprising treat. Both flavors were strong. My other drink was the Vietnamese coffee with pandan top. The coffee was nice and sweet and you can taste the pandan. I'll be swinging by to try their other coffees now. It's tucked in the office building area near Red Hill and MacArthur BLVD. There are some tables if you want to sit but most people took their food to go. Even so, I found a seat in a weekday at 12:30. They have online ordering as well! This location isn't open on weekends so I'll have to try out the Orange one soon.

Shaken Steak Garlic Noodles & Vietnamese Coffee

Stumbled upon this spot while browsing for places to get lunch. It is a small, simple Vietnamese restaurant near the John Wayne Airport that serves everything from sandwiches, noodles, rice, dessert, and drinks. Plenty of parking and some seating is available for dine-in. Ordered ahead online to maximize my lunch breaktime. Opted for their Steak Garlic Noodles along with a cup of Vietnamese Coffee. Both items, sure, hit the spot. Great balance of flavor for the noodles along with the tender steak. The coffee paired with the food rather nicely. Recommend to anyone near the Irvine area craving for some Vietnamese food.

Great take-out food. Not so great for dining in. I was there during lunchtime and a lot of people were just standing around waiting for their food-- it's a small place so it felt cramped. I'm glad I was able to find a table. My Pork Belly Banh Mi was fatty and marinated well. I also enjoyed the bread. Our pho came in a container. They give you empty bowls to put the soup together yourself. I was not expecting that. This place does not have public restrooms. The restaurant itself is in a business park so it tailors to the working community around it. The food quality is good and the portions are perfect for lunch.

Gotta roll me out of here!! They're so fast and efficient here, even on a very busy weekday food rush! And always yummy food!

Plenty of space inside and outside to sit, and the outside seating area has umbrellas, shade, and even a giant Jenga-style game. I asked for some recommendations for tea and was pretty let down. They only had 3 available, and 2 were ones I could find pretty much anywhere else (Earl Grey and...English Breakfast, I think?). I asked for any unique ones and they had a lavender one, which I ended up trying. It was okay, nothing special. Very floral. I also asked for recommendations for beans that are not too acidic and had the Darkside suggested because it's their darkest roast. I'm excited to grind it up and try it!
