The chicken soup is very good, unlike all the other deli restaurants which serve salt water and call it soup. I ordered the fried chicken. It was burnt to a crisp. I would have returned it but I was hungry and didn't want to start over. I ate some if it and asked for a few dollars off the bill which they gave me since it was really too burnt to eat. It's too bad that restaurants don't make the judgment call on their own when they see they're going to serve a dish that's unacceptable. They just try to see what they can get away with. About 30 minutes later, waitress came up to me to tell me I "couldn't have my chicken quesadilla" ... nothing more. Parking is very easy in this strip mall along side Publix. So Steve asked me to give them another chance and we did. I decided to get the meatloaf again so I could compare. The meatloaf came to me ice cold in the middle! Sent it back to be heated and they put it in the microwave!!! How do I know this? Anyone who has put meat in a microwave knows that if you do not cover it the edges become hard as a rock and this meatloaf was no exception. Couldn't cut it with a knife. I could have asked Steve to come by but if his kitchen cannot get their items out properly then his problem is bigger than me. I recently discovered Ruven's, thanks to Yelp. The food is pretty good, depending on what you order. I enjoyed the pastrami sandwich on rye bread. The food comes with great pickles and delicious cole slaw. The matzo ball soup was just okay. I tried the stuffed cabbage with a side of mashed potatoes. It was fair and I wouldn't get it again. Tilapia was okay but I probably wouldn't order it again either. I think the food would be better with more seasoning. My cousin ordered fried chicken with French fries. It was a large serving of chicken and it looked great. He loved it. He's been back four times in the last two weeks for more fried chicken. I tried it and it was delicious. Clyde had chopped steak with grilled onions and mashed potatoes. He liked it. I tried it and I would order it the next time I'm there. The service is fair at best. They have a beautiful challah bread that comes with meals. The problem is almost every time we've been there they've forgotten to bring it. Last night I had to ask for the bread and we didn't get it until we were almost finished with our food. You have to ask for refills on drinks. The service needs to improve. I just don't understand why there is so much ineptitude at this location. I came in to pick up my takeout order and noticed that my order had been completed and was sitting on the counter. I told the manager/owner? that my order was sitting there and he said he was working on another order (along with another employee). He could have simply rung me up, but instead, had to go to the kitchen for potato salad - took about 10 minutes and then still continued to work on the other order; which wasn't a very large order either. Terrible service, I will not return for quite some time. We had to flag a waitress down to take our order. I get it, sometimes people call out of work, but they started taking peoples' orders who sat down after us before coming to our table. Furthermore, the waitress had a nasty attitude to us. There was confusion at the table regarding the lunch special. Outside, they have a 2 for 1 lunch special sign. The back of their menu states lunch specials. However, the lunch specials on the back of the menu have nothing to do with the 2 for 1 special. I know, very confusing. The 2 for 1 only applies to the rest of the menu, NOT the back of the menu. The idea behind the 2 for 1 is that you get 2 meals for the price of 1. When the waitress was taking our order, she said "next order!" with disgust. Excuse me, but the menu is not clear at all. Besides that, don't take out your frustrations on customers because staff is short today. I will admit, the matzoh ball soup is pretty good. Very large matzoh ball with noodles. Good for the soul. Also ordered a half tuna sandwich. That came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and a fried potato pancake. Not bad, the sandwich met my expectations. They do provide complimentary pickles. Plenty of booths, as well as regular tables. There is some artwork on the walls of NYC. I guess that makes some of their clientele feel good since there are a lot of retired New Yorkers and northerners in the neighborhood. My dining compadre was not happy with their sandwich. Too much cheese and not enough meat. In fairness, they did provide a sandwich on the house. Although some of the food was decent, the service left a bad taste in my mouth. I have been to Ruven's several times recently and have been disappointed every visit. If 3g's wasn't so crowded I wouldn't go back. The biggest difference is the service which is where Ruven's really falls short. I had the French dip last week and the roast beef was cold and the au jus was so salty you couldn't eat it. The week before before I had the Cobb salad which was very good but the waitress forgot to give me my bagel that comes with it and I ended up leaving without it. read more

My husband and I have ordered twice from Ruven's during the pandemic and we were very happy with the service and the food. My husband loved the Rueben sandwich and their white meat tuna salad platter was excellent. Love the tuna and I am very picky about tuna! All the vegetables were fresh. Cole slaw and Israeli salad were both great! Ordering was easy from their website and was ready ahead of schedule. Excellent rye bread too. The guys at the front were super nice and friendly. Everything was up to speed regarding safety. Being from New York, we have high standards when it comes to deli and Ruven's not only met, but exceeded our expectations. Went to Ruvens yesterday it was our first time. We reviewed the menu before hand, the menu has something for everyone serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The place has a nice atmosphere and a real NYC vibe. Before ordering we were served pickles and coleslaw. We ordered the hot pastrami sandwich which was average in size and tasted ok. We also ordered a side of fries which we promptly returned since they were oily and soggy. The waitress was very nice and brought out two potato pancakes which were ok but we appreciated here effort to please us. We have been eating at Ruven's for years. Today was a total disaster. We arrived at 11:45 AM hoping to have brunch. We were kept waiting for 20 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was 75% empty. There were tables available immediately that were clean, but the hostess assumed we wanted a booth. We were finally seated at a table. After 10 minutes the waiter asked what we wanted to drink and left. We then waited another 10 minutes for someone else to take our order. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich and I ordered ham and eggs with grits. The ham was overcooked, the eggs were good, but the grits had no flavor and were watery. This is not the Ruvens we have come to know. Poor service and mediocre food will kill this place. We will give it one more try. If it is still this way, we will find a new place to go. read more

Initially we stopped nearby to try the new pho restaurant a few shops over - but that place was closed. And because we were hungry we checked what else was around. We opted for Ruven's. It's a pleasant spot tucked in a shopping plaza off of Jog Rd. We were thoroughly surprised to find this little gem. Our server, Linda was on point. My husband ordered an egg sandwich which he loved and I ordered the cowboy skillet. I do not recommend this dish to anyone as it had about a tablespoon of oil at the bottom which basically turned me off and I ate probably 2 bites . Lol. Cute-as-can-be New York style, Kosher style deli with a fabulous menu and friendly service. The delicious cold slaw and (both sour and half sour) pickles keep on comin'. The matzo ball soup with delicious, hot, and filled with bits of chicken, celery, carrots, a huge ball, AND noodles. Yum! Why the lack of a glowing review then? Well, for me, as important as the aforementioned items are, a deli should be all about the meat. And this meat (corned beef for me) was really not good. Flavorless, dry, and sliced with (rather than across) the grain... it was barely eatable. So, I left it (sadly) on my plate and made a yummy meal of the tasty little latke (served on the side) and lots of slaw and pickles. read more

In the past I did not think well of this place. However that has changed. They have a new chef and the food is very good now. The sloppy joe grilled cheese is really good. The hamburgers are good and have a open fire flavor. The pickles and coleslaw are really good and are brought right away. The deli meat is pretty my guess is that they do not make it on site. Came in for a weekday lunch. We ordered as soon as we sat down and it took over 40 min for the first piece of food to be on the table- which was a matzoh ball soup which was half cold and half warm. I became ill from this item. An additional 15 minutes for the rest of the table to be serve and my cold sandwich. The waitstaff is rude, disruptive, and extremely unprofessional arguing with each other (and sticking their tongues out at each other). My mother in law said her pancakes were ok and our other dish was creative. I don't see myself returning for a $45 lunch plus tip. I went with my wife and some friends to Ruvens for breakfast. The restaurant is attractive and is deli style with ample room for diners.We ordered several breakfasts which were all quite good. I have also gone to this restaurant for lunch which was excellent. There is currently a bogo for breakfast and lunch at this location.Service by our waitress Jackie was excellent and was always responsive. The price to value ratio is above average due to the bogo. The portion size is around average for this type of restaurant.All in all this was a very good experience and I will be returning in the near future. read more

We've eaten at most of the Jewish delis in South Florida, but never at Ruvens until this week. Had a large group for a post unveiling dinner and they did a great job. handled all the special requests with aplomb. Stuffed cabbage was huge. Blintzes cooked perfectly. Pickles and bread were as good as expected for a deli. Only disappointment was the potato pancakes which were all small and some of which appeared burnt or folded over. They were quickly supplemented with quite a few better ones. The rice pudding and chocolate cake were very good. Big portions, reasonable prices, pretty good service although clearly a bit short staffed. All in all a pretty good place. Free parking. Clean unisex bathrooms. read more

Ruvens is a real deli that is not over the top expensive as many of the delis are in the area. Pictures of NYC all around the restaurant makes this deli cozy and inviting.
